Belfountain Conservation Area

Two person in one car, the walking entry fee for two hours is 27CAD. The parking lot is small & has limited parking spots. Doing picnic & flying drone is not allowed. The conservation area is small & well decorated. You can walk the entire area within 1hr. The area has a small suspension bridge, a falls, a small cave, a fox statue, a lily pond with no lily, stairs, a few small bridges, forest area, a fountain etc. The area is not good for new born baby & toddler. Queit area, bathing is not allowed in water. The place is nice, but the time is limited & entry fee is too much with no picnic & fun activities.

We brought our little one along, and navigating the trails was a breeze. The well-maintained paths and scenic views made the experience even more enjoyable. Parking is convenient with plenty of spaces available, and the restrooms are clean and well-located. Whether you’re there for a peaceful stroll or to enjoy the beautiful waterfalls and bridges, Belfountain is a perfect spot for a relaxing day in nature. Highly recommend it

I took a visit here today, to start, it is a 30 dollar entrance fee for 2 hours of entry. (This price was accounted for the amount of people in my group, look at the website to see your price as they may vary.) There are no walk in visits. Though I came here on a rainy day, the views and trails were beautiful. For the most part, the trails are made from wood and metal bridges. There are occasionally rough and natural path areas scattered throughout the hike. There are turns you can make to see a nice view of a waterfall or creek. By the waterfall, there is a cave like structure underneath. Throughout the trails, there are indicators of where you are going and how rough the trail you chose will be. There is an accessible path for wheelchair users, or hikers who want a more child friendly or easier path. I suggest wearing appropriate footwear, preferably something that has grip. If you go on a rainy day, like I did, it makes things a little slippery. I suggest wearing rubber boots, running shoes, and crocs (as long as they're in sport mode and they're not worn down). This is a beautiful little conservation area with lots to see. Lovely walkways around the grounds and the old fountain is beautiful as is the little human made cave. We walked across the bridge and through the woods a bit and then headed back past the big fox statue to the parking. Only limited parts of the experience are accessible. Stairs lead to the cave and bridge and the walk through the woods turns into a dirt path. The one thing that stopped it from being perfect for us was the time limit. You only have two hours. That might be enough time for most but we had someone in our party with a few physical challenges so we were going very slowly and we ran out of time so we couldn’t see everything or had to rush through things at the end. I understand it may get crowded on weekends and during summer holidays but I think they should allow more time on weekdays, especially for anyone that needs accommodation. If they do have those accommodations they are not listed on their webpage.

Really well designed and restored conservation area. Beautiful water falls and walking paths. Lots of sitting areas outside with a great view. Be aware that you must drive in - you cannot walk in! When you are done there are 2 cool coffee shops up the street to enjoy ice cream.

The trails are well-maintained and offer a peaceful walk through nature. The suspension bridge and waterfall are the highlights and make for great photo spots. It’s a perfect spot for a quiet escape from the city, though it can get busy on weekends. Highly recommend for nature lovers and families.

We recently spent a short day here since it’s only about half an hour away from our house. The park was beautiful, with the suspension bridge, boardwalk, and trails all offering great views of the river and waterfalls. The stairs winding through the landscape added a nice touch, too. The park wasn’t crowded when we went, which made it even more enjoyable. We paid $42.30 for parking and admission for four adults and one child, which felt reasonable for the day we had. The only downside is that no picnics are allowed inside. There were charming cafes nearby. After our walk, we stopped by a cozy spot just minutes away for some coffee and snacks. ☕️ It was the perfect way to end our visit. We’re definitely planning to come back, especially in the fall when the leaves change color. 🍂

The conservation area features a short trail along the river, crossing it with three bridges that offer scenic views of the water. The trail is wide but includes some stairs, and completing the main loop takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Note that there is no walk-in entrance; parking permits are sold at the gate, allowing a maximum of 2 hours of parking. The water quality appears to be less than ideal.

Parking: the spaces are limited, reservations available online, the process was easy. It was about $5.65. There is also street parking available by the old main road but will involve walking into the park.. Amenities: The cost per person is 7.00/adult. There are clean bathroom right at the entrance, the staff maintains the park very well even provide dog bags. There are easy to ready maps everywhere. Terrain: there are different trails that range in various levels of difficulty. The front entrance map provides a details overview of the trail. Some routes are accessible, since do have narrow paths and are more challenging. The park it self features trails, fountains, bridges overlooking falls, multiple look out points, streams & plenty of shade. It's beautiful in the spring, summer & fall. Highly recommend coming by early and enjoying a calming stroll.

