This was a very nice restaurant. For 2 adults and 2 children though, a little pricey at over $100 for lunch. And the kids got kids meals. 1 appetizer. The beer was $5 a beer, so not as crazy as other places, we got 2, but the bill was still high in my opinion. Only constructive feedback would be, please make some sort of house made ranch. Ranch is an American staple for salads. And maybe do lunch specials.

Google
Beaufort in a box. classic Coastal NC restaurant experience. lunch has a large menu including salads and sandwiches. dinner is a fancy affair with unique dishes made with fresh local ingredients. the flaming Saganki is a great appetizer to start off with. Aunt Marion’s salad is great as an entree or upgraded side salad. I got one of the Features of the day, Grilled Mahi Mahi with lobster cream. the lobster cream complimented the fish and rice. Dining room is small, but not too noisy. Waitstaff was very attentive and gave honest, informative suggestions about the menu. No extra charge to use a credit card.

Google
This is an incredible restaurant. We came in from out of town for a few days and found this gem tucked away in Beaufort. The food is to die for. I had a pan seared grouper fillet and couldn't have been more impressed with the flavor and the quality of the fish. My date had the tuna fillet which was also to die for. The service was amazing as well. For the best experience, be sure to askk for Timmy or Kitty. That are both top tier servers. I really hope to be able to make it back here next time I'm in the area.

Google
Food and service was wonderful. Make sure you have some time as things came out of the kitchen slowly...but food was great. We will be back. Everyone had a different sandwich and then split a piece of the carrot cake

Google
I had the pleasure of sharing two fantastic dining experiences this past weekend at Beaufort Grocery. Dinner highlights included "Saganaki" and lamb chops (with crinkle fries). At brunch the seafood omelet with pristine jumbo lump crab and crispy fried oysters covered in light and fluffy hollandaise stole the show--hmm maybe it was tge sweet potato biscuits packed with country ham and pumento cheese..topped with spicy pepper jelly. All flavors were balanced and everything was cooked to perfection. Our server "Kristin" and "Resa" were a rays of sunshine! They expertly paired wine to our gorgeous meals and made us feel like we were dining at a festive dinner party in an historic home. 10 stars!

Google
Great food. Great service. This place does not have good acoustics. Extremely loud. Kathryn was a terrific waitress.

Google
The Beaufort Grocery is five star in every area. The food was beyond amazing. Our server was so attentive to every detail. The atmosphere was perfect. Reservations are recommended. As a side note, I am gluten free and he menu was clearly marked, the waitress knowledgeable and one of the managers has celiac. Highly recommended. Pictures below is my Gf pork chop meal and my husbands non GF steak. .

Google
If I could give 10 stars I would. Food and drinks were excellent. Our server, Timmy, was knowledgeable, personable, and attentive. I came here per a friend recommendation and this was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. A Beaufort gem for sure.

Yelp
Birthday dinner for my wife Had the Saganaki Cheese for the appetizer The chef dinner special Mahi, lobster, scallops with asparagus & brussel sprouts Everything thing was absolutely delicious Service was great, checked on us often Great place to eat while in Beaufort, can get a little loud in there

Yelp
2nd time was the charm! So, First visit. After all the raging reviews, I had high high hopes for brunch. We had went over the summer during the busy period, and although the food was good and beautifully presented, it was not memorable. Honestly, we were so uncomfortably hot, even sitting inside, it was hard to enjoy our experience. The food was also a little pricey so I didn't get the hype on my first trip. 2nd visit: Less crowded, less hot, and the food was amazing. They have some really great and interesting sandwich options. It comes with some yummy crispy sweet potato chips. We also tried the desserts which were excellent. You have to peak in the dessert cooler and pick the one that's calling you. If this was my first time I would have gave it 5 stars. We will certainly be back! It is a little pricy for a sandwhich, but for this meal it was worth it.

