Great place. Unsure about people stating it's in a dangerous part of the city, as it's in the MOST safe area I can think of, been coming here 25 years. City looks worse than it is. Had more people in Santa Barbara CA begging for money. Staf super helpful and friendly. Right by swing bridge 8 minute walk to water taxi. Dive bar near, on the water, or cross the St to a fancy overpriced touristy bar. Main St right there 5 minute walk to Brodie's stock up on cheap food/ water before heading to the cayes. I think people that don't travel much trip out about leaving the main St from the swing bridge. You have to pass 2-3 buildings where*gasp* people are drinking beer and eating from a taco truck. You might God forbid have someone ask you for a dollar or a cigarette and not even in an aggressive manner. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Do reserve ahead they can and do get booked. Try to specify you don't want the downstairs noisy rooms..the st noise and reception area will wake you up early otherwise. Anyone who feels this part of Belize City is dangerous is wrong..the South side is further down that's where you don't want to go. If you're on the way to the water taxi ask the staff to tell you where spoonaz restaurant is they serve a great breakfast. But you can't beat the Belcove for value, safety, location and cleanliness also as mentioned the staff are all awesome.

Very clean, budget rooms with attentive staff. The room was a little small, but the bed was comfortable. Not a tourist destination, but if you are stopping over, it's fine. The city is friendlier and safer in the morning. There's a fresh market by the bus terminal a few blocks away.

I just needed somewhere to sleep for one night in Belize City before heading over to Caye Caulker, there were not too many options so I went for the Belcove. I was initially dubious because of how cheap it was (in comparison to UK prices) but it was the closest to the Water Taxi.|On arrival it doesn't look much but as soon as I entered, the lady was really friendly and I even got my room early, everywhere was spotlessly clean, my room was quite basic and I have to say that the bed wasn't very comfy, but for one night, who cares ?||Decent size room, with a fridge. A random plus point for me was that it had US tv channels and I have been travelling for 3 weeks with next to no english TV, not that I need to watch tv to survive but as a lone traveller its nice to have it on in the back ground !!||I thought it might be noisy as my room was on above the road, but I wasn't aware of anything, out by the river is a nice seating area.||Recommended if you need to be in Belize City for a night.

Fairly overpriced for what you get. The shower didn't have any hot water. The room was tiny and there was a baby crying down the hallway for half the night

You get what you pay for. Hotel is clean and well kept on the inside. Outside is a bit rough but that's the case with most of the buildings in the area. Water pressure is definitely an issue in the shower but I made it work. Location is perfect for people using the water taxi to get to the islands. I wouldn't stay here too long but it's perfect for travelers that's are staying a night or two. Safety is an issue in Belize City at night but I didn't have any issues in this area. I was back to the hotel around 9:30 or 10 each night to play it safe.

The place was very conveniently located in the city center near a grocery store, which was nice for getting some basics. There was also a really good little food convenience eatery around the corner from the hotel as well. The space inside was a little worn for wear but the room itself was fine and despite the shower having a bit of hard water residue on it, everything in the space was clean. Definitely not the Hilton or even Holiday Inn, but if you're just needing a night or two to sleep in Belize City to catch the water taxi or perhaps an excursion it'll do if you wanna save some money.

Very hospitable staff, very welcoming, and well conversant. I was glad most people speak English, as a Spanish learner , I would need a lot of help getting around. So this time I travelled without cell service, the hotel staff would make calls for me ... Very polite of them... Belize has a potential in tourism and kind/polite people are a great investment. So this guy feeding birds, actually offers me a load of white sliced bread as I was passing by, well I wouldn't manage a loaf alone, but the gesture 🙌 was heartwarming. I'm a giver, but I usually don't receive much back, so when someone offers, I'm always touched.
