Beechtree Motel

Stayed for 3 nights and had a great experience. Easy parking, spacious room, nice shower/bathroom and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back and stay again. One request would be for a little more crockery/cutlery.

The motel was well located in Taupo with the rooms well appointed if a bit dated. We had a comfortable night's sleep but I wouldn't like to stay there for more than a night, as it is really just suited for an overnight stop.

Manager was rude & unaccomodating when we arrived from our transportation before 3pm. He would not allow access to any rooms before 3pm even when the sign outside said there were vacancies. Our bags had to be left out in an open reception area - not even behind the counter. The motel is located too far from the town centre for those without a car and the only restaurant in close vicinity is a Chinese take away. TV reception was terrible. Advertised bar b q was filthy & rusty with no gas bottle - totally unusable.

Clean motel. Efficient staff. Nothing special about the motel but it gets most of the basics right - good beds, clean amenities, reasonable black out curtains, daily towel change and wipe down if needed. No pool. Good small supermarket and cafe across the road

This place has a brilliant location, some upstairs units have nice views of the lake, the grounds are well maintained, and the rooms are clean with great beds. We had a two bedroom unit for the four of us. The two seater couch was not enough for four of us the watch TV in the evening. We made do with the two person table by using the couch to eat at. The reason for the three star review is the smell from the drain in the shower. It made using the bathroom unbearable. The cleaning staff tried to fix it but this was a temporary solution, and the smell returned a few hours later. There was no follow up from management or response to my message as the reception was unstaffed. I understand problems happen and expected follow up and for issues to be addressed.

Save your money and time and look for a better motel. Very tired. Dirty. Broken cupboard doors. Holes in the wall. I just about broke my foot on the marble table top that broke at the bottom and hit the side of my foot. The other side table broke at the top. Wouldn't take much to fix up, but they had not !! Scroll on. This place is a faulty towers. The one bonus was the undercover parking

The apartment was large with 2 separate rooms, nice shower. Nothing luxurious but all perfectly functional. 20 minutes walking from the town centre.

The room was clean and modern, however the fridge didn’t work. Upon contacting reception we were told it was working, there was no effort made to check by the man on reception who was very unhelpful After the ice box defrosted we managed to get it going ourselves. |There was no one in reception when my husband checked out, however the manger opened double doors from a room across from reception and couldn’t even greet my husband coming out of reception, he just looked at him. |We would have stayed here again as the rooms were nice but with the unfriendly service we won’t be back.
