First time there We had a cheese steak, and cheeseburger they were pretty good. My kid got a steak supposed to be medium. It was burnt so bad on the outside he didn't want to eat it.

My husband and I went here on a saturday evening. First time here, cute little spot in a shopping center. We grabbed seats and the server came over right away and took our drink orders. The food was good i was expecting the cheese steak to be a little bigger then what it was. The wings were really good and the prices were great. They seemed very short staff though they only had one server and one person in the kitchen. I would come here again to try something else.

Place is very personal to me. Was once considered the best burger in the county! Ate here consistently in my youth. it has since gone through its 2nd major renovation and the burger was brought back to almost original greatness more menu options and clean atmosphere was appreciated I will be a return customer

I had the Baron burger as I had read the beer case and it stated it was the readers choice best burger 🍔 I have to say it did not dissapoint. It was Huge like a Burger my uncle would make on the grill and it was flame broiled so it had a great char that I didn't know I was craving. The fries were a handcut style and the small sides of pickled peppers and pickles were the perfect addition to such a great meal. For the price it was definitely a deal. The ambiance of the the restaurant was more dive bar style which was perfect for me. I am glad I was staying at the Fairfield to have been able to discover this place. I was as satisfied as I could be with the service and the flavor. If your trying to decide whether you should come here just take my advice and DO IT...

The beef baron great beer at a cost friendly price. Just moved here about a year ago and have been looking for the new ( MY BAR ) and I found it.

Would give 0 stars if I could. I went there to eat with my family. I ordered the Taco Salad. After asking if the meat had Taco seasoning and if they had Taco sauce and receiving no as an answer, I told the waitress I didn't want the taco salad about 10 minutes before the food was brought out. She brought the taco salad out anyway, and said she would take it off the bill. I did not eat the taco salad and instead ordered the wings since she said she would take the taco salad off the bill. A different waitress brought the check to our table, which is when I discovered the waitress did not take the taco salad off the bill and flipped her words completely saying it was up to the owner if the taco salad would be removed or not. She spoke with the owner and in turn told us if we did not pay the entire bill, they would call the cops on us. They did indeed call the cops on us. We waited for the police to arrive, and paid the bill as intended. The waitress never even asked for a form of payment after we stated the taco salad should be removed from the bill as she told us it would be. This place has no class and shows no customer appreciation. My young child should not have had to go through that to be crying afraid that the police were going to arrest us all.

Walked in and it was empty so I got a little nervous but it was really good food. The roast beef was very tender. The au jus could have had a stronger flavor but it was adequate. The natural cut fries were great. Definitely worth staying. Highly recommended!

The burger was cooked perfectly and the onion rings were great. My wife enjoyed her chicken fingers and fries. The beer was cold and the price very reasonable. Nice place.

Went to watch ravens / Steelers game on Prime. Good beer prices and great food, try the beef dip sandwich ! Friendly staff , great service!

Well done flame-grilled cheeseburger with lettuce tomato onion was very good. Didn't care for fries. Service was good.

It's been ages since we've been here. Gone is the dark quirky feel. Menu has changed (they now have a fryer), but the roast beef is still the same.

Another great place in Allentown to watch the Steelers game... or any other football game (but why bother, lol)! Had the taco salad which was in a crispy bowl. Add the chili! Service was excellent , nice hometown feel. Ambiance was nice sports bar.

Went in on a Saturday afternoon. Had college football on the tvs, overall nice environment, quiet. Food was good. I had the beef baron sandwich...was tasty. Only had one server/bar tender she was still good on making sure we had drinks and checking on us.

Been going to this place for a while since it's walking distance from my house and it's always good. The food is great priced and always consistent. Their fries are especially great! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is chill and usually just locals hanging out having drinks. It's always a pleasure going. Especially when we want just a simple night out.

It was our first time there for a little while we did not realize they renovated. The food is still fantastic and now it has a much more open clean feeling we sat at the bar The service was good. We will definitely go back.

