Belhurst Castle and Winery

My sister and I planned a winter winery adventure and stayed overnight at the castle. It is a lovely property and every staff member we encountered from the front desk to the wine tasting and gift shop to our dinner at the tavern was friendly, helpful and willing to answer any questions. We stayed in the only room with two queen beds and loved the fireplace and full lake view. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. To finish our stay we were pleasantly surprised by the continental breakfast. We will definitely be back!

Our family had such a lovey time and experience. We had stayed in the origional part of the castle. Our room was clean and orderly. My wife and i had enjoyed the wine spicket only available to guess whom stay with in the castle. Staff had gone out of thier way to accommodate. The gentleman in the wine/ gift shop serving our complementary wine tasting with our stay was very knowledgeable and pleasant to take with, apologies of for getting your name. Brandon from stone cutters had especially stood out by mentally taking our detailed order and delivering it to our room at our requested time. The food was very good for the value. It had been later in the evening, where I had sat cozy by the main fire place after getting ice before returning to my room. I had 4 different staff members ask after the fact if I had needed ice ( including Bandon him self) due to noticing my bucket resting with me. We all enjoyed the complementary breakfast the following morning. If i could make any recommendations, its time to change out the mattresses, both bed and pull out, at least in the tower sweet where we had stayed. Over all, highly impressed and looking forward to returning! Thankyou all for a memorable experience

I wanted to take a moment to rave about how wonderful our stay was at the Belhurst Castle. My parents, husband and I stayed in two rooms at the Vinifera Inn, and the rooms were large, immaculately clean, and overlooked the beautiful Seneca Lake. My mom and I had a massage and facial, respectively, which your staff was able to accommodate on short notice (due to the snow we got up there, we ended up being “snowed in” one afternoon/ night) and the services were fabulous. We also enjoyed some happy hour drinks and snacks, along with your wine tasting (and upgraded to the cheese and chocolate tasting which was so much fun) and enjoyed breakfast each morning. Staying at the Belhurst made us feel like kings and queens! It’s a beautiful property and we look forward to coming back another time (maybe in the spring/summer). Thank you for making our stay incredible!

We enjoyed our stay Monday Sept.22 at the Castle. The room was clean and comfortable. Lunch At Stonecutters was very good and our server Kassidy was friendly and helpful .Later for happy hour Kyle was very busy but made sure he gave us great service and his drinks were very good. Dinner at Edgars was excellent with a nice relaxing atmosphere. Our server Melissa was very friendly and attentive making for a great experience. Thank you for making our 30th Wedding Anniversary a memorable one. We look forward to coming

While we rarely make if so are north on our annual Finger Lakes pilgrimage, my partner and I stopped in yesterday, December 7, for a wine tasting. Katie O'Toole was a wonderul host. We will certainly be pairing your Pinot Noir with cheesecake as she suggested. Loved the buy two, get one. Tasting room has a great "vibe" and we will be back. Kudos, Kevin and Tom

I found the White Springs Manor on the Internet, loved what I saw on the website, and I booked a room. All of my expectations were more than fulfilled. White Springs was a restful, graceful, peaceful setting where I could wind down from the previous part of my trip and rest up for the next part. The view over the vineyard down to the lake was serene and restorative. The room was beautifully appointed. I slept wonderfully! One of my nicest hotel stays ever. I had such a good time that I went a little out of my way to stay at White Springs again on my way back home. Though I booked a different room, it was also beautifully appointed. And having seen two guest rooms, I got an idea of how the owners had tastefully and creatively adapted the manor to serve as a hotel. Once again being out on a beautiful grounds with a view of the lake in the distance was very peaceful. I slept wonderfully again! I will certainly plan to stay at the White Springs Manor whenever my travels bring me through that area.

