Nothing fancy or design-y about it—just really good acupuncture and massage.

I stumbled upon Bed Stuy Acupuncture and Massage and am so grateful - I’ve found my new favorite massage spot! Angela was exceptional. Her care and skill released knots I didn’t realize I had. Their commitment to inclusion shows - as a genderqueer person, I felt incredibly safe and comfortable throughout. 10/10 experience and I can’t wait to return!

Angela was a wonderful massage therapist—so attentive and thorough. She suggested using cupping which was new to me, but a great way to release stubborn muscle tightness and knotting. The space was very clean and inviting. I would highly recommend Angela & BSA&MT to my friends and family.

Ariel Charney

Google
Had an amazing massage by Etchevery! They worked out kinks in my lower back and neck and truly hit all the areas that were tense, and others I didn’t even realize were tight. He was able to provide the deep pressure I like and checked-in during the massage. I felt so much better after and plan to come again!

I had chronic pain in my right leg after a car accident a couple of years ago and a lot of visible scar tissue, tightness, issues with mobility, etc. I wasn’t able to seek PT at the time because I didn’t have insurance and after years of living with the pain I decided to try acupuncture. I had my first session with Morganne a year ago and I’ve been seeing her ever since. She was able to immediately pinpoint where I was experiencing pain and focused on it once a week for several months. Overtime she has helped break up the scar tissue and I have significantly less pain and tightness. Morganne is super talented, incredibly kind and attentive. I highly recommend Bedstuy acupuncture!

Google
Cannot say enough good things about Morganne and the other women at BSA. Routine appointments with Morganne and Jessica have done more to cure my chronic neck and shoulder pain than medication and years of physical therapy combined. The practitioners at BSA are truly gifted and care about improving their patient’s conditions. My only regret is not finding them sooner.

Google
i love this clinic! i've been seeing morganne for over a year and a half, and she's been amazing in treating my chronic musculoskeletal pain. i really appreciate how she always offers helpful recommendations for stretches/exercises/products to ease my pain. her compassionate care has truly made a difference in my overall well-being. if you're looking for effective treatment and a holistic approach to both physical and emotional health, this is the place to go! <3

This is my first time using acupuncture and I felt so welcomed from the initial intake where I was able to discuss my concerns and goals for acupuncture. In session, I feel so at ease and my acupuncturist is so knowledgeable and explains everything really well. And as an added bonus that I feel an improvement based on my treatment plan from when I first started (over 3 months).

I had a lovely, healing appointment with Sarah R.-- she fixed my aching neck and back while being attentive and kind.

Yelp
I can't get over how incredible the massages are here, especially by JESSICA. I have gone to her twice now- the first time she blew me away. She massaged places i didn't even know existed. But the second time was somehow even better and I have made it a personal mission to come at least once a month for her magic. It feels like she is physically inside your body like you are a master masseuse and massaging yourself. All the points you want hit, she hits. All the places you want her to stay, she stays. I do not know how but I've never had such an intuitive masseuse. She finds connections to your pain points that you don't even know are connected. The latest example is that this week I had a horrible crick in my neck from sleeping with my head turned one way. It was so bad that an entire day I couldn't turn my neck one way without turning my whole upper body. I didn't even mention it to her but during the massage, she somehow felt it and paid special attention to the left side of my neck. Exactly where I had hurt it. It's crazy to me. I feel actually fucked up walking out of the massage in the BEST way. Like delirious. If you've had a REALLY good massage, you know exactly what I'm talking about. I told her after that she was the best masseuse I've ever had and she was so gracious and said it's a passion for her. The passion SHOWS; and I am soooo lucky for it. Can't wait for my next session!!

Yelp
This place is pretty awesome. It is definitely more of a medical / spiritual professional office rather than a spa luxury feel. I first went for chiropractor appointment. My back left arm was hurting and needed some adjustment. The chiropractor here is on the gentle side. If you want a crack crack crack this is not it. It's more slow and took few months but feeling great. While visiting she recommends the acupuncture since I was so tight, and would help the adjustments after. So I visited a few times with Darrel and whomever was available during my scheduled. Everyone was amazing. They also do trigger point. They are gentle. Depending on the acupuncturist, they can either do short massage or hot stone or nothing after. They are super nice so you can ask or request. Massage is also amazing too. Some better than others but I do not regret buying the packages since I live very close. Best decision ever. I went a little crazy and did a acupuncture and massage appointment back to back. Then chiropractor the day after. Omg I loved it. Prices are decent and they even help with insurance if it is covered for you.

