I rarely write a review unless I’ve been asked to but after visiting last night I feel compelled to give credit where it’s due.
It was in fact the recommendation of a member of staff in the travel lodge that led my father and I here for food, so was a lucky find.
Firstly, what an incredible building. Between the thatched roof, thick stone walls and low ceilings the place is full with character.
Secondly the staff were so unbelievably conscientious. We are sticklers for manners in our family and we were attended to beyond our expectations. The team are a credit to you, clearly influenced by the head chef who was also prioritising out service when passing our table. Incredible and so rare.
The food then was outstanding, we had the sourdough, fish and chips and sausage and mash, the names were far more appealing than that and I have not done them justice but that is essentially what we had, just in a very high end version. That said, we found the prices to be fair and worth every penny.
A perfect chance find. Keep it up guys, you’re clearly making a massive effort, not everyone will always appreciate it because that’s just people, but to those that do will remember and keep coming back.
