Unfortunately, I was not able to eat here. I waited too long to make reservations, but I heard the food was great. We did go to the pig races, which are a blast and highly recommend.

Food not spectacular. Service good. Pig races a hoot! Got to do it at least once.

Google

Had a fantastic time. The food was good but was light on condiments and even glasses for the soda. The server was busy but did a really good job of keeping up with everyone. It was father's day and the place was packed. The pig races was a ball. Spent 3 hours watching and betting and even won a few races. Everyone was having a great time and in a great mood. The staff did a great job of leading the crowd with fun and respect for those around you. I was very impressed with having a crowded place, alcohol, and lots going on, and not one bump from another patron went without an "excuse me" or "I apologize". I can truly say me and my family was happy to spend our father's day dinner and time here. My highest recommendation to stop in and have a good meal and a blast with the pigs! Thanks for the great evening to all the staff!

Go for the steak dinner and stay for the pig races! Reservations recommended

Google
Just...wow. A party of 4, sat quickly, the service was great and fast, and we raved about the steaks. A rib eye, a sirloin, and a flat iron...all cooked to perfection. The flavor...perfection. Sad that we were here after Labor Day and missed the pig race. Beautiful building and decor, great atmosphere. Hey, you gotta stop here!

Pig races were fun but need more spectator friendly room. Bleachers? Long wait for food requires reservations.

Google
Came here on the recommendation of fellow vacationers. We enjoyed the Montana raised beef tenderloin steaks with baked potato, deliciousness! There are also pig races nightly at 7 pm unfortunately we could not stay to place our bets & watch but wish we could have!

Yelp
Food was good and the server was exceptional! Atmosphere was great and the noise level in the restaurant was just right. Bison steak was good and jumbo shrimp were favorable and cooked just right! Betting on the pig races was a little cumbersome with waiting in line. I feel like we spent more time waiting in line than actually enjoying the races. Races were fun to watch. Bar service was below average. The bar tenders (there were 3 by my count) were not able to keep up and seemed disoriented with the drinks in the bar (was this their first night?!?). Took about 15 minutes to cash out our tab. Also, would have preferred more options for beer on tap.

Yelp
The visitor center at Red Lodge really hyped this place up for us!! The restaurant was about 15 mins from Red Lodge. When we arrived, unfortunately, They didn't have the two steak dishes we were looking forward to order here...! The Bison Ribeye and Prime Rib (which sources seem to mention the most). We ordered a few glasses of wine and they were a bit flat here. We ordered the Filet and regular Ribeye. Though the Filet was OK, the Ribeye was extremely flavorful... I have added a photo to spotlight it! It was a perfect medium-rare and the amount of salt was perfect. Perhaps we'll be back in the future for Pig Races as well! They took COVID-19 very seriously; we saw them wipe down every seat and edges of the table after guests finished their meal and left.

Yelp
Best cooked steak I've had in a long time. The pig racing was so entertaining! I'm excited to come back in the future and bring my family!

Sandra R.

Yelp
Our party of 4 agrees that this was the best steak we'd had, maybe ever. Rib eye, sirloin, and flat iron ...the best flavor, and cooked to perfection. The server was very attentive, and the ambiance was unforgettable. Sorry that we missed the Pig Race that ended Labor Day. I encourage you....go here, you won't be sorry.

Yelp
I'm extremely picky about food. Especially steak. 10/10 absolutely hands down THE BEST dinner I've had in a long time. Says a lot when I finished my dinner before my husband. We were in Montana on vacation and picked this place by looking on Google maps at food places around. Best choice ever!! Only thing I'd change is having a vegetable served with the meal.

Yelp
As a former server, whenever someone would walk into the restaurant right before closing, I would definitely feel put out and a little irritated. Tonight, the tables were turned and my husband and I were the jerk faces walking in at 10 minutes to close. Did that seem to annoy anyone working there? Not that we could tell. In fact, everyone we encountered told us repeatedly it was no big deal and to have a seat and hope we enjoyed. And boy did we. The Greek salad is amazing, the steak...perfection! Our server, Denise, was an angel. Seriously we could not have asked for a better meal from better people this late on a Saturday. Thank you for making our last meal on our Montana vacation so delicious and amazing!!!

Chanda L.

Yelp
Go have a steak and enjoy the pig races! This place was awesome! We enjoyed our dinner and gambling on the pigs. We were on vacation and heard about Bear Creek from some locals. Our whole family had a ball! Food was delicious and pigs were adorable!!

