Bedrock Lodge

I called ahead to say we were arriving at 6 pm, only to discover that I'd accidentally booked for the right date in the wrong month. The manageress very kindly helped us by giving us the only available accommodation she had, which was short of one bed but otherwise perfect. We arrived in the dark and she had waited t show us in, we gratefully settled in - got takeaways from the hotel one block away and had a very good night's rest. There was a TV with some DSTV channels, and heated blankets on the beds! The water was hot and had good pressure, but the bath was generally in need of some minor repairs. The property is old and obviously battered by the sea and Atlantic weather but is nonetheless cozy, functional and has a very interesting historical air about it. Overall a great place to stay if you're stopping in PN for a night, or a few.

We had an excellent experience, from the helpfulness of the two ladies who assisted us, so the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, as well as the fantastic sea-views. The history of the building is incredible, and so are the artifacts and collector's pieces on display for all to appreciate.

Classic and very elegant atmosphere.its not home but feels at home.Nothing beats a sea view from the comfort of a bathtub in your room.

Awesome staff. Clean and well looked after premises. From the moment we arrived Zaretta made us feel welcome. Showed us the premises nice and clean overall. Next morning a lovely homemade breakfast and friendliest lady on duty. Definitely recommend !!

We only stayed here for one night. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It's a very welcoming environment. We were in the Beach Cottage 1 unit. The unit has an old theme to it (the furniture and structure of the unit) not to mention the wooden floors (I loved it). It could have been cleaned a bit more, it needed a few more toiletries and insect spray. It's in a good location as it is directly opposite the beach and right next to the museum, however, with regards to safety I think the alarm should also work when you are in the house not only when you leave. Secondly, it would be nice to be able to park the car in the yard and not at the main building, if the fence around the yard was more secure it would be good. The breakfast was okay. You get 3 different cereals, brown bread, eggs, bacon, sausage and mushrooms. All in all, it was a pleasant stay. I think the only things I would keep in mind is that there's a lot of doors, the house isn't really fenced off properly, the alarm doesn't really work when you want to go sleep and the house needs a bit of a revamp. (the walls are peeling, the ceiling is sinking and the doors are scratched) Overall its a nice a place, it has its pro's and its con's. I would definitely return again and would recommended to others.

Delightful visit to a 'fun', old, creaking and historic building; while the word quaint is apt I fear it's a rather overused adjective for a clean, friendly and welcoming BnB lodging. My stay was a complete joy and to be widely recommended.

overall very pleasant stay. ||service was excellent.||great location being right on the beach.||i would definitely reccomend staying at bedrock lodge if you travil to port nolloth.||business or local trip. overall you will feel comfortable.

The house was clean and neat ||No water when there is load shedding is a problem||The outside garden and braai area needs some attention it looks scruffy and braai had no grid and was messy||Awesome spot but with a little tlc could be so much better
