My wife, myself and two friends just had a lovely 3 day stay at Bel Estiu. Our host Emile was simply wonderful. She made us wonderful breakfasts and provided us with a lovely place to stay in her converted hamlet home. The rooms are large, with very high ceilings and very comfortable beds. There is plenty of storage space and instant hot water. The interior courtyard is lovely with an outdoor dining space surrounding by old stone buildings. They have put in a swimming pool that faces a large meadow. I have traveled to many parts of the world over the past 50 years and so I feel I can say with some confidence that this was one of the loveliest settings that was both comfortable, private and relaxing.

Bel Estiu is one of the most beautiful and charming places we've ever stayed. Nestled in a peaceful countryside setting, it offers the perfect mix of rustic charm and warm hospitality. The surroundings are serene and picturesque, making it a true escape from the everyday rush. The house itself is thoughtfully restored with great attention to detail. Every room has its own character, and you can feel the love that has gone into creating such a welcoming atmosphere.

How lucky I was to find this dream B&B in the Dordogne! I only wish the weather was better. It's got tasteful decor, a pool, a friendly dog, a few cats and even chickens, a perfect host, delicious breakfasts. If this place was a few hours drive from home, I'd be there every other weekend. Thank you for the beautiful stay, Emilie!!!

We had a lovely week staying at Bel Estiu and can't recommend it enough. Our host, Emilie, was delightful and always ready with a great recommendation. She vets all the local restaurants herself and knows where to get all the best local produce. Speaking of which, the breakfasts she made each morning were delicious. Highlights included homemade jams, local cheese, fresh croissants, fresh juice, and great coffee. ||||The location is a short drive to everywhere you want to visit (Sarlat, Lascaux, Roque St. Christophe, etc.) but is removed enough to enjoy the peaceful countryside. The property has been lovingly renovated, with new amenities and an outdoor pool. Inside, it has been decorated with a keen focus on design. Bel Estiu feels old and modern at the same time. ||||There is a common living room/kitchen downstairs and three bedrooms upstairs.Should you get tired of eating foie gras, guests are free to use the kitchen to cook their meals. Although there were two other couples staying there the entire time, we always felt that we had absolute privacy. Would highly recommend for both couples and families that need a few rooms. ||||Cannot recommend the Bel Estiu enough! Thanks very much to Emilie (and her adorable dog Lazard) for being such lovely hosts!

We spend a great week-end at Bel Estiu, a beautiful maison d'hôtes close to Sarlat. The farmhouse is breathing history, but renovated with a lot of taste and fully compliant with todays' standards (spacious, fresh, modern). Ideally located to discover the area, although guests should not forget to also spend time "at home", enjoying the beautiful setting. Emilie makes the best breakfasts with local ingredients, and she ensures you optimize your stay with her advice on restaurants, village markets, and activities. We hope to go back soon!

We had a wonderful stay at Bel Estiu. Our room was super comfortable: great and large bed, beautiful linen, superb bathroom. There is also a very nice kitchen and a beautiful living room for family/group meeting. We had a very tasty breakfast and Emilie the host was very kind and helpful for tips around the area. We spent also an afternoon at the beautiful pool with a view on the fields. We had a charming and relaxing stay in this beautiful coutryside. We will come back for sure.

My wife and I just completed a 5 night stay at Bel Estiu. Situated in the country not far from the village of Saint Genies in the Périgord Noir region of Dordogne, we were made to feel right at home by the generous hospitality of our hostess, Emilie. The morning breakfasts were excellent and featured such delicious morsels as pear cake and crepes with fresh peaches and chocolate. Emelie took the time to suggest various restaurants in the region, each one of which was right on the money. My favorite was the 4 course pris fixe meal we enjoyed at the Châteaux of Saint Genies. Don’t miss it!||||We also enjoyed learning about the restoration of Bel Estiu. When Emilie showed us pictures of the building before and during the restoration, we couldn’t believe the difference. Since the original stone has been retained on the exterior, guests have the experience of staying in an 18th century structure, but with modern amenities, such as a rainforest shower and a fully equipped modern kitchen, which you can use if you’d like to cook your own supper. There is even a grill at the back of the house where you can have a barbecue.||||We truly enjoyed our stay at Bel Estiu and look forward to returning there for a longer visit. Merci, Emilie! A bientot!||||Elliot and Janet

We stayed here for two nights in March 2017. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. Bel Estiu is a beautiful place, with comfortable spaces. And those are important things, but what makes Bel Estiu a favorite is Emilie. She is warm, welcoming, engaging, and helpful to her guests. Breakfast is great, and we were fortunate enough to get to spend both mornings chatting with Emilie about the area, about life, about whatever felt right. We loved our stay here, and our next trip to France will include a much longer stay in St Genies at Bel Estiu.