It's been a few years since I've been in the area, so I wanted to go to my old familiar bar for a burger and some beers. Since moving back to the area, I noticed a lot of changes and improvements, but change isn't always a GOOD thing the last time I was at the Baron, was when it sold, they added credit cards and a fryer, and thatsvwhere it SHOULD have stopped. Apparently the owners gutted and basically created an entirely new establishment. Well let me tell you, they absolutely destroyed what was there. First of all, a Bar should not have BRIGHT white walls. Lime blinding white, the old bar was great where it was. The amount of money spent "improving" the bar was an absolute waste and I doubt they will ever regain it before they sell it off. The Burger was good, but I'll never be back, they killed my watering hole, RIP Baron, you'll be missed... Chang isn't always good, some traditions shouldn't be messed with

Such a shame. It used to be awesome here and the food was always very good. For 30 years or so I've been coming here. You order a medium burger and it was cooked perfectly. Now since they remodeled the ambiance is gone and the food is terrible!! Had a burger, asked for it medium, and it was overcooked. This has never happened. The rolls aren't good, and the roast beef was tiny. What was a consistently great restaurant is now terrible. We gave it 2 tries since the remodel and will never go back. Wish they'd go back to how it was as now it looks like a generic bar. Need to improve food quality

My wife and I are new to the area. We've been trying a lot of different restaurants trying to find a few that we can 'hang out' at. While we've had some good experiences, as well as some bad, last night at the Beef Baron is probably the worst so far. I can't rate the food because I wasn't served. My wife and I entered and were told to find a seat anywhere. And that was it. We waited about 10 minutes sitting at a table by the window, facing the bar. They never acknowledged us and we never even received a menu or ... water. Nothing. There were maybe 11 people in the place and a somber ambiance. On a Saturday night at 6:00 PM. Maybe that's a sign. Regardless, we left after sitting there, dumbfounded that we didn't get served. I will say my wife and joked about the fact that there were no other Asians in the place besides her. Kind of makes my wonder if that is the ultimate vibe that we got. Needless to say, they obviously chose not to serve us.

Went here on a whim...excellent food. I had a Reuben and my husband had the Big Beef with onions and au jus both very good for pub food. Cute place and server was great. Super nice!!!

food is excellent has the NFL package bartenders are nice and music is good. not sure what more you can ask for

Note that every review other than mine, is before the underwhelming renovation. The renovation removed all ambience that the Beef Baron had before. And they removed the steering wheel from the front of the house and it's nowhere to be found.!!! I went there a month ago and ordered a cheesesteak and it was quite sizable. But it took almost 45 minutes to get out of the kitchen and that my beer glass was left empty for 20 minutes is beside the point. I went back this evening to get a cheesesteak to share with my mom who is 90. I specifically told the server that I wanted crisp french fries that I lived only two blocks away and to please be sure that they were crispy. About 25 minutes later, after the server had her cigarette outside, she went into the kitchen to retrieve my order. As soon as I open the clamshell Styrofoam box I knew that my french fries had now been steamed. I pointed it out to the server who said "I'll get the kitchen to make more for you." Then I opened the box to see the sandwich I received. It was about half the size of the one that I had a month ago. I looked at the server and said " this isn't what I expected I don't want to pay for any of this". I asked her if the size of the portions changed recently. She said in quite a nasty attitude, well they probably have! And I asked" in the last month? " She said "well yeah. " I ended up getting a refund of $14.40 for my sandwich and the beer that I had while I waited. The last thing I noted is that there were not any locals in the Beef Baron. There were six people in that bar and at least four of them were from out of town. They had said that the local hotels that had recommended that they go there. I'm guessing that the local hotels don't know that the Beef Baron has changed for the worse. I don't think they're gonna stay open very long. And the lighting is so horrible I feel like I'm in an operating room

Quality roast beef sandwiches with horseradish and au jous. The only thing this place is missing is weck rolls.

Absolutely fantastic! Their burgers are huge and delicious. Beer selection is good. This place has been in the Valley for decades and I see why.

My son was moved out of ICU today after a skiing accident which required him to be airlifted to the hospital. His most serious injury is to the brain, but docs are saying the long term prognosis is good. I am from out of town and just needed a homey place, close to the hospital to grab a few beers and dinner. The Beef Baron and women behind the bar delivered. Thank you for making this stressful experience a little better.

Been here many times. Food is usually very good, but the roast beef sandwich I had today was almost inedible. Very dry stringy, fatty beef. It didn't even look good. Very disappointed. Great service, hand cut fries were terrific. Sandwich was awful.