Yelp
This was not my first time but always a great choice when in Beaufort. Please note, you can call for reservations. Many times there is a wait but it's worth it. I started with their chicken curry soup which was perfectly seasoned and delicious. It wasn't as creamy as expected but was very tasty. I then had their turkey and bacon and spinach special sandwich. There was a large portion of turkey and it was an overall delicious sandwich. I had their broccoli salad as my side. It's one of my favorites. It is very creamy with a sweet kick and raisins. This is a definite stop you have to choose when in town. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
This establishment is always great when we are in Beaufort. My family always stops here and yours should also. We ordered the specials today and they HIT. Service is outstanding and the ambiance outside watching people walk by drooling at our food is always great! You're 2 blocks away from the water and downtown. We will always come back and till next time .....

Yelp
We ordered a few of the lunch specials and really enjoyed every item. The tomato soup with cheese tortellini was a lovely comfort on a cool day before our sandwiches arrived. I got the sandwich special with a fabulously fresh focaccia and herby ham + spread. I'm not a big sandwich gal, just usually am not impressed by the combinations. But as hoped, this one delivered. Loved the crunch of the greens, the high quality ham and the pop of flavor from the basil mayo. It was flavorful and well balanced, a lovely creation. My boyfriend got the sandwich with turkey, bacon, peach chutney and goat cheese. I'd considered it and enjoyed a few tastes. I enjoyed my selection most, but his is a regular menu staple and it definitely sets a high bar for flavor and unique ingredient combinations. I eyed other plates around me who got brunch and do think they have wonderful selections for this meal as well - would have to debate which to choose if we got back at brunch time again. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. The space was quite filled on a Sunday, but we didn't feel cramped and were grateful for a spot by the window (might have felt differently in another area of restaurant). Everything seemed incredibly fresh, most made in house (desserts look tasty, but we were satisfied with our lunch entrees). Overall an impressive spot in a small town that is not to be missed! The food was fresh, fabulously tasty and well crafted. We're culinary oriented folks, so always enjoy finding a place like this. Whenever we're back in the area, it'll be an easy decision where to

Yelp
The Beaufort Grocery is my favorite restaurant in Beaufort, NC. I visit Beaufort for work and always eat at this wonderful restaurant. I also bring back to Tampa the Gouda cheese spread. I start with the cheese spread and see what specials they have. Last time I stuck with the Pan-Seared Duck Breast but you can't go wrong with anything they serve. They have a tiny bar but will make you anything you want. Service is fantastic! Wish I could visit for brunch!

Kimberly W.

Yelp
The food was amazing as always. You can't go wrong with anything at this amazing bistro. We both ordered two different fresh fish specials, both were great!! The service is always just as great as the food! Everyone was amazing!

Yelp
If you find yourself in Beaufort, don't miss out on the experience of Beaufort Grocery. We found ourselves there for Sunday brunch and were thrilled to learn they had the cutest outdoor patio garden. The only thing better the ambiance and service was the food! I had the Ben & Flo (combo of their crab cake Benedict and eggs Florentine) and my partner had the Ben & Willie (combo with the Wellington) and a stack of pancakes. Everything was delicious and prepared beautifully. We added a couple mimosas and enjoyed a delicious meal in the sunshine. We loved it so much, we came back the following night for dinner and got two of the specials. It was an equally yummy and top notch service experience.

Beth S.

Yelp
Server exceptional. It's Friday after Thanksgiving and the place is packed. Servers are still spot-on. Our group enjoyed pan seared shrimp and scallops, smoked sea salt seared yellow fin tuna, and crab cake appetizer. The children ordered spaghetti and meat balls with marinara and it could easily serve 24 people, at minimum. Lovely warm place with white sails hanging above to deaden the sound. EVERY restaurant with a high ceiling should adopt these sound controls.

