Beau Jo's Colorado Style Pizza

Google
I Love Pizza! But pizza at Beaujo's colorado style pizza was fully loaded with all the yummy, tasty and juicy meat and cheezy too ..every bite was heaven on Earth...the never ending filling of juice adds excitement to the pizarian experience..what a way to remember eating pizza time..love it!

Grant K.

Google
Super super disappointed. This place isn’t even close to what the original Beau Joes is. It was equivalent to a frozen pizza. Very sad and would not come back again. The Picture to the left is what we ate at steamboat and the one to the right is in Idaho Springs, huge difference.

Connor D.

Google
The pizza is awesome!! It’s so unique to me being from Massachusetts. It’s pretty pricey though: it cost $80 for two large pizzas and two cokes. And while it is really charming inside, they play that stupid annoying TV channel that is made to feel like doom scrolling on your phone, which drove me nuts. I wish they played movies or the food network instead lol. But other than those things, great food and great staff, and great music too!

ernestine K.

Google
Extremely over priced. Barely any toppings. Small pizza for $34 plus a hidden fee of 7.5% on your bill. Not worth it at all. Would recommend going to dinner elsewhere.

Google
Had a great time here at beaujos with my family. We always come down during the winter and it never disappoints. We ordered a couple of mountain pies, few drinks and some wings. The pizza was amazing and the honey with the crust is a must. I’d definitely recommend this place if ur visiting for the winter

Samantha M.

Google
Pick anywhere else to eat. There is nothing special about the pizza. I've had better wings from the 7-11 gas station and the staff acts incredibly annoyed. If bare minimum had a face, it would be whoever worked the register at this location on December 12th, 2025 at 115pm. For 2 plain pepperoni pizzas, an order of wings with drinks was under $150. Atrocity after atrocity.

Google
Yesterday I went to Beaujos at night, the service was 10/10, one girl with glasses was my host and server, she was super kind with us and makes us feel super special. We like the pizza pepperoni and the pasta Alfredo but there was too much milk for us in the pasta, otherwise everything was very nice! Definitely will come back

Michael H

Google
Solid pizza spot, very fast service. We ordered two large salads, an XL Steamboat Pizza and Pasta Florentine split between four people. It was plenty! There wasn’t a long wait and service was fast.

Yelp
We came here with a large group of about 13 people, including family and another group. We ordered the Dude Ranch and the Steamboat Mountain Pie (XL), along with thin crust pepperoni and a Hawaiian Mountain Pie for the kids. The Dude Ranch and Steamboat were both really good. The flavors were excellent, and the crust was incredibly crispy. My brother even said it was better than New York pizza. Drizzling the honey on the crust was a fun touch--it honestly tastes like eating honey and fresh bread. That said, the crust is very filling, which made it harder to eat more pizza. We had a decent amount leftover. The kids weren't interested in the crust at all and left most of it behind. Service, unfortunately, didn't match the quality of the food. Even with such a large group, there was very little check-in from our server. When I asked a question, the response came off a bit rude, and no one really stopped by to see how we were doing or if we needed anything. I still tipped 18% given the size of our group, but the service could have been much better. Overall, the pizza itself was great and definitely the highlight, but improved service would make the experience much better.

Nicholas W.

Yelp
The pizza is very good and worth trying if you don't care about price, but it definitely isn't worth what it costs. I always get the mountain style because the crust is super good. The ambiance is okay but nothing particularly special. The service is good, but don't expect any fun staff interactions like you might from other steamboat restaurants. They are just there to do their jobs and seem maybe a little overworked. They will notice if you get soda from the machine and you didn't order it, so don't do that because you will have to pay. I would rate higher if it wasn't for the high price.

Javier L.

Yelp
Worst. Beau Jo's. Ever. One pie had dry, burnt cheese. The mountain one had the dryest, hardest crust I've ever seen. Idaho Springs and Arvada locations have way better pies.
google avatar

King B.

Yelp
Had to try a mountain pie while in steamboat. I went with the firecracker mountain pie. It came with packets of honey and red pepper flakes. We ordered in person and the pizza was ready in 15 mins. I had higher hopes for the pizza but i honestly enjoyed it more the next day reheated.
google avatar

Shay W.

