Had a ton of fun here on the Fourth of July for delicious steaks and salad, and warm, fluffy dinner rolls with real butter. In an old, historic building with pressed tin ceiling, and a wonderful story to tell right on the menu. Fast, friendly and professional service.
The pig race track is out back, with picnic tables around, with one side elevated and covered for a top down view. (No food allowed out there; just drinks) Betting window is just inside the door to go out.
It's like football squares where you print your name on a grid of 25 squares for $2.50 a square for each race. There are two forms for each race, so each square has a 1:50 chance of winning. The more squares you buy... the numbers 1-5 are printed randomly along the top and side of each form before the race, and 5 squares are then selected on each form. So, it's possible your purchased square(s)may not even be in the race. They have 5 pigs in each race, and they run a race about every 15 minutes from 7 pm on. The number of the winning pig corresponds to the two winners on the two grids! Money goes to fund education, so it's a win-win!
Enjoy this delicious slice of Americana!
