Plant and Beef Patty was what we ordered… went in on a Sunday and the £5 for a patty was reasonable but maybe I won’t recommend for a £10. Also, veg one was good like melting cheese and saucy. Beef was not that great, more of salt and better cooked would have been good. Good place to hangout with friends. There’s a raised seating area in front of the photo booth that didn’t make sense since it’s just the table and the stools wasn’t too comfortable of a seating. A menu of the places on each table would have been nice or at least a link to a digital one if there is.

Food awesome, top selection of food truck choices of pizza, wings and burgers. Lamb pizza off the charts. Often queues but good things come to those who wait. Great beer, good selection of seating options from beer keller style tables, to sofas to rooftop booths. Family friendly during the day. DJ appears to be in all days, good tunes so good vibes, laughter and chats for all. From IPA to cocktails so good drinks choices at reasonable prices. Gig venue upstairs, compact but perfectly formed. Been to both standing and seated gigs. Never had a sofa for a gig before. A revelation!

Attended the Rival Consoles gig here last week, and honestly surprised I haven't been here before. Venue was a good size, had an excellent quality sound system and staff were all friendly. Drinks prices seemed to be reasonable and downstairs area looked to be very busy and food smelled great!

Gig! Lovely venue, good staff and reasonable prices in venue. As opposed to say the O2, where a smallish mortgage is required for a round. Anyway, IDER were fantastic. As were the support 👌🏻 Worth a trip, solid evening out.

This place rocks, food and drink amazing and good AF options too. Plus the venue is ace, well worth a trip and a good central location.

This is a hidden gem in the centre of Leeds. It's a university students haven you can get pizza slices half price and a whole host of local beers and ales. Great value, great venue, great atmosphere.

Belgrave Music Hall in Leeds is an absolute gem for anyone looking to enjoy a vibrant atmosphere, fantastic music, and great food and drinks. One of the standout features of this venue is its incredible roof terrace. The terrace offers a perfect escape with stunning views of the city skyline, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment. It's the ideal spot to unwind with friends or simply soak up the sun during the warmer months. During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying the Flamingo, a special drink that truly impressed me. The Flamingo is a delightful blend of refreshing flavors, perfectly balanced to provide a unique and memorable taste experience. Its vibrant presentation matches the lively ambiance of the rooftop, making it a must-try for anyone visiting Belgrave. Overall, Belgrave Music Hall’s combination of great drinks, stunning rooftop views, and an unbeatable atmosphere makes it a top choice in Leeds. Whether you're there for the music, the food, or just a chilled evening out, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
It's interesting this place has been open in Leeds so long yet we don't have anything similar (as I write this I just notice Michael B's review, down the side of my page, says the same thing haha). Normally we copy each other's good stuff so it is surprising. The multi floor, multi purpose concept is good and they have some good ales on tap - I enjoyed the Saltaire triple chocoholic stout. Dough Boys pizza was very nice - base a little crispy for me but great value at £3 a slice - practically a quarter of a pizza and 2 for 1 slices in the early evening which is an incredible bargain. Good range of toppings - I just missed out on the sausage fest which sounded great but really enjoyed the brie and caramelised onion option. The rooftop bar is super cute - it's not exactly panoramic views but the space itself is delightful with snugs and deckchairs.

Yelp
What a terrific venue Belgrave is - I'm jealous that Leeds has them and Manchester lacks one like them! The three storey building is used for events such as gigs, comedy nights, film showings and art installations, but at the weekend it was all about the food at their 'Belgrave Feast'. Every second Saturday of the month a small selection of the north's street food vendors set up here alongside permanent residents Patty Smith's (burgers) and Dough Boys (pizza). There's a full bar serving some very decent cask ales, craft beers and cocktails, and seating on all levels (though the ground floor gets very busy from noon onwards). You're able to explore each floor including their roof terrace which will no doubt be extremely popular when the weather's good - they also had a small arts and crafts market on the first floor when we were there. Free entry and free wifi to boot - the owner-operators certainly know how to run somewhere that seemingly ticks all the boxes. A great afternoon was had and I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Great place for drinks with friends. Plenty of seating over a couple of levels including the rooftop. The music can be quite loud, making conversation difficult at times, but then it is a bar?! Prices are also very reasonable, with drink prices around £5. My friends advise me that the beer selection is excellent. There is a nice aroma of pizza if you sit over my the door as there is a pizza window by Dough Boys if you get peckish while drinking and socializing, which is convenient. It smelt amazing! There was also a burger place in there as well, but that wasn't open during my visit at the weekend. It did get pretty busy, with a mixture of different groups of people, some dressy, some casual, female and male groups of all ages. The music was also varied with different genres all through the evening, which I appreciated. A great find in Leeds, this one!