Yelp
Objectively the worst meal and worst service we've had this year!! It was a beautiful day in Beaufort and we were excited to find the charming storefront of Beaufort Grocery. We were seated at an outdoor table by the hostess who asked us for a drink order. 2 Iced Teas, please. Our first clue should have been the table next to us telling us to ask for silverware as soon as our server comes. Hmmmmm... Okay, five minutes later, our serve shows up and brings menus, the first thing on our table so far. , we ask for iced teas again...and silverware. Five more minutes, no tea, no silverware, our server comes to take our order. We order two sandwiches and two drinks from the bar. And iced teas. And silverware. Then we notice, every table outside has a different server. We start to suspect that management has split their indoor team to cover one table each outside. This is a recipe for disaster. At this point, we should have cancelled our order and left, we've been there 20 minutes, just getting tea, our server has come out to tell us he's arguing with the bartender over our bar order. Honestly, it's getting comically bad. Finally, some half hour after we've been seated we have tea, drinks, & silverware. Food is nowhere in sight. Another 10minutes and we get our sandwiches. The wife's looks good, but mine is a disaster on a plate...soggy bread, mayo & mustard strewn about the plate and a handful of greens that look like someone has released like confetti from the sky!! At this point funny has turned to infuriating, so I ask for a manager. She comes out and unapologetically makes me out to be the culprit?? Huh?? She tells me she gets the sandwich wrapped in a tortilla, because it's so unruly. Wait?? So you know this is an issue and no one in your organization has ever dealt with it? Honestly, I can't believe we stayed. At this point I should have told them to stick the entire order. But the wife was eating and I was trying to make the best of it. The final insult...the manager comped not one thing. Nothing. When I commented about it to my server, he responded, "yeah...she does that." So this is top-down horrible management that's leaked into literally every department. From staid between servers and the bar, a kitchen that's making sub-par food, servers....every aspect of this organization has obviously lost their give-a-damn. Avoid Beaufort Grocery at all costs!!

Yelp
My partner and I were very excited to eat here. We'd planned the last morning of our week-long vacation in Beaufort, ending it with lunch at BGC. As we usually do, we scoped out the menu and looked over countless reviews and photos. (When we travel, we take meals pretty seriously.) Unfortunately, no amount of research would have prepared us for this terribly disappointing experience. We were greeted by our server relatively quickly. She took our drink order and we ordered the crab dip appetizer. She was very personable and courteous; I have no complaints about the server herself. We ordered a couple sweet teas, a diet, and a sangria from the bar. The teas came quickly, but my son had to wait nearly 15 minutes for his drink and my partner waited about 20 minutes for her drink from the bar. We finally ordered our food. The appetizer took about as long as I would expect our actual meals to take. This was where my main issue lies. We waited well over an hour for our meals. We were told a party of 11 ordered just before us; however, that would excuse only a slight delay. We waited for another 25 minutes AFTER our server said it was coming right up. I suspect she forgot to place the order earlier, but it was never admitted. My daughter's food did not come how she asked for it; however, since we'd already waited so long, we didn't have time to have it corrected, and who knows how long that would have taken. My son enjoyed his meal. My partner and I liked ours okay, but the experience had already taken most of the enjoyment out of it. We had to rush through eating and leave. We finally received the check. It was a gut punch. I would never ask to be comped for any reason, as demonstrated with this experience, but I couldn't imagine a world where I would let a customer pay full price after a wait like that. $142.99 for a family of four...for lunch. I worked as a server and bartender for 15 years. I am extremely patient with the staff because I understand, more than most, all of the uncontrollable variables that go into executing a meal. That said, this was one of the most egregious cases of delayed food that I've ever seen, let alone experienced. Had this been a normal lunch, I would be more forgiving. It wasn't, though. This was the last day of our vacation. We had plans to get back to our resort in a timely manner to hang out with our new friends one last time and had dinner plans early that evening. This derailed all of that, and took a chunk of time that I'd like back. Sadly we won't get that time back. There is no consequence to the business because, since they are always busy, they don't seem to care about the personal experience. We would have likely never returned anyway, since we don't usually vacation in that area, but I wanted to leave this review for the next family who wishes to enjoy their vacation by not sitting for a 2-hour lunch. I can't award any stars for the food; it didn't matter after what we'd been through. For the record, I reached out twice to the business to hold them accountable, but they have chosen not to acknowledge this.

Yelp
We stopped in on June 23rd for Linner and sadly they closed just as we walked in. They explained they would be opening up at 5:30. My wife got there at 5:15 and it was clear this was the place to eat after seeing the line extend of people waiting. We were the first ones in the door and they asked if we had reservations. We did not, so they explained they had out door dining only for walk ins. I had no issue with that. My wife and I both ordered the Filet Mignon. We both asked for medium rare. It was more like medium well, but that is alright. It was still extremely juicy and flavorful. Our only suggestion is for you to make a reservation. We have learned for next year.