Yelp
Angela Simon is a talented, caring, and experienced massage therapist. I must say that she gave me the best and most relaxing massage that I ever had! Bed Stuy Acupuncture is a gem of a place in the new, gentrified Bed Stuy. Thanks for a great experience! I will be back as often as possible. Evan B.

Yelp
Lifetime Game Changer My life has been enhanced as a direct result of Kate and her team at Bed Stuy Acupuncture and Massage. Due to multiple health issues, I started going years ago and it has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Natalie is a true healer. Her demeanor, spirit, vibe, and commitment are incredible. Kate has created a wonderful, relaxing ambiance that engages in the healing process. She is so gifted and a gift to the community. Jules is also a standout and incredibly knowledgeable. My husband has seen tremendous change since he started up with Angela.

Sooz L.

Yelp
I've been using acupuncture to relieve pain for various ailments. This place is the absolute OPPOSITE of what a healing center should be. I was more stressed out and aggravated dealing with this place than before I even went in! I gave this place two separate chances a year apart. If you're looking for a peaceful healing environment look somewhere else. There are plenty of places that are aligned with positive thinking and energy, this is not it.

Katie W.

Yelp
I've been suffering from a pinched nerve in my neck and got an appointment with Darin. He is truly the best. In addition to my pinched nerve, he also takes a keen interest into any additional treatment you may need. Since going every 2 weeks for over a month (in conjunction with seeing a chiropractor), I'm almost at 100%. I have to thank Darin for getting me there and being patient with me.

David K.

Yelp
Wonderful. I would absolutely characterize this as a fully therapeutic massage. I left feeling taller, happier, and more in touch with my physical body; as if after having months of built up tension, the places in my body that had been stiff and locked up were literally given back to me and under my control again. I had a 90 minute session with Crystal. We started a little late, but we went the whole 90 minutes and it was a fantastic ride. I described a few issues that I have been having to Crystal before we started and she gave astonishingly intuitive and empathic attention to those areas. After that, she went on to give excellent attention to some places I hadn't initially listed, but nonetheless needed some extra care. Not to be too effusive, but there were several times during the session where I literally thought "holy s**t... Crystal is either psychic or a wizard because....OOF this is great!" So, yeah. Great experience. Will become a regular.

Paris M.

Yelp
I'd been experiencing back pain and tightness for months now and decided to book a 90 minute massage with Kasey. It was honestly probably the best massage I've ever had! Kasey identified every tight spot in my legs, back and arms and carefully worked them out in a fantastic deep tissue massage (the really deep kind that makes your muscles twitch and requires deep breathing). I highly recommend Kasey and Bedstuy Acupuncture and Massage! I'll definitely be back

Wesleyan T.

Yelp
First time getting acupuncture and it was a great experience! Before getting acupuncture , I was so nervous because I didn't know what it would feel like or if there would be major pain . It went smoothly and it didn't hurt at all. There was some discomfort but it was because my own back was so tense - the needles helped open the muscles for some breathing room. My acupuncturist was Michael - he made my experience go even more smoother; was informative, trusting and patient (i was super whiny - on a Saturday night. I should've been struck by the Yelp gods) . This place was clean and tidy. It held a few beds - didn't feel stuffy, with enough space in between each bed. I will be returning and I can't wait to see my progress throughout this journey. See you next week!

Leslie B.

Yelp
I booked a 60 minute massage with Crystal for 3:30 PM. I was taken back at 3:37 PM but the massage ended at 4:30 PM. If you start late, you gotta end late - them's the rules, which is the reason for my 4 stars instead of 5. Crystal listened to where I wanted her to focus which was great - I feel like that's not really usually the case. She also went deeper when I asked her to. No-frills establishment and you do have to wear a mask FYI. Would probably go back again.

Ken C.

