This has been my second visit, I made a special journey!
There's something about this appendix of Regents Canal that reminds me of Melbourne (don't ask me why, it's just one of these weird things), so having an Aussie cafe pop up here seems almost logical.
It's really good to see this negleced part of town come into its own. I'm always trying to lure visitors who stop over in Paddington out of the station's back doors - a whole new world opens up, so much more exciting than the chain stores within the station itself.
Beany Green is such a nice surprise, and it's good to see this independent cafe buzz with office workers - a much healther choice than Subway or Starbucks and quicker and cheaper than the pub at the other end of the same block.
For £5 you get a substantial meal, either a deliciously unusual wrap (the tortillas are green and tasty, and I had a lovely spicy chicken filling the other day) or a generous serving of salads (five delicious varieties to choose from, all fresh and raw - true five a day, and all in one go!). Lemon infused water is available for free and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the canal. Definitely the best value lunch I have had all week!
I tried to ignore the sweet temptations on offer, but now that I know they are there I may well find an excuse to return for an afternoon treat some weekend. I hope Beany Green is here to stay - such a treat!
