Experience a cozy stay in a charming 19th-century B&B with high ceilings, canal views, and a delightful heated pool, all hosted by the welcoming Michaëla.
I spent a lovely week in Gent, staying at Michaëla's guest house. It is conveniently located near to Gent-Dampoort railway station, and the historic city center is only a 10-15 minute walk. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and Michaëla and Erik made me feel very welcome.

We spent four nights at this elegant period house overlooking a canal and in a low traffic area about 15-20 minutes easy walk from the centre of Ghent. It is very near Dampoort Station and there are frequent buses to and from the centre. Michaela was an ideal host: she provided an exceptional continental breakfast with a wide choice of food, home-made preserves and eggs cooked to order. She was available to talk and gave us helpful information. More than that, we felt we learnt something from her about actually living in Ghent. Our bedroom on the second floor was large and quirkily and comfortably furnished. The only drawback for some might be that the loos are across the corridor.

Their house is fantastic and the room with Vietnamese decoration very comfortable.
The homemade breakfast with different kind of Belgian cheeses, daily breads, fruit jams, fruits, cereals, thees was superb.
We realy enjoyed our stay in Michaëla and Erik house.
Definately we recommend their bed and breakfast.

The best B&B we have ever been! Michaela and her family are super attentive and sweet. A beautiful house, decorated in worldly style. The rooms are large and clean. We slept perfect, dark in the morning, not too hot. Soft beds, a place to sit, and attached shower. We loved the pool, we were lucky to have nice weather. Breakfast was abundant, good coffee! The city center is a 5 min walk, but quiet in the night. We even parked for free closed by. This is a top 10 location for the city of Gent for anybody visiting. We had a great time and are definitely coming back!

I had an absolutely lovely week with Michaëla and her family. Breakfasts were amazing, with delicious coffee, homemade jam, fresh breads, and a kind attention my food allergies. Room was clean and comfortable. Street is quiet and beautiful, only about a 15-min walk to city center. Will definitely stay here again if I ever make it back to Ghent. Thank you, Michaëla!

We spent a wonderful weekend at Michaëla‘s place and enjoyed our few days in Ghent very much.
From the lavish homemade breakfast buffet with freshly baked goods, the quiet backyard with an a pool to the interior design of the house, our expectations were completely exceeted!
Michaëla and her family kindly showed us around, recommended us restaurants and places to go in the city and were happy to chat about anything and everything.
There is nothing left to wish for, it was top notch.
We felt welcomed all the time and would be more than happy to come back.
Best wishes,
Jens, Franka and Clara

This is a b&b located in a historic town house, and it's beautiful. The rooms are large, with high ceilings, clean, airy, ours having a view of the swimming pool (which is kept warm all year round so you can take a dip in it whenever you like). Michaela is an excellent host, and a lovely person. When we come to Gent again, we will stay here again.

We spent three days at the Big Sleep last month. ||||First, about the place. We stepped off the train and within a couple of minutes walking we were at the Big Sleep. The house is a heritage home facing a canal. The decore in the rooms can best be described as eclectic or maybe bohemian, reflecting the tastes and travels of Micheala, the host. The rooms are large by European standards. Each room has an en suite shower. The toilets, however, are across the hall from the bedrooms. The dining area and lounging areas are located in two magnificent old drawing rooms. There is a lovely patio/garden area with, surprisingly, a pool. In general the B & B exudes the comfortable feel of a real home and an old one at that- somewhat creaky, definitely not sleek, but also definitely atmospheric. ||||Second, the breakfasts are fabulous. The usual breads, cheeses, eggs, meats, coffee, pastry, cereal choices. However, the coffee is great, the fresh pastries and breads come from a local bakery and Michaela cooks the eggs to order. Michaela knows food.||||Third, the owner. Michaela is a charming and genuinely interested host. We learned a lot about Ghent, were pointed towards excellent restaurants and left the breakfast table conversations with reluctance. ||||Great stay.
