Bed & Breakfast Afloat | Unique Boston Waterfront Stay

My Husband and I just arrived home from spending 3 wonderful days aboard the Harbor View. I booked this trip to celebrate our anniversary, and it was one of the best experiences we've ever had. The walk to the boat is a bit of a trek from the Marina office, but once we arrived, it was worth it, plus, a good opportunity to walk off the wonderful meals we had in town. Thank you B&B Afloat Boston for making our anniversary a memorable one.

The Bed and Breakfast Afloat in Constitution Harbor was an amazing! We were in town for the 129th Boston Marathon that my daughter was running in! We rented 3 different boats and enjoyed having our family all on one spot. The location was top notch. We were in the heart of Boston and were able to walk or take a subway to anywhere we wanted to go. We took the Red Boat water Taxi from the airport right to the dock it was so easy. The views from the harbor during the daylight and nightfall were so fun to see the changes! We could see Paul Reveere’s North Church in North end, The Garden and much more. Billy from the Bed and Breakfast went above and beyond to make our stay special. He greeted us when we were coming back from the race he was excited to hear about how she did and all about the race. The hospitality that the Bed and Breakfast and the city of Boston bestowed on us was remarkable. We also enjoyed going to Emmi’s a restaurant close to the marina where the Bed and Breakfast gives you a voucher towards your breakfast! We will be back! Till we meet again THANKYOU

Spent a night on the boat "Inn the Moment" possibly the best of the B&B boats at the marina. It's all about the location, while a decent walk from the marina office, this location provides a special view of the North End of Boston, USS Constitution, Old North Curch (of Paul Revere's Ride fame). The boat easily slept the 2 of us (separate rooms), very cozy living space (salon), and some very nice outdoor spaces. Linens were plush, decor simple and understated, but very nice. The marina is close to some very nice restaurants including an innovative Italian restaurant "Prima" ($$$). Emmi the breakfast restaurant part of the "B&B" has some nice breakfast offerings, and apparently has just started offering omelets. The marina includes a pool and laundry facilities if needed (on land). Hope to stay here again!

Overall 99% happy with our choice to book here and the overall experience. |If you’re a tourist and not familiar with Boston this place is easy enough to find as long as your gps is working. That being said the information they give you in order to check in is thorough enough and precise but it is a little vague. There is literally no parking around unless you pay for it . So my advice to travellers is to drop your partner off to go to the harbour masters office to check in and you circle the block or park illegally at a near by hotel until you see your partner to pick up lol. I think they should give better instructions on how to access the parking for the Marina in their emails. They should also tell you how much parking is per night / day so it’s not a surprise when you leave .||Getting past this minor thing, service was great. We had an employee allow us entry to the secure dock area and walk us to the yacht we had rented. |Once there she went in and explained every thing we needed to know about the boat and the services they provided.|This is Wow experience ! and way better than a hotel room for about the same money! |Having no idea about Boston , the office staff were very friendly assisting us on how and where we needed to catch the”T” to get to Fenway. Easy peasy from this location! |“The boat” wow , older but still in great shape. It could accommodate up to four people . We were shown our area and the brochure Indicated if you used the un rented space you would be charged a fee. Understandably ok. Our space consisted of a stateroom with a queen bed and a private bath. The common area to both rental cabins was a nice sitting area and a kitchen equipped with microwave and fridge with freezer. |We had use of all the decks outside. It was marvellous to sit on the decks enjoying the spectacular harbour views and pretending we were the owners of this gorgeous boat. |Not only do you get this great experience, but they provide you with breakfast vouchers for this quaint little bistro just a quick 5 minute walk away which was amazing.|They also provided you with discount vouchers for an Italian restaurant should you choose to dine out. |They provided coffee for the on board coffee maker and enough creamers in the fridge to last your stay. Also in the fridge was a couple of complimentary bottles of water. When you checked in you were giving a little gift bag that included a few small snacks and other little trinkets.||“About the place in general”|It’s a secure dock . You need a key to get in. You could leave your boat unlocked if you choose because nobody messes with someone else’s boat. You can’t cook on your boat but they offer bbq grills up by the pool to cook your meal . This is a nice way to meet people while you cook. The pool, was a nice in ground and heated. ( mid 70’s maybe 80) pool with enough chairs and loungers for the people that used it. |Carts were available to carry your belongings to your rental. It was a Quiet peaceful retreat . |You are virtually right on the freedom trail.|if you want to see something else on the water there is a ferry terminal minutes away.|if you want to catch a Bruins game or a Celtics game your minutes away. If none of this interests you can walk along the waterfront and enjoy the wonderful parks . There is an American tall ship ( US Constitution museum ) about a seven minute walk ||So now the 1% negative , being a stones throw from the freedom trail they should have freedom trail maps available for their visitors who like us knew nothing about Boston . That being said though , the staff were very friendly and willing to answer questions. || Long and short … My wife is already talking about returning to this location to catch another Jays game and staying here. I shouldn’t say that though in order to keep this hidden gem a secret