Yelp
I had a day off so decided to schedule an appointment. It was really easy, they have a lot of times available, and I'm so happy with the massage I got. She helped me understand where some of my issues are and I'm looking forward to going back again next month.

Josette Z.

Yelp
Practitioners Kate Henderson, Brittany Finnegan, Julian Grow and massage therapists Jessica Cook and Angela are superbly knowledgeable, intuitive, caring and provide detailed, undivided attention to meet your health needs. I suffer from chronic migraines. Since I began treatment with Kate and Brittany for the past 2 months, my health has dramatically improved. I weaned off medication from the neurologist and feel much healthier and happier! Kate does not give up on her patients and guides them with compassion and love. If she doesn't carry a specific herb for your condition, she will find solutions and order any herbal products that suit your specific condition. I feel so lucky and grateful to be part of the bed Stuy Acupuncture Massage Therapy family because they treat you with family love!

Yelp
The follow up to my review clearly shows the unprofessionalism of this company. If your former employees wanted you to know where they were working they would tell you. Clearly they didn't for a reason. Your claim to forward them future business is disingenuous and creepy. 1) Your online form doesn't work 2) You don't check your email filters after asking a potential customer to send over insurance information 3) You "recall" a hostile VM but you don't know the name of who left it so it must be me? I appreciate knowing how you do business before I sent a penny at your business. How you think any of this is appropriate is beyond me. Your response is consistent with your customer service. Your response is more damaging to your business than my review.

Rachel M.

Yelp
Angela is the best massage therapist! I scheduled a 90 minute deep tissue massage and it was totally worth the money. She worked out spots in my body that I didn't even know existed. Angela's demeanor was so gracious and soothing. She helped me relax more than I normally do during a massage. I have years of built up tension in my fascia from a PTSD-triggering assault, and I left the appointment with increased range of motion and the least pain I've felt in over a year. I'm definitely returning and highly recommend.

Kristin K.

Yelp
Terrible customer experience I signed up for a first time appointment and had the dates mixed up and ended up missing my appointment. When I realized what I did I immediately called and e-mailed. No one picked up my phone call and no one has responded to my email. I called later in the day and finally got someone on the phone but they said I could not be credited because of their cancellation policy. I completely understand cancellation policies but this was an innocent mistake and I tried to rectify it as soon as I realized what I did. This also was a first-time offense and I hadn't even stepped foot in their business yet. Needless to say, I'm out $75 but they're out a potential customer. I understand this is a small business but I do have expectations for customer service that were not being met here. Luckily this is New York and there are tons of other places to go to.

Maya N.

Yelp
Been coming here for months & generally love my experiences here but lately no one ever responds to emails or answers the phone. Don't bother getting attached to a certain acupuncturist because the turn over rate is HIGH! Overall I like it here, it's easy to get too, clean, & affordable! I just wish the communication was better, that's really my only complaint ‍

Yelp
Greetings, I got to City Acupuncture every other Monday with my spouse. We consistently use Walda. She is superb. She is very personable, knowledgeable, and she knows her craft. The lobby is always stocked with tea, water, and ear plugs. The bathroom is always extremely clean; and, they use Mrs. Meyers products (my fav). You can always request a blanket and an eye cover, to make your treatment more comfortable. Walda sits with you before the treatment, to ask you questions about what you need. She explains what the treatment will consist of; and, she gives you helpful tips for day-to-day life between treatments. Then you are whisked away to your bed for your calming treatment. Walda checks in with you through out the process, but it is not an annoying or hovering checkin. They don't rush you out after your 60 mins is up. And, there are a variety of products in the lobby to choose from, if you like.

Dominyka G.

Yelp
Acupuncture in my opinion is the most healing therapy and Bed Stuy Acupuncture therapist are simply the most knowledgeable, caring healers I know. I have been going back to see them for 5 years and every single time, whatever my issue is at that moment, it gets better. Thank you

Aisha S.

Yelp
I called to make an appointment and was told that I would have to PRE-PAY for a massage before even booking one. I have never had to pre-pay for a basic massage and I've been to spas and salons all over the city. I don't appreciate being treated like a criminal low-life because I live in a black neighborhood! If this place operated on the Upper East Side they certainly would not require payment before receiving services. My community shouldn't have to be treated in such a shameful manner.

