Beddgelert Campsite

Did a last minute booking end of January 26, for a hard standing pitch for motorhome, all hard standing pitches have Ehu and are relatively flat, the washing facilities are really good and extremely clean, loads of hot water, each shower room has a toilet ,sink and shower and a heated towel rail. The reception has a shop which is quite well stocked, it also does hot drinks, they have a food delivery / takeaway, we had the curry meal which was really nice and not too expensive. The site is situated just under a mile from Beddgelert village, there is a forest walk which is stunning and is about 3.5 k and takes around 30 mins, or you can walk down the main road which is about 1 km but there are is no footpath. There is a bus stop at the entrance to the site with regular buss’s to Bedggelert one way and Canarfeon the other way. There is WiFi on site around the reception area but non up on the camping site, there is no phone signal on the site. You are staying in a forest which is really nice but extremely dark on a night so take a torch, the site is really well run and the staff are great, we were here in January so no steam trains unfortunately they only run in the summer, we will definitely be going back.

Had a lovely couple days stay in the forest 12/12/25 ..nice a peaceful, nice clean toilet block with warm radiators and hot showers, facilities for disabled persons...views overlooking the mountains were amazing so as the walk from the campsite to the village of beddgelert, stunning walk and a must do! Staff were lovely and very helpfull a credit to the company..your not parked right next to the next person neither, there is ample space between you! I would recomend a stay here, im booking again for the summer! Thank you for a great stay! Jan and lola..x

Lovely clean campsite, in the woods surrounded by mountains with lovely views, and with plenty of activities to do, for all ages and abilities, facilities are very good with clean private bathrooms, and shop and cafe on site you can also hire bikes

July 2025, second stay at this campsite... and we weren't wrong in our choice to go back there! A perfect location for the Snowdonia Mountains and an awesome camp. The shower block up on the hard pitches is particularly good with a nice dish washing area and laundry facilities. The staff were extra nice and helpful and to hear (and in our case, see) the little steam train chugging through the site is like the cherry on the cake 🥰

What a beautiful site. We have just come back from a 6 night camping break. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The site itself is clean and various areas are well sign posted. The toilet/showers are very clean. They are a little different from the conventional toilet blocks that you get on campsites. These are all in one toilet/showers. The site is set in a forest so don't expect uniformed pitches for your tent or campervan. You have trees, ferns, brambles and logs all around you. The ground on the hard standing is solid with slate chippings in certin places but it is possible to get pegs in the ground but make sure they are hard standing pegs and bring a mallet to hammer them in. The surroundings are amazing and there is a steam train that goes past a couple of times a day and there is actually a station on the campsite that you can pre-book and take the train from which is handy. We pre-ordered meals when we booked the pitch and when you get there you can choose the night and time that you want the meals which is good. The food itself is very nice and you get a decent portion. The reception/shop/cafe is well stocked (a little expensive but what camp shop isn't?) We were blown away by this site and will 100% visit again.

I just got back from an excellent (albeit cold!) stay at this site, we were on the hard standing pitches in a campervan. The showers and toilet facilities were perfect, beautiful surroundings, great coffee shop. I can't thank the team enough, they were so helpful on the morning of our departure when my van wouldn't start, couldn't do enough for us! We will definitely be visiting again! Stayed for a couple of nights in a tent, we chose a spot next to the brook. Being a Bank Holiday the site was busy but not over crowded. Toilet facilities were clean and plenty of them. Lovely little shop. Friendly staff, take away from the bakehouse was excellent. Perfect base for a snowdon climb and easy walking distance to pubs and Beddgelert, steam train stops on site beautiful views from the camping field

We booked a weekend break here as respite from care-giving so just wanted peace and quiet for a weekend away, whilst not being too far from home should we need to return quickly. As full time carers we need to be contactable at all times. After reading about the site we thought it would be perfect. However, WARNING... the advertised WiFi does not exist! The "free" complimentary WiFi wouldn't give an IP address, so after trying for a while I decided to pay for a better connection as advertised, so I went to reception to pay for an upgrade. I was advised "we no longer provide WiFi" (paid nor unpaid!) The frustrating thing is the site is covered in WiFi repeaters, offering great strength of connection so clearly the withdrawal of an advertised facility has been a conscious decision made by site owners/management. Why? We were unable to relax not being able to be contacted by the care company we had employed to look after our elderly and infirm relative (at significant cost), therefore sadly we made the decision to leave the site early. Had the site provided the facilities they advertise on the web, and indeed on the welcome leaflet you get at check-in we would have stayed, but that was just not possible. If you want to be totally out of touch, it would be great, and I can certainly see the attraction if you're that way inclined, but for us, it was stressful and not a pleasant experience so we cannot recommend Beddgelert Campsite and would give a zero star score if we could!
