Bed and Breakfast Plaza Italia

What an incredible experience! I was instantly greeted by Mercedes, a magical soul, who sat me down, gave me some water which was very welcome after a long day of travel, and checked me in while simultaneously giving me a nice rundown of Argentinian history and culture. Amazing! Mercedes is truly an incredible person. Javier, her son, who lives off-site, was simultaneously in contact with me every step of the way, and guided me with any questions or issues I might have had. They offer a nice full-day guided wine tasting paired with a 5-course meal, however I was the only one staying there on the first day so it wasn't the best fit, but Javier recommended to me a tour company that he loves that did wine tours, and this was so kind. I ended up doing a short wine and olive oil tour through a small company just because I was reeling from lots of travels and hiking previously so I really needed to rest, and B&B Plaza Italia was the perfect oasis for me.||A beautiful breakfast was offered every morning, with eggs, bread, pastries, ham, cheese, yogurt, granola, & juice. Delicious! Mercedes let me continually fill up my water bottle from the cold fridge water as it was fairly warm to hot outside. Also she gave me so many great recommendations for places to go in Mendoza, things to see, and restaurants to try. She recommended three restaurants in particular, I tried all of them, and they were spectacular. On top of this she wanted to get my opinion on all of them after I had tried them, which showed that she really cared about what people thought and how they experienced the city and its wonderful culture and food. ||I will never forget my time at B&B Plaza Italia and I will definitely be back!

Can’t get much better of a location - right off the plaza and a couple of blocks to the main city plaza. My flight got in very late, and they were extremely accommodating to me, with the owner waiting up until I arrived at 1AM to let me in and show me around. She was very warm and friendly, answered my questions and made sure I was comfortable. Thank you for a great stay!

B&B Plaza Italia was a perfect find for my daughter and I. They let us arrange an early check ,we paid for the previous night as well. We were welcomed and served breakfast before being shown to our room. Our actual check in was later after we had had a rest. Mercedes gave us a very warm welcome to Mendoza , spending time telling us where to visit and restaurant recommendations. Her son Javier responded promptly to our questions before and during the visit.|Our room overlooked the plaza but as it has double glazed and a single glazed panel you didn't hear much noise from outside. Beds were comfortable, room and bathroom were clean and kept clean.|Overall we were very glad we came to Mendoza and very happy that we picked to stay here. If ever we come back to Argentina we would revisit, |It is the personal touch of Mercedes and Javier that made it special

Lovely place in centre of Mendoza. Great host, very friendly and informative who speaks excellent English. I recommend his Wine Tour. Great room and house. Much nicer than a hotel.

Absolutely wonderful bed and breakfast in the heart of downtown Mendoza. walking distance to great restaurants and the town square. Accommodations were perfect and the breakfast we had before our day of wine tours was fabulous. The owner of the B&B, Mercedes was the most delightful woman. Would recommend this B&B highly

What a love Bed and Breakfast! Mercedes and Javier were so welcoming. There were five adults in our group, so we had the second floor to ourselves. The rooms were very nice and there was a sitting area on the landing where we could gather. The rooms were cleaned daily and the breakfast was delicious. The Plaza Italia is centrally located and the area is very walkable. Javier recommended nearby restaurants of which there are many. |We booked a private wine tour with Javier, which I strongly recommend doing.

We loved our stay at Plaza Italia B&B. From the moment that Mercedes opened the door, we felt at home. The home is beautifully decorated and very welcoming. The check-in process is very personal and Mercedes was very enthusiastic in showing us on the map places to go and explore in Mendoza. The room was clean and comfortable, it had outlets for American electronics, which made it so convenient as we didn’t have any adapters with us. Javier also provides tours to the vineyards & tasting rooms (bodegas) and thanks to him, we were able to enjoy two bodegas we wanted to visit. For an experience in Mendoza from locals, I happily recommend this place 🤗

We spent five nights at the Plaza Italia on our trip to Mendoza. What a great experience! ||The BnB is immaculate, with old world style and new world service. Javier and his team too such great care of us! The room was clean, comfortable and we felt like we were home. ||Javier also provided us with a wine tour one day and was always available as a resource for our needs, from dining suggestions to exchanging dollars to suggestions for other wine tours. Top notch service.||We can not recommend Plaza Italia enough!

Great place to base your trip to Mendoza wine country. The hotel is right in the heart of Mendoza on the Plaza Italia. Very well kept, the common areas are nice and the rooms are as well. Mercedes is a lovely innkeeper, very knowledgeable about the local area. Her house rules may seem too strict for newbies, but I think it's just because she takes an awful lot of pride in her property. Great location overall though.

While the physical accommodations may not be luxurious, Javier, the hotelier of Plaza Italia is definately superb, and the location in downtown Mendoza is good. We booked a one-day excursion to the Uco Valley with Javier, who personally drove us all day. Here is where the excellence comes in: I am a Foodie and enophile, and I wanted to taste the renowned Malbec wines of Mendoza. With a visit to three separate wineries and a lunch, all included. While the lunch was excellent, I was a bit disappointed at the age of the wines offered. In view of this, Javier scheduled an additional trip to the second wine growing area of Mendoza at no additional cost. These wines were exactly what I was looking for and I greatly appreciate the effort. Javier and his mother Mercedes are excellent hosts and we highly recommend them.

When Mercedes said "welcome home", we truly felt like we were home. When we arrived, Mercedes gave us a map with things to do, restaurants to eat at and a brief history of the city. Every recommendation was fabulous...excellent food, good prices and great service. The family home is so inviting. Walking through the living room to the breakfast area through to the patio...you feel as though you could have grown up there. Centrally located. Close to restaurants, shops and parks. A MUST DO - request a wine tour from Mercedes' son and business partner, Javier. He provided an amazing wine experience. It started with a lesson about the vines at Angel Mendoza's vineyard. Second, we learned about the wine making process from Patricio at Ricardo Santos winery. Next we stopped for lunch. This was not a typical lunch. 5 course meal pared with fabulous wines at Ruca Malen. After lunch, we made our last stop at Caelum. Javier was a pleasure to spend the day with and a wonderful tour guide. Thank you Javier and Mercedes. Staying at Plaza Italia is a must! Tom and Rushelle