This was our 4th time visiting and staying at the Belhurst. We always have a great experience. It is close to local wineries and not a far drive from downtown Geneva so it's always fun to explore the area and find something new to try. The hotel is clean and beautiful with a very romantic and historical charm, especially in the castle part. The views of the lake from the rooms we have stayed in both in the castle and the Vinefera are breathtaking especially of the sunrise over the lake. We have eaten in the past at Edgar's and have enjoyed our meal, but this past visit decided to eat at Stonecutters and try a local restaurant in Geneva instead. Both Stonecutters and the restaurant had delicious food. We received a complimentary wine tasting as part of staying at the Belhurst so enjoyed that experience very much. The staff in the wine/gift shop was very nice and provided a lot of information on each wine during our tasting. Unfortunately, sleep was an issue this past visit. The mattress is very unsupportive and uncomfortable and neighboring guests kept trying to cast their devices to our television (thinking it was their television in their room) so our TV kept turning on randomly in the middle of the night waking us up. We would recommend replacing the mattresses and perhaps noting the name of the TV for guests visibly in each room so they can cast to the correct TV if they want to do that. Also, there is no microwave in the room so if you have leftovers from dinner, you cannot reheat them. Overall, we do recommend visiting/staying at the Belhurst and we look forward to another visit soon!

Stopped in while touring some of the wineries around the lake. Beautiful property. Seems to be a popular wedding location. Definitely a luxury hotel experience but the staff was still very welcoming and friendly for people just enjoying the wineries. They had excellent cheeses and truffles. Pre set flights for tastings. Some of the wines left a lot to be desired but the overall experience made up for it.

Worst winery I've ever been to. Basically a glorified souvenir shop. Came here on a wine tour and in a region with a ton of great winery options, this was remarkable. The atmosphere is absolutely dead. The staff did not care about what they were doing; didn't even offer a description of the wines, most which go by a made up name versus the name of a grape, even when asked. All the server could do is repeat a card written in front of her, and was stand-offish when I asked basic questions that anyone working in a winery should be able to answer. That is atrocious in an area where you can spit anywhere and hit a winery. Every wine I tasted had signs of contamination. The after taste is off with a medicinal tinge, which is a sign that they didn't clean something, which in turn threw off the fermentation. Of the 5 wines I tasted, I only finished 2 and threw out the rest. If it wasn't a tour, I would've walked out. The prices in the shop were atrocious too. Far more expensive than the far better wineries we visited. You couldn't pay me to come back here. Nice grounds but a waste of time otherwise.

This was our first stop on a wine tour. While it was a good pick and the property is beautiful, we wish that the guide for our wine testing was a little bit more informative. We were told to pick out our five wines and then the guide would tell us about them, but we wanted to know that information upfront to help us pick the wines and understand their flavors better before picking. we think the guide was new, so there were no real issues. I did end up buying a bottle of gentleman which was super super sweet which is what I go for.

We were here for a wine tasting fairly good price, but I don't drink my friends. Enjoyed the tastings. My one friend did a chocolate wine pairing and enjoyed it. I ended up ordering the chocolate truffles. They were good. We went to lunch and had to wait which was interesting for a Friday. The food was good and I had a sandwich. It was very good. The fries were good. My friends all enjoyed their meals but the best was the chowder. It was very tasty. They change this menu a lot , so it's always different when you go back. Worth the trip the grounds are beautiful. The servers were nice and attentive. And as you know I'm a water snob the water was good.

Great ambience and totally overwhelming scenery... But we came for a wine tasting - and - Not so impressed with the wine.

This was possibly the worst service I have ever had. Came here for a bachelorette party for dinner at 7. Stood at the hostess stand for 10 minutes until finally someone came up to us got seated in a beautiful room, I think the library? After 10 to 15 minutes of being in the room and no one coming up to us, I went and found my server. He took her drink order and promised us bread. This is at about 7:20-7:25. My drink did not come until 7:50. We didn't get bread until 8:15!!! AN HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES WE HAD BEEN THERE WITHOUT BREAD?!?! I don't know about you, but that's freaking crazy. 830 finally rolls around and we get our salads. I think we got her dinner maybe 15-20 minutes after that. I got the fillet and to be honest it was terrible. How is a fillet not tender when it is cooked, medium rare? It literally cut like a sirloin. I work at a steakhouse I've made fillet that was awful. at the end, our server tried making up for it by giving us dessert to go but at this point, we've been there for 2+ hours and we just wanna freaking leave. My friend got the chicken Parm that part was good. That's the only positive thing I'm gonna say.

We really enjoyed our stay at Belhurst this past week. We stayed in "The Study" and really loved the room. We had drinks several times in Stonecutters and the staff there is amazing. The grounds are lovely and we had a very good wine tasting with an extremely knowledgeable employee. Actually, all the staff were really nice. If you are looking for unique place to stay, I do recommend Belhurst. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the beds could use some updating (especially if you have a bad back).

