Yelp
Though I have never been to Sleepy Hollow, I have long heard of the legends and stories that come out of Sleepy Hollow. Upon arrival to the famed village, my mother and I were looking for places to eat, and so I pulled up Yelp. To my surprise, the Beekman Ale House came to my sights, said beckoning me to choose this place. So choose it I did.
We came in as the place was just opening up, and I will later on explain why this was a good thing. As we made it in, we were seated right away, menus on the table to help us decide what we wanted. It didn't stop there. As we decided what to order, we were started off with water pretty much right away. Now the glass bottles this water came in looked like it would have looked right at home hundreds of years ago. We were served our drinks very shortly after.
My drink was the Silhouette Apple Cider Donut and mom had the Maine IPA. She noted a taste of coffee in her drink, and my drink definitely fit hard cider in like a glove. I also thought these glasses were pretty cool. That haunted pizza slice was an awesome spooky little Easter Egg that makes this a nice little autumn experience. So far, this was really good!
Out in the back, you can definitely see some Halloween decorations that help sell this as a perfect Halloween pizza bar. You can see decorations of witches and Jack Skellington alike! Come this time of year and you will definitely be treated to this kind of thing all throughout the village and all throughout October.
The pizzas when you order is on a rack designed so that when you order more than one pizza, you have one on the bottom and another one on the top. Mom had the white pie that went on the top and then mine on the bottom was their Hot Honey Pizza. I went with this because I was genuinely curious what a hot honey pizza would turn out. Let me tell you, that hot honey pizza was something else! You get a nice sweet heat with each bite, peppers lending to that heat. It was definitely something different, and seriously worth trying! They even had a Best of Westchester Award for 2023, and after having it, it was easy to taste why. It was even mentioned when I ask the waiter about the plaque that this place made it into the Top 100 Pizzas of the country. I haven't traveled the country enough to confirm or deny this, but of the pizzas I have had, I could definitely see this being on such a list.
A little tidbit to note here, we came on when this opened at noon, there was a person at the table next to us that mentioned this place gets quite crowded, and the same waiter who mentioned this made the list of Top 100 Pizzas in the country also pointed out that Sleepy Hollow would be hosting festivals throughout the entire month of October. Makes sense here too. Like I said, Sleepy Hollow is a legendary town even since the story of Sleepy Hollow was born.
Of all the places I could have had for lunch, I am glad we went here. Any true lover of Halloween would have a ball coming here!
