Belle Epoque lake side hotel walking distance from everything. Understated class although walk in customers on the terrace were sometimes not so classy. Nice room with a terrace was very relaxing. A R&C but not a typical one. Wouldn’t necessarily go back but no complaints about our stay

I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful and enchanting hotel. The room was comfortable and spacious, equipped with all the amenities one would expect from a five-star establishment. The staff were both professional and courteous. The restaurant was excellent, and the dinner simply superb. Entirely in keeping with the standards one expects of a five-star hotel.

I had a great stay here- the location near downtown shopping was great, the view onto the lake was gorgeous, and travel/transportation to some beautiful hikes was easy and convenient. Ask for the traveler’s card to get discounted tickets to public transportation and tourist sites.

The sun was shining and the hotel certainly enjoys a great location with a beautiful terrasse. Unfortunately, these were about the only positives of my stay at Hotel Beau Rivage in Neuchâtel. When arriving by car in front of the property, no staff were around to assist. At reception, no one was present either. After eventually tracking someone down, I asked for a parking spot — none were available. Even though there were spaces right in front of the hotel, and even after asking three times, I was told no availability. The rooms, sadly, spread the “charm” of the 1980s — dated décor and a tired atmosphere that hardly matches a modern five-star standard. For a hotel presenting itself as 5 stars and charging accordingly, the lack of service, attention, and quality is very difficult to understand. Other than the sunshine, the location, and the terrace, I struggle to see where the “five-star” experience is meant to be.

Deeply Disappointed by the Inhumane Behavior at Beau-Rivage Neuchâtel I’m writing this after hearing about a truly disturbing incident that took place at the Beau-Rivage Hotel in Neuchâtel. An Arab man traveling with his two young children, stopped at the hotel when his kids urgently needed to use the restroom. Instead of showing basic human decency, a male staff member rudely refused to let them in and told them to go away — even after the father explained that his children were in distress. The tone and attitude were reportedly harsh and dismissive, completely unworthy of any place that calls itself a five-star hotel. What happened reflects a serious lack of compassion, professionalism, and cultural respect. No child should ever be denied access to a restroom in an emergency, and no parent should be treated with such coldness. Incidents like this damage the reputation of Swiss hospitality and show how urgently some establishments need to retrain their staff in empathy and basic courtesy. I sincerely hope the management investigates this and ensures such behavior is never repeated.

The hotel is very quiet and clean, the staff is friendly and the service is excellent, we would definitely return The only drawback was the lack of private free parking and a very strong smell of air freshener in the room (for those sensitive to smells).

Yelp
I have stayed here several times. It's certainly the best location and highest overall quality hotel in town. It's very pricey and you still have to pay for breakfast. Which I have never had as I easily walk across the street for morning walks and grab something small, eat less, and pay less, while getting some fresh air. The hotel staff are all very professional and helpful. The rooms are decorated in more classic styles and the lighting in bathrooms are excellent. The amenities are adequate, you also get your bedding turned in the evening and more or less feel you are pampered! I loved my lakeside view room back in the last summer. Bigger room as well as the one I just had last week.

Yelp
Excellent hotel. I had a room overlooking the lake, while the windows are quite small this hotel has old world charm in spades. The included breakfast is just what is needed to start your work day, although the 'scrambled' eggs could have been done a bit more, which is to my liking. I also had a couple of beers in the bar and dinner one night. The food in the restaurant was excellent and service was also exceptional. The hot foie gras appetizer rivals others I have had in Paris, the white truffle risotto special was truly the best thing I have tasted in many trips to Europe and the several mini-tastes of appetizers and chocolates for dessert, which were included in the meal where all quite delicious.

Yelp
Fabulous hotel. Great food and bar. In the heart of the city with a beautiful waterfront. Staff was friendly. Room was a nice size and the beds were so comfortable. The bathroom is amazing.
