The restaurant is well positioned on Hagley Road and has easy access to the City centre. The decor and atmosphere in the restaurant is nice though not the most outstanding. The menu had nice and well priced choices. They don't serve milkshakes that was a let down for me. We had a late dinner so the restaurant wasn't too busy. The staff members were nice and attentive. On a whole, it was a nice experience.

The food here was GREAT. Friendly staff. I had the c Christmas menu here and it was great value for money. My belly was full and for what I paid it was excellent. I would definitely visit for lunch again.

Had the pasta rigatoni with veg and chips, good filling meal, chunks of salmon and pollock but pasta only warm not piping Went 30.5.23 very quiet so that was good, Hannah our waitress was very good and polite, food came out hot, good experience. Spoke to the manager Corey who again was very pleasant and polite, good service.

Food: Honestly for the price, the food is really not worth it. The burger tasted like a slab of dry wall between 2 pieces of bread. Ribs has the reminance of an empty BBQ sauce bottle dribbled on top. Icing on the cake was the calamari with a complimentary hair from the chef, I asked for a new bowl of calamari and I didn't get a new one until 10 minutes after everyone had finished eating at the table. Service: The staff were polite... That's the only good thing I can think about the service. Atmosphere: They had chairs and tables.

If I could give this place less then a star I would. I booked a table here for 2pm for an early mother's day lunch. We arrived and waited and waited. Two members of staff saw us waiting but carried on with what they were doing! I took my daughter toilet and left my mother waiting expecting to come back and she would be seated! No she was still waiting when we came out of the toilet. I had to call a waiter only to be told "I'm taking an order you will have to wait!" I then had to remind the waiter it is common courtesy to acknowledge a customer and tell them they will be seem to shortly. We didn't even get an apology! After being seated we where told our drink orders will be taken, we waited up to 10 minutes before WE had to call a waiter to get out drinks. Our food came and it was mediocre, I ordered veggie sticks for my daughter and they where dry and old. The service and food here is beyond ridiculous. We where sat near the kitchen, the food here is NOT made fresh it all come pre-cooked in bags and gets warned up in the microwave oven. We spent £45+ here and honestly I wish I had kept it firmly in my pocket. By the looks of it they don't actually care as they don't respond to any of these reviews

Ordered fish and chips which were cooked to perfection. Maybe would have be nice to have the few extra chips that I did see scraped off my plate at the serving hatch but they probably did my gut a slight favour. A salad came with my number 1s lasagna and it looked as though it had been left out for a couple days. When asked to have a fresh salad, there was new bits of salad mixed with the old, so a bit of cheat. The staff were polite and tentative. Overall a decent experience.

Brilliant food and the staff were really courteous. I was down in Birmingham for work and was alone so already that's a huge pressure on yourself but the staff were incredibly polite and the food was served with a smile and they couldn't do enough for you :)

Stayed at the premier inn for 3 weeks with work, had breakfast here every morning and tea most nights. I worked my way through most of the menu and didn't have a bad meal! The staff were lovely and very helpful! Thank you.

Yelp
The Duck is a well-established pub on the Hagley Road. It was my uncle's regular around 30 years ago. Since then it's had a makeover and updated to the 21st Century. I came to know of it when my cousin began DJ'ing there. They usually have promotions on drinks so chipping in on a pitcher cocktail is a pretty cheap way to spend the evening with friends. The bar staff are welcoming and accommodating. It gets quite busy on Friday and Saturday nights but their customer service remains great. The ambience is laid back and targeted towards over 20's as opposed to students. So generally it's a chilled out, sleek atmosphere. It's also a Beefeater Grill where the food is freshly prepared and deliciously English!

Yelp
A Very good place to have a beef burger!! The atmosphere is so lovely, the staff are so helpful! My order took a little bit to be served though. It is such a good place for families and lovers. It wasn't noisy at all even though it was full. The burger tasted So good, and the chips are so yummy as well. Price wise, it is the average I guess. Not as cheap as fast food restaurants. Highly recommend it for beef lovers!! Yeah, forgot to mention that their menu also include choices for chicken lovers and vegetarians (believe it or not).