Bill M.

Yelp
You know you found the spot when you arrive 15 mins before it opens and there is a line. We got the special, Grouper Tacos. Probably the best grouper taco I've ever had and best grouper outside of the Florida Keys!

Caroline P.

Yelp
Sat outside as there was a 30 minute wait for inside. Which was a little chilly but fine. Had the apple granny sandwich was very good. Carolina caviar was tasty. Our server, Timmy was the best! Super friendly and attentive! Will be back again.

Ross A.

Yelp
We showed up for lunch on a rainy summer afternoon. Had fantastic Bloody Marys at the bar while we waited for our table. I ordered the Gumbo that was awesome. My wife had the chicken Pesole soup that was also super good. I also had the Rueben Sandwich which was equally fantastic. These folks do it right with great service, great menu and great location. We will be back when we head south for the winter!

Chelsea P.

Yelp
I have eaten here twice and both times were fantastic! Most recently we went with a party of eight just before they closed up for lunch. The group was half foodies and half always happy eaters. We ordered crab dip and a blue cheese type of dip that was very rich. Either one would have been way too much for a party of two app but for our big group it was ideal. My mom ordered a Ruben, my dad ordered the Joshua Tree and added Mahi, he definitely won best dish of the day. I had the sandwich special. The only sandwich that I wouldn't order again was the crab cake sandwich and it wasn't bad but the other sandwiches were just so much better. Our server was great and even though they were closing up for lunch we didn't feel rushed at all. The dinner menu looked amazing and I can't wait to head back for a nice dinner sometime soon.

Parks F.

Yelp
Best in Beaufort on a consistent basis. Food. Drinks. Desserts, and appetizers. Never had a bad meal.

Katie S.

Yelp
We always come here for Sunday brunch and it's always great! This time, it rained unfortunately, but they were able to accommodate us inside super quickly.

Melissa G.

Yelp
We've heard about this place for literally years, but never made it there. It was worth all the hype because everything was divine! You do need to make reservations though! The food was fresh, prepared perfectly, and the as delicious. The service was wonderful from the host to the bartender to the server. It's nice when a place actually lives up to his hype.

Clive V.

Yelp
Walking up to the restaurant located just off the Main Street, you instantly get a good feeling about this place, like it's gonna be really good. We had made our reservations a few days prior to arrival, and thankfully so. This was a popular restaurant. My friends and I had originally asked for a bigger table, but since two people in group didn't show up they had to separate our tables, while this was going on we went to the little bar at in the back and ordered some drinks. The bar tender seemed like she was having a bad day, but at least she whipped up some quality old fashions for us. Next we moved on to our table and had the most helpful waitress. As the boys and I went through asking our questions most of them quickly realized that the meals they wanted to order where not available because the quality of the fish that came in. I tried the squash blossoms and really enjoyed my entree. Would definitely recommend!

May-May R.

Yelp
Several people recommended this place so we went into Beaufort and had lunch here. It was crowded but we were able to wait at the bar - unfortunately it was around 2pm on a Thursday and they were already out of ingredients for their special drinks (peach smash and watermelon mojitos). We ordered the saganaki which was SO good - we wish it came with more than 8 slices of bread (you have to pay for more bread) because we had so much cheese leftover. We also ordered a chicken salad gourgere (which is chicken salad on a delicious Parmesan light pastry). It was delicious - loved that the chicken salad wasn't doused in mayo and let the flavors really shine. We also ordered the bourbon pecan pie which might have been the star of the meal! If you are in Beaufort, I highly recommend you make this a stop on your tour...the wraps and sandwiches looked huge so definitely come hungry and save room for dessert.

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Beaufort Grocery was recommended to me as the place to eat after my golf cart tour of Beaufort. I am so happy I had the opportunity to dine here. When I arrived there was a wait but when my table was ready someone came to find me outside. My waitress was friendly and offered some suggestions when ordering. I went with the Deli Special which was roast beef on rye. I went with fruit as the side. The sandwich was delicious. After seeing the desserts when I entered, I knew I wanted to try the chocolate chess pie. The slice was huge but so decadent and tasted like a brownie. If you are in Beaufort, make sure to stop at this gem.