I had a party of 4 and we enjoyed it immensely. Very clean and the staff was very accommodating. I highly recommend this instead of getting a room in boston. Great location but there is a lot of walking.

What a unique (and frankly romantic) experience for myself and my boyfriend. We wanted to make a pitstop in Boston on our way to Portland, Maine and thought this would be a fun location to stay. We were not disappointed! The staff was super helpful and very polite. We loved our stay on the sailboat. The room was nice and felt very cozy. The marina itself is super quiet and has a beautiful view of the USS Constitution and harbor. Stay here if you want a fun and unique lodging experience!

We spent four nights aboard the Port houseboat. What a great place to stay! Melissa and the rest of the staff are friendly and helpful. This is a very small guest room but the addition of both the covered and uncovered decks make it seem much roomier. The double bed is super comfy and being on the water rocks you to sleep! This is a great location for visiting Boston as you can walk to many attractions. The USS Constitution is just up the street and you can see the historic boat from the end of “your” dock. Included with the stay are breakfast coupons for the bakery across the street and some other discounts for a few local restaurants. Would absolutely stay there if we visit Boston in the future and would recommend Bed and Breakfast Afloat to anyone planning a holiday to Boston! Loved it!!

I stayed at Constitution Marina while in town to run the Boston Marathon, and it was nothing short of AMAZING.This location could not have been more perfect for easy access to historical attractions, countless restaurants, and breathtaking views night and day. It allowed me to fully experience Boston without having to walk too much before and after the race. Throughout the week we stayed, the weather went from hot to cold and rainy, and these accommodations were perfect for both. The Blue Waters has a beautifully covered area up top to congregate that was cool in the heat with the windows open, and cozy during the cold/rain with them closed. The boat was clean, welcoming, and left us lacking nothing! The linens were crisp and the memory foam mattress was so comfortable. The staff was friendly and professional. The dock was very easy to maneuver, and everyone was so welcoming. We will certainly be back again! Thank you for the experience of a lifetime!

Staying at the Constitution Bed and Breakfast Afloat was great. My gf and I traveled to meet up w/ family for the Boston Marathon and stayed on the Seaclusion boat. It was super clean, cozy, and well put together. The views from the boat and marina were serene. The location was perfect. Next to the TD Gardens Sports arena, and within walking distance of Tatte Cafe, and plenty of other eateries and shops. We emerge able to experience things like Fenway Park, the duck tour, and the Boston Marathon with a quick Uber ride. Being able to come back home to our peaceful vessel to wind down was a nice comfort. Overall, very unique stay and worth it! Would recommend.

This is a great place to stay. We stayed on "Blue Waters" and found nothing but peace and relaxation. Starting on a boat is a unique experience and one I'm so glad we decided on. The marina is clean and well kept. Breakfast was delicious and there were many items to choose from. The location of the Airbnb was close enough to walk to everything we wanted to see.

Took 2 teens and a 6 yr old on a last minute to look at Boston colleges this past spring. The rooms in town that were left were either super expensive or super dingy. So happy when I found this alternative. I was a little skeptical at 1st but it was awesome! So awesome that when we returned to Boston for a day this week we stayed here again, in the same exact boat... "Out of the woods". On our 1st trip there the weather was rainy and we were delayed because of traffic but the kind sirs checked us in through a locked gate, rolled our luggage to boat and showed all the gadgets. The boat has 2 bedrooms, 2 showers, supplied w full kitchen, coffee, water bottles, lots of towels. There's a pool, and lots of grills if you choose to use them. They also have beautiful showers in the marina office building. This past week we were familiar with the area so it was like going home. We parked in the lot 1st because parking is validated by B&B. It was too early to check in so we walked to Little Italy, had a awesome meal, and did some shopping. You can easliy walk to Quincy Market from here too... it's actually on the Freedom Trail! We taxied over to Fenway that night, learning on our 1st trip that taxis in Boston are actually cheaper than parking fees. They give you a breakfastcredit for a nearby coffee shop for breakfast the next morning. Such a great, fun way to stay... as long as the season permitts, we will be back!