A very beautiful private park that is about an hour drive from Toronto. They got waterfall, trails and picnic areas. Not bad eh? Can't find something this nice and this close to Toronto. Only downside is this place has limited parking and maybe the fee involved. However, it's worth it. Cause you can come for a picnic with family and friends. Then go for a nice hike.

A beautiful area to walk/explore that is close to Toronto? And a swinging bride? With waterfalls? What's not to love? This park has an entrance fee - I believe it's about $28 per car with up to 6 people (parking plus entrance fee). Others have said you can try and park on side streets and walk in and just pay the entrance fee. There are lots of areas for picnics, lots of shade around, beautiful fountains and lovely views. After you stuff your face, you can walk the trails, part of it going to the Bruce Trails. A great, relaxing way to spend time away from the city.

A fun conservation area that has trails for all levels of hikers. The rushing waterfall viewed from the bridge is a great photo op and gives you a sense of power of the flow. It's fun for all ages and the mix of sun and shaded areas with lots of trees around. Don't be surprized if you find people that are having a full-on photo session on the trails and bridges. We walked the Gorge Loop trail (about 700m round trip) that starts with a mix of wooden path and dirt trails until it disappears into a bit of a choose your own adventure as you traverse along the sloped side of the conservation area. Eventually, you will have to make your way down a bit of a decline onto the shores of the river to cross the bridge back over to the more developed trails of the area. There is a fair amount of parking but on weekends you may find yourself hunting for a spot. On weekdays, they don't normally have someone sitting in the entrance gateway collecting the admission fee but you can pay on your way out. We really enjoyed the leisurely hike amongst the nature that makes use forget we all live in a concrete jungle.

Tip: To avoid their $10 parking fee, park along Bush St., just west of Belfountain General Store. It's a 5-minute walk from the Conservation Area. Entrance fee is $5.75/pp, so save some $$$ and park elsewhere UNLESS you're bringing a baby, stroller, or BBQ/picnic foods. Lovely place to get away from the city for a few hours. There's a picnic/bbq area, nice and shaded, plenty of space. And there are a few trails that features both natural/boardwalk and surround a pond and a gorge. For those of you who have more time, part of the trail also branches off to the Bruce Trail. Otherwise both the pond + gorge trail can be done in an hour. They are fairly easy, but not ideal for someone with mobility issues because you do have to traverse rocks and uneven pavement at some points. The pond didn't smell, but it looked murky and disgusting. Very funny that there was a sign which stated that there wasn't a lifeguard on duty. If you took a dip in there, you'd probably come out with 3 eyes!!! Very relaxing on most parts of the trail as you can hear the water running from the gorge. Great way to spend a day outdoors without getting too sweaty!

I absolutely love waterfalls so I chose to have some wedding pictures at Belfountain. The pictures turned out amazing. The view is gorgeous and there are trails for hikers. The only downfall (no pun intended) is the parking fee. Just park elsewhere possibly on Bush street to avoid that fee. Also, the workers are very rude. If you can get away with not talking to them then you'll definitely enjoy your visit!

I ended up here after my boyfriend took me on a hike in the bruce trail... niagra escarpment just behind his house. It was beautiful and charming. We went on a random day in the week so it wasnt busy and because we hiked from somewhere else we didn't end up paying any fees. Went again in the spring on a weekend and it was busyyyyyyy. So timing is everything but for this small town its a go to spot to take in the views and chill by the water.

First time here and I loved it. Gorgeous view, awesome trail, and beautiful waterfall. Good to go with your partner or with a group of friends. Would love to go back :)

Beautiful view and great way to get exercise while hiking through a wonderful scenery! The air is fresh and great for picnics with family and friends! There are small space for dogs to run but I don't think it is great to bring small dogs on the trail for the long hike! Other then that surrounding this lovely conservatory there are cute small shops and a great ice-cream shop nearby!

Secluded and beautiful conservation park with a small trail around the pond and lots of picnic areas. There is gorgeous suspension bridge with a small water fall in front of it. Plenty of grass areas to sit down in and tables to use. Fishing is allowed and seems to be some small fish in the water. Only $5/ person in the summer and gives you access to all their other parks.

This place used to be great to visit and take in the views. However they have added some insane prices. you now have to pay per car AND per person, so if you have 3 people in your car, prepare $45! absolute ripoff. they haven't added or improved anything, everything is exactly the way it was, except now they charge you 9 times what it used to cost.
