"It's a similar story at the $11 billion Zaha Hadid-designed Beijing Daxing Airport, which opens at the end of September with solar farms on its starfish-shaped roof."

7 best-kept experiences within easy reach of Beijing Daxing International Airport - SilverKris

"A vast, starfish-shaped terminal designed by Zaha Hadid that serves as both a major transport hub and an architectural showcase. The 700,000 m² building—the largest single terminal in the world—feels fluid rather than rigid, with sinuous lines, a dizzying gridwork roof that admits generous natural light, and an interior layout acclaimed for being easy and quick to navigate. The project is part of a wider trend of high-profile foreign architecture in the city, and excellent rail and metro links mean visitors can use the efficient connections to reach central palaces, temples and monuments; commercial route developments have also increased international services to the facility." - Peter Neville-Hadley

The modern architecture is stunning worthy of an international airport of Beijing's status. It's easy to get around and is well signposted. It has plenty of serviices & facilities. The WiFi is also easy to connect. Everything is clean & tidy and the personnel do communicate in English. Going through Passport Control and security/ baggage check was quick & efficient so no complaints there either. Overall,it was real easy to get to my Departure Gate in good time. It was also a pleasure to get to the airport on the high speed bullet train from the centre of Beijing. I certainly look forward to coming back here in the future and I don't agree with some of the negative comments about the airport.

Beijing Daxing International Airport is nothing short of architectural brilliance and modern travel efficiency. Designed by Zaha Hadid, this stunning “starfish”-shaped terminal is both visually striking and highly functional — offering travelers a smooth, stress-free experience from check-in to boarding. Despite its size, the layout is intuitive and walkable, with all gates located within a reasonable distance. Everything is clearly signposted, clean, and efficiently operated. Inside, the airport offers a great variety of amenities — from luxury shopping to a wide range of dining options, including familiar favorites like KFC, Starbucks, and other international and Chinese restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a quick coffee, fast food, or a sit-down meal, you’ll find plenty of choices. There’s also free, fast Wi-Fi, smart check-in and security systems (including facial recognition technology), and well-equipped rest areas and lounges for longer layovers. Transport to the city is excellent, with easy access via high-speed rail, metro lines, buses, and expressways.

Huge airport and less crowd. But a little bit far to walk because it is huge airport. We walked about 15 minutes from plane landing to the immigration. Immigration was quick. Collection baggage was quick. A bit far from city from this airport.

One of the most beautiful airports I have ever seen! Like all the other airports in China that we’ve been in, clean and spacious. And there are free luggage carts everywhere. Plan on walking a lot.

Featuring the world's largest terminal, covering approximately 700,000 square meters, Beijing Daxing International Airport is known for its “Starfish” design. Opened in 2019, it is 46KM from city centre but well connected through efficient subways and roads, it only takes 20min by train from Caoqiao station in South West Beijing. The late architect Zaha Hadid herself led the initial design, alongside other collaborators like ADP Ingénierie and the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design, it was one of her last works. The terminal's sweeping curves, organic shapes, and fluid, non-hierarchical spaces are hallmarks of her signature style.

Was here in September recently. Joined a tour group for a 12-day tour of northern Xinjiang. Arrived at the airport early morning and had 7 hours to the next leg to Urumqi so had time to walk around a bit. Had to do baggage scan before immigration clearance. Also did the fingerprint registration first but may not necessary as the fingerprints are taken again at the counter. The immigration queue was long and process was quite slow. The airport itself is nice enough, big with shops spread over a few wings, a couple of mini parks and an exhibition of the airport construction history. Had lunch at the Chum VIP lounge which is just a dining area. Food is ok, only a small variety and nothing special

Awesome architectural design. Very clean and well serviced. Friendly immigration services. I used the Tourism Service Office to book a car to the hotel. Almost for 1 h drive 400 CNY which is really very good price. They were very helpful and can speak good English .

Very welcoming upon landed at Beijing Daxi International Airport. With ABTC , Malaysian can stay for 60days. Clean toilets, equipped with water dispensers. Spacious and comfortable waiting areas. Carousels are efficient too. Happy to be here