Jamie N.

Yelp
Weak As a chinese who have got more than enough sessions this was nothing compared to any skilled doctors in the field. Not worth it.

Kimber C.

Yelp
I was so sad to see Scratch Bread leave this location but WOW what an amazing new neighbor we gained! I was stressed to a breaking point this weekend due to my little sisters wedding, stress at work, stress working on our house, and a million other things. I was just too busy to go to my regular spa over by my office in the city. So when i was breathing a sigh of relief this past Sunday, I thought to myself, forget waiting til the week starts (because who knows how busy I'll get), I want a massage right NOW! And it needs to be GOOD! So I started looking for a good local spot to try and, oh! That spot just down the street that I keep walking by! They do more than just acupuncture, they do acupressure massages!! DONE AND DONE! Now fingers crossed they had an appointment... I went onto their website and they had a web portal through Mind Body to book! And I was lucky enough to find an appointment open in the next two hours! I booked my appointment with Sachico for an hour (They also had a first time visitor special for 1 hour for $69 rather than $75... nice little surprise!) and she was amazing! Warm and friendly as soon as I walked in and I didnt wait too long. Sat down for a quick consult with Sachico to review where I wanted her to focus on. I told her definitely my shoulders and upper back because of stress and my feel and calves from running around the wedding. She brought me to the very back where there was a semi private (curtains no doors) single room where they perform the massages. Before getting there, I saw a few beds that were less private and reserved for acupuncture. I got settled, undressed, and got under the sheets. The room was a comfy warm temperature and I loved the smells of the oils they used and the Epsom salt lamps all over. Great lighting with just enough dark since we were all the way in the back. There was a little noise to be heard but for the most part it was very quiet which was great. The massage was the perfect pressure (mixture of pain and soothing) and she really worked out so many knots in my back... I think I dozed off here and there (which I hate because I want to enjoy every minute!) but it was so amazing!! I definitely plan on coming back!

Wilma Q.

Yelp
I had my very 1st acupuncture session today with Kate. I was extremely nervous because I loathe needles but read so much about it that I had to try it. I'm so happy I found this place in my old childhood hood, lol. The place was very pretty and peaceful. I loved the sounds and the smells. Kate was very sweet and reassuring. I won't lie my right foot stung when she inserted the needle and I could still feel it during the session but I did fall asleep twice. Kate told me to eat something and drink water when I got home. I'm feeling very tired and sleepy. I can not wait for my next session. I'm so happy I found this place.

Vincent V.

Yelp
In an attempt to reschedule my 30 minute appointment to a full hour appointment this little business refuses to do so, referring to their policy. There are no policies to be found anywhere on the website, neither is the receptionist able to share their policies. It's very to say the least - and given the fact that I came twice during the last two weeks very unfriendly. I cannot recommend this place!!

Bam Z.

Yelp
Pretty bad massage! Went in for an hour massage but she was running behind. And only in turn got a 50 min massage. Yet paid for the hour. I tipped because I felt bad. However therapist kept on stopping the massage and just placing her hands on me. The last 10 mins she just shook my whole body from head to toe and placed her hands on my back (not moving at all) and kept them there for a min. Than she leans down and says "thank you". That was the end of the massage. I was so confused as to what I just paid for. So weird!!! Won't at all go back nor recommend it.

Arielle A.

Yelp
This place is awesome. I chose to sponsor them through GoFundMe and it was a great decision. Their new store front is open and airy, clean, pretty, and not cluttered. They have tea and water in the small waiting area with a nice array of products that you can get at most healthy-related places, but might be convenient for someone who is recommended those items during their session or not already familiar with natural health products/supplements. There are no separate private rooms (that i saw), but nice client dividers. Super chill and professional environment to get acupuncture in, not overly clinical or woo-woo spiritual in any way. Kate is friendly, thorough, attentive, and listens to my concerns. Looking forward to getting a massage soon!

Richelle T.

Yelp
Natalie was great! The space is very clean & I got the help I needed in the 4 sessions that was recommended. Will definitely be returning for more sessions!

