when i first went to beauty in the pot in 2018, i didn't really like it. food wasn't nice and menu items were limited.
7 years later, i came back today with my friend and they have vamped up the place a lot. first, there is a playground with a fun spiral slide in a room for people to play. next, the menu was much more wide range and they had a pretty good selection of food.
when the food and soup bases came, they looked very appetising. and food overall was not too bad. i ordered the tomato soup and the collagen seafood soup. the collagen seafood soup being their signature was delicious and you could definitely taste collagen being present in it, as well as some seafood flavour mainly coming from fish. however, i felt tomato soup was too pastey and not made from fresh tomatoes so it was kind of underwhelming.
for the ingredients, i got sliced pork belly, egg, prawns, rice, pig skin and ate some of my friend's american beef. american beef was clearly above average, tasty but wish there were more fats in it. pork belly was fresh and cooked perfectly, very soft and silky. egg was fresh and tasty. prawns were okay, much better than haidilao but sadly they were farmed and not from the sea, so it lacks that sweetness element but they are succulent and had flavour. rice was alright and of a pretty decent grade but slightly undercooked.
staff were also friendly and gave us a free yuzu drink without sugar. it was very refreshing and quenched my thirst. it tasted pretty good but i felt it was too icy. they had the membership where you can claim points and we were given a voucher of min spend $80 sgd and we could minus off $37 sgd from our bill.
good experience, will come back again. definitely better than haidilao which seriously doesn't taste good, fails and misses the mark.