I came here the first week of October because I had family in town and wanted to visit some of the wineries along the finger Lakes. We also wanted to take in the fall foliage and the beautiful day. I decided to come to this winery because it is in Seneca Lake and you can dine here as well as have a wine tasting. The castle is gorgeous and it's on the national historic Registry. There's plenty of parking. And two restaurants and a bar. You can dine indoor or outdoor at the formal restaurant Edgars. There's also a spa as well as two grand halls for formal events such as weddings. We saw two weddings while we were there that day. One of the weddings was outdoor on the lawn the other wedding I'm not sure but we did see the cocktail hour after the ceremony on the other side of the castle. I chose their preset tasting with cheese which was really good the wines from upstate New York are really crisp and refreshing. I would definitely come back to this location possibly for a spa day and dinner and wine tasting. The customer service was excellent and it was a great day

We recently held our wedding at Belhurst on February 29th. We had a wonderful experience working with Morgan to put it all together. She was so personable, responsive, and prepared. We had the pleasure of enjoying our rehearsal dinner the evening before. This was our only small frustration of the stay as it took a long time to receive our meals - of course we were also in attendance with 16 guests. The server was great! He kept drinks filled and the table happy until food arrived. The bridal party got to stay in the tower suite too, which was stunning! The view of the sunrise was something everyone needs to see. Our big day ended up going perfectly thanks to the wonderful team at Belhurst! They answered all our questions, did all the set up / take down, and made such an enjoyable atmosphere. We highly reccomend Belhurst as an event venue. We will certainly be back for anniversaries (every 4 years lol) and more. Thank you Belhurst!

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. First stop on our weekend trip to Seneca Lake in Finger Lakes. We came in when it was already dark and didn't really get to view the castle. We expect to come back and look around. Enjoyed the Pinot Noir so much I'm bringing some home!!

Popped in this past Saturday to look around. Possibly for a future stay. That won't happen. The front desk lady was kind of rude. I had a Belhurst brochure in my hand and when I went to ask her some questions, she told me that "everything you need to know is on the website". Okay... That was odd. We're here. Why can't she give me some of the basics about the hotel/castle. Then proceeds to lecture me that a winery and a vineyard are not the same thing. Okay.. I know that and it had nothing to do with my questions. The setting is gorgeous but doesn't make up for lack of hospitality.

My husband and I stayed at the Vinifera Inn (newer part of the hotel) for 4 nights in August for our annual anniversary trip. We enjoyed our stay and the only reason for 4 stars is due to lack of amenities for the price point. The room was spacious and included 2 sinks (1 in bathroom, 1 out), an amazing jacuzzi that I used twice, and a fireplace (turned off for the summer). The bed and pillows were good enough but the mattress could definitely use updating. The shower was also just ok - hot water, but the shower head was low (I'm 5'8") and nothing fancy. The tv was small and not a smart tv, but had a good variety of channels and an HDMI port to connect to a laptop and stream (Wi-Fi was good enough). The breakfast was also very bare bones - pre-packaged bagels/muffins and a few pre-packaged options of cold cereal, mediocre coffee/tea (though large quantities of coffee and always hot), bottles of cranberry and apple juice, a prepackaged cup of oatmeal, and some oranges. We opted to grab breakfast elsewhere (Tim Hortons and Wegmans are good options for cheap baked goods). We received a voucher for 2 free wine tastings right near the check-in area. One of the best parts about this hotel was the friendly staff who always smiled and greeted us. I'd like to return again in the winter when we can use the fireplace!

Went to dinner with 12 people, sat us in a separate room; the waiter was the highlight of the meal. Out of the 12 meals two people were really satisfied. heavily salted the polenta with vegetables. One was sent back, the other wasn't eaten. Multiple entrées were lukewarm and obviously under heaters for an extended period of time. Maybe they were lukewarm because the helpers dropped off the food in our private dining area, then the waiter takes 3 to 4 minutes to come in and serve the food to 12 people, then takes another 3 minutes to bring in an extra plate for one of the shared entrées. In summary very underwhelming, especially for the high price point.