The food is back to above average standards. Fresh cut Fries are now served and it's back to a place that I can frequent with integrity. Thank you to whomever brought the Beef Baron back to it's original splendor. The Beef sandwich is excellent. Highly recommended. They finally brought back the quality ingredients needed to make simple wonderful.

The heats been driving us out to dine and so since we haven't been here in at least a decade, stopped in on this Saturday lunch hour to order a burger and a beer. Everyone has different expectations on service, food and atmosphere. The cheeseburger at 8 ounces topped with fresh L, T, O, hot peppers was satisfying, cooked well but needed a bun substantial to the big burger. The bun fell apart in five different places and so, had to bite it in segments. It was not seasoned enough for my taste but I'd rather have it less salty than too salty. The fries were fresh cut and nice accompaniment. Although the main bar interior looks like the inside of a cooper barrel, the cook and grill are situated over in widest end of bar, front and center. I read reviews about new management and people commented the old owners used to serve better food but you have to consider new management equals new debt and something has to suffer, FOOD! It's a bar, so that side brings in a nice profit. Oh, and to mention service, SUZANNE , was sure and steady. Also, asked her to split the $$ tip between her and the cook. The cooks are hardest workers in eatery and receive least recognition. Good job.

horrible!!! waitress at bar when asked what lite beers they had flicked her finger at me towards a wall board. when I said I could not read it from my angle she proceeded to help another costumer who came in after me. the customer after placing his order pointed to a larger board I could read WOW only 2 why could she say than to me??? ordered my husbands beer and my drink then our food after she had a smoke break while 3 other staff either sat joined her or only 1 helped customers. my chicken sandwich was 4 small pieces of chicken on a roll so dry it was chalky to chew that is what I could chew the rest was grizzly or something nasty. who ever is running this place has destroyed it. not surprised if it closes in 2 months. should have known to turn around and walk out once she flipped her finger at me. The place was empty and I should have heated that as a warning what a shame to take an icon from the city of Allentown and destroy it. By the way, my waitress was the only one that had red hair and she did not have a very personable attitude, except for when she was flirting with the one male customer at the bar. And after I mentioned that I would be putting up a review, but she still had an attitude towards me. I thought I did not deserve being presented with that as soon as I walked in the door.

So where to begin. The drinks were the only good thing about this place. Blue moon from a bottle and not on tap? Okay fine. Water that tastes like seltzer? Whatever. Coke that tastes like diet and the excuse it that's just how it tastes? Umm no. So we decided to stick it out and I got mozzarella sticks. Worst decision ever. They were grilled, soggy, non melted mozzarella sticks. You think we couldn't get much worse, but I guess we were just gluttons for terrible food. My friends got the burger, which were burnt round tasteless discs of we are assuming Beef. I got the Baroness which was their chicken sandwich. Let me say that I was afraid of even eating half of it. It tasted like a piece of rubber that was thrown at the wall several times. It had no flavor whatsoever and I was scared of getting salmonella. We waited 30-45 min to get flavorless food that was inedible. The only pro of this place was the waitress was nice, but it could not get anything above a 1. Supposedly there is new management and hope that they can turn it around

I had the baroness chicken sandwich with coleslaw. The chicken was cooked to a juicy perfection (not precooked!!) Swiss cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato on great bread to top it off. They also have a good selection of beers and great service too!

Don't let the exterior push you away. Sure it has only 2 small windows and you can't see outside. I found this gem when looking for a good burger that is not a chain restaurant. They are not using a frozen patty here and it is packed with juices. To top it off, fresh cut fries. I could eat these all day! The crowd is inviting and seems to host a few regulars. If you are looking trend hipster place this is not it. Could it use updating, sure but that would steal the charm soaked in the place. Beer menu is varied enough to cover the big beers but plenty of microbrews also. Was hoping for Spaten on tap but chalk that missed opportunity to COVID supply shortages. Next time will have to try the Delmonico steak sandwich.

Love at fist sight, and bite. Server was polite. AMI juke box for availing. It seems this place is a local haunt. Very quiet on a Friday latter part of the night. Got there before 11:00pm. Maybe it varies? It was raining out. The server accidentally stopped my songs on juke box......believing it was music left by exiting patrons, but it was my 3 songs left that they accidentally stopped. I kindly brought this to light, and server asked exactly what those three songs were? And she wrote them down on her paper pad! How commendable! She fixed the situation gladly.

