1) The online ordering app they use automatically defaults to a 20% tip **for takeout**! That is just rude, and it shows a certain amount of hubris that unfortunately makes eating out an unpleasant experience. I always leave a tip, but putting such a high tip on there by default is rude.
2) The food is already overpriced. It's a very informal place, so $16.95-18 just seems like a lot for a curry, especially for the small amount of service and very casual atmosphere.
3) The food is ok, but inconsistent. Tom ka soup tasted ok, but was unusually thick, and had a tan color, presumably from mushrooms. It had a mushroomy-flavor, plus with the thick texture it was reminding me a bit of cream of mushroom. Also tried the steamed dumplings. These were very pretty and I was excited to try them. However, the meat in them was dense and dry, and the dipping sauce was uninteresting. I think it was just black soy and sugar. The curry was good, but typical, and I would get that again. But overall, it was a bit disappointing.
TLDR:
typical thai, a little more expensive than typical. Watch out if getting take out that you actually intend to leave a 20% tip.