Booked this place for my parents last year when they were visiting my during my college break. Was very happy to see them so satisfied with hotel's service and its overall healthy policy. Definitely would recommend to everyone looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in Boston.

CONSTITUTION MARINA Early Fall 2011 - Bed & Breakfast Afloat Experience My friend and I recently had the pleasure of visiting the city of Boston for a combination business/relaxation weekend away. During a prior visit, and while walking the docks at the marina, I recalled seeing these quaint floating houseboats that could be rented for over-night visits. I became very excited at the thought, and contacted the marina to schedule the visit. My friend and I had the opportunity to stay aboard two of the houseboats. Never having stayed overnight on the water, we had no idea what to expect. Our excitement was validated with every journey to and from our houseboat. We were pleased with all of the amenities which matched any top notch hotel room we've ever visited. We had a variety of weather, including thunderstorms, which brought more excitement to the experience. The very mild sea movement rocked us to sleep each night, and the secure environment allowed us to capture the rest we needed. It is obvious that this marina caters to their visitors and boaters by providing a comfortable, safe, and clean environment. You couldn't ask for a better location to stay in the city, and how lucky to have the beautiful view of the harbor right outside your door. We'll be back!! Laurie C

We stayed in the casita float! I'm so glad I found this place. So the breakfast part you get a $7 voucher to sorelle across the street. Which we used once on our two night stay. Tv is very small but has cable. They had a little heater that did the work! Wifi was fast! Usually free wifi sucks. I love this whole scene. Being in the casita room is a far walk for a rainy day, but I didn't mind at all. They had two gates so you don't always have to walk through the main one. I would do this all over again but maybe an actual boat next time!

We recommend B&B Afloat without hesitation. As landlubbers, we lived the life as if we were boat owners for 2 wonderful days! We were 2 couples and had plenty of indoor and outdoor living space on Out of the Woods. The boat is fully equipped with drinkable running water and hot showers, TV, coffee and ice for drinks, in the full kitchen. All the comforts of home. We even brought fishing poles! Lots of perks: free parking, breakfast certificates at the local coffee spot, outdoor POOL, bbq grills, 20% off dinner at an old Paul Revere hangout pub. The marina is walking distance to the USS Constitution and ferry to the aquarium (& Quincy Market etc) across the bridge from great cappuccino in the North End. It is located on the Freedom Trail. We never needed the car. Why would you want to stay in a hotel room when you have this alternative? Just don't come when I want to book again!

We stayed on Port over Labor Day weekend and it was amazing. The views are the best you can get. The boat we stayed on was very nice, clean and perfect for an overnight stay. We were able to walk to the end of the pier and see the USS Constitution in all her glory. The price was very reasonable for what we had. At night the harbor was all lit up and was just spectacular. Back on land there is a pool with a deck and grills. The location is ideal. We had dinner in the North End and walked backed to our boat. We will be coming back and staying on another boat next time we come up. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

Great Customer Service. We were very excited to stay on one of their houseboats and looked forward to taking the water taxi from the airport right to the marina. However, unfortunately our reservation was canceled just 5 days before our arrival. Now that was very disheartening, but the management of the Constitution bed and breakfast came through, by booking us with replacement accommodations, and paying for the difference for the upgrade. I would be more upset about the short notice cancelation; but with the unique situation of having a limited number of units (boats and houseboats available), I suppose there is not much that can be done if there is a problem with one of the vessels. I'm sad we won't get to spend the night on the house boat; but am very happy with the customer service.