Yelp
While we were visiting Montana, a friend mentioned that we should check out the pig racing and betting at Bear Creek Saloon. After an afternoon in Red Lodge, we called and made a reservation and headed to Bear Creek. We were not disappointed. We got there just before 7pm to place our bets for the races and headed out to see the pigs. The races were hysterical. The little pigs were so cute and ran so hard. They had a little area for kids and it was very family friendly. After the races, we went in for our reservation and were sat quickly. I was so happy to see they had an N/A IPA that I love and never expected to see in the middle of Montana! My husband ordered a New York Strip and I ordered the shrimp skewers. The rolls that came out first were soo warm and good. The salads were simple but tasty. Then the entrees came and wowww. My husbands steak was cooked perfectly. The shrimp were fresh tasting and had great seasoning. The potatoes were cooked well. Even the little pickle that came on the side was great. We can not wait to go back!!! Highly recommend.

Yelp
So if you find yourself passing through Bearcreek Montana you must go for dinner and pig racing. YES pig racing! So the building is old and the town is probably smaller than your bathroom but you got to do it. The menu is simple with only 3 or so offerings of steaks. If you didn't know, Wyoming and Montana are known for their angus beef. This place has an exceptional filet mignon. The best part is the fact that they know how to cook a steak. So if you order rare, don't be surprised when your steak is actually cooked rare. All of the steaks are served with a baked potato and salad. All are healthy portions. Oh yeah and get this they serve Tobin James "ballistic" wine too...( this wine is one of my fav's and the winery is in Paso Robles, CA) The wait staff is good. But you must check out the bathrooms. I won't give away the secret but check twice before you enter. So after a satisfying meal you go out back for real life sanctioned pig racing. Pig racing was an idea that was implemented many years ago. All of the proceeds go to funding scholarships for local kids to help pay for college. You will love the names of the little racing pigs....Boss Hawg, Porky's and jimmy dean. Have family fun and a good meal in a super small town in America....priceless!

Yelp
I was looking forward to this night since I made our group's reservation back in October of last year! The staff did an AMAZING job with our group of 56, and our group couldn't stop raving about the food. 'Best steak ever' was the usual comment. And the bar staff did an excellent job keeping up with our thirsty group's needs. THE PIG RACES!!!! Most fun EVER!!!! They lived up to and surpassed my expectations. 10/10 would go back again and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone. Be sure to make reservations! It's a small building and it fills up fast.

Yelp
Consistently delicious & well prepared Prime Rib Dinner. I love their Greek Salad with dinner. Their wait staff is courteous & attentive , no detail is overlooked. Practice makes perfect as The Bearcreek Saloon & Steakhouse has served their customers & communities for decades with a well respected & earned reputation. For entertainment and funding of High School Scholarships join in the fun of betting on & watching the Pig Races. You won't find pork on the menu , just on the race track.

Yelp
Take out order was quick and safe. Owner greeted me at the door with mask and made sure safety was considered. Food was well packaged and tasty! Worth the drive!

Yelp
Had a ton of fun here on the Fourth of July for delicious steaks and salad, and warm, fluffy dinner rolls with real butter. In an old, historic building with pressed tin ceiling, and a wonderful story to tell right on the menu. Fast, friendly and professional service. The pig race track is out back, with picnic tables around, with one side elevated and covered for a top down view. (No food allowed out there; just drinks) Betting window is just inside the door to go out. It's like football squares where you print your name on a grid of 25 squares for $2.50 a square for each race. There are two forms for each race, so each square has a 1:50 chance of winning. The more squares you buy... the numbers 1-5 are printed randomly along the top and side of each form before the race, and 5 squares are then selected on each form. So, it's possible your purchased square(s)may not even be in the race. They have 5 pigs in each race, and they run a race about every 15 minutes from 7 pm on. The number of the winning pig corresponds to the two winners on the two grids! Money goes to fund education, so it's a win-win! Enjoy this delicious slice of Americana!

Yelp
My wife and I had just finished a long day of hiking and driving. Cody Wy restaurants were packed and we took off for Red Lodge MT. On the way into town, the aroma of grilled steak made me pump the brakes and turn around. The restraunt was closed for a special event but the Hostess made a rable for us anyway. We were exhuasted and very grateful. The Bison steak was excellent and the baked potato was not your ordinary russet but a local thin skin baked to perfection, lightly buttered and salted. It rivaled some of the best steak dinners I had. Our waitress wads attentive and very helpful. I almost wish I could eat there every week but it will be on our radar on our next road trip. The greek salad was also excellent. Great meal at a good price with a friendly family atmosphere. The special event was pig races which I wish we had time to stay and watch but could hear the fun and excitement. Don't be fooled by the saloon entrance. This is an excellent restaurant.

