I'll preface this by saying we had a large group. I think our reservation was for 18, but we ended up having a couple more than that. I'm aware that large groups seem to have a bit more chaos involved, and we were warned that food would take 45+ minutes. No worries right, sounds good. However, it just was an actual dumpster fire experience. I don't blame this on the two bartenders taking care of our table, they have a bar to maintain, let alone a table out of their way of 20~ people. But if a large group was going to be an issue to the restaurant, don't accept large parties or just split them up into two tables of 10~ where servers can take care of it instead of bartenders. Drink runners were disorganized bringing things to wrong spots, my boyfriend's Diet Coke was forgotten about and we had to ask two different people for it; food runners have no clue what they're bringing, a guy brought a pepperoni pizza and called it a Margherita and brought it to the wrong person. This pizza was the only food brought out after 45 minutes, so only one person was eating and then finished before anything else arrived. The food just showed up at random intervals. People that showed up late got their food before us. My boyfriend and I had ordered an appetizer and I'm sure that was forgotten about too, because my dish came out after like an hour and a half (the cooked protein part of my salad was cold but I was starving at this point) and then our appetizer came out five minutes later piping hot. Others in our group said their burgers and fries were cold but we all hadn't eaten since breakfast so reluctantly ate it anyways. My boyfriend's pizza was forgotten about, and a girl's salad was forgotten about. My boyfriend was really put through a ringer in this experience cause basically all his stuff was forgotten. We complained and then the pizza magically showed up in a to-go box, but it wasn't worth the wait because it was thin crust but floppy and doughy.
We all wondered if we were getting bad service because we'd be an auto grat table
Again, if the restaurant can't handle the large group, I don't think they should accept a reservation like that, or be better prepared for it and not just use bartenders for it. Maybe even have managers be more involved with it and check in with everyone.
