This place is a hidden gem. A great place where we had a Mexican authentic dinner. The dining room is nicely decorated with art craft and plants. The service is excellent and prices are reseanable. I recommend this restaurant to anyone

As a person born in Chiapas, I can say I am truly satisfied with the food quality and flavor. Prices are around 200 - 500 pesos depending on the order (not too expensive in my opinion). Very recommended.

Google
🙌🏼Absolutely delicious. Organic, fresh ingredients, traditional recipes with a healthy twist. We had the tamales, caldo tlapeño, arrachera plate, chile en nogatas, natural mint ice cream and xocolat + Mezcal cocktails with fresh juice. Everything was super flavorful. Friendly service. Highly recommend.

I'm vegan + Medical Medium + gluten-free and mostly fat-free and corn-free. BELIL SABORES DE CHIAPAS serves traditional Mexican dishes. Gluten-free is marked on the menu, and the staff is aware of ingredients containing gluten. I had a stuffed chili in tomato sauce, it was corn free, vegan and gluten-free, and very tasty. The best guacamole we have tastes our 3 weeks in Mexico, with a hint of lime. Very delicious My family all had great meat dishes too. We highly recommend this place.

We had a lovely New Years dinner. The owner and team went above and beyond. The food was exquisite and interesting. The dinner had a set menu. They planned a surprise and brought in dancers towards the end of midnight. Highly recommend it! Would come back any time.

Great food and drinks with an amazing ambiance! We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at this restaurant, and I highly recommend the dinner. The owner is very friendly and provides a warm welcome.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant. The ambiance and decor was exquisite. The server was attentive and helpful. The meal was the best one we had while visiting San Cris! All the food tasted like it was carefully and healthily prepared. And so colorful! Wow! Vegan and Vegetarian options galore!

Yelp
So yummy and great atmosphere. The owners are so sweet and service is A+! Love ordering any of their dishes with mole! They are amazing! Especially their enchiladas!

Yelp
Best food with a great variety and a dedicated pRt of the menu to Chiapaneca cuisine. Great chipilin tamales cooked wrapped in plantain leaves. Best enmoladas and a drink made with Posh and Jamaica. And best pan de elite with rum. Great soups. Service and the music selected mostly great classic Mexican songs from Mexican composers a like Agustin Lara. Part of the menu you might find words from the Tzotzil one of the main Mayan dialects and the server actually speaks the dialect. The owner took his time to explain to us some of the dishes and he did offered to even prepare anything else we wanted. The restaurant is close to the Center of San Cristóbal and you can not beat the price for that quality of service and that unique and authentic food.

Yelp
This place has delicious food! If you're traveling through San Cristóbal, you'll want to stop and eat here. When you arrive you're greeted by someone who explains the type of food you're about to eat. Overall, the experience was great. Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Vibe: 10/10

Yelp

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. We went for breakfast and I had the cazuela de huevos.. the owner came out and took our order personally. The aguas frescas were delish!! Definitely gotta try this spot if you're in San Cristóbal

Yelp
Ate here twice while in San Christobal de las Casas because it was so good.. The staff's enthusiasm for the regional cuisine is contagious. Tried another restaurant specializing in Chiapas cuisine which was more expensive but not nearly as good The tasting menu was excellent and a good deal too. Returned for a bowl of the Crema de Chaplin. i highly recommend this place

Yelp
Our whole experience was amazing from the moment we walked in till we left. Service was A++ , server recommended great options and was helpful with our baby. Prices were very good for the high quality food. We loved being able to taste local Chiapas food vs traditional Mexican dishes . The environment is calm and relaxing with good music and beautiful organic feeling decor . If we had more time here I would go back probably every day !!

Yelp
The perfect place to taste the local food. A very open and relaxed atmosphere, just comfortable. The service was excellent. The food was wonderful, local tastes, the sopa de chipilin was memorable and excellent. We had the tamale chiapeneco, very different and wonderful taste and perfect, and chile relleno. All the food was good, presentation very nice. Ricardo, the owner, chef and chief worker, was very cordial, answered our questions, told us about the food, and shared shots of pox with us. It really was good, worth going to. My espresso cortado was perfect and the bill very reasonable.

Yelp
In a word, outstanding. The service is fantastic, and the waiter took time to explain the menu de gustacion and answered all of our questions. Some of the menu is in English too, for us gringos. The pictures show the chipilin soup, which tastes similar to spinach and was hearty and delicious. For main courses (pictured) we had mole enchiladas; the mole was described as traditional to the region and is sweeter and far less spicy than Oaxacan mole- it was excellent and allowed the savory flavor to come through. Our other main was fish with tomato and slivered red onion wrapped in a leaf, and was delicious. Both are pictured. Including an order of guacamole and bottle of cab/Malbec blend wine from Mexico, total was around $45 including tip. Other than the food, decor was clean and inviting and the bathrooms were on par with what would be expected in the us (if you travel in Mexico that's not silly to mention. Location is one block off the "main" street, real de Guadalupe, so it it easy to get to. Highly recommended for dinner, and I would expect their breakfast, which we were told about but can't try because it's our last day, would be equally impressive. Go.