Yelp
Loved their gluten & dairy free pizza! Crust didn't taste like cardboard like most gluten free pizza places. Prices were reasonable. Plenty of space inside but also nice little outdoor patio area.
google avatar

Yelp
This is the evil stepchild of beaujos. Not like a real beaujos more like fauxjos and just as expensive

Yelp
STEAMBOAT PIZZA TASTE TEST We couldn't make a decision on which kind of pizza we wanted, and with a group of seven of us, we decided to try 3+1 different places (3 different places in 1 night, the 4th place the following evening). BeauJo's: this one ranked the highest because of the unique crust. Colorado Pizza is unique in the sense that when you are done eating your pizza, you dip the thick crust (mountain pie) into honey. For this one, we ordered the Cajun Mountain Pie (pizza sauce, andouille sausage, pepperoni, red onions, jalapeños, cheddar and smoked provolone cheeses). We all loved this combination of toppings and crust. We also ordered chicken wings as an appetizer, nothing to write home about. Breadsticks also nothing special. Stick to their pizza for a delicious and unique experience. Antonio's: this one came in a very close 2nd. We actually ate here twice on one trip, and the only reason it didn't rank #1 was simply how unique the Mountain Pie crust was from BeauJo's. Pizzas here are very large, but thinner. Not a cracker crust, but also not thick crust. In all honesty, this type of pizza is probably what my family prefers, and we ended up eating here a second time for this reason. The first time we got a giant (24") plain 'ol pepperoni, the 2nd time we got a giant 1/2 tomato and basil (added fresh buffalo mozzarella ourselves at home to make a margarita) and the other half was a pepperoni and green pepper. Ordering here is different, as they have no specialty pizzas. It's either a large or giant pie size, and it's either a cheese pizza "Mulberry Street", a 1 topping "Central Park", 2-3 toppings "Times Square", 4-5 toppings "Grand Central Station", or a gluten free 14" crust option. Pies here don't come small but they are delicious. Also, the interior is a cool, chill setting with plenty of space for standing to have a drink and hang out. While we took all ours to go, this is a place we could easily bring family and friends to hang out at. Mazzola's: is a local Italian restaurant that has been open since 1970. It's definitely more for dine in, but we opted to get a Margherita pizza from here, assuming that because it's an Italian restaurant it would be the best place of the three to get a Margherita. We didn't hate it, the crust almost had a buttery, Asiago cheese flavor to it. It was good, but this is more of a dine in establishment. Of the 4 (including the following day's pizza), this was our least favorite. But it's important to note that it was still very good. Mambo Italiano (next day): we ended up here for dinner but one from our party wanted more pizza. So another pepperoni pizza it was! It was very good, and their happy hour is 1/2 pizzas which was a huge bonus! This one came in third of the four pizzas we had during this trip. But the rest of their food was fire, and checkout my Mambo review for more detailed information. So - final rankings of our votes: BeauJo's Antonio's Mambo Italiano Mazzola's

Frieda F.

Yelp
The pizza was great! Get that, but take out. The in-restaurant experience was sorely lacking. There were two overworked people to serve food and drinks. We ordered at the bar where a person appeared sporadically. Two drafts on tap (as opposed to several on the online menu) but neither was available ("It's just foam", she said.). No table service except they did bring our pizza. But the pizza was delicious!

Whitney K.

Yelp
Super chill, not too busy at 2pm on Friday. Friendly staff. We got two large pizzas for three of us (one being a large man) and had just enough for leftovers tomorrow. We tried the ranch dude and a pepperoni, and the pepperoni was the winner. Their ranch is also delicious

Mary C.

Yelp
Absolutely the best pizza around. Colorado's finest. Any time I see it in a town I would stop.
google avatar

Jackson J.

Yelp
The food was definitely good but not worth $40. The service was good it took a while for the food to get here but trust made it fresh so can't complain. It was an overall clean place. Fair warning don't pay for an extra cup they give you 2 free ones on the tables unless you have more than 2 people than get more cups. Would recommend getting if you have money you don't want anymore.
google avatar

Kristin W.