Yelp
As I wandered through the swathes of party goers on Saturday night, I felt heady on the vibes. Some cool off-kilter electronica sounded out from the DJ, and I felt distinctly Gen Y - the lead in a scene from my own rave movie, or something. It's a place to be seen and scene. Perhaps I'm being overly poetic, I do that sometimes. This grand experience is Leeds' latest live music venue, and it's been a long time coming. Having opened briefly under the guise of simply 'The Belgrave', it was short-lived and you could tell there was potential in the space. Now, it's fully opened and raring to go, with so much going on. The first thing that greets you as you ascend the stairs are the bright neon signs, proclaiming the 'slice bar' (Doughboys Pizza) and the now-infamous roof terrace. There's two areas of seating right in front of the large windows at the entrance, for the cool kids to show off, and great long beer hall style tables in the main ground floor room. It's rustic, it's got the too-cool-to-be-finished unfinished feel, and you'll spot more intriguing facial hair here than at the World Beard And Moustache Championships. Probably. The menu of drinks offers up what I've come to expect from most new and hip venues in Leeds: a selection of craft beers and cocktails, all at a premium price, but (depending on your opinion) worth the spend for a decent drink. The staff have often been stressed and busy on my visits, but not unfriendly. They seem a solid bunch. Further to the excellent pizza, freshly made on sight, you've your choice of fish and chips from the fantastic Fish& as well - although I'm not sure about the hours they're open. On the first floor is where the music happens, and for that, you'll have to wait until I've gone to see Múm on the 21st for some thoughts. (Or go to a gig yourself!) I've heard it's a fantastic space, though, so I expect good things. The roof terrace is something of a marvel though. This is a fairly unheard of concept in Leeds, with only Sky Lounge, Angelica, and Crafthouse offering such delights elsewhere. (As far as I know.) However, this one has to be the coolest of the lot. It's got a distinctly festival vibe, and if I'm right in thinking the chaps that bring you Beacons fest are involved here, you'll see exactly why when you climb to the top - faux grass lawns, drinking sheds, deck chairs, and chimneys that seem to amplify the live music from the floor below. Now that's frackin' cool. But can you get a chilled beverage without having to go all the way back downstairs? Yes you can, from the Brooklyn Lager shed. It's pricey, but it's worth not having to go down and back up. So, the conclusion: It's absolutely worth heading over and checking out. It's so damned cool. Even in this wintry weather, grabbing a can and reclining almost horizontally in the deck chairs, whilst looking over Leeds, has a charm of its own.

Yelp
A very quick review, popped in on saturday afternoon just for a look around. Stayed for a couple if hours! Love the physical space, plenty of seating, long tables with benches on the main floor and smaller sofas and chairs on a raised area. Great choice of beers and a wonderful white Rioja which i havent had before. The roof garden is just so quirky and original, where else can you sit in a garden shed and drink wine?

Yelp
As a performer and as a customer, this place is great. Lovely, pretty cheap food, pizza from the slice bar, fish and chips or damn good burgers, illuminated in neon. It's a little unfinished- rough around the edges hipster, but not painfully so. Cocktails and craft beers, probably from a local micro brewery, i'm just assuming. But what I love about the place is the stage, the backstage, and the bar space, place for stalls and merch, sofas even for shows, seats round the edge, odd booth type areas, all comfy, and with a good enough view of the action. Though if you go a floor higher, theres the roof terrace too, strung with bright lanterns, very faux glasto and another wendy house of a bar up there too, it's even pretty in the rain, with all the little areas and chairs you can drink. I'd go again, particularly for shows and food, check out whats on, I'd recommend live music, the wet spot and the peep show there.

Yelp
Wow - check out the roof 'garden'! Leeds needs more places such as this, something a little more than the run of the mill bars & pubs! As I understand it the venue is managing to attract some pretty good bands for their music hall, so for band fans its worth checking out the listings (although I've not been onto that floor of the venue myself). It's in the right area of town to fit in with the other popular bars such as Sandinista, Mojo, Reform & Verve with a music policy to match. One draw back is the bar prices as its probably a little more than you'd expect from an indie type of venue like this - but it's not too much to put me off going back again (and again, and again, and again)..

