Yelp
Belfre Kitchen is the whole package - a gorgeous space with kind service and great food. Dinner prices are special occasion-level, but the high quality ingredients and creativity of the menu make it a worthy destination.
We had an early weeknight dinner on the first floor. Almost everyone else who came in headed to the upper level, which made it nice and quiet below. The space is beautiful, modern yet warm, and comfortable. Both the host who greeted us and our server were friendly and nicely attentive. More on this later.
We started with a few drinks and were delighted to see a short but very nice non-alcoholic cocktail menu. Two of us had the Mule, which was excellent. We ordered the whipped feta as an appetizer, and I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture because it was so pretty. It was also absolutely delicious, with the combination of feta, fig jam, spicy honey, and pistachios being perfect. It was the hit of the evening.
For mains we had the burger, salmon, crab cakes (appetizer for dinner), and short rib pasta. Everyone was pretty happy with their dishes. One picky star off for the short rib pasta: while the short rib was braised beautifully and the pasta was fresh, I was bummed not to find many of the oyster mushrooms on the ingredient list in the menu.
Finally, dessert! We chose the key lime pie (served in a jar) and crème brûlée. As we were waiting for them to arrive, our server brought over the special apple crisp with a sparkler - she had overheard us mention we were there for my Dad's birthday, an awesome gesture that made our evening.
All in all, Belfre Kitchen is a great place to treat yourself to a classy (but not stuffy) and delicious evening out. They are definitely on our short list from now on!