Yelp
I have been going to Beaufort Grocery since I was a kid. I used to love getting the basket of pastries before breakfast. It was such a treat, filled with an assortment of different things to choose from. I've taken new friends there over the years and shared family meals. Our last few meals there have been disappointing. The food is flavorless and uninspired. I ordered a basket of pastries today at brunch and we got a basket of underbaked pound cake. Our omelettes had ingredients clumped in a couple spots and not spread out in the dish. We tried the curry soup and there was no curry flavor at all. Our bill was $72 for two people with tip (we didn't even have drinks). At that price this should be fine dining and not lackluster. This will be my last trip to Beaufort Grocery. What it was before and built its reputation on is not what it is now. Hopefully they regroup and focus on the quality that made them a stand out in this area.

Claudia M.

Yelp
The food was delicious, but we did not enjoy it as we should have due to our Server who seemed totally disinterested in us. She acted like she was very put out to have to wait on us. Even really delicious food could not compensate for her poor attitude. The young man serving the table right next to us was the complete opposite in his demeanor.

Bob S.

Yelp
The food and service here was excellent. We had grouper sandwich that was great, crab cake sandwiches which was also delicious. Our favorite was the crab dip app which was probably the best o have had. This is a really cool place and the level of customer service, with a smile, was outstanding. Don't miss the opportunity to dine here if in the area!

Ana S.

Yelp
There is definitely a wait on weekends so prepare for it but well worth it!! We had the Rueben and the combo breakfast with blueberry pancakes and both were so delicious. Definitely will be back and try other sandwiches. Next time grabbing and going on a picnic or paddle. The staff were so friendly and kitchen was quick. Worth the wait!

Angela W.

Yelp
Today was my fifth time eating here and the food and servers have been exceptional every single time. It's hands-down my favorite place to eat in Beaufort. Lunch, Brunch or dinner! Make sure to try their desserts. They're made from scratch in house.

Joanna D.

Yelp
Overall not impressed. Waited 20 minutes for a server on the patio, no apology. As a former server for years would have at least apologized. Not vegetarian friendly at all and server gave us attitude when we asked about options. Sad as it was recommended by friends. Unlikely to return.

Mikaela B.

Yelp
100000x yes to Beaufort Grocery! This was a highly recommended spot here in beautiful Beaufort and I completely see why! What a gem. BeauGro is a quaint little delicatessen, but it's oh so much more. There is the cutest little patio out front, but it was a little chilly so we opted to dine inside. We arrived around 12:30 on a Friday, and they were busy but we were promptly seated. The place setting was so fun! Instead of napkins, they used colorful little towels and it really added a homey and unique touch. Although the restaurant was busy, the waitstaff commanded the restaurant, I saw food coming out quickly and drinks were kept full. Our server Holly was great! Despite how busy they were, I never once felt rushed. She took time to explain the menu and the specials and made sure all of our questions were answered. I asked her for a recommendation, and ended up getting the rare roast beef special she suggested and loved it! I believe their meats are Boar's Head, but regardless, it was apparent that the roast beef was high quality and it was STACKED on that delicious, fresh bread! Dressed with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and horseradish Mayo, this was a hit. I got mine with pasta salad which was a nice take on it! My mom got the Queen Anne's club and whoa! I love a good club sandwich and this one was straight fire. Toasty sourdough with tons of ham and turkey, all the fixings of a classic club, but added flair with a basil mayo. Yum! She ordered the sweet potato chips as her side and these are a knockout. Perfectly crispy with a hint of cinnamon and sugar sprinkled over top. We were raking up the crumbs with a spoon, because it was just that good. Another person in our group ordered the fish sandwich special which was mahi mahi on this particular day. It came with kimchi and a special mayo of some kind. She ordered the fish blackened and absolutely loved it! She was easily able to request sourdough bread instead of the rye it came with. Super accommodating on any substitutions. Her side was the cowboy caviar which was a black eyed pea salad. So good! We had to try their hot Carolina crab dip and I will be thinking about this crab dip daily for the next 3 months. The presentation was great, the dip was in a small cast iron and it was served with pita and lavosh crackers. I am a pita girl myself, but we devoured it all. Plenty of crab, totally cheesy and the best part - there were little cloves of roasted garlic throughout. Simply perfect. Can't forget dessert - you're greeted by a cake case when you walk in, so you have your entire meal to think about the drool worthy dessert options you've just witnessed. We opted for the bourbon pecan pie and I think my soul left my body when I tasted it. Firstly, the size of this baby! Have you ever seen a slice of pecan pie with this deep dish girth? Whew. Covered in a creamy bourbon glaze and I opted to get mine a La mode. The warm pie paired with the ice cream was an explosive combination. At this point I was so completely full I was miserable but I couldn't bear the thought of leaving a crumb of this pie. I love exploring new restaurants when I'm traveling, especially with the selection in Beaufort, but this is a place I'd come again and again.