Yelp
Best chicken mole- lovely delicious food, nice atmosphere. They had local crafts on display

Helene L.

Yelp
Excellent soups, the sopa de pan which is a San Cristobal specialty was amazing. The setting is a bit too modern, a little cold.

Yelp
Great place to eat. Food is delicious and authentic to the region. Ricardo is knowledgeable of the region and traditions. Nice and clean everything there was very helpful with any questions we had. I took my mom for a event called "comidas de Chiapas consentido social" she loved it and so did I. Highly recommend.

Merrill M.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere. Tasty and quality ingredients. We asked the waiter's suggestion for the best typical entrees. Would definitely return.

Yelp
Great traditional food! Warm host and he took the time to patiently explain the traditional food of Chiapas to me. I had the sopa de pan and pollo en mole, both of which were very tasty. Got a free shot of a local drink as well :) Highly recommended!

Yelp
Thanks to Yelp, we found this colorful and delicious restaurant in San Cristobal de Las Casas; friendly staff and attentive service!! We ordered the Pozol de Cacao, guacamole, chile relleno, and pollo en mole...delightful introduction to the Chiapaneco cuisine. Lots of vegetarian options and mezcal/wine is available as well as chocolate and coffee. Will definitely return before heading home.

Antonio V.

Yelp
Amazing experience that Ricardo and his staff offered. Appetizers like sopes de chorizo and tamales de chipilin were delicious. We were a large group and there was something for everyone! Pox tasting, mezcales artesanos, Mexican cervezas and a wonderful introduction via Ricardo's generosity to Chiapas, it's gastronomic uniqueness and cooperatives with original crafts and designs. Gracias Ricardo, Lorenzo and everyone who works there!

Yelp
Another gorgeous restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious for a fair price. Service was great. If I was local I would go here for a casual meal, nice date, or alone to read.

Yelp
Wonderful traditional Chiapas restaurant. We had a great meal during our visit. We tried the Sopa de Pan (a San Cristóbal speciality) it was seasoned just right, lots of vegetables, raisins, and the bread. Also had the Pollo en Mole, one of the best moles I have had in years, and I Love Mole! Owner was extremely friendly, and service was excellent. Prices very moderate, really great value. He supports native women's collectives in the sale in the restaurant of beautiful textiles and handicrafts. We came back the next day to pick up a couple of things; he had video statements from these artists, about their work. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great restaurant! Have local food from Chiapas, all locally sourced, the flavor and ingredients in everything is so fresh. Came back two days In a row for the tamales...:) they also have locally produced textiles, and GREAT service!

Valeria S.

Yelp
Really great locally sourced and traditional food. We got one of their soup and main dish combinations, the sopa de pan and mole. The sopa was very unique and extremely tasty and the mole was different than others and just as great. Then we got the the combo that had the crema de chipilin and changed the main dish to be a marinated pork. The sauce for the pork was excellent and we just loved the sopa - it was similar to a spinach cream soup but different. The tortillas and the crema that came along with the soup were both very fresh. The environment is also really cute, coza and overall acojedor. They have locally made crafts in shelves that are absolutely beautiful and fun to look at during the brief wait time. A definite recommend!

Nancy K.

Yelp
The owner/chef was so helpful walking us through the menu and recommended the chile relleno which was perfectly cooked and delicious. It is not a fancy place but very clean and delIghtful and it was evident that the food was carefully prepared.

Dave L.

Yelp
Found this place the last day of our stay in San Cristóbal, ironically only a block from our hotel. Proprietor (Ricardo) was warm and helpful. Breakfast was great, with regional specialties. The restaurant also features organic options, and they use locally-sourced food. As an added attraction, they display crafts, textiles and food such as coffee and chocolate from local cooperatives which are for sale separately. (FYI, cash is preferred for these purchases as payment is made directly to the supplier). It's a small, casual place, ideal for relaxing and hanging out and getting away from the bustle of Real de Guadelupe (and it's only a block away).

Aish S.

Yelp
Very homely, cozy, great ambiance with murals and mellow lighting. I ordered the cardomama selva con leche, platanos rellenos, sopa de pan, mole con pollo and cajeta. It was delicious. I will go back for Chile relleno and corn cake with rompope! This place is so underrated. The staff was very friendly, Roberto the host had some wonderful recommendations.

Alex H.

Yelp
Really outstanding place, a bit outside the center of town. Everything is local and very fresh. The host and the waiters were very friendly and made sure that we had a great time. If you're looking for authentic, local cuisine, this is a great choice. Especially for mole!

Michael S.

Yelp
We love place! The food and service are excellent. The space is filled with excdesign and well chosen pieces.