So much more than we expected..experienced Boston from a whole new perspective..top notch..beautifully appointed boat and totally professional lovely staff..thank you for a beautiful long weekend

Unique accommodations! Staying on the water with fantastic views. Not for everyone, but great for us! We stayed at the Constitution Marina's Bed and Breakfast Afloat for a two night anniversary getaway. We stayed in the "Port" a small houseboat with a full size bed, full bath with hot water, cable-TV, fridge, and VCR. The houseboat is supplied with fresh linens, towels, soap, shampoo, hairdryer, drinking water, coffee pot (and supplies for the coffee pot), iron and small ironing board. The "Port" has two outside chairs located outside of the houseboat via a sliding glass door and an additional outside table with chairs located in front of the houseboat. The "Port" was basically a bedroom on the water with great views of the Boston Harbor. The "Port" had a little unpleasant odor (not sure if it was from stale smoke or a mildew odor or a combination of both) but the houseboat was clean. Vouchers ($6.00 per person, per night) are given for breakfast at Sorelle's coffee shop which is nearby the marina. We stayed at the B&B Afloat early June and it was very quiet on the houseboat and around the marina. The Marina has a small outdoor swimming pool and a sunning deck. The walk from the gate of the marina to the houseboat is about a five minute stroll. I would not recommend the houseboat for handicapped persons nor for anyone expecting luxury. I would describe staying on the houseboat as "deluxe camping" with a comfortable bed. We were staying during the NBA finals - Boston Celtics Vs Los Angeles Lakers and could see the TD Banknorth Garden from the houseboat. It is less than a fifteen minute walk to the TD Banknorth Garden. We were quoted $12.00 per night to park but we were able to have our ticket validated at the marina and the parking was free (I believe because it was off-season?). The Marina is located in Boston's Charlestown neighborhood and is very close to the USS Constitution and the USS Constitution Museum which are on the Boston's Freedom Trail. Both are free for visitors and worth a visit. The Bunker Hill Monument which is also part of the Freedom Trail is about a 15 minute walk. We attempted to take the Inner harbor ferry which I would estimate as a ten-fifteen minute walk from the Constitution Marina but we arrived for the ferry around 8:30 PM and it was too late for the last ferry. Boston's North End, the Rose Kennedy Greenway, and Boston's North Station (MBTA's Green Line T subway and the MBTA's commuter rail stops), are all about a 10-20 minute walk from the marina. The Marriott Residence Inn located adjacent to the marina has a casual cafe and is open for lunch and dinner. The Residence Inn also has soda, beer, ice cream, snacks, etc., available for purchase till 1 AM. The Constitution Marina's Bed and Breakfast Afloat is great choice for budget travelers or an adventurous couple.

We stayed on "Port" a little houseboat just the perfect size for the two of us. The marina was an ideal location for us. The hosts are friendly and helpful. It was great to be able to start walking The Freedom Trail right from our marina. Port had a very comfy bed, adequate storage and a nice bathroom. The chairs, flowers and dining area on our own deck was lovely to look at. Cold weather so we did not dine out. The breakfast deal at Sorelle bakery was workable.

Terrific experience-- stunning waterfront views of the North End, Zakim Bridge, passing ships, other sights and sounds. Extremely comfortable but access is not barrier-free. Uneven dock planks, ramps, decks make lots of opportunities for stumbling. Also creaks, splashes, seagulls; low tide smells. But for those who love the water, the ambience is wonderful. Be forewarned-- it's really on the water!

Loved, loved, loved the Sea Chalet. Visited with friends King Neptune and the Queen of the Sea this weekend at the Marina and they treated me to this adorable floating suite...Its amazing just how much they were able to fit into this floating inn. The Bed was comfy, terrific lighting, AC, bath, decor and even the outside "veranda" to sit and sip coffee and watch the time go by. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be rocked to sleep!

We recently had a couple of days rest and relaxation at the Constiution Marina staying aboard one of the house boats. The accommodation in "Port" was very comfortable, it even had a bath tub. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any inquiries we had. A good tip we received was that there is a public transport water shuttle from the USS Constitution to the Aquarium area for $1.60, Water Taxis are far more expensive. We would certainly consider staying at this marina again.

Place is awesome. Better than renting a standard hotel room in the summer. staff was perfect, place was clean, perfect location. and free breakfast across the docks. cant go wrong. will definitely stay again. Perfect for two people looking for a weekend somewhere in the city on the water.

Wonderful time, much rather stay here than a hotel. It was great weather so we loved sitting on the boat watching other boats come in and out. Walking distance to many rest/bars. Water Taxi will pick you up at your boat so that was really nice!

We stayed in Dreams Builder. Way better than your usual hotel room. Beautiful accommodations, great indoor and outdoor space. Excellent service. Highly recommend!
