According to my 12 year old son “it was worth the 20 minute walk.” Lovely ambiance and great food. Good value for money. We’ll be coming back next time we’re in Ubud.

We came here today for dinner at 5pm because of their famous duck dish Timbungan. The menu did show it as a today special. However, when I ordered it, a staff said they did not have it without explaining why. They should remove this item from the menu if they did not have it. Being disappointed, I had to ordered the crispy duck one since the staff told me it was a must try dish. Here is our rating for the food. 1/ Crispy duck: 4/5 The duck was well marinated, neither too salty nor too bland. However the frying process made some parts of the meat burnt and really crunchy dry. The other meat part was ok, moist but not much meat to enjoyed since the duck was rather skinny. The red sauce was ok, not too spicy for me. The green bean and bean sprout salad was also ok. The steam rice was dry. Personally, I think this dish was just so so. Plus, the presentation was not really appealing to me. 2/ The Nasi Goreng vegetarian was good. My friend enjoyed it. He said the fried rice had a nice flavor. 3/ The Nasi Goreng with duck meat was also ok. They mixed small shreded duck meat with the fried rice. My friend who is a Balinese said this dish to him was a 4/5. At the end of the meal, I ordered their also "must try" Black Russian pie. Once again, they did not have it. I think I have picked a wrong day to come here. The restaurant has a gorgeous rice field view. The garden was also beautiful with statues lotus ponds and lush green plants around. It was a very well kept venue. I would give 5/5 for the atmosphere. In addition, staff here were also very polite and attentive. I would give them also a 5/5. Overall, it was just a so so dinner. If you really want to try their Bebek Bungil Timbungan, call them (WhatsApp) first before coming. Otherwise, you will be disappointed like me.

One of the classics. They serve crispy duck, along with traditional Balinese vegetables and sambals. It’s one of the few places that is a must-visit, even though I’ve been in Bali quite a few times. Love the rice fields and the plants throughout the restaurant. Highly recommend to sit in one of their “saungs” as well, instead of an ordinary table, to get the whole Bali/nature experience

We tried crispy and traditional duck. Both are good, really love the chili sauce go with the crispy. If you can eat, should try. It is perfect match with the dish. The price is around 150 IDP per dish which is a little high for a normal meal in Bali yet the portion is big and worth a try in total.

First meal back in Bali after two years, and unfortunately, it was a letdown. Despite the many glowing reviews, the experience didn’t live up to the hype. Their signature crispy duck—supposed to be a highlight—arrived cold and dry, lacking the tenderness and flavor I was expecting. The chicken satay was equally underwhelming, tasting no better than something you’d find at a generic buffet. Overall, the place felt like a tourist trap banking on its reputation rather than delivering genuine quality. Disappointing start to the trip, and we likely won’t be returning.

We tried the ‘Ayam Betutu’ and green avocado salad and it was more than enough for four people. The accompanying sauces are quite spicy. The atmosphere is beautiful. Definitely worth trying!

The Go-To Spot for Authentic Crispy Duck in Bali! If you’re in Bali and want to try the famous crispy duck dish, this is the place to go. 🍽️🦆 Authentic, flavorful, and perfectly cooked — it’s a unique local specialty and absolutely worth trying at least once. Highly recommended for food lovers looking to experience traditional Balinese flavors at their best!

The moctails were great. The seafood dish was very overcooked and dry. The cmpked duck was TASTY! The crispy duck was ok.
