A Weekend Getaway Guide to Anderson Valley, California - AFAR

"An award-winning producer noted for some of the country’s best pinot noirs, now presenting visitors in a new tasting space marked by a bumble‑bee yellow Porsche. Owners and winemakers Andy DuVigneaud and Ali Nemo also craft a notable cabernet sauvignon–merlot blend described as rich and earthy with flavors of cassis, roasted red pepper and Mexican chocolate." - Brooke Vaughan

Popped in for a bottle of wine and met lovely staff, sweet dogs, and a litter of fresh puppies! Really beautiful space and the wine was excellent.

We had a fantastic time tasting a wide variety of wines. Andy was generous with his encyclopedic and deep knowledge of wine, and his time. Our tasting was a fantastic exploration of different varietals, vineyards, and vintages, including some that were well-aged. The Pinot Noirs and Zinfandels were rich, bold and wonderful, but we were also wowed by the Grenache, Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc. When we embarked on a five day wine tasting trip we swore not to join another club, but so many of the wines we tasted were extraordinary that we just couldn't resist joining Bee Hunter's, as it was our favorite tasting of the trip and of recent years. We just kept saying 'wow'. This was not the standard canned formal corporate wine tasting. We felt so fortunate to spend time with a creative genius giving us a tour of his amazing wines.

I had the best wine tasting experience I've ever with my family during Thanksgiving week! Nick was a friendly and fun host who made us feel right at home. We tried a flight of Bee Hunter wines and loved learning about the sauvignon blanc which we got a bottle of! One of the owners, Ally, was there and made sure to welcome us while telling us about the cool history of how Bee Hunter Wine was founded. Sitting outside on the patio, we watched the sunset while sipping delicious wine. It's rare to try and flight where you like all of the wines, so I was surprised that each and every one was delicious! Sidenote: I left my wallet there and they very generously mailed it back to me so thank you Andy!

Don’t join the wine club. The owner knows how to build a dog but not a business. The wines are good and the dogs are cool, but c’mon, man. I was charged for wine that was never shipped. Six weeks later, I inquired and was charged again for yet another shipment. Four weeks later, I inquired about the double order and was assured the wines were on their way. No shipment. I eventually canceled the wine club and asked for a refund after months of nothing but was again assured the wines were being shipped. The wines finally shipped using a two-but delivery service when I was out of town. I tried to change the delivery address but had to go through Bee Hunter. No response. The wines went back to Boonville. I was nice and understanding, but ultimately I had to threaten legal action to get a refund. I must have spent 10 hours in calls and emails trying to get those wines. Forget it.

$30 tasting is really overpriced for what they are. Wines are okay- not bad, but definitely not worth prices they're charging ($80-120). The owner was not friendly or welcoming, the place was noisy with all the dump trucks passing every 2 minutes. Thing is, there are sooo many better wineries around, and there's zero reasons to visit this place. I should have read the reviews more.

Exceptional wines, especially loved the syrah and pinot noir :) Andy and Ali are great hosts, giving their tasting room a warm, cozy, homey feel. Can't wait to visit again!

The place looked inviting. Unfortunately they had aggressive pups running free inside the place, and one bit my leg! Don't say you are open for business if you are not wanting customers. Skip this place.

Schedule a tasting here ASAP!! It is rare to find a winery in Boonville with such a lovely and wide variety of wines. As such, Bee Hunter Wine is a great place to explore what Anderson Valley has to offer. We loved our tasting with Ali, and left the tasting room with sore cheeks from laughing and having a great time together! Can’t wait to go back and buy more wine.