Would be nice if the cook didn't have his big snoot hanging out over his mask also there are to many rules in this restaurant...food is just ok,,place is dark and dinghy,,,wait staff is rude and unprofessional...would not recommend wasting your money.

I like the Beef Baron. However, they need to step up their game a bit, Beer selection is good, burgers are good, the help isn't ! Was there today, actually twice this week. Today, the bar person was a bit inattentive. Spent too much time at the far end of the bar talking to patrons, seemed to know them, on the phone, sharing some phone stuff. A couple comes in, sits at a table, and sits for 15 minutes. Even during that time, the bar person goes to the register and still never looks up. The couple left. I wanted to say something, but didn't. They lost business. Good help is hard to find. Bar person also was not rude but something was a put off to me. She went out to smoke too often too. I like Beef Baron despite!

A legit dive bar with good wings and chicken tenders and kid friendly! Pretty great actually! Bartender was super nice too! I'll go back.

Stopped for a few beers & and a snack. Sat at the end of the bar that was close to the grill. Got to watch some good looking food leave the grill. Burgers, with grilled onions, chicken wings, toasted rolls were some of the items that went by. Looks like they fry their own chips, also. I got an order of pierogies. Came out perfect. Sill hungry, so I got the fresh cut fries with cheese. Another winner. Service was a little slow to start - I asked for a menu but never got it until they asked for my order & I said I needed a menu. Since I got to watch the cook, I really now want to try a cheeseburger. Only thing I can say is every order she replaces her vinyl gloves. I have watched people in a kitchen use the same pair over & over including running the cash register & eating their food. I will be back.

I would have better off walking over to Route 22 and throwing my cash on the highway. The burger was clearly frozen and reheated, chicken wasn't even edible. The mozz sticks were grilled and tasteless. Don't bother.

Best burgers! I get the Red Barron with BBQ and bacon, cheese too. It is 3 meals for me! Holds up to take out also!! I wish they carried a better quality White Zinfandel, like Sutter Home, especially since they uped the prices. Even better if they had Sutter Home White Merlot! When they have homemade soup it is awesome!

Came here today for lunch and the food was excellent. Got the Baron (cheeseburger) and it was a half pound patty and it was made to my request. Wast drinking at this time but it looked like they had a nice selection of big brand and microbrews to choose from. Very clean and they now accept credit cards. I'll definitely be back for some food and alcohol outside work hours at some point.

Ah, the Beef Baron. I first came here when I turned 21 back in the day and had a blast (I think!?). As Charly J stated, the inside of this place has completely changed. This place used to be a dark, cramped place but they did a really good job in sprucing it up and making a lot more room to move around. The place is still dimly lit but trust me, it was way worse before. The food is good and solid, - always has been from what I can remember. Burgers are massive, juicy and very good. I ordered the Red Baron burger medium and was barely able to get my mouth around it...barely being the operative word. The menu is pretty inexpensive as a whole. I don't think anything is above $8 or $9. They have a pretty decent (and cheap) beer selection as well - both commercial and microbrews. This is very much a local and unpretentious bar. The bartenders definitely have their regulars who come in and they know exactly what they want. Quick attentive service and definitely no brown-nosing to be found. Maybe we got some really fast service because it was DEAD on a late Sunday afternoon, but hey, I ain't complaining. Decent place, but nothing spectacular. I'd come back again and won't wait another 10 years or so.

I first found out about this place thanks to Yelp! and thought I'd found a unique place to try for dinner. Turns out my boyfriend had known about the place for a while and it wasn't a surprise, but oh well. We're always looking for a good, small bar to grab a bite to eat and a good (read: not Bud Light or Yuengling) beer. Beef Baron fits the bill and is close to home. We've been there a handful of times and the beer selection is always good. Last visit - 2 weeks ago - they had a seasonal Weyerbacher, the Yards Brawler, Spaten Oktoberfest, and several others of which I can't recall. The burgers are delicious and made fresh on the grill. They're actually fresh made black angus burgers. They're not mystery meat patties or pre-fab frozen burgers. Did I mention they're also reasonably priced? The chili is also a good pick. Service is friendly but can be a little slow if it's a busy evening. Make sure to bring CASH as they don't accept credit or debit.