Haven't stayed overnight here; just a review of the tasting. Such a beautiful place! The tasting spot isn't anything special - just at a bar inside their gift shop - but you can step outside and take in the breathtaking views of Seneca Lake. There are a few tables and benches outside for you to just sit down and take it all in. Enjoyed the wine and hard ciders here, esp the Dry Riesling, "Red," and Mabel's Kinfolk hard cider. They had some cheese pairing option but was en route to dinner so not able to try. Will definitely return!

Wow! What an amazing time hanging around the Belhurst Castle was for us and could be for you too! We didn't come for the wine tasting, which is probably the biggest draw, but eating here, interacting with the other patrons and walking the grounds proved to be an EPIC TIME nonetheless! There are the two restaurants, Edgar's and Stonecutters. Edgar's is a steak house and was fully booked up, however we did get a couple glasses of good wine at the bar and hung out around their huge fireplace for a bit. Stonecutters had tables open, and I had maybe the best seafood chowder served in a toasted bread bowl that man has ever known (these statement have been evaluated and found to be accurate by the International Bread Bowl Jurists Organization). There are rooms to rent here that range from $195 a night to the master suit in the castle's tower at about $500 a night. This place sounds like a perfect place to have that next group party, romantic getaway or even solo inspirational trip to sequester yourself within Behurst's charm in order to write that great American novel. Speaking of novels, our specific time had all the hallmarks of a great read, as our evening brought upon us bouts of ADVENTURE, ROMANCE, DRAMA & even MYSTERY: ADVENTURE While waiting for our table, we were drinking wine around the patio fire and we met a lovely couple. She was a vineyard & day spa owner from Napa Valley and he was an old wooden ship refurbisher from Skaneateles. They invited us to join us on their next sailing vessel's maiden voyage once it's fully refurbished. We agreed to strap on our sea legs and join them. ROMANCE We accidentally crashed two celebrations of eternal love (aww, how cute!). One of which, and engagement party between two gay men. We were drawn to this party by their humor, considering their cake had a very specific human body part crafted out of fondant. They let us, and even insisted that we touch the cake (true story). The second of which was a bachelorette party from Buffalo. They let us join them for Drag Queen Bingo (also a true story). DRAMA Drag Queen Bingo didn't quite work out. Little did we all know it's an uber hit, and showing up an hour and a half late and drunk already that there's no chance of you getting in. Plus with CUOMO-19, and all the restrictions that are placed on bar patrons these days... We all moved onto another bar down the street. MYSTERY Somebody farted. A friend of mine in our original group smelled it and started asking, "Did you do it? How about you? Did any of you really pretty bachelorettes do it? No? How about you, Jim B.?" Everyone turned their attention to me and I said, "No. it wasn't me". (It was me.) There you have it. Didn't I tell you it was an EPIC TIME?! Book your trip today.

What a beautiful, scenic spot! It's a winery and a hotel and has banquet facilities. I came in for a wine tasting - didn't quite live any of the wines I tried, but it's a flight of 5 wines for $10, so you could work your way through the list - specially if there's 2 of you - and possibly find something to love. That said, they have a lovely outdoor seating area with gorgeous views of the Lake Seneca. There was a wedding happening in the grounds that looked absolutely beautiful! The venue itself looks like an upscale hotel with a restaurant on the premises and the staff was all very professional. Beautiful place to visit and spend some time at!

The good news about Belhurst Castle is that the setting is amazing, beautiful lakefront setting. We had booked a room in the castle that is up 2 large flights of stairs, no elevator and no staff to bring up the bags. We should have been alerted about this when booking the room. The authentity of the castle is at first charming, but there are musty smells around the hotel. They serve a very mediocre continental breakfast with packaged lenders bagels and packaged muffins you can buy at a rest stop. I would expect more gIven the price of our stay. The few staff members there were very lovely.

