I hope they changed management. In 2020/21 this hostel was really junky. People stealing inside the rooms, bed bugs and very dirty facilities. Manager(Mia) used to keep the deposit and don't give back. What a shame, a true criminal organization!!

The hostel was well situated but we didn't feel safe there. The rooms and bathrooms were not clean. You have to pay or bring your own locks to store your stuff. The room was said to be 8 persons but 16 could go through. The main door of the room was always open. There is no shared kitchen. The breakfast is good.

This place is cheap and the location is great. However, the experience from the hostel is worse. When I was here in September 2022, our luggages were stolen by a drunk man which led to an accident with police etc. Half a year later, I slept in a capsule instead of the room. And they were clean. But there was a lot of noise during the whole night from other people. Moreover, there is quite lot of light in the capsules. Toilets and showers were not really clean. To sum up, you can rest here for a decent price, but do not expect more than that.

Having read some of the existing reviews I was slightly nervous about staying here, but I was pleased to find that the bed was perfectly clean and comfortable. The staff are amazing but there is not many of them to manage a decent sized hostel, so some of the communal areas are a bit dirty. The food and drink in the bar is good quality and reasonably priced (by Copenhagen standards). The only complaints I would have are the lack of air conditioning and the fact there was only one shower working in the hostel, although I understand that works are underway to get new ones put in. Good enough for the price you pay and a nice enough place to put your head down for the night. Very good value compared to the rest of Copenhagen.

We were 3 people that all had a single room, person 1 his room wasn't made, still dirty, upon arriving at 18:00, person 2 his room had problems opening, and there were still hairs in his bed. Person 3 his room couldn't close, reported it right away, and was promised it would be fixed. Upon returning to the hotel at night the door was not fixed, and reception was gone. Was forced to sleep with the door open... We booked 2 nights, but all left after the first night. Never staying again.

Very very very good location. We travelled as 6 people so we took 6bed room. It was clean. Hostel employees were king enough to borrow us forks and a glass. I wouldn't recommend it for more than one night though. Bathrooms weren't very comfortable and there were very little privacy

I do not understand why it is a drawback that the hostel is 30 minutes away from the main station if you are from the airport in 20 minutes already in the hostel.. The location is just perfect. It could not be any better. You can walk everywhere very fast or by bike what you can rent just around the corner. As soon as you go into the hostel, you feel right at home. As it has already been said it is like a shared flat. I had a cold unfortunately during the stay and even with sickness I felt very well. The bar and the lounge is very nice and it is very familiar. Everything is clean. The staff is amazingly nice and friendly. I definitely give a deserved 5 stars. What really matters is that the shower gets hotter. Probably then will increase the ratings. Thanks again for the very nice days in Copenhagen

Google
The location was good. That is the only acceptable thing about this place. There were bed bugs everywhere; the toilets were woefully dirty and small; the sheets had not been washed; it was really noisy; and just to reiterate, it was dirty beyond belief. Do not go there if you value your body as it will get eaten alive by the bed bugs. Bar staff were nice.

Yelp
This place is totally not what it looked like on their website. It was nice and cozy in the lobby, but that's where it ended. When brought to our bed it was filthy throughout the whole place. It seemed they were under renovation and were still trying to make some extra bucks on the side. The whole place was pretty gross and the worst of all was the security system for our bags was basically nonexistent. We felt unsafe sleeping there with all our valuables easy to take, so we dipped. Leaving two stars only because the lobby was nice.