Uhhh well I heard from locals this had the best burger. So we went. The burger was pretty good but not worth the drive, lack of fries, the stop at the ATM. OH and no coke or Pepsi products. The 3 stars is ONLY because the burger was decent. Menu is very limiting so only go if you're going for a burger. Waiter was alright and don't forget cash.

I'll keep this simple as it's a simple place. Recently redone inside so everything is new, lost some atmosphere from the old setup but new is good too! The food is very very good for "bar food", the burgers are awesome and are cooked as ordered instead of everything well done. Prices are fantastic and if that wasn't all good enough, the beer selection is very very good. I wasn't expecting that kind of beer selection from this place at all, mostly bottles but even a few good drafts. If you're in the area and looking for something simple or just a place to start for a few good beers, DEFINITELY stop in. Only downside is you can still smoke in the front room... need to get rid of that non-sense.

We visited here for the first time on a Friday evening, overall it was a mediocre visit. On the upside the Baron has a very nice selection of beer, domestic and foreign. Also, they have a solid fare of burgers and burger like offerings. The Baron is surprisingly small child friendly having both a couple of juice selections, a separate dining area in the back and highchairs. The service was competent and our server understood how it was to eat out with children and added to the experience. On on the minus side as others have commented it's cash only and that fact ISN'T posted anywhere when you arrive. The way our society is now cash is often a secondary option for an average person and they could be in for a nasty surprise. I didn't see an ATM. Also, no french fries. That caught both R and myself off guard. The food came slowly (over 30min for our party of 4 adults and 1 child) for what we ordered Burgers, the lack of other customers when we were seated. In the end one of our party suffered through an incorrect order (medium rare instead of medium well). Due to the influx of business was unwilling to wait for what we thought would be a significant delay. It's worth a visit, just keep in mind that others have looked at the Beef Baron with what we think are rose colored glasses. While this place might have once been great it's settled into middle aged mediocre dive bar with just hints of previous greatness.

Not the same, not even close. Going to Baron for 30 years...great people & food. Just went in for almost 5 years & was shocked. It was more like a club then corner bar, ordered a beer & wings to go (used to be best), waiting then told it would be at least 90 minutes! People next to me complaining about time for burgers (also used to be best)...person on grill looked like a deer in headlights. I loved this place, perhaps try again on another Weekday.

Beef Baron, FTW!!! Whenever I'm in Bethlehem, I insist on visiting the BB. Nothing says Old Steel Town like a classic, beat down looking strip mall bar with an astounding array of very good brews. I've had the food once, and it was forgettable but really; who goes to the BB for the food? Not me, I go for the ambiance and overall kick assness.

The food quality has gone downhill over the past few years. My husband and I stopped in for a burger and a couple beers on Saturday 3/26/16. The burger was terrible. The bun was still frozen. The older blonde haired bartender... Who has been our waitress/ bartender before with the same similar crappy attitude... Was simply rude and seemed annoyed that we walked in. There were 7 patrons total in the bar on a Saturday night at 9:00. This is the 3rd time over the past 2 years I have been there and felt this bartender was horribly rude. I took a bunch of friends there for my birthday last year, and my friends commented on how bothered the waitress acted that we were there. I have been a patron for years, but no more. I will take my business and my money somewhere else.

August 13th, 2019. Great RB w/cheese and crispy fresh cut fries. Awesome beer selection. Owners and staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly! Smoking not allowed. Debit/credit cards are now accepted. Looks like we found a great new hangout!

Burgers are extremely good. Beer selection is also very good. Don't let the outside fool you. Rough but fun inside, not for the kids though. Adult burger bar.

Staff and owner very nice and attentive. My first visit was on a Monday. Burger was good and a perfect medium. Roll crumbled, so figured maybe frozen since Monday. Told freinds and they shared identical complaint. Plus I hate condiments in packets. My freind heard they had fries now, so tried on a Thursday. Same horrible roll. Fries great. Bottom line...if you don't eat rolls, perfect place. Of you do, horrible roll ruins experience so stear clear.

Dynamite burger and great selection of beer. I love the atmosphere. Reminds me of an old mining bar.

This is probably one of the best kept secrets in the LV. Great place for a burger. Somewhat dated decor, but that doesn't take away from the experience. Good food, great beer prices, and they just started to accept credit cards.

This place is very old also only takes cash. The food was so disgusting. Don't even waste your time or money to come here.
