I stayed at the hutong hotel for 3 nights in September. The staff are very friendly and will help to book tours, recommend things to do and help make restaurant reservations. All the staff speak good English. ||The hotel is located around 10 minutes walk from two subway stations however, the hutong itself is not touristy at all. ||The room has a rustic feel and was generally clean however, the bathroom did have a lot of ants in.

This hotel is very nice; the location is perfect and only 5 minutes from two stations (Dongsi is the main one which is also convenient for the airport or train stations) and in a real hutong! Every time we walked back to the hotel we felt local.||The staff was very nice even if English was limited but they book tickets for the Forbidden City and a trip to the Great Wall for us at normal prices so it was very kind of them.||The room was ok; I was expecting better from pictures, to be honest, but they were absolutely fine. Only one negative was the bathroom which didn't have windows and it had mould around the shower so the smell wasn't great but other than that everything else was ok.||I found the price was a bit higher for what it is but I guess that it's the average in Beijing.

We stayed here with my family for 10 days. Breakfast offered is either Western-style or Beijing-style (steamed dumplings with fried pancake and steamed buns) which I always choose the latter. Reception staff is very friendly and speaks English. One of the staff (Jeremy) was kind enough to let us use his AliPay (which we then reimbursed him after) since the Didi service doesn't accept cash and he also offered us to stay in their sister hotel when the water heater didn't work for a day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Hulu Courtyard.

Room was clean and decent. The staff were friendly and helpful. They were able to converse in english. Had ask for directions to a nearby Peking duck restaurant, it was so good. Their breakfast dumplings and oriental pancake were delicious! Had a wonderful time during the stay. |Keep up the good work! |And thank you Mr Cheng and the lady at the front reception!

The place was nicely built with some modern and traditional Beijing courtyard style.|The neighbourhood is quiet and the front desk are very helpful. We received their confirmation of room booking with a complete guide of how reach the hotel. ||Outside the room there is some chilling out area with tables and chairs for us to chill out.|It is within walking distance to convenience store, fruits shop, some nice eateries and the subway system.||However if the room are not so dusty the toilets shower system need some repair or perhaps revamp I would have given 5 star.||Do take note that the location is in a small lane. So taxi might not able to drop off right in front the hotel.

Brilliantly located characterful hotel in the Hutong. Quite tucked away and tricky to find but well worth the effort when you locate it. And walking distance from the metro, Forbidden City and Tiananmen Sq.|We had the family room which was a tight squeeze for four of us. We should have gone for two doubles but that’s personal choice. The hotel has a lovely peaceful feel and the young staff team were so helpful, knowledgeable and kind. They set a very high standard! Highly recommend this hotel.

Nothing beats an experience staying at a hutong at Beijing. The staff were friendly and helpful, one of them even recommended where to eat good Beijing Roast Duck. We got a free upgrade to a larger room as they were not full for 2 days. During our final night with them, they smoothly shifted us to a smaller room that we booked but no less cozy. We had an enjoyable stay, thank you so much.

Never mind the fact that the location is fantastic and the rooms are clean and charming, I have to say this is the best hotel service I've ever experienced. They cover all the basics with friendliness but besides that they do their utmost to help you with all extra questions. I've had an issue with my recently purchased local sim card. The hotel staff called the customer service of the phone provider until it was solved. They helped us reserve a table at a popular duck restaurant as well and made sure we were sat at our table and ready to eat. Highly recommended!