Yelp
Used to eat at Beau Jo's in Denver as a kid and we loved it so went in with fond memories. Salads were good but Pizza was average. Nothing special and more money than it was worth. Order at counter, service was ok.
google avatar

Jory D.

Yelp
Pizza was ok. Gave us wrong order and didn't do anything to make it right. That's a bummer when you are paying $20 a pie. Won't return. Better places in town

JP W.

Yelp
Over priced, not too bad in flavor, I guess the hype is honey on the crust. Could have used a little more toppings for a 40$ pizza

Ava P.

Yelp
The pizza was super overpriced and tasted terrible. It cost $51 for a xL pizza and 2 fountain drinks.
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Good pizza great service. Ate in restaurant downtown steamboat nice quiet atmosphere.. dipping crust in honey and red pepper was good afterwards. Did the Colorado style. Crust was very good

Omar C.

Yelp
it was a Saturday evening about 6 PM, we were a bit surprised the restaurant was not too busy, but neither was the town. We were reading the menu, a small boy (maybe 12?) came out and stood behind the cashier station, I don't remember if he said anything. We ordered, he mumbled something neither one of us could hear, I asked him to repeat what he said, still could not understand. My wife took one of the small bottles of wine and told him she would like one at which point he may have said something, but he just walked away. A woman came out to help (because of the wine?) to ring us up. They have those small screw top bottles of wine on the counter, maybe 8oz, the woman took a bottle from under the counter and placed the original back in the row on the counter. My wife changed her mind and wanted another flavor, same thing, the woman took another from under the counter and placed the original back in the line on the counter. No, the line of bottles on the counter were not empty, there were new sealed bottles, the ones from under the counter were not refrigerated. She gave me a total, it was way too much, so I asked her to review the order which was incorrect, which she fixed. Large Margherita pizza, one small wine, $48, and would you like to add an 18, 22 or25% tip? You want me to tip for taking my order and too much of my money? No, thank you. We sit in a booth with a good view of Lincoln ave and the Space Station sign. The pizza arrives via friendly server who doesn't say much, the pizza does have a handful of thin tomato slices but no discernable basil. The thin crust was good, cheese is flavorful, but well, hard. We had been here a handful of times over the last few years and it had been pretty good. Now it looks like things have changed, pizza was very different, all the staff has changed. Now overpriced, terrible service and just not good pizza and with the fierce competition in the restaurant business in Steamboat, don't look for this Beau Jo's to be around long.

Yelp
Colorado pizza! I'm in love! Coming from Chicago, deep dish and thin crusts are the whiz as to get. The Colorado is a bit of both. A lot of crust but also hearty fillings- bit thicker than a thin crust. The honey... well I can take it or leave it. But it's optional. When I called it in- over the phone they said 1 lb for 1 person... ummm... order 2 lbs! Of course you will be stuffed, but it's so good I wouldn't have minded eating more of it! Overall- highly recommend!

Yelp
Very quick take-out order, which was much appreciated after a long day! Colorado style "mountain pizza" isn't my favorite style to date, but I still really enjoyed their toppings and dipping my crust in honey.

Yelp
For me especially in Colorado every day turns an adventure. Beau Jo's, Hands down is my ULTIMATE #1 hometown go-to spot for authentically delicious Colorado-style pizza. Colorado-style pizza pies is the kind of pizza that you need and sold by the pound and designed to serve up an unheard amount of cheese, toppings, and sauce. When ordering the Mountain pie which is a hand-rolled edge of daily made dough creating a barrier to hold in a mountain full of fresh toppings, to satisfy an appetite. Mountain pie sizes comes in pounds, 1#, 2#, 2# and 5#. The crust offers a built-in dessert to be dipped in honey. They say it's a pound per person. The Prairie pie does not have a hand rolled edge and has a lighter amount of premium toppings. The prairie pie comes in small, medium, large and extra-large sizes. If neither of those are for you, they do have cauliflower and gluten-free options. There are 6 different locations in Colorado score a Mountain Pie. They also support customers that want free electrical car charging stations at our Idaho Springs, Arvada, and Lone Tree locations! I just wanted to personally thank Beau Jo's for buying local produce, meats, cheese, and beer when available, minimizing our carbon footprint by reducing transportation.

Melissa B.