Yelp
This place is regularly visited. It is good for any occasion or group of people. I used to gravitate towards the roof top terrace but of late my visits lean towards a slice of pizza followed by an event on the elusive first floor. Let's start at the beginning... The ground floor has pizza and burgers on offer so you do not have to leave when you get the munchies. There is a small dance floor area but mostly packed with tables and benches. The first floor is an events space, I have only seen the Wet Spot (Burlesque) night here but it has a fully stocked bar and bundled together sofas. I have never seen the second floor but can imagine it is top notch. The roof terrace is quaint and perfect come rain or shine. It has plenty if covered areas and deck chairs for the brave. With two half stocked bars you could stay up there forever.

Yelp
I visited this venue the other week for a friends music project event. Seems to have a great atmosphere. Some great equipment in the private room upstairs, decent sound system from what I could tell. Serving food and some great tunes the place has a steady stream of causal punters! I would certainly go back for a beer or two! Shame no free WiFi. Plugs are next to most tables. (Sorry I'm an engineer so typically have some tech comments in my reviews)

Yelp
I am only writing this review for the venue angle of this place rather than the downstairs cafe area. I saw The Icarus Line here in November - one of the most sparsely attended shows I have ever seen with less than 25 people watching! Having said that Belgrave Music Halll seemed well run with nice people behind the bar, and, to my surprise, a very good selection of premium American beers. When so many places - the Academy venues in particular - have such a poor range of the 'usual suspects' in the dull beer world (Carling, Foster, John Smiths etc.) it was refreshing to find such excellence. These beers aren't cheap when you buy them off the shelf so in a bar they were always going to be pricey. The upstairs section - where I spent the evening - is a deceptively large area. The shabby, winding staircase that goes up to it doesn't appear to be going anywhere and I had to ask if there was a bar upstairs as I expected to find a small room and not much else. Instead there was a largish gig area with an adjoining bar room behind, both a very good size. The sound system - very loud at the show I attended - was really good. I am a terrible snob for sound quality but the place got it just right for The Icarus Line, who are one of the noisiest and most aggressive live bands I have ever seen. So often sound quality is compromised for 'post-hardcore'/punk bands like this, but not in this case. The lack of numbers meant no queues at the bar or toilets so it was a comfy night. Even when it's full I can't imagine it being too much as there's lots of space and nice sofas dotted about to sit on. I can't give it a full five ***** star review because... well, the place is just a little shabby and could do with come mild refurbishment. The stairs were partly stacked with catering stuff and it wasn't clear that they were actually leading anywhere bar some sort of storage area. It's ideally situated for transport with the hub of New Briggate's bus stops a minute's walk away. And if you fancy some really special beer before the show you go to there is the ever wonderful North Bar a stone's throw away. This place has serious potential. The space the bands perform in is ideal - great sound, well set out and with a good amount of space. It needs some mild tweaking but this is another little gem - alongside Wharf Chambers and the Brudenell - in Leeds' burgeoning venue trail. I hope I'll be back soon enough!

Yelp
Even in November the roof top garden is a joy to behold. I managed to man it out for one drink in the cold before the wind got the better of us. Bedecked with beach huts, gazebos and fairy lights, it is a little haven of peace in the heart of the city. I hope that more bars follow suit and exploit their roof space as it would make the summer much more fun. Escaping the cold, we retired to the bar and sampled a rather scrumptious mulled wine. The decor downstairs is a little stark for my liking, but that is just personal taste. I like the fact that you can buy pizza by the slice as well as fish and chips. The food is reasonably priced, so next time I go I will make sure I go hungry!

Yelp
This is going to be a brief one seeing as my memory by this point of last night was seriously impaired, but I do remember being fairly impressed. It was late on a Saturday night, so as you can imagine it was horrendously busy. But we got some drinks and went up to the rooftop terrace. It may have been freezing outside by this point (I've gotta say - disappointed there weren't heaters up there..), but it's really nice up there so I didn't care all that much. It's nicely decked out, and it's a bit of a novelty getting to sit on a rooftop so I enjoyed it a lot. In fact I can imagine this being my favourite spot during the warmer months. This clearly needs a more sober visit and an updated review at some point, so I'll come back to it. For now though, a promising start. But they REALLY need heaters up on the terrace while it's cold.

Yelp
Hidden gem! Gorgeous roof terrace, lovely food and coffees AND they hold quirky events such as quizs and record fairs. Our 1st visit was during 'Greedy Pig's brunch event. Great for lunch or eve food. Awesome as part of a pub crawl

Matt P.