I write this from the perspective of someone who 1) actually stayed here overnight (2 nights) with significant other very recently, and 2) grew up in Geneva and occasionally dined here so I know what this place was like 40 years ago. This review is limited to the old Belhurst Castle acommodations. First, unless you enjoy bats flying around your room at night, don't stay in Room 104 which has a chimney that is not enclosed by anything substantial. Second, the decor is what I would term 19th century dilapidation. That is, it may have been redorated in the 19th century style, but not in this century. The attached bathroom I would rate a 3, the room itself a 2 (windows are very dirty and seem to be clogged with bits of cloth, paper etc. by other visitors attempting to keep bugs out), woodwork was probably last tended to around 1980, furniture is definitely 1870s period and shows it, flocked wallpaper is about to let go completely, carpets are very old and presumably dirty, etc. In short, the owner of this property is milking the reputation of the Castle for all it is worth (and then some) and although the grounds and the newer parts of this property are far superior, the old Castle is suffering from a great deal of neglect, and I can't even call it benign. It is obviously intentional. Oh, and if I had a picture of the bat I would have posted it, but it would not land.

I spent a night at Belhurst Castle in Geneva, NY.The castle is amazing and beautiful.The grounds are neatly decorated with shrubs and flowers.A fire pit brought us together with two other couples we enjoyed conversing with.The staff whether it was in the restaurant, spa or the wine room are all friendly, courteous and attentive.The tower suite was beautifully decorated, clean and spaceous.I especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony enjoying the view of Seneca Lake.After experiencing some unexplained events,I must admit I slept with the lights on.This is truly a beautiful hotel,and for me was an amazing experience.

After waiting for almost a year for my reservation, I spent the night in this beautiful, somewhat mysterious castle located in Geneva,NY. I AM somewhat adventurous,enjoy scary tales and movies. There are three haunted hotels at Belhurst and I was determined to stay in one of the most active rooms.The tower suite I reserved was simply gorgeous,beautifully decorated and very spacious.The balcony off the suite had chairs where you could sit, relax and enjoy the view of Serene Seneca Lake. There was a sitting room that led to a winding staircase taking you to a tower where you could also sit and enjoy the view. After experiencing some unexplained events, true to accounts of paranormal activity, the room did not disappoint.The castle is listed in the Haunted History Trail and you may want to read up on its history before making a reservation or you may find an unpaid guest in your room.

Only here for wine tasting. The castle was really beautiful from the outside. A wedding was happening outdoors as well and it was just a beautiful day to be here to celebrate. I enjoyed the wine tasting. It was $5 for 5 tastings. I didn't LOVE the wines as they were not sweet enough for my liking. I did enjoy the Neptune, Knight and Carrie. The Isabella Sparkling smelled amazing but didn't taste the way I would've liked it but my preference. (I love sweet wines... sorry to those who hate me for this) The lady who worked with us.. Jocelyn was very sweet and nice!! She was fairly new here but we had a really great conversation and she was able to assist me with which wines to try. Would recommend friends here!

We really hoped the reviews were wrong. My husband and I received a gift certificate for our wedding and decided to use it for our anniversary. I booked the Billiard Room which would have been cool had it been clean. The carpet was so gross, probably a good two inches of dust on everything and someone had written "wash me" in the dresser mirror. The bathroom floor had someone else's hair on it when we checked in- they definitely didn't clean behind the door or under the small corner table. The room has a cool balcony but when we went out there, there was a wadded up wet tissue ball on the floor under the window, an old (not in use) window air conditioner and so much dust in the windows and curtains...I was grossed out. I wasn't sure I would even be able to sleep there. We listened to the reviews and canceled our dinner reservation at Edgar's and ate at the Stonecutter's Tavern, which is walk-ins only. We put our name in and thought we would get a drink at the bar and take it outside while we waited. It took almost a half hour to get two glasses of Prosecco and cash out so we could go outside. They were so understaffed; the staff was so stressed out...it made for an uncomfortable experience. We just wanted to go to bed so we could get up and check out. We saw a sterno set up and thought maybe they had read the reviews and did something about the breakfast offerings. Wrong again! We got up, went downstairs to the same packaged bagels and muffins as mentioned in other reviews. I turned around, went back upstairs, got our stuff, and went to check out. For $300/night this place is nothing short of an absolute tragedy. While the view and architecture are beautiful, but the building is clearly owned by people who know nothing about the hospitality industry and if they do, they just don't care!