Yelp
Love the pizza here and it is so good when you dip it in honey. Everything is customizable which is great.

Yelp
The pizza is 5 stars fabulous as Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs is know for. If it wasn't for the pizza, I'd give this -5 stars, really a dark cloud. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Walked in to the bistro concept where you order prior to sitting. We evaluated the menu as we had a friend with us who had never been to a Beau Jo's. (After this experience it was his first and last time to visit one though we assured him the original location is superb.) The order taker talked so fast I had to ask him to repeat himself three times for the list of drinks. I finally told him he talks too fast. He never got the hint. All this guy does is take your order and deliver pizza and adult beverages. That's it! On your first visit you don't know that's all he does, but when you pay, there's that tip option. Ugh. So you go to a table that already has plates and water glasses, which you get the water yourself. He has given you glasses for soda when you pay (and tip). So we find a booth and sit. He delivers the delicious pizza and I ask for silverware. He advises its back by the soda fountain. I'm sitting in the booth where I can't get out. By now there is one other table seated. I ask if he could get us some. He glares at me with a snide expression and with disgust, reluctantly goes for silverware. Hey, buddy, sorry for the inconvenience but what do you think a tip is for? We will NEVER return here. My suggestion is to wait until after four o'clock when the other Italian places in Steamboat open and go there. This concept is NOT working. Definitely not up to Beau Jo's standards. There is a reason it was empty.

Yelp
Horrible service, will not honor Pi Day or other offers that are advertised on the Steamboat Springs location website. They're also advertising that they have soup/salad bar on the menu board and in their flyers while they do not have it - would take very little effort to take it off the menu board and place a sticker over it in their flyers. Advertisement showing deals that they will not honor included. Avoid Beau Jo's in Steamboat Springs at all costs! They use the Beau Jo's name but don't actually follow the company requirements.

Yelp
Yes it's just as good as the original. And yes, it's the greatest pizza on Earth. Reason the First: the honey wheat option is the most amazing thing you'll ever eat. (They also offer GF, but if you aren't celiac, live your best life and get wheat.) And the honey on the crusts at the end are like a dessert you never want to end. It's so chewy and soft and full of wheat flavor. Amazing. Reason the Second: they have dairy free cheese that isn't gross. As a lactose intolerant cheese lover, this cheese came straight down from Heaven. Texture and flavor was like a cross between powdered Parm and goat cheese. In fact, we got half regular cheese and half vegan and the entire family declared the vegan cheese the winner. Reason the Third: the perfect ratio of crust:toppings:sauce:cheese. Lots of chewy crust pieces but not too thick in the actual pie part, tons of tangy tomato sauce, and reasonable amount of cheese. Love this place. I've had pizza all over the world, this is my fave. Also they have a nice little patio for doggies.

Yelp
I don't discriminate against pizza and this was my first time having Colorado style pizza! Love the thick crust drizzled with honey. Stopped in to grab a bite while exploring the town and pizza and beers was the best pick me up. Would definitely go back.
google avatar

Susan S.

Yelp
Very good pizza!! The flat white crust was yummy, the cauliflower crust was good too!
google avatar

Holly J.

Yelp
This pizza hit the spot! Mountain crust really intrigued me as a Chicago native. Crust is what it's all about! The honey was a perfect finish to our pie! We got ital sausage mushroom and green pepper and all were fresh, tasty, and well balanced. Totally recommend hitting this place up if you are looking for pizza on the mountains! Also watch for yelp discounts! They participate.

Christine M.

Yelp
Pizzas smaller than expected given the price, description and info from staff. We called to ask how much food to order for 6 adults and 6 kids. We were told 3 large pizzas with two salads. We were under the (wrong) assumption that these pizzas would be thick and loaded with toppings. Not so. They are equivalently sized to Dominos, so we should have ordered 5 for our group. Wouldn't have expected that for $30/pie. They were fine, but seriously overpriced for what you get. Dipping the thick hand rolled crust in honey was nice.
google avatar

Yelp
7/24/2020 Made a reservation as we were told it was required for all restaurants in steamboat. We got there but they were taking walk ins We saw the table that had a reserved sign on it but instead of giving us that one they stuck us at a table in the corner which was not really very pleasant. Guy taking orders was friendly This beau Jos is more like an old school pizza hut. It's like fast food, not a dine in restaurant experience. Staff doesn't come to check on you. You get your own drinks. They basically just bring food to table that's it. Food was "ok". My salad was 1/4 old looking salad that was wilted and gross. I ended up throwing it away. Was pretty disappointing as that was my main meal. My family's food was all ok but not as good as the beau Jo's in fort Collins. They were satisfied though. If I come back to steamboat we will probably try out one of the other pizza shops in town. This shop does have gluten free options which is nice if you need that
google avatar

alyssa c.