Yelp
I would second the staff are "disrespectful," "distracted," and "some people would like you to disappear" comments bellow. In sum, bed bugs; rude staff; theft and shared rooms left me with a cold and bad taste in my mouth for this hostel. To begin, wow, very rude staff, if something isn't working (eg; a dryer) this becomes your problem and you're told to wait or "respect the politics" while not having clothes. Specifically Isabelle is very rude and disrespectful to guests. They don't get that a "small" issue like the dryers being broken causes you to not have anything to wear that day if you were already told to use the washers. This effectively ruins your working day. As do the attitudes and morning reception. This hostel can ruin your day as your told off by staff for requesting basic necessities to be fixed. Also these things are expensive. We're paying around $10 USD to do laundry, would certainly expect it to be working. The location is nice but I was also bitten by bed bugs during my stay. I had to request a refund after speaking with multiple persons. Their attitude after being referred to an email and two different people was "bed beds are common" and "why should we give you a refund when you are coming back." You have paid a lot for your flight and your time here is precious. I would not trust the bed bugs issue to have been resolved because their attitude toward this was, ... "it's common." I would also agree with the comments below about joined rooms in multiple corridors. The rooms are listed as 10 bed dorms however when you see them you will see there is no divider. This can be an issue as my first night in there were three or four people with a cold. I am still stick after staying in the conjoined dorm room. Finally, ... I laughed this off but during the morning I saw a guy with a "Trinity College Dublin" shirt... and said, ... hey I have the same T-shirt. I attempted to start up a conversation about my days as a law student at Trinity. He said he didn't go. I then learned he took my shirt from the locked luggage room which was folded neatly on top of my bag of personal laundry. This was comical in effect (you'd have to picture this) ... in a rather embarrassed fashion he offered to return the shirt. I didn't make a big deal of this due to being busy and wanting the simple resolution but... this is theft (yes, ...) and also it goes to show that there would be the potential for theft of your personal belongs from their luggage room. Try Globalhagen or Urban House. This place is a No No.

Yelp
We had a good stay at Bedwood. The location is simply fantastic! You cannot compete with staying in Central Nyhavn. The building is fantastic and I'm quite in love with the charm of it. Keep in mind, that this is a hostel, and your night sleep is very dependent on the other people in your room. Sadly we were in room 9, which is combined with room 8. This is not quite okay, since we paid to be on a room with a maximum of 8 people. Sure, most people in the room did not sleep right next to us, but they had to pass our beds in order to get to their own. The room was poorly lit, and there were no cirkulation of air. On the plus side, each bunk had a light and an outlet. The service in Bedwood is 100% depending on who is at work. Some are amazing, some seem like they would like for you to disappear. In general, it's good value for the price.

Yelp
Things I like about this place: 1) Location. Right by Nyhavn, prob the prettiest spot in the city. Also right across paper island with tonnes of street food available. 2)Rooms are good, bed have decent amount of comfort, weird curtains but good privacy. Also there's a light and electrical outlet in each bed. Things I don't like about this place: 1) Staff don't seem excited about the city; not very helpful or friendly. Also hard to meet other travelers as such here. 2) 4% surcharge on international credit cards which is not there in most places in the city except for very few. Also 55DKK for breakfast and 20DKK for luggage storage. 3) Very few toilets, like 3 or 4 in total? Are you kidding me? You can't run a hostel with so few toilets. Showers are clean all the time, only thing is that you've to keep pushing the button since water conservation is big. Overall, I only stayed for one night, so it was ok. Loved the location so much, that's why I gave it 3 stars, otherwise this place doesn't have much going for it. The building itself looks kind of old and nice with a nice ambiance inside in the corridors.

Yelp
I stayed there for one night and would not go back. It is a small cozy hostel. Location is OK. And very quite. But the thing is that doors in this hostel will pop uncomfortable noise. Also it seems like stuffs there are more interested in talking to each other than getting things faster.

