Happy International Gin & Tonic Day: 6 gin distilleries that offer virtual tastings - SilverKris

"A sustainable gin producer founded in 2016, the estate is powered by its own hydroelectricity and sources water from the nearby hill that gives the distillery its name; it sits on Torrisdale Castle Estate in Kintyre and is family-run across multiple generations. Online tastings guide participants through Kintyre Botanical Gin, Kintyre Pink Gin and Tarbert Legbiter Navy Strength Gin, with each pack including recommended tonics and suggestions for mixers and garnishes; sessions are kept small (around 15 people) to remain interactive and include storytelling about the estate and the family’s five-generation history. Tastings are typically priced between £25 and £30 per person and can be tailored to specific needs." - Vanessa Tai

Electricity was out up & down the coast, so they had no plumbing! We promised not to pee & asked for a wee tasting anyway. Owner Emma was lovely, fun, & the apple brandy & all the gins were incredible! We laughed & felt like we had known her all of our lives. A must stop place if you are in the area of Campbeltown. Tell her Sandra & Dee sent you with Love 🥰

Bizarre experience at this place this morning at 10:50am. We drove up to have a coffee in the cafe and buy some gin in the shop - the shop was closed but the cafe door and the tasting school doors were both ajar. The sign said it didn’t open till 11 so we never entered. I looked through the window and saw a member of staff working away who clearly saw me. We were waiting till 11 but she came up to the cafe door and closed and locked it without a word to us! Very very rude ! So we got back in the car and drove away without spending a penny! Clearly need some hospitality training!!!

We did the gin school and had a fantastic time, I'd definitely recommend it as a way to spend an afternoon. You have a lot of botanicals and other flavors to smell and sample on the way to building your own gin. Emma is a knowledgeable and fun host, plus the story behind the distillery and property is great too. With on-site hydro power generation, it's got a great sustainable ethos too.

Thank you for making my birthday treat so special, lovely to meet you all. The cakes were very tasty, and the gin too of course! What a wonderful setting too. Had to feature Crumble in the pictures 😊

Ordered a bottle of vodka from these folks which Royal Mail misplaced. The Beinn an Tuic customer service could not have been more helpful and were a good example of how companies should react when things go wrong.

We had a lovely morning up at Beinn an Tuirc doing the tour and tasting, they were really friendly and welcoming - especially Crumble the dog! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cafe is great too with a wide selection of fresh locally sourced food. I had the spinach and butternut squash orzo with blue cheese and it was delicious! Washed down with a G&T, of course 😉

We had a wonderful time here with a tour and tasting followed by afternoon tea. Emma was so lovely, friendly and engaging, telling us about the history of the house and family, showing us round the distillery, and talking us through several gin tastings. And the tea was delicious, with an absolute load of lovely home-made savoury and sweet treats. It’s great value compared to some places, with plenty of gin included in the price, and miniatures for any drivers. Lovely atmosphere, great people, delicious gin, wonderful day out - can’t recommend it highly enough.

Great place for a long lunch in the sunshine (or a warming break by the fire in colder weather) and the new Burger van is a fantastic addition. We tried the burgers for the first time last week and they were very very good, as were the chips! We had the Beef this time but will be back to try the Wild Boar very soon. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
