A Love Letter to Canada’s Vast Culinary Landscape

"An oft-cited, classic Canadian treat that inspires national pride; considered a cliché for a reason, it’s one of the comfort-food items the author happily indulges in with gusto and is frequently listed among recommended food souvenirs." - Gail Simmons

BeaverTails 🦫 is the perfect carnival dessert! It's a massive scone covered with all the things your hips enjoy. The Apple Pie was bomb. A beavertail is easily shareable, though I hoarded it all to myself without a shred of guilt. Are they overpriced? Of course. There's not a single food item in Lagoon Amusement Park that isn't. But it was easily the most satisfying overpriced purchases of the day. I'll be ordering one of these bad boys again on a future visit.

A little overpriced for essentially a small piece of frybread with cream cheese sauce and cookie crumbs. The flavor wasn't bad, just a little messy. If it was half the price I'd feel a little better about it.

We tried the Triple Trip and Apple Pie and they were the highlight of our Lagoon trip.

This is essentially a scone shop with various toppings. Their flavors are; cinnamon sugar, banana hazelnut, m&m, oreo cheesecake, among others. It is pretty overpriced at almost $10 for one.. I also think these things are overly sweet for what they are. This is a perfect example of fair food. If you are having a sweet tooth, I would recommend going next door and getting a shake, cinnamon roll, or caramel apple instead.

Employees don't wear gloves when massaging the scone dough into shape. Gross. Hands excrete oils 100% of the time.

My BeaverTail was so good! I got the Strawberry Cheesecake one and it was fantastic!

The portion of the Beaver Tail is microscopic for what you pay for 🥲

A bit slow. The staff took a long time to prep everything but the food was good

Yelp
The tails themselves were ok, nothing special, basic flavorless scone dough. The toppings nothing more than a snack isle ingredient that are overly sweet. The main issue was the staff. Being at Lagoon, I don't expect urgency. However, the issue was the staff man-handling the dough with no gloves. It was nasty, he was just standing there chatting with his buddies and playing with the dough like it was the newest fidget spinner. Using his gloveless digits going from the grimy register machine right back to the dough. Lucky it was fried at the end, it was hard to overcome the thought of the dough sticking between his fingers and nails. Not recommend, especially for other sweet options at Lagoon.
