Bel Ray

A friend of mine who is Greek recommended this place so I knew it was legit. This place did not disappoint. I had the Tahini Yogurt along with a Greek coffee, juice and cake of the day. If I had to rate the Tahini yogurt on a scale from 1 to 10, I would give it a "I wanted to lick the plate". Bel Ray also has a cozy atmosphere, with great back ground music and a friendly staff. I will definitely be back.

I love this place. The atmosphere of this place is lovely and cozy. It is the best place to chill anytime of the day. I ordered Freddo espresso and Rachel which is grilled cheese and turkey sandwiches served with some pieces of purple cabbage dressed with sweet honey mustard dressing. It was good and I love that dressing. My friend got shrimp tacos and it was the best looking among us. The portion of food was not enough for Asian 20s like us but the shrimps were fresh.

Very nice, quaint coffee bar / diner with a relaxed atmosphere. We had iced cappuccino along with some excellent breakfast from the menu. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

came here a few times as it’s convenient, food was decent but so so stingy on the portion sizes. the owner must be a greedy anomaly. absurd prices for just the “presentation”. coffee one of the most expensive you will get in athens, tastes alright. the outdoor seating areas smell of sewage. pretentious vibe from staff & policies that i really hope doesn’t become the norm for the athens’ cafe scene, it’s what makes athens UNIQUE & this cafe’s focus on “in and out” customer base is bs that completely ruins the athenian cafe culture vibe. they asked me to leave because i had been there for 2 hours with a laptop?? at midday on a thursday?! never in my life have i heard of such a policy from a half empty cafe, as if its some upmarket restaurant in Paris… luckily theres no shortage of cafes 100x better in Athens.

I changed my review. 1 star ⭐, laptops 💻 after 6pm are NOT allowed! I can understand to have a timeboxed slot, to prevent someone sitting for 5 hours with a coffee but there no point to forbid the laptop usage. What is the point on that? Can I use slack from my mobile phone 📱? Or this is not allowed too??

This place does it all: breakfast, brunch, bar. We had excellent specialty coffee and banana bread in the morning as well as delicious drinks in the evening. What is really special there is the athmosphere. Bright, high ceilings, lots of windows. Both inside and outside very nice to sit. Staff is also incredibly nice and helpful.

The coffee and soft drink selections are plentiful, and the menu has something for everyone. Whether you're a fan of savory brunch plates (and soups) or sweet treats, you're sure to find something you love. And don't forget to try the cake of the day - it's always a delightful surprise! We tried the cheesecake and the carrot cake (Cake of the day) with some cold brews at your place, and it was amazing! The cakes were absolutely delicious. However, we were hoping that the coldbrews would be a little less watery, but the flavor was still fine. Perfect combo for a Saturday morning stroll!

The scrambled egg was good, but the avocado taste like it was not fresh.
