Bad Management.
I booked a basic room on Agoda, over the new year holiday. When I arrived to check in, I was informed that my room had been given to another guest, who opted to extend their stay prior to my arrival (this was approved by management, knowing I had the room booked, this was a conscious decision). I was not notified by the property prior to check-in that my room would be unavailable. I was then offered a different room for approximately double the price of my original booking. After long conversations with the receptionist, who was frequently on the phone with the manager, I decided to take the room for double the price (manager requested I cancel the booking myself on Agoda, major red flag). I was in the room for about 2 minutes, when the receptionist came back to inform me that the manager needed me to switch rooms, because the one I was given was a more expensive price. (None of this was my fault, and zero discount or accountability was taken by the manager for me not having my original booked room). I was then taken to a different room that had a view of a wall out the window, for double the price of my original booking, to which I declined. The receptionist was very apologetic, and helpful to me throughout the entire process, as all of this was out of her hands.
I recommend that if you choose to stay in this hotel, to not book online. They will not honor online bookings, and will try to upsell you to higher class rooms for more money. This was my experience.