What do you do on a day off? especially when it's National Wine Day! One of the reasons I chose this place is I have an obsession with British Royalty so going to taste wine in a castle are two of my favorite things. They actually have an awesome set up...Winery, restaurant and hotel with spa. Why would you go anywhere else? we actually tried 2 out of 4! This review is of the wine tasting. The room is very large with many different things look at and or purchase. While tasting you look out to Seneca Lake. It was $5 for a tasting and they gave us $2 off wine purchase. Which of course we used the coupons. They actually had a wide variety of wines. We ended up buying a wine called Knight! And the Pinot Grigio, this have great flavor. After wine tasting we had some lunch! that will be another review. Our plan is to come back and stay for a day or 2.

We enjoyed our stay at the castle (in the more modern Inn side): it was an easy experience with a lot of relaxation and comfort, including fireplace and jacuzzi tub right in the room -- with a view right onto Seneca Lake. The weather was perfect for strolling the well-maintained grounds and simply taking in the view and fresh air. The room also came with complimentary wine or beer tasting in their gift shop; the beer selection was minimal, so we opted for the wines, which were better than I expected them to be an had some unique pours (especially the cab franc icewine and our favorite, the Neptune white blend.)

I am upset with myself for not listening to the bad reviews...they are bad for a reason! We made reservations for dinner inside We were served water and menus...half hour later after not seeing our waitress again we had no choice but to leave... Place was lacking customers and atmosphere. There were 4 tables with customers and 3 waitresses. Stay away

This review is strictly for the brunch buffet. We go to the brunch buffet a lot because it's a nice halfway spot for meeting up with my family. It's handicap accessible for my father and the actual castle is quite beautiful with a great view. Speaking strictly food wise- The price that you pay for the buffet isn't really worth it. There is one room thats tucked in that has a few salads, cheese/crackers, some veggies, and meats. It's also the room with all the desserts and the last time we visited they had a chocolate fountain. My kids were totally impressed with it. With your buffet, you do get the choice of a complimentary bloody mary or mimosa. My mimosa was mostly orange juice and very little champagne. The bloody mary was pretty good though! On the hot food table you'll find the classics: Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, and waffles. You'll get two specialty dishes, this time we went they had some sort of stuffed fish and something like the shephards pie. Then you'll have your omelet bar that you can create and have made for you in front of you. Lastly, there is one or two different carved meats. It's definitely plenty of food but lacks on the vegetarian/vegan side unless you want to eat a plain salad and some potatoes. It also just lacks a lot of variety and for the price I expect a higher level of cuisine. Even the desserts taste like they came out of store bought pie. With that said, I haven't tried to wine area or the other restaurant inside. It is beautiful there though and the staff is extremely friendly.

My son planned this beautiful Mother's Day by taking me to dinner at Belhurst Castle and Winery in Geneva, NY. It was an hour drive and we had reservations at 5:30pm. We were seated promptly at 5:30, however, that would be the best of the experience. We sat at our table for over half an hour before anyone even approached us. We watch tables near us, that were seated at the same time and some afterwards, being serviced and meals being brought to tables. When our order was finally taken, the meal that I wanted was no longer available, it had sold out. So, we placed our orders around 6:14pm and we were not served until 7:14pm. After not getting the meal that I wanted, I ordered the salmon, and it was so raw that it was wet and cold. The server asked if I wanted something else, by this time I was disappointed, and we had an hour drive back home. Needless to say, I left Belhurst having had nothing to eat. I should also mention that we asked to see the manager, but no one ever came to address our concerns. This was an awful experience and I felt bad for my son because this was something that he had planned in hopes for a beautiful day. I have to say, that I've had better service at Applebee's, but the scenery was beautiful. Evelyn

The best part about Belhurst were the grounds, which were stunning. You can grab a quick flight inside, find what you like, and then grab a bottle "to-go" out to the benches over-looking the lake.

No bad! No horrible! No out of this world... is simple, good service, good wine and food. The only off is the fact that the restaurant doesn't connect with the wine tasting. Therefore, we were waiting to have the testing in the restaurant and we couldn't take the appetizer we ordered. The view is amazing and if you go there to have a wine or two. The outside are is very enjoyable.

