Even on a long weekend, food service was quick. Coffees had a long wait, but managed well with buzzers. Toilets kept clean. Pies were a bit cold, but tasted so good! Great river view and balcony too! In this day and age, they offered free teas to all guests (self service). Even Hunter (in training) was trying his hardest to keep up with clearing tables and restocking cutlery. Great job, kid!

Very busy place! Big queue! Lot's of different varieties of pies, pastry, sandwiches, sweets, etc. Delicious eclairs, they are so good! Friendly staff and quick service.

Always see it packed and heard great things about it, went in for a cheese and bacon pie and cappuccino and a cream donut. Pie was very bland and boring with a lack of cheese and bacon besides the melted bit on the top. Cappuccino has been the worse coffee I have received international roast and hungry jacks/McDonald's coffee that tastes better. Staff very uninterested in being there with nan and shrek sending dirty looks throughout the building. What awful experience. Glad the donut was edible but wasn't nice nice.

Okay, so I have a confession to make. I went to Beechworth Bakery in Echuca mostly because it was conveniently located, but the zinga pie completely surprised me! It was the star of the show, and I'm already planning my next trip just for another slice. Be prepared for potentially long lines, but trust me, it's worth the wait.

During our short stay in Echuca we decided to see how good this bakery was and I can confirm it exceeded our expectations. Not only was the coffee spot on but the pies were delicious and the cakes tasted that good that we went back every day just so we could try as many different ones as possible. Please do your taste buds a favour and go to this bakery!

EDIT 2025: Still going strong. I'm sure there are more tasty treats than before. You will definitely find something to tempt your taste buds! We sat outside and enjoyed a freshly made Bacon & Egg sandwich. Highly recommended. Pet friendly outside.

Beautiful food, got the eggs benny wrap with a French vanilla and coffee. Service was average from a young bloke but the rest of the staff were lovely.

Yelp
Really like the setting for this bakery in an old hotel. Makes for plenty of space to sit and enjoy the food. Whether it's downstairs or up on the balcony. Good views of the main st and also of the billabong behind. The food of course is the normal standard fair for a bakery and is carrying on the Beechworth original standards. Cakes, pie's, specialty items and sandwiches are the go here.

Yelp
Yyuuummmmmmmm! Omg yuuuuummmmmmmm!! Country style chicken pie, big fat chunky pieces of chicken with leek & cheese in a creamy sauce. This pie was unlike anything I have ever eaten before & it was freaken huge, enough pie to keep me happy for a very long time. If only they made pies like this is Melbourne, in fact Melbourne should learn a thing or two about this style of pie. Enough on pie, I also tried the mini quiches which were finger licking good also. This place was packed to the brim, buzzing & very happy customers all round regardless of the wait time. A must visit if you are ever in echuca & looking for a hearty meal.

Yelp
Great bakery with delicious pies and pastries. Found staff to be very friendly but Coffee is just ok. not consistent, different staff members make them. Some come hot, some too frothy others are warm.

Yelp
The Beechworth calls itself "Australia's greatest bakery", which is a big call. They do have a nice atmosphere, with some amazing sweet and savoury foods on offer. On my visit I had the 'Harvest' focaccia, which was quite tasty. Avoid the thickshakes though. They are sickly sweet, with the consistency of treacle. It was like trying to drink a marshmallow through a straw.

Yelp
Great pies I recommend this place to anybody in or passing through Echuca to give them a try you won't be disappointed
