HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR JAZZ LOVERS! I grew up on the rhythms of jazz and live music. Today my spirit soared as I wandered through the birthplace of Bossa Nova—Brazilian jazz in its truest form—at Beco das Garrafas (“Alley of Bottles”) and got to experience first hand the intoxicating tunes of Copacabana 🎶🇧🇷 we got entrance to both bottles bar and little club for a $10 USD cover, the food and cocktails were exceptional and very low priced for the portion sizes. The staff were super friendly and hard working and they all surprisingly spoke English!

Bossa Nova music.....the taste of Rio Great little quirky venue. Enjoyed it thoroughly, if I wasn't so tired from travelling I would come back again. Definitely recommend visiting if you like the music

I'm so happy I found this place. This was the best spot I found for live music while I was in Rio de Janeiro. My wife, my brother and myself saw a fabulous Bossa Nova band at the smaller stage/bar at 11pm and the band was incredible. Beco das Garrafas really exceeded expectations. It was a music first experience, rather than a place were people eat and they just happen to have people playing in the background. Staff was very kind in spite of our extremely limited Portuguese and made us great martinis!

What a jewel! I wanted to listen to Bossanova in a small club with atmosphere, and I was so pleased I found this place. Great performance by Yumi Park and Bossa & Elis. Nibbles and drinks available to accompany you in the evening. Well done to you all.

Google
Legendary music venues with epic music! Such historic significance, with some of the biggest names in Bossa Nova having played Bottle Bar and Little Club. We were in Rio de Janeiro for a week and visited four nights to enjoy seeing four unique, talented artists in an intimate setting. If you want to go see live music in Rio de Janeiro, go check out the clubs on this alley! Both have great sound, good food and drink, friendly staff, and of course incredible music.

I don't know why Beco Das Garrafas is not known all around the globe! Cradle of Bossa Nova, refuge for some of the greatest artists of the last century. I stumbled upon this bar after a business dinner: listening to live Bossa Nova was on my must-see items while in Rio, Jade and her band did not dissapoint. They are two venues next to each other, we paid a 50 BRL entrance fee.

Google
Almost perfect experience but waiters should lower their voices during their service and be more discreet so to not obstruct/distract the concert with payments matters and other stuff (like going back and forth with drinks in front of the stage instead of going from the back). These bad habits destroy the atmosphere and the magical vibes that the musicians create

Yelp
Visiting from Miami. This is where Bossa Nova started! We have been two nights. There is a 50R Cover. The shows have been really good. The best was Marcos Ariel. Staff is all super friendly. Solid Caipirinhas, bar food was delicious. Try the Brazilian Cheese, Sausage, Cod balls, breaded shrimps. Good Air Conditioning. Really relaxed and enjoyable Brazilian Jazz and Classic Bossa Nova Samba in an intimate environment. Don't miss this temple to Bossa Nova Samba

Yelp
Was in Rio for a couple of days and was looking for live bossa nova music. Good recommendation from the hotel receptionist. Did not disappoint! Cozy place, great service. Really enjoyed the music.

Yelp
I Came here for Sunday night Jazz. The venue is very causal and intimate, maybe about 40 seats. The acoustics are great and the band playing is very talented. Didn't get his name but apparently the drummer plays with some famous people. The venue is located on a pedestrian street (meaning no vehicles ). The host /server was very hospitable and friendly. There is a small charge of about 40 Reais to enter and of course you buy drinks to support the house which if I may add are very affordable. Would I return? definitely!

Yelp
Been here 5 times, never knowing who was singing or playing. And never disappointed!!!! Very small for a club - maybe 100 people. I've met musicians and singers, journalists and writers, just hanging out at the bar. Mostly bossa nova and samba. Saw Jussara Silveira the other night, Mark Isbell a few months ago, Miele, Amanda Bravo... It's Brasilian music in an intimate atmosphere - just like it was meant to be heard.