Yelp
It's a little bit hipster, and a little bit studenty, and a little bit a fantastic use of space... And it's the last bit that is great about Belgrave. The size and unassuming grandeur of the venue makes it in my opinion very unique to Leeds, and also probably makes it a good 'event' venue. Oh, and then there's the roof terrace! The drinks selection was fairly decent (even if the people serving them weren't the most interested in the patrons), and the food options were top notch - and cheap rather surprisingly! It's a beautiful place, filled with hipster 'children', that serves cold, premium drinks and has an awesome roof terrace. It's unique. And bloody good too.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
The Belgrave is a really cool bar, full of interesting beers and great music. It is home to Dough Boys pizza stall which is open late and has yummy veggie options (they will make the pizza vegan if you ask). They also have a gig venue upstairs and host cool foodie events like The Belgrave Feast which I always seem to miss but really want to go to! Definitely one of my favourite places to go in Leeds.

Yelp
Its the new Nation!! Proclaims my friend who has shared about every night i choose to remember in Leeds with me at that same trusty establishment. So with high expectations i set out for the Belgrave. What a nice surprise to find it so close to Sandinista and Milos and a whole host of bars in what is rapidly becoming my favourite area of Leeds of a night. Once in the ground floor is somewhat reminiscent to me of some Spanish and eastern European bars, large open plan, a odd array of furniture and in this particular floor a very fine pizza restaurant. They play a baffling variety of music which could be whitewashed as hipster but really flows from all kinds of pop to electronica and other exciting musicy things. Upstairs there are rooms i presume are private (or just very "cool", too cool for little ol me) and at the very height (and possibly the real seller for me) the roof terrace. A pretty large space bestrewn with deck chairs and pergolas and each side boasting a fair view of the city at night. A little bottle bar has just popped up in one of the sheds too (as they are wont to do i suppose) and so you've almost no reason to go back down (apart from pizza, potty breaks and the occasional boogie). Anyway, long rambling story short, it really is just how i felt about Nation when i first found it. Somewhere i felt i could go and spend hours doing nothing, and that was no bad thing. "So much more than a club" i suppose i'd say. :-)

Yelp
This is the kind of place that Leeds needs, It has the usual cool bar with a very good selection of beers, at average Leeds prices, the bar staff are all very helpful (and smile which is always a plus) and the bar room is a great social area. I like the fact that you can get decent snacks and good beer and then sit at a long wooden bench, in some kind of Viking mode. On venturing up the stairs, the decor has been kept very basic and feels like a warehouse (another thing i like,,, it's not fussy). The next floor is the venue, it says it's a 200 capacity space, and i can believe that they may have been told to keep to this for safety reasons because the space could hold a lot more. I was there for the opening weekend when there was a mini festival, so i managed to catch Black moth rocking the place out very well indeed. I stayed at the back in the lounge bit of the venue in the comfy chairs next to the well stocked bottle bar. This is a venue to rival a lot of small/mid range venues in Leeds. I then ventured onto the roof terrace which is the bit they have got spot on, and come summer i can predict large ques to get up there. It's fantastic, with it's fake grass, garden sheds, picnic tables and multiple levels, it really feels a bit new york loft/rooftop and even in some of the dodgy weather we've had recently i still venture up and sit with friends in the sheds. The door staff/security are ever present but have also been on the 'be nice' course that the bar staff must have been on. All in all this place has got it right, although a word of warning to bands wanting to play here,,, make sure you have a good following because the venue feels big! Top marks Belgrave I intend to spend a great deal of next summer on your roof !

Jo P.

Yelp
Good points: Roof terrace Pizza - very good Decent drinks selection (Slightly) cool Bad points: Lingering fart smell (you know what I mean) Slightly pricey Can get packed

Mia H.

Yelp
Leeds has been waiting for a venue quite like this one. With bands, excellent DJs, pizza, fish & chips, banter and a roof terrace to die for, this place oozes COOL! The opening weekend was absolutely heaving with a half hour wait to get on the roof terrace (unless you knew someone in the know!), but the bands really made the most of the huge gig room and abundance of people. When I did finally get onto the roof terrace it was amazing.....dotted with little sheds and fake grass, it is one of the best outdoor spaces in the city. This place has so much potential that I hope they ditch the bar staff who get so drunk they forget who they are serving and cause massive delays at the bar AND they replace loo roll in the much used ladies loos! Then it will be a delight!

John H.

Yelp
Excellent idea to have food stalls set up in a bar, and there's a good vibe, plus shows. The only problem is the music is too loud sometimes, loud music is fine a bit later on but not at 5pm when people are just having after work drinks!