Kelly H.

Yelp
Just walking through the door was an amazing experience. The place smells like delicious food. I sat at the bar because I was alone for work. Bartender was friendly. I got the pecan pie to go. It was so good! I'll be back next trip!

Alison M.

Yelp
This was a cute spot for lunch. It was bustling when we arrived at around 12:50pm for lunch knowing they closed at 2pm. We were promptly sat by the window and greeted by friendly servers. The lunch menu had several salads and sandwiches that looked delicious. In the end, we chose to split a cobb salad which had an amazing vinaigrette dressing that I just loved, a small cup of gumbo and a pork wrap with pimento cheese. It was yummy and I like the vibe. Kinda expensive for what it was but we enjoyed it and everything was fresh.

Christy E.

Yelp
We tried the red snapper special and it was good. Service was above average, room is loud. Certainly we'd go back again., probably mostly at a less busy time.

Rachel M.

Yelp
Delicious meal! Everything was super fresh. The best Caesar salad is here! Also, do not skip out on the in house made deserts. The key lime cheesecake was 10/10!

Elle E.

Yelp
Next time in Beaufort I can imagine coming here for all meals! What a superb lunch...expertly curated menu, with a huge range of unique sandwiches. Wish I had saved room for dessert. Kudos to the chef!

L S.

Yelp
Uneven service. Sometimes good some times terrible with the staff disappearing. Food is generally good. Told no reservations accepted for lunch unless 6 or more.

Hannah H.

Yelp
My son and I would rate a 5 but my husband and daughter would rate a 3 or 4. The shrimp and filet dinners were delicious. The ambiance is nice and clean. The waiters are attentive and professional. The pecan pie is really yummy.

Janelle C.

Yelp
Ordered the Crab Cake sandwich with sweet potato chips, Catch of the day sandwich with pasta salad, and Gumbo... the sandwiches were absolutely delicious, and the gumbo was good as well. The sweet potato chips and pasta salad - AMAZING! Super busy, so we sat at the bar and Timmy (bartender) was super friendly and attentive. We also got a HUGE slice of Pecan Pie to go. Can't wait to try it!

Charity M.

Yelp
Food is 5 stars, Service was 1 Star! Bad staff can really bring down your experience, even when the food tastes great. I called the restaurant's phone number and a woman answered. When I said I would like to place a takeout order, she hung up on me. At first I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought I had dialed the wrong number, or she couldn't hear me well, or something like that. I checked the number, it was correct, so I called again. It was the same lady that answered the 2nd time and as soon as she heard my voice she hung up again, only abruptly this time. No reason either like, "We're not doing takeout orders," or, "We're busy right now," (they weren't it was a Monday lunch.) I honestly didn't want to believe she was just that rude, and I was trying to make sense of such great reviews with such poor treatment. It also didn't make sense because their website says, "We DO NOT ACCEPT FOOD ORDERS OR RESERVATIONS THROUGH EMAIL. Call us at (252) 728-3899 for those options." I did as instructed and called them, and got hung up on twice by the same lady. It's fine if they don't want to do takeout orders, but say so. As a business that depends on customers they should treat all people well. what if I had been a food critic or someone of importance in their area. We decided to go to the restaurant in person since we were headed that way anyways. The lady at the bar took the order from my husband, and because she was on speaker phone he could identify her voice from when she answered the phone, it was the same lady. She sat two locals down and served them their drinks and food right away when they got there, but she made another guy move so they could sit where they wanted. She was definitely not a person that treats all people well. On their website they have pics of all the staff and the owners, and she was in the Front of House staff beside the redhead in the front row, and she was without glasses. Maybe she should be a kitchen staff and not be dealing with people if she doesn't know how to treat people better than that. I may consider coming back cause it could be a fluke, hoping it's her day off, because the food was excellent. If I had that experience again though I wouldn't return no matter how good the food was. We had the crab dip, Queen's Club, and the Apple Granny, all superb!