Theres so much to say about my stop here this weekend. My girlfriend & I thought for starters, the grounds and the castle sitting on the lake was breathtaking, just visually the best thing in town. Our winery experience: busy when we arrived around 1pm. However we were served pretty quickly by this lovely girl named Macaira, who was an absolute delight. She handled the flow of people so well, & we even got to chat with her & get personal, again, a lovely girl. FYI: THE DRY ROSE IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THEIR INVENTORY, WE GOT 2 BOTTLES. I CANT WAIT TO GO BACK

The grounds are pretty, but not impressed with the wines. The atmosphere is a little bit too hoity toity for me. The area inside was really crowded and it didn't seem like the people giving tastings were too educated on the product.

Tasting room with super gorgeous views, but mostly I think it's a hotel? Well I liked most of the white wines; the reds were terrible. My picks are the chardonnay and the semi-sweet riesling, though most of my friends like the dry riesling. It's tasty too but I'm not huge on dry wines.

Lovely and historic spot on Lake Seneca. Beautiful setting on the Lake. Though we didn't stay here this trip, we have last year and it was fabulous. They offer a spa and gorgeous rooms. Comfortable club bar looks right out onto Lake. There is a pretty patio and, of course, the castle. Beautiful Victorian setting for breakfast, lunch or romantic dinner. They have their own wines and tasting room. Great spot.

This review is strictly on the wine tasting. The castle and views are beautiful, especially out the back overlooking Seneca Lake. Taste 5 wines for $5 and $2 return on any bottle of wine you buy. They also have a $10 tasting pairing cheese with the wine, same $2 return on a bottle purchased. The red wines are light due to the area the grapes are grown, but the white wines are very good, and the sparkling wine is worth revisiting.

Came by last night right before close and Sheila was phenomenal! So kind and patient with the three of us. The wine was great too!

This winery is located at the beautiful Belhurst Castle, so it's a must-try. They have tables in the back with a beautiful view of the lake. For the wine tasting, you can pick a flight of 5 wines for $5, very affordable. I enjoyed most of them. The carrie blush and the Merlot were the ones that stood out to me. They refund your tasting fee if you make a purchase. Overall, definitely another cool option for wine tasting in the Finger Lakes.

Understaffed for a weekend rush and then the server rushed us despite the fact we were often waiting for him. Gets by on location and view. Wines were okay but tastings overpriced and then ala carte pour of beer sample for $2 was ridiculously small.

Very nice place! We had our boat with us so it was great being able to visit that way and with friends that had never been there for Seneca lake wine tours. Their wines had great pairings to go along, and choices were many varieties so you really could not pass up a chance to find something for everyone there....we also enjoyed their fireworks display last night!

The Belhurst Castle is gorgeous! The Second Impact Organization recently held a benefit dinner for the Geneva, NY Fire Department at Belhurst Castle. There were approximately 200 people that attended. From the moment we arrived in the afternoon to set up raffle items until the end of the night when we packed things up, Carmen and her staff were remarkable! They were pleasant, professional and very accommodating; the meal was delicious. Thank you, Carmen for your organizational skills and to the Belhurst staff for making this night a huge success.

We drove up from Ithaca to take advantage of the last nice weather of the fall and to get a break from quarantining. After calling ahead to confirm outdoor seating and make a reservation (told not required), then arriving and before pulling the toddler out of her seat, sent my daughter inside to make sure there would be a table. She was told the patio was open and that the fire pit was going. We all head inside and are told quite curtly by the hostess that they only had indoor seating, why didn't we make a reservation, and she had no idea what we were talking about? Only 10 feet away stood the person at the front desk who had stated the opposite! Very frustrating and left me with such a bad taste that I will not be returning to the spa that I had hoped to visit once COVID is controlled. Mistakes happen, but no one owned this one or took any responsibility to even apologize. DON'T BOTHER COMING HERE. We wound up at Fry Bird just 7 minutes away and enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Stunning venue for dinner drinks or a wedding. They did a marvelous job on the food and the drinks. Great location. Wonderful rooms. The lake it's just magnificent. Lots to do in the area.

We had Sunday brunch on our first visit and it was a wonderful experience. The castle is a beautiful place to have a meal and then take a nice stroll, and the service staff was attentive so we didn't want for anything while we ate. (Shoutout to Jeanette who explained everything perfectly and was impeccably timed throughout our entire meal). The food was delicious- we especially loved the kale caesar salad and the omelette station. Save room for dessert because on top of it all, there's a chocolate fountain! And my mimosa was tasty, too.

