"Visit the Belize Chocolate Company Jo and Chris Beaumont are expats from London who moved to Belize , to open a windsurfing and adventure sports business. They now own the Belize Chocolate Company, which produces the luxury chocolate line, Kakaw and numerous other cacao-based skincare, healthcare and cooking products. Their small shop on Barrier Reef Drive just steps from the beach in San Pedro seems like an expat’s dream. They certainly exhibit the kind of easy happiness that comes from providing a product everyone wants. The Belize Chocolate Company is a café and a store, so visitors can stop in and stay a while. When you do, make sure you seek out Jo or Chris. They are wonderful people, and their chocolate isn’t half bad either!"

Since I had a lite lunch in the neighborhood, it was time to walk to the Belize Chocolate Company. There are many items and drinks that are chocolate. In the back of the small store, there was a small chocolate making class that was in session. I tried two of their truffles with dark chocolate and they were heavenly. Then it was time to do some shopping to bring home. It had to be dark chocolate bars. Buy 3 and get one free. So I went with the #5 (87% Dark) and the Art Bar (70% Dark). The latter highlighting local Belizean artists. So a total of 8 bars to bring home. Both of these bars were exquisite, with a serious depth and range of cocoa taste. Clearly, in a unique chocolate class of its own.

I took a chocolate-making class here and it was so fun! They had already filled out the reservation for the day but we were leaving the following day and really wanted to do this so they fit us in. It was such a fun and unique experience for only $15/pp. We got to learn the entire process and tried the products along the way. Highly recommend if you’re in San Pedro.

Chocolate chip cookies are absolute worth dying for nothing like any chocolate chip cookie you’ve never had! delicious like natural chocolate undertones you have to experience! Also had the tea it was different and refreshing… my friend had a ice cappuccinos that every sip was “light”

A little chocolate oasis in the middle of San Pedro. There are free samples of dark, milk, and white chocolate. They also provided us with other samples as well. They offer a chocolate making class for the adventurous.

Such a cute class! 🫶🏽 Enjoyed every second of it! 5-6 min drive from The Alaia Hotel. Great 1 hour activity to do during the day.

The chocolate-making class was fun, interactive, and very informative. It covered the entire process from harvest to finished chocolate, with great explanations and tasty samples along the way. A wonderful experience I’d highly recommend!

“It was love at first bite!” Killer chocolate! Small little shop with great chocolate goodies! I go to this shop everyday to get some of their brownies. Delicious to say the least! They have a good amount of items that you can purchase at the store or online. They have really chocolaty cheese cakes that are superior to most any others that I can think of eating over the years. They have a good assortment of chocolates to choose from and cookies, too! Coffee drinks and chocolate shakes, also. They have a demonstration on how they made the first hot chocolate drink all those centuries ago! If you have the time, I’d recommend going to the presentation. I love this place. You can order their brownie mix and Hot Chocolate mix online and they will ship it to your doorstep. I highly recommend the chocolate company to everyone! Especially those who love chocolate!

CHOCOLATE CLASS- Small group ~8 people, explained history of Mayan use of cacao using high quality video, tastings of cocao shell, nibs, powder, butter, white/dark/milk chocolate. Lots of explanation and time for questions throughout. Session lasted about an hour which was enough and felt good value for money. COST- 15$, booked online in advance WHO WE'D RECOMMEND FOR- we are a British tourist couple aged 25-30, this activity would be great for any chocolate lovers, any ages and a good activity for families. OVERALL- Good experience, great value for money, enjoyed the tastings and learned a lot TOP TIP- Class is very popular and sells out, book ahead of time