Yelp
best pizza iv'e had, amazing pizza and honey cheese bread! loved the options for crust! pizza was amazing and the ratio of toppings on pizza were perfect! very flavorful and not too salty. honey cheese bread was a perfect combination. the staff helping us was very patient and helped a lot! highly recommend this place! mountain pie: crust is soft and chewy! amazing with the honey they provide, my personal favorite prairie pie: thinner crust, yummy! honey cheese bread: sooo delicious, honey on the bread under the cheese!

Yelp
Went to this place hoping to try Colorado style pizza but it wasn't open! Despite being there right when the website and the front door said it was open, no one was there. And no one answered their phone. So can't speak to the food but their hours are flaky at best.

Yelp
Let me start with this: we usually LOVE Beau Jo's. We used to live in Boulder and would go to the Idaho Springs location and always loved it. We live in Atlanta now and go to Steamboat Springs for skiing every year. This year, service and pizza was disappointing. Everyone who worked there seemed very disinterested in helping us. When my husband got out of the booth to leave, he was standing in the aisle getting on his coat and a guy carrying a pizza to a table just stood there and staring him down waiting for him to move with an annoyed look on his face. So rude. My husband even apologized and threw guy just kept staring him down. The pizza and cheese bread were also very sub-par. So sad we wasted money at this location.

Suzi S.

Yelp
We were on vacation and rarely get to use Grub Hub as we live outside a city, so on vacation in Steamboat Springs we thought we would order pizza and stay in. Not only did we not get our order AT ALL, we weren't given a courtesy call or anything. Just nothing from these jerks. I don't know what their food is like and certainly never will. Terrible customer service. Don't order to go from them, you may end up waiting over an hour and then just never getting it like we did. We had to get out and go get our food. So much for a pleasant vacation experience.

Bobby G.

Yelp
Ordered the linguini with meatballs and it was absolutely tiny. Size of something off a kids menu. No exaggeration they gave me two meatballs. Would not recommend!
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
In town for a few days and we do love pizza, so why not try "Colorado style pizza". I really enjoyed Colorado style. Pizza - enjoyed by all. I enjoy a thick crust at the end, so the braided crust was very nice. The under-crust was thin, which I also enjoy, so this was a winner in my book. The toppings were fine, nothing crazy, didn't really seem like a mountain to me. I also tried some honey on the end crust, which was fine to me (not the biggest fan of raw honey), something new to try though. Price seemed high-ish to me, but this is a small town in the mountains serving a special style of pizza, so when in Rome ‍ Salad bar - pretty standard, soup and salad. Soup was chicken with vegetables...like every vegetable but as an add-on for the one person not eating pizza, it was a good deal. Service - service was fine, no issues there
google avatar

Craig K.

Yelp
My wife and I were visiting the Steamboat Springs area this week and chose to visit this restaurant for supper this evening. I would've given 5 stars for our overall experience at this restaurant, but 1) we weren't welcomed at all upon entering the restaurant and, indeed, had to try to find some - ANYONE - to help us either find a seat or whatever - for almost 5 minutes. We felt like we were in their way, and that they couldn't care less that we chose to dine in their restaurant this evening. 2) the floor in the dining room was dirty, yuck! And 3) Our pizza cost us $30 - exorbitantly expensive! But the location was convenient, our server was mildly friendly, and the dining room was interesting.

Shaan D.