ATTENTION BRIDES-TO-BE!!! If you are looking for a wedding venue, do not choose the Belhurst! My husband and I were notified 3 DAYS before our wedding that they "double booked" our wedding date and that we would not be able to have our wedding there OR we could move the date. A complete nightmare.. to say the absolute least! This is after a rebooking due to COVID, countless confirmations and an IN-PERSON meeting with the events coordinator, Carmen, 4 weeks prior, who ensured us "everything was fine" and "there is nothing to worry about". During the planning process, Carmen was very hard to contact, and would not return emails or phone calls in a timely matter. Please save yourself a heartache, and look elsewhere!

My husband and I booked our first extended weekend away from our 6 month old here. Let me just say, we got more sleep when we are home with our daughter. Beds are SO firm that after 4 hours of tossing and turning having taken multiple sleeping pills, we decided we would get more sleep after driving the hour home in the middle of the night. Now...we know we both have bad backs and this could happen. But we both brought our own pillows and sleeping pills. After triple my normal dose I was so uncomfortable i still couldn't sleep. Spoke with the manager the following morning and while he did release us from paying the second, unused night, he wouldn't do anything about the night where we drove an hour back home just to get some sleep. Customer service? Apparently over rated. Flat out refused to even comp part of the bill because they couldn't resell the room. Apparently they can't handle operating on 99% profit. Room itself was ok other than the bed. Pretty spacious, excellent view. Jacuzzi in the room was enormous but the TV was a bit small for how far away it was. Room also had no circulation and the bed is right next to the wall AC unit. So it's frigid next to the wall and uncomfortably warm anywhere else. Views from the room and grounds were excellent. Literally right on the lake. This is about all I'd say the place has going for it. Then again I wasn't there long enough to explore anything so there could have been more and I just didn't see it. Next time we visit Geneva we will find somewhere else, with better reviews and more competent management, to stay at. I suggest you do too.

we had reservations for a bachelorette party. Due to traffic conditions, our Limo bus was a little late. They called as we were pulling in and advised us we were 8 minutes late. When we were set up at our station, our pourer - Mandy was very rude and rushed us way beyond the point of ANY professionalism. When the manager came to check on us she was just as RUDE! Will never visit again. As an event pkanner I will never recommend this venue for anything

We enjoyed our visit immensely (stayed in the West Room). It was quiet, and we met other couples while out on the porch enjoying some wine. Check in as at Belhurst Castle. There is no staff on site - which isn't a bad thing and there isn't a restaurant on site. We definitely would come back here. (This review was 5 stars) We stayed here again (in the Music room). Although the room is cute just beware that when you're in this room you'll hear the people walking above you and you'll hear their tv. You'll also hear everything that happens in the room next to you...and I mean everything. You'll also hear the people on the porch outside and you'll also hear the people enjoying themselves in the sitting area in the comfy seats provided along with the fireplace. I was tempted to take a pillow downstairs (the jacuzzi/bathroom area) to sleep just to get away from it all but it's freezing down there. (This room gets 3 stars)

Stayed at the Manor bc the castle was booked. Paid 200 bucks for a room with a broken shower head, no remote for the TV, and a fireplace that was on the fritz. No Bueno on a night that was clocking sub zero temps. Thank goodness the jacuzzi tub worked This place needs to be majorly updated to justify the pricing. I can stay for cheaper at the newish Hampton Inn and it has a pool and jacuzzi, housekeeping on premise & doesn't feel like The Shining

Our highly anticipated romantic getaway started with a series of hiccups that has us embarrassed to be guests. No soaps were in the bath room and minimal towels. The shower curtain hung in a careless manner. Sheets had holes; we were delivered a "replacement" sheet. My husband and I got into an argument over how to put the sheet on. And we've not even been here two hours. We've contacted the front desk twice. Too embarrassed to call a third time. And too difficult to talk things through with my husband because the way the room is kept cold is with a noisy window air-conditioning unit. We are laughing ourselves to sleep and will pick a better place next time we come to NY Finger Lakes.

Went to the winery this past weekend and they got us in-5 of us tasting wine no reservation on a very busy weekend-I was impressed. We had very cheerful and funny wine pourer that helped us out. Always enjoy this place!
