Fantastic place. The burgers are to die for. It’s expensive but they do a great job. In a time when a chain pub offers up frozen chicken burgers for £15-18, a proper American freshly cooked quality burger for £18 is good value. Especially as it’s in the heart of St Ives. Service was exceptional. So friendly. It’s absolutely fantastic for gluten-free as well!!! They even asked if my wife was coeliac and could’ve catered.

Came here for my birthday, off the bat they were super accommodating for us as they had an event on and were not meant to be taking any more people but made room for us anyway. Very friendly service, good variety of beers and cocktails and the star of the show (for me anyway) the amazing vegetarian/vegan menu with so many different options which I loved as I'm so used to the same old boring options everywhere else. Great portion sizes and so delicious, I honestly could have cried over my burger (hickory squealer with beyond burger patty) and I would also recommend the satay salad. Overall we had a great time and all left with happy bellies. If I was local I would 100% come here again.

Visited last night for dinner they do beer and chicken and also have a beer and plant menu! Catering for all. They also have a kids menu too. Some other reviews have suggested this isn’t kid friendly, its St Ives every restaurant caters for families. Steep stairs to enter but had a warm welcome. Recommend booking in advance you need to enter card details which are held but no money taken. Food arrived quick within 15 mins. We ordered x2 burgers, fries and a mac and cheese. Kids portion was big and tasty and comes with a drink. It had a rusty feel but I think it felt really cheap inside and grubby. The walls are really dirty if you noticed them. Toilets are cheap and could go with a scrub. I left wanting more for the prices they are charging if I'm honest. £20 for a burger and fries. I had the jerk burger and was expecting a home made mango chutney but I think it was bought from a jar. 10% service charge automatically added to the bill. All in all a nice meal, good service and food was good just nothing amazing.

Not eaten here in a couple years but it’s a favourite of ours and we looked forward to returning! Food was fantastic! Be prepared to get messy, Hickory Squealer is impossible to eat and keep clean but it’s definitely worth it! Wednesdays offer of extra wings was also fantastic and delicious!! Staff couldn’t have been better! Savannah in particular was extremely polite and friendly and offered advice on the menu, noticing that my daughter was (mistakenly) looking at the plant based side of the menu and checking whether it was plant based she was after, or the chicken. She also offered for us to taste a couple of the lagers, with us not being familiar with what was on offer! We look forward to our next visit!

Google
Best chicken burger in St Ives! This is hidden up the high street above one of the shops! It is a hidden gem! Most restaurants in St Ives offer chicken burgers, however if you want the real deal then you need to come here! Absolutely delicious burger! Staff are lovely and friendly too! Will be returning!

Delicious food and great service. Started off our New Years Eve celebrations perfectly! Can absolutely recommend the K-Pop burger. It was spectacular!! We were a table of 6 and had our 2 dogs with us. We all enjoyed our visit.

Great pub-restaurant with a good selection of food and beers. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming. We had a small communication issue with our waitress, but she mentioned she was new, so it’s understandable. Overall, a pleasant experience!

Yelp
We came here last minute after the only takeaway was shut. Stepping in from the gusts of wind we took shelter in a booth. It felt like an American bar with country type music, a massive bar and well awesome food. As the name suggests come here if you only love chicken..you can have anything from chicken scratchings to waffles and pancakes. After ordering a stein of beer each we chose the chicken wings and I shared the big bird..two chicken breasts and lots of bacon! On the side we upgraded our fries to some cheesy ones. The wings flew in swiftly and were of good size. I wolfed three of these down immediately. Wings gone remains soon landed also. I was relieved to have shared it because even with help I still couldn't finish it. The chicken was tender and juicy..the bacon however not crispy to my liking. Service was good and the food cooked well..also nice to have a large choice of beer!

Yelp
Bird & Beer is a very American style restaurant. A rustic, repurposed look and lots of burgers and fried food on the menu. These types of restaurants are on every corner here in California. The atmosphere is very nice and comfortable. The service was good and they have a nice beer selection as well. All in all a nice experience. So I like this place and would definitely come back.