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Divine. I walked out absolutely blissed and feeling so much better today. I did a one-two punch of self-care by scheduling acupuncture yesterday with Kate and a massage today with Darren. Kate is knowledgeable and friendly and I felt comfortable talking to her about my angry piriformis muscle, which is what brought me in. I'm somewhat new to acupuncture, and remain skeptical about some of the aspects that feel too "woo" to me. This practice's aim to "make acupuncture a little less alternative," as some of their advertising materials say, fits just right. I guess what I mean is Kate didn't try to convince me I needed to be a vegan or give up caffeine or meditate daily to benefit from acupuncture. She totally got me and my muscular issue, and after some trigger point release needling I was a new person. I also appreciated getting to sit down with her after the treatment to talk about how things were feeling and create a treatment plan. I happily signed up for a 3-pack of treatments (I didn't get a hard sell--the place sold itself). Darren is also knowledgeable, a good listener, and a great massage therapist. He took in what I wanted to focus on during the massage, and did a great job balancing the somewhat the painful deep tissue work I need with super soothing uncrunching, de-tensioning massage, using acupressure points as well as more dynamic techniques. Somehow he managed to exorcise my shouldergeist. (Get it? ... like poltergeist? Alright, I'll wrap it up.) I'm so glad to see this fantastic practice combining affordable acupuncture and massage in the neighborhood. If Scratchbread had to go, I'm so glad this is what replaced it! Keep up the fabulous work you guys!

Westy J.

Yelp
This place is the gold standard for healing arts and accu care. The customer service is always incredible and it's clear this place is owned by kind people because everything flows down stream in these environments--and the staff is super sweet and accommodating. If I could give it six stars I would.

Ahbi N.

Yelp
Today was my first time, and I will be back. It is different to get a massage with only a curtain dividing you from the rest of the business, but it was fine and didn't bother me at all. Angela was a superb therapist and the general vibe of the place was really soothing and restorative.

Tiara P.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my service today with Tim. I went in with a really painful neck issue and walked out substantially better. The one thing I would say though was I was surprised that my 60 min session was in fact only 50.. I'm not a frequent acupuncture goer so have no idea if that's normal but I did feel a little cut short.

Lauren C.

Yelp
There was a time, not so long ago, that I couldn't hold a pen, a utensil, or even grip without pain. Now, I'm 80% better and working towards eliminating that last bit of nerve pain and I couldn't have come this far without acupuncture and massage. I'm so happy we have a place like this in the neighborhood. It's such a necessary part to self care to just stop, unplug and connect to your body and mind. I've seen a few different practitioners and they're all knowledgeable and kind. I saw Kate today and she was so amazing that I felt inclined to write a review. Also, shout out to Dara Eagle for her incredible massage skills. Her hands felt like a strong and skilled spider guiding the pain out of my body. You all make losing Scratch Bread worth it!

Katie H.

Yelp
My first time here today. So happy this place is in the neighborhood. Friendly people, welcoming space. Did the 60 minute massage and it was just what I needed. Craig gave me one of the best massages I've ever had. I'll be back!

Don N.

Yelp
I love this place!! The staff is considerate and caring. The acupuncturist took her time and listened to my health concerns. I loved the communal space and felt so much better afterwards. Thank you so much. I great addition to Bed Stuy!

Michelle P.

Yelp
Caring, patient and knowledgeable. The space has amazing energy and well as the practitioners. This clinic is an asset to the community.

Danica Z.

Yelp
Disappointing massage. Glad I'm not the only one finding it surprising that this place got such great reviews. The masseur had really cold clammy hands (not that he could control that I guess so what can I say) and then for maybe 50 minutes out of the hour he only worked on one side. When he was done he said thank you and sorta giggled uncomfortably. I left feeling really cold. Honestly a massage at the nail salon would have been better... I tipped out of politeness but never again.

Sarah R.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my first visit here, was excited to see that my former yoga instructor from J'ai yoga was actually my doctor when I came in to see have acupuncture! She was very thorough with me asked me lots of questions, I made sure that I felt comfortable. Fair warning it is community acupuncture, which means that you'll be sharing a room with multiple people at the same time and there are no walls separating you s make sure that you wear clothing that can be pulled up above your knees or above your elbows so that you can be treated without having to cover up with a towel. I'm looking forward to going back for my next appointment, reasonable prices and convenient location!