Yelp
In all my times visiting Colorado, i've never had Colorado style pizza. It's hard to describe, so you just need to come try it at BeauJo's. The menu here has so many options that there is something for everyone. I got a make your own pie which was very good, full of toppings which were fresh. The crust is the star of the show, and you drizzle a little honey on it for a delicious desert. I will say that the mountain pies are HUGE so definitely consider sharing or having it for lunch the next day. The staff were super friendly and when one order came out wrong they immediately corrected it. Pies are reasonably priced as well. The restaurant itself is small but they do have a patio for outdoor seating.
google avatar

Dennis S.

Yelp
This establishment charged me $23 for this 10" pizza, which is absolutely awful. Let the buyer's beware ...
google avatar

Carol S.

Yelp
Ordered a 2 pound pizza with whole wheat mountain crust and a sausage . Got a smaller pizza and thin white crust. Not our order!! We order this all the time in Idaho Springs Beau Jo's!! Sorry we will never go back. Think there was a language barrier !

Margaux F.

Yelp
Even though the restaurant was completely empty, it was obvious that the kid behind the counter hadn't done any work before we got there. Every single table was sticky. The pizza was underwhelming, if not almost gross. We love the Idaho Springs location and frequent it every time we pass through, but we won't be returning to this location at all. Very disappointing.
google avatar

Alisher S.

Yelp
Great place to buy pizza. Not cheap but worth every penny! I stopped buying pizza a few years ago as I started having a heartburn after pizza. Each slice was like a brick in my stomach. Not the case with BeauJo's pizza. As you can see in pics we bought a lot of pizza and the taste was very rich and unique. No heartburn or feeling heavy after pizza. Kids friendly and service was great!
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
I just love their pizza. It is a Colorado tradition, a thick crust pizza with loads of toppings. If you want cardboard thin New York pizza, you should go somewhere else. Our family has been going to Beau Jo's for decades, mostly at their original location in Idaho Springs. Now we were overjoyed to know that they opened a store up in Steamboat. The pizza we had last night was a 3lb large pizza, pepperoni, italian sausage, mushrooms and artichokes. Everyone in our party loved it. I'm so glad they are here and I hope they stick around!
google avatar

Hannah S.

Yelp
They brought out my Mediterranean salad in 3 pieces. First the dry salad and then the chicken on the side and the dressing finally when we had to ask. Very mediocre.

Laila P.

Yelp
Very very very expensive for very very very small pizzas with minimal taste. Pepperoni pizza burnt. Cauliflower gluten free crust soggy. $53 for pizza that tastes like frozen grocery store budget pizza

Kimberly D.

Yelp
Wonderful service and excellent pizza! The beer was cold and the pizza options are endless. Perfect spot after a busy day exploring downtown steamboat. We will be back.

Natalie C.

Yelp
Beau Jo's pizza really is unique. The pizza is delicious and fantastic. Then, you can dip the crust into honey for a delicious combo you probably never thought of. The service isn't amazing though. They messed up our order and the some of the employees were quite rude. The restaurant isn't the cleanest either. In fact, it was quite filthy. There was dirt everywhere. Beau Jo's is unique, but I don't recommend.
google avatar

Adam S.

Yelp
Last week we stopped by the Beau Jo's in Steamboat Springs. The service was great, and our pizza was ready in about 10 minutes! We ordered a salad, and a large dude ranch specialty pizza with the mountain style crust. Without having to ask, they threw in some packets of honey in hour to-go order. The pizza had great flavor, with big creamy bites of ranch. I have been visiting Beau Jo's off and on since 2004, and the location in Steamboat Springs is keeping up to the high standards!

Yelp
Just okay. And too expensive to be just okay. The prairie style [think vs thin] is just too much bread and the crust takes up so much of the 8 inch pie, there's no room for the ingredients. Which they charge you between $2-$3 each as add on . They give you some honey or something to dip crust in, but being an Italian dish, I'd suggest a cup of sauce or olive oil. It was prepared well, and the place is clean , but I would get a regular thin crust, if I came back at all.

A Simple Affair E.

Yelp
We came here without looking up any reviews, and we both loved their pizza. When we arrived it was mid-afternoon and there was no one else in the restaurant. That concerned us a little bit, but we decided we'd order and take a chance and we were glad we did. We got a specialty pizza and a salad and both were excellent. I'd highly recommend Beau Jo's for lunch or dinner..