Yelp
The Duck used to be a place you could get in and get served with little fuss if you were of dubious age, so it was always populated with a slightly younger crowd pretending to be older and a slightly older crowd clinging to their youth. That was a while ago though and now it's the kind of pub that it looks like, a nice big more family friendly pub with a carvery, and even though it's big it still has kind of a cozy feel to it. The prices are reasonable all round, food and drink. It has a good sized seating area outside too. It would be a nice place to come with the folks now, as opposed to a place to come with your teenage buddies!

Yelp
Since this place had a refurbishment a couple of years back, I've been a huge fan of this Beefeater establishment. It has an open, clean and welcoming decor that's friendly for everyone. The staff are super polite and helpful within the restaurant section and I have yet to have anything but good experiences here.

Yelp
I came here with a few friends from work for a meal and a quick drink last weekend. For four of us, the bill came to 70 pounds and that was for a main course and one drink each. I had fillet steak cooked medium with thrice cooked chips and onion rings, and it was one of the most enjoyable meals ive had for a while. The steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce was lovely also, Only problem seemed to be that the staff couldn't quite grasp the concept that i wanted my red wine spritzer as a small amount of wine and a large amount of lemonade, yet i kept receiving a full glass of wine with a spray of lemonade. We stayed for a few drinks after the meal where this issue continued so i gave up asking in the end. But all in all a lovely place to eat.

Yelp
I hadn't been in The Duck for years - we're talking since I was a teenager, when I have horrible memories of a very dark pub that played 'You've been Framed' type clips on big screen over the bar on a seemingly endless loop. It was the sort of place that a slightly older crowd of people went to and the toilets were always full of women crying. I found the fact that they played 2 Unlimited records offensive (I was a goth) and can't really remember why I used to go - I have a feeling peer pressure and the fact you could get served relatively easily without the rigmarole of producing ID etc played a part. Anyway, I'm glad to report that this has changed an awful lot since then - it's a pretty bog standard carvery place but it has a nice, homely feel that is kind of comforting. The food is mostly standard Beefeater fair - roasts, sharing platters etc but they have some fairly decent wine and the puddings were nice. Outside is pretty massive so there are plenty of opportunities for smokers to dash out and make good use of the outdoor heaters. The staff all seemed very friendly and Adele played soothingly in the background - I'm not sure my 18 year old self, would've approved but its a nice enough pub and the food is well cooked and reasonably priced.

Yelp
Part of the Beefeater chain, a few miles out of the centre of Birmingham. The menu has improved markedly since the last time I was in a Beefeater a couple of years ago - still with a heavy emphasis on steaks and grills, but with a good (if limited) veggie selection, lighter dishes, salads, etc. The pub side of the house has a traditional feel to the place, friendly and helpful service, reasonable amount of seating. The restaurant side is much as you would expect from a Beefeater - reasonable prices, reasonable food, reasonable service. They weren't the slightest bit bothered when only five of us turned up for a table booked for eight, and equally unfazed when two of our errant companions arrived as the rest of us were finishing our desserts (of course, the beauty of a place like this is that we could retire to the pub and our late arrivals were able to order from the bar menu).

Yelp
I love this pub and its the perfect local. Friendly atmosphere and a good selection of drinks and food.

Yelp
Ok so I have eaten at the Beefeaters here many times over the years, including choosing it as the place to celebrate graduating from my Doctorate. Clean restaurant, staff are friendly and they have a broad range of food choices. I have seen a few changes in the menu over the years. They do a good steak for sure that is not in question (although do have difficulty in getting the steak cooked according to request and have been served a rare steak a few times after ordering a medium well). They accept the entertainment card which allowed for some really good discounts. Though they changed their benefits related to the entertainment card which meant less deals. Either way the food is worth it. However they can get very busy, so best to make a reservation. As they are busy they occasionally get things wrong in the orders, but are always quick to correct the mistakes. The only curious thing we have experienced is having ordered a Pimms, the server brought us a shot of Pimms? Who drinks a shot of Pimms? Also more than frequently we are told that the T-bone steak has sold out as well as not having all the required stuff to make Pimms which is a little surprising for a steak place. However this has not stopped us going back. Well worth a visit. They do have parking behind, but you may compete for parking with the hotel and another adjacent restaurant. So make sure you get there early. they serve Costa coffee at the bar section. Once the server told us she preferred cash for her tip rather than leaving a tip on the card as she does not get the tip left on cards?