New Biker B.

Yelp
I went in with terrible lower back pain from wearing my two month old for hours on end. I could barely bend over the pain was so bad. The session with Elena felt amazing and the next day my back was almost all the way back to normal. I couldn't believe how effective it was!

Lise L.

Yelp
I am a big fan of City Acupuncture. After spending way too much money on overpriced private acupuncture sessions I realized I needed to tap into community acupuncture. I started by seeing Kate Henderson years ago when she was at Worksong so when she opened up City Acupuncture in my neighborhood I was thrilled. She has given me personalized service over the years and helped me a lot. I also love the environment, it's very calm and relaxed. I've also seen Emily at City Acupuncture and love her as well. This is a great addition to Bed Stuy and I couldn't be more thrilled!

Tara C.

Yelp
After a hiking trip last weekend I excruciating pain in my neck 24hrs later. I'm a professional dog walker so being out of commission isn't an option for me. I could barely move and absolutely couldn't not turn my head. I called these guys around 12:30 on Monday morning and explained my pain and why and they were absolutely wonderful! Chris asked me a few questions and genuinely wanted to help me. They were able to take me that afternoon around 2 for an hour and even gave me a discount since it was my first massage visit. Dara worked on me and was very knowledgeable and reassuring, taking time afterwards to explain some stretches and further treatment I could do at home for the pain. I can't recommend these guys enough!!

Launa D.

Yelp
I was stressed from not being able to walk properly going on 2.5 weeks, my right leg would get these terrible sharp pains shooting from spin, hip and knee. I had X-rays done and doc said "I have arthritis." I'm totally freaking out I'm a mom, artist and a waitress. Serving is my bread and butter! I'm thinking "noooo...I need to get better I can't stay on these great shitty drugs forever." Walking home from the G train after the terrible news I spotted this cute place on the corner of Bedford and Clifton. Acupuncture special and had to take the offer. Btw...never had acupuncture. Came in the next day and saw Emile, she had a gentle smile and peaceful vibe. She worked her magic! I felt my body release this crazy energy of relief, amazing. She checked on me periodically to make sure I was comfy. After leaving I came home did Epsom bath and rest. The first time in 2 weeks I was able to get up out of bed with out holding on to something. I called my mom crying because it felt unbelievable one treatment and feeling this amazing. Next day I Went to do Landry and cleaned my creating space today. Sunday my next appointment!!! So happy Thanks for opening such a special place of healing

Kate J.

Yelp
I can honestly say that having these guys in my neighborhood has changed my life. I have had chronic migraines for years, which have only gotten worse and worse. The only thing that works to keep them under control is regular acupuncture, but I never wanted to pay the rates at other acupuncture clinics. This place is super affordable, and because I'm a student, the special discount rate makes it possible for me to come every week. I was missing so much work before, it honestly felt almost like I had a disability, and now I'm back on my feet! I have been to several acupuncturists in my life, and these guys are the absolute best. I've seen almost every practitioner at this location, and every single one has taken a lot of time to ask me questions and really listen to my concerns. In addition to the migraine treatments, they'll ask me about how I'm doing otherwise and adjust the treatments as needed for insomnia, seasonal allergies, anxiety, digestive issues, etc. They work hard to make you feel comfortable, and even though it's a shared space (i.e. you don't get your own room, but lie on a table in a room with other people who are also getting treatment), it's a really soothing environment. They aren't stingy with the needles and they don't rush you out of there. Now I see Sarah Heslip regularly, because in addition to being a really attentive and kind acupuncturist, she's a great herbalist. But I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with Kate, Max, Walda, and Maria, too. It's also important to me that their attitudes are relaxed, welcoming, and community-oriented -- they don't make you feel shamed for not being a vegan yogi who meditates for an hour a day. It's very come-as-you-are. Just cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
First time getting acupuncture and it was a really easy and comfortable process. Natalie was great and I was very relaxed for it being my first time.

Anast A.

Yelp
I can only say thank you. Accupunture change my life after my lower back surgery. No more pills and suffering. After i move to nyc i was lucky i found this place with the welcome and so professional staff. Help me relax my body and brain. And so affordable. In our days everything getting so expensive. Dont hesitate to try and you never regret