Yelp
Conditions in a hostel are subject to change without notice. Bedwood looks great on the surface--a rustic eighteenth century lodge tucked away in a quiet Nyhavn courtyard. Anyone who knows hostels, however, is aware that the experience is contingent upon the people you're rubbing shoulders with during your stay. I love Bedwood's location at the heart of Copenhagen's colorful waterfront. It's easily accessible on foot from the subway and remarkably affordable for Denmark. There's plenty of restaurants and bars in the area with several major tourist attractions just minutes away. The lobby bar has cheap bottles of Tuborg Classic and guests are even welcome to join communal meals in the evenings. Of course, the less you pay the less comfortable your accommodations. I was crammed into a six-bed room far from the toilet, necessitating several late night runs down the hall. My roommates ranged from inconsiderate San Diego college students to Argentinian Spanish teachers applying for EU visas. For the most part, I didn't get any rest. When I did manage to fall asleep, I was rudely awoken for snoring. Cleaning staff circulate throughout the morning, making a morning snooze impossible. Noise from bar music and footsteps easily passes through the ancient plaster walls, so bring your earplugs. I tried warming up to the staff, but they were a bit too distracted and self-involved to talk to me. Many of the other guests quickly passed through on their whirlwind trips across Europe, of which Denmark is a somewhat marginal destination. On the plus side, the bedrooms and showers were kept scrupulously clean, so I thankfully avoided contracting ring worm this year. I guess that's something to be grateful for.

Yelp
The location of the hostel is great, however I recently stayed and was placed in room 11 and the upper level had no carpet. The visual appearance of the upper level was incredibly disappointing and there was no fan which left the room insanely hot. The staff were very pleasant and helpful but overall, the heat truly made the stay unbearable.

Yelp
I cut my stay short from Bedwood. I originally booked 3 nights there but could only stand 1, and this is why: - the showers are so small, not well lit, and some of the doors didn't even safely lock. Not to mention the water would shut off every 45 seconds and take a long time to get even warm.  - 8 people in 1 tiny not well lit bedroom (that had a pillar in the middle of it, room 1) was too much. The window was not enough air circulation, it got extremely hot on and off through the night. It didn't help my roommates we're slobs, with trash can overflowing and their stuff not properly stowed away. Obviously, their actions is not something you can control - just added to my frustrations. - There was no security on the actual bedroom doors. This scared me the most. Anyone unauthorized could stumble into your room. The drawers we can padlock weren't very good either, I could still stick my hand in the drawer and go through things in there. - It seemed that there was only 1 toilet on the floor for 8 rooms, the remaining toilets being upstairs. That toilet hardly flushed and when I went to use it in the middle of the day, someone had vomitted in it and I couldn't even flush it away. I realize the staff cleans these frequently, but it should flush properly. This is what put me over the edge, I just packed my stuff and found somewhere else to stay.  Staff was great and location was great but the conditions were not. I am no stranger to a hostel and this one was far below my expectations. I would not recommend.

Yelp
Bedwood is very nice for backpacking travelers. It has the minimum accommodations but that was all I needed. They sell/rent locks, umbrellas, breakfast, and towels. The beds are small but comfortable and very private for being in shared rooms. Great location on Nyhavn. The only bad thing was that it was pretty loud- thin walls and many people moving around with luggage and talking. However, for the price I could ignore the noise and I managed to get some restful sleep.

Yelp
Of the many hostels I've stayed in, this is one of my favorite, with a couple of asterisks. It's in a prime location in Nyhavn, close to everything you'll want to see in Copenhagen. What I loved the most was the warm and friendly atmosphere of the common area and great happy hour specials. Bedwood is well designed for guests to meet and chat with fellow travelers over happy hour drinks or breakfast. Bedwood doesn't feel like a flophouse; it feels like a modern take on an Old World inn in an 18th Century building. Bedwood isn't perfect, though. My partner and I stayed in Double Room 1, which is a private room immediately adjacent to the common area on the first floor. All the things I loved about the common area also made it difficult to sleep there. The nightly music and festivities just outside the door and the staff's early morning common area cleaning ritual sometimes made it difficult to sleep in that room, even with earplugs. I would definitely return to Bedwood, but I'd request the hostel's other (presumably quieter) private room, or sleep in a bunk. For comparison, from Copenhagen, I traveled to Stockholm, where I stayed at a Generator hostel, which was very corporate, sterile and pretentious. I'd take Bedwood and its flaws over the other any day. The bottom line: Bedwood is excellent value for the money in a wonderful, friendly and festive atmosphere... but avoid Room 1!

Yelp
Cozy, affordable, centrally located. Really well planned and managed with backpackers' perspective firmly in mind. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at.