Yelp
This place is a ton of fun. Wonderful old building. The dining room looked like an old school cafeteria or something with a raised stage at one end. Lots of character. They have pretty good steaks here and I had a bison steak that was really good. It's too expensive though in my opinion. $30 will get you a world class steak that melts in your mouth in Vegas. This was simply a pretty good steak. Nothing outstanding. The real draw though is the pig races. We went out back and placed our bets and watched the little guys race around the track. My buddy even won $25 on the last race of the night. It sounds odd, but it's hilarious and tons of fun. We had a blast here, and it was well worth the cold and wet motorcycle ride from town. highly recommended.

Yelp
Such a fun place! We were told about this little gem by locals in Red Lodge, MT, and so glad we went. Food was great, and pig races were so much fun to watch. I would definitely go back if we ever make it to the area again!

Yelp
This is one of the best times ever. Very good steaks with huge baked potatoes that were perfectly cooked. Desserts were tasty and solid selection of local and national beers. That would have been enough but there is more! Pig races for entertainment. Yep. And the proceeds raise money for local scholarships. After a week of family reunion events this might have been the highlight. Thank you to the owners who put on a great show and have a great sense of humor. Don't miss it!

Yelp
A truly unique experience not to be missed when in Red Lodge. Staff is busy but friendly, accommodating, & on top of it. Food is very basic but the steaks were great quality. Honestly order a steak as I'm not sure how good the other dishes would be. Steak is their speciality and they are very tasty. MAKE A RESERVATION as this place packs a crowd. Pig races were a blast and we ended up staying for about 8 of them. Great time & wonderfully unique experience. Never Mind the clown review below from the guy who did not make a reservation.

Yelp
An awesome, unique place. First the races. They do PIG RACES, that you can bet on. There is a track out back with a patio/deck. The bar/restaraunt is in front and can be seen from the highway. The races start around 7-8pm and go all night. All the proceeds goes to area schools and charities. Anyway, the bar and restaraunt area is all mixed together. Actually pretty limited seating. All wood, and the perfect worn in western feel that everyone from the east can't get enough of. Lots of beer in bottles, but only one tap from Red Lodge Ales. The service can be a bit spotty at t he height of the races, but they are slammed at that point. This is one of the best steakhouses I have been to. The buffalo Ribeye is amazing. On par with Buchorns Exchange in Denver IMO. If you don't like steaks and potatoes, you will be probably not find a lot to eat. I love it.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! We started out there last week for the pig races. Yes, pig races! They start running at 7 pm and run every 15 minutes. You bet on squares for the races, the winner gets $25. The extra money goes to scholarships. Ok, so we went for the races and smelling the steak on the way in, we decided to go back again last night and have dinner. Holy cow! The 8 oz filet was melt-in-your-mouth outstanding! You get dinner rolls, salad and a baked potato too. Make reservations cuz the place isn't very big and it's packed! This is a steakhouse as well as a saloon, so bring the kids and enjoy watching pigs fly.

Yelp
Fun local steakhouse, with a unique hook, pig races. Pigs are sponsored by local businesses, betting on pig race is done buying a square in a 25 square board, each square cost $2

Yelp
Great food and environment! It's very exclusive. Makes you feel special! People are so sweet here! And homemade everything!!!

Jen H.

Yelp
This place has the best steaks in the US. The staff is wonderful, and the pig races go to an amazing cause. The owners are incredibly friendly and have some great stories to tell. But seriously, the STEAKS! I've been to some pretty fancy joints around the US, and this place, years later, still ranks as the best I've ever had.

Cliff C.

Yelp
I've only been to the Bearcreek Saloon two time but it was excellent both times. The food is excellent and the pig races are hilarious and no doubt entertaining.

Yelp
I would love to be able to write a review if the food here, but can't. All I can do is tell you about their lack of friendliness and service. Looked them up online because a friend had mentioned the pig races. We were staying about an hour away but decided the drive would be worth it. Not one spot on their website mentions "reservations recommended" or anything to that effect. So yes I drive my family of four an hour out there and arrive at 6 to be told curtly that without a reservation it will be 8 pm before we can be seated. Look I get that I'm at fault some here, but how about a little politeness. I asked nicely if there was anything we could do, we had driven an hour, and the website didn't even mention reservations (This place really is a hole in the wall, in the middle of nowhere). "Go tell the guy in the hat" was the response, in once again a non friendly way. Talked to the owner, he could have cared less, and treated my wife like she was an idiot (she's not), so we walked out and won't ever spend a dime nor recommend anyone go there, for damn sure have reservations if you go.
