Stayed here 2 nights and we were exceptionally pleased with the location, the comfort, and the great price of thisB&B. We were in the "Red Studio" and were very happy with our accommodations. First, get driving/parking instructions prior to arrival. It's a bit hard to find. Basically, it's right across from the daily fruit/veg market and just below the castle and funicular. It's the very last alley you can drive into before you enter the pedestrian only old town. If driving, you can temporarily park in front of the property to unload your luggage. Check-in was very friendly and a cell phone is left in your room to contact a host with any questions or problems at any time. The building is over 400 years old, so there is no elevator. Be prepared to carry your luggage up 3 steep flights of stairs. In our room, the air conditioning was wonderful, the bed was comfy and the shower was nice. If you exit the property, you walk just a few steps and you're at the Dragon Bridge. A few steps the other way, and you're in the pedestrian only Old Town. A few more steps behind the property and you're at the funicular for the castle. It was nice to spend a few hours in the Old Town and then not have to walk far to come back and rest a bit, and then go out later. We were very pleased with Petra Varl and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in a nice place on a budget.

I say "hidden" as it took me a little while to find, as the shuttle could not go in the street (and courtyard) where the B&B is located. But once I found it, was welcomed warmly and shown to my room (mini studio on top floor). They have a cell phone to you to use, which I did when my transfer to the airport called them. The room and bathroom were very basic and since there is no "breakfast" per se, they stock the small kitchenette with coffee, tea, bread, milk, cereal, etc. It was perfect to wake up and have a leisurely breakfast and coffee without getting dressed! The room was clean, but some water damage on the bathroom floor outside of the shower. The location is perfect as it's beside the funicular that goes up to the castle and right beside the outdoor markets. It was also very quiet at night. I had a very early flight and while I had to wait for my shuttle about 1/2 block from the B&B, I felt safe at 4:30am. Good value for Ljubliana and the staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful.

The staff were amazing and very accommodating when we arrived earlier than expected. We were in a room called the small studio and it definitely was small. The bathroom was extremely small; there was the shower space for one person and then the toilet. Maybe the review would have been a 4 if we had a different room. The room was very clean. One thing that could improve the room is putting in sun blocking curtains as the sunlight is very bright early in the morning. Also no fault of the owners but the lane you walk through to enter the property smelt of rubbish. The B&B is in a good central location opposite the weekend markets and close to the major landmarks.

We stayed in the "studio w/kitchen" last night; what a great place! We couldn't be happier; nice setting - small kitchenette with a table for 2 by the window for a little breakfast with a view. The studio is on the top floor with a nice view of the courtyard downstairs, very quiet, located in the heart of Ljubljana, directly across from the farmers' market (open from 7am to 4pm - a delight to the senses), a few steps from the cathedral, from the castle, and from everything Ljubljana has to offer, day and night. We loved our stay there. Jasmina was very welcoming and accommodating. We Highly recommend it.

I stayed in the small studio with balcony for 3 nights at the beginning of October. The location was perfect! It took me a bit to find it but remembering pictures that other reviewers posted was helpful. When leaving the train station just walk across the dragon bridge then turn right at the end of the street. It is in a little courtyard below the castle hill. You can walk out the door and be right in the main area. The staff were friendly and the room had everything you need for your stay.

We are currently staying in the B &B and are extremely sarisfied. The studio is big enough with a good kitchenette. The food that is packed in the fridge for breakfast is plentiful. The room is clean and the reception staff helpful and friendly. It is opposite the fresh fruit market and 100m from the dragon bridge. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay.

A 15-20 min walk from bus/train station. Right in the old town, very close to the castle funicolare and numerous of bars and restaurants. Enterence is thru a courtyard and does not look much from outside but rooms are great with AC and a small kitchen. The hostess who checked us in on arrival was very friendly and informative. Prepare your own breakfast is included, if you want something else there are several supermarkets nearby.

very nice and comfortable accomodation in the centre of the old town of Ljubliana, situated in the backyard of a restaurant. nicely equipped room with up-to-date bathroom. the breakfast (which you can find in the fridge) is a bit poor, but within a short distance by foot you can find some nice cafés. no parking! best to park your car is at the main station, which is about 15 minutes afoot, but the cheapest possible. old town, cathedral, markets, creative artful shops, street-music, lovely small alleys and lots more all nearby to be conquered by foot! lovely and polite people. I'll be soon coming back! ♥
