We stayed here the night before setting off on the Camino and were warmly welcomed by the host who helped my partner carry her monster suitcase up to the first floor. The room was tidy, but the bath/shower set up was humbling, given you had to crouch down in the bathtub with a handheld shower head to give yourself a rinse. The house itself is a bit noisy and you can hear footsteps regardless of what floor you are on, so if you are a light sleeper beware. Having now completed our walk and stayed at many similar places along the way, the breakfast/service/rooms were bang on average, nothing spectacular but reliable and clean.

Very good location, rooms are large, rustic antique style as is the whole B&B. Owner is eccentric and breakfast ordinary just bread and jam, tea coffee etc. Cornflakes but only a small cup for them, I did ask for a bowl or something larger but alas no.

The rooms are clean. The service is friendly and genuine. The location is great. Our particular room did not have shower (only bath), but others did. The place is indeed loud depending on who the other guests are. I was awoken at 2am just by people walking up stairs.

We had a lovely bedroom at this very convenient B&B, situated right in the middle of Le Puy. It was very spacious and beautifully furnished. We also really enjoyed the dinner in the small restaurant attached to the property. The breakfast was good quality too. The owner was helpful in dealing with our luggage which was being collected after our departure. Overall thoroughly recommended.

L'Epicurium was a very pleasant find. It's different but very well done, full of character and excellent value. Difficult to compare it to others but I'd say I'd say you get 3 star quality at a 2 star price, but really it's better than many 3 stars I've stayed in. My suite was spacious with the best bath of any hotel I can remember. Style is eclectic but it works. Fantastic location in Le Puy, in a side street in the historic centre just off the main square. Breakfast traditional French with home made jams and real butter not those awful little packets. Didn't eat here but the menu looks good. Service is charming and low key so don't expect your room to be made up each morning. Worth a try.

Right from the moment we were met outside the front the hotel as we dragged our suitcases up the cobblestones from the bus we felt very welcome. Okay the stairs where a sign of what was to come for the next week. Good fitness training :)||||The room was spacious, clean and the bed comfortable. The shower was hot.||||In the morning the breakfast was very French, fresh and tasty. I was very pleasant sharing the breakfast with other guests.||||Our host spoke a little English so we got by just fine.

I really liked this hotel.   Lots of character.   Old refurbished building.   Easy walk from the train station.   Great location near restaurants,  bars and cafes.   Easy walk to the cathedral.   Check in is at 5.30pm  but we organised early access to our room by email as we were arriving at 2.30pm after a 38hour journey - which was much appreciated.   Our room was very roomy with a huge bathroom. The old wooden stair case and creaky wooden floors were a bit noisy but to be expected from an old building.  The narrow winding staircase could be difficult with heavy luggage,  there was no lift, not unusual for Europe.   Breakfast was baguette and jams...may sound boring,  but the most extensive array of home made jams I have come across.   Strawberry, apricot,  Chestnut and mint,  Chestnut and chocolate among others.   The lovely young man at breakfast explained all the different flavours of the large tray of confitture.  We had dinner at the hotel which was a group table and a set menu of a homemade meal of regional products.    If ever we are lucky enough to visit Le Puy again,  I would definitely stay here.

Tasteful, conservative rooms with lots of historical character; excellent value for money. Nice clawfoot tub in our room. I agree with other reviewers that it is essentially a very nice rooming house and the owners are only there for a short time every day but if you're beginning the Camino you should get used to that! Breakfast very plain - would have been happy to pay more for something more substantial. Still a good choice.
