Where to See the Northern Lights in the United States

"An island in Lake Michigan holding Dark Sky Sanctuary status, offering serene, low-light horizons and island vistas that can produce striking aurora views when solar storms make them visible this far south." - Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca is an award-winning journalist and co-founder of Be a Travel Writer, an online course for the next generation of travel journalists. I absolutely love visiting the island! What a slice of heaven. Can't wait to be back very soon.

My husband and I rented a lakehouse on this beautiful island in Lake Michigan. It was the best vacation we have taken as a couple without the kids. We went last summer and we have been dreaming about going back ever since. Lots of places to Rockhound, beaches, lighthouses. There is only 1 road that has a grocery store, bar, gift shops...etc. They all close super early, and their necessities, like groceries and gas, are very expensive. So, I suggest bringing your own groceries if possible. It's a very small island with BIG views. You will see wildlife, there are Beavers, lol, Snakes, lots of Deer, Turtles, Birds, etc. There are beautiful Woods, beaches, a huge rock (is a landmark there) It's quiet and slow and if you love the outdoors and no neighbors then you will enjoy this peaceful little Island. You can only reach it by a very very small plane, or a 32 mile (2hour) ferry ride. We chose the Ferry because we wanted our car and the boat accommodates taking your car over. I could go on and on about Beaver Island. We will be back there very soon.

You can only get there by air or by ferry. People are very nice but pretty cut off from the rest of the world. I think they like it that way. Expect prices to be higher because it is an island

Probably the New Corse , in 2075 it gonna have like 1 -2 months with 30•Celsius with no dangerous sharks (small or medium sized not agressive basking sharks ,probably ) also the water gonna be salty .

What can I say. It is southern hospitality up north. Planning to retire up there and enjoy the island life. Some peaceful scenery

We are 'regular' visitors here (twice a season for many, many years) and it's just as awesome & beautiful each time; NEVER gets old. If you are looking for a place that is tranquil, quiet & beautiful, this is the place!

The beautiful backroads are what makes this Island magical.