Ben M.

Yelp
Top shelf. Food, ambiance, service. We go there as much as we can and are sure to take friends because it's a guaranteed great experience. Always a line. Outstanding menu.

Alycia C.

Yelp
Tonight I had dinner with a friend on her suggestion, I have only been here for lunch and it's always delicious. This was my first dinner and it did not disappoint. Timmy was our server. He was so kind, personable, attentive and made wonderful suggestions from the menu. He is very good at describing the menu items while making them sound delicious, not just rattling them like bullet points. He very much talked me into the special with his description. We started with the cheese, my friend got the pork chops while I got the special grouper entree and we ended with the chocolate peanut butter dessert. The cheese was out of this world, that and the risotto were my favorite. I also had a white blend wine, I always get so excited to see those on a menu since I feel like it's not common. I definitely need to return with my husband for date night next time! I wish I would have taken photos but we were having such a wonderful time together.

Dj P.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised to find this hidden gem just a block off the waterfront. Menu had some items not normally seen in the area. Hard decisions starting with appetizer. Best pimento cheese I've ever tasted. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Yelp
Beaufort Grocery was high on my sister's list during our recent trip to Beaufort, NC. It was well worth the wait. I believe she first saw them on a food TV show, and it lived up to the expectation. I got the special that day -- a fresh grouper fish taco with homemade sweet potato fries. It was drool-worthy! It's just a quick walk, about a block or two, back from the main drag through Beaufort. Please take the time to eat here while in Beaufort!

Yelp
An absolutely excellent experience. Dined with them last fall and enjoyed sitting out front. Service was attentive not intrusive. Started with the saganaki cheese flamed in brandy. Spectacular presentation and very tasty. I had the pan seared shrimp and scallops in vermouth cream over pasta. I need to learn the recipe for this vermouth cream as it was to die for. Mom had the chicken saltimbocca and swore it was the best dish she had in a long time. Hubby throughly enjoyed new york strip. Cocktails and wine options very nice.

Yelp
We came here for lunch as our last stop in Beaufort before going home and it was amazing. This was probably the best meal I had the entire trip and I wish we would have tried it sooner so we could have came back! It was busy on a Sunday around noon but the wait was still very short and the service was great too.

Yelp
My friend highly recommended this restaurant. The staff was friendly but the food was overpriced and OK. I was happy that they modified a sandwich to accommodate my son's picky palate. It was expensive but he liked it which was good.

Yelp
This is the place to dine in the historic waterfront area of Beaufort! Recommend by all the locals I spoke to. Four of us had dinner last night. We didn't have reservations, so got in line at 5:30 pm when they opened for dinner. I had the braided flounder, my husband had the red snapper, and the other people with us had the scallops, oysters and shrimp. Beautiful presentation and delicious food! The tables have table cloths, cloth napkins, and nice place wear. While the restaurant was packed, it was surprisingly not too noisy. Wood chairs and benches were hard, but the tasty food makes up for it.

Yelp
This charming little spot offered outdoor seating so we took advantage of that and had a lovely spot in the shade. We started with the saganaki cheese which was flamed table side by our waitress Courtney. We hadn't tried this before and really enjoyed it, it was a hearty portion for two and we didn't end up finishing it. My husband ordered the daily special which was a lamb and goat cheese pita, the lamb was cooked perfectly! I spoke with the waitress about a few of her favorites and decided on the #8 Huey's Hacha - brisket with pimento cheese and pepper jelly, very tasty! I also upgraded my side to the broccoli salad which for me was just slightly overdressed but the broccoli was still crisp. We were so tempted to order dessert but we were just too full! I didn't go inside except to speak with the hostess upon arrival so can't comment on the cleanliness. Courtney was great at stopping by the table to check on us too. We would be happy to return! Enjoy!
