Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center

A gorgeous performing arts center without a doubt! I've never had a bad experience performance wise - with a few exceptions regarding security & staff that I'll get to below. I've seen a handful of shows here including Wicked, Hamilton, SIX, & Juliet, Hairspray, Mamma Mia, Into The Woods, Beetlejuice, Book of Mormon, etc. Always a spectacular production! The concession prices are reasonable, however it's definitely obnoxious that they won't accept cash, but will gladly take cash tips...(make it make sense). A negative experience that has rubbed me the wrong way on multiple occasion, is that some of the security staff & ushers can be incredibly condescending in their tone when speaking to you. There's really no reason for them to speak to anyone that way, especially when you're unaware that you're doing something wrong. There's been instances when the security & staff have spoken to me or those with me in a rude & hurtful tone. For example: temporarily standing in a wrong spot in the lobby...well, where is one supposed to stand when there's hundreds of guests entering and exiting, and waiting in ridiculously long lines to use the restroom during intermission and after the performance. I've also experienced uptight ushers taking things too far while trying to stop audience members with their phones out briefly during a performance. Literally sprinting down the aisles to sternly tell someone to put their phone away. I'm sorry, but full sprinting down the aisle is way more distracting than a light coming from a smart phone. On rare occasion, digital show programs (to look at on your phone) will be your only option, so again (make it make sense). Again, the facility itself is fantastic, but some of the customer service could be better, and some of the staff, ushers, and security should really take a kinder approach when speaking to guests. I've been to shows in NYC with more laid back staff!

My mother, 3 daughters, and I went to see Wicked. It was wonderful seats and a beautiful theater. My husband and I along with 2 of our friends went in the spring to see The Thorne!! Wow, oh wow.. it was amazing. I dont believe it matters where you sit the seats are awesome. The few steps you go down to get to the lower seats are easily accessible, but they also have a small elevator which holds 3 people or a wheelchair and 1 person comfortably. The parking is really close by, but it is a madhouse to get out. You need to know how to drive in back to back traffic.

Great venue for theatrical performances! Had a wonderful experience at the final stage performance of Wicked. Lots of excitement in the lobby, friendly staff (concessions, souvenirs, seating attendants). Remarkable, talented performers and orchestra. Stage sets were fantastic. Bravo!

Absolutely wonderful experience! The Nutcracker was magical — beautiful staging, stunning costumes, and such talented performers. The theater itself is comfortable, organized, and every seat has a great view. I had an amazing time and would love to come back for future performances!

Pleasant and helpful staff. The venue is nice and adequate. The sound was great as well.The show, the Grinch hit the spot. The cast and music was on point. I enjoyed the show very much.

We had a wonderful evening at the Belk Theater in Charlotte! My husband and I came to see Ain’t Too Proud to Beg and were blown away by the performance—the talent, music, and energy were unforgettable. The theater itself is beautiful, with comfortable seating and great acoustics. One thing we really appreciated was that drinks and snacks were allowed during the show—it made the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. From the friendly staff to the seamless entry process, everything ran smoothly. We can’t wait to come back for another performance!

Beautiful theater. Seating is spectacular even in the balcony. Acoustics are good. Rick at the box office was super helpful and generous to us, with 5 last minute tickets a few minutes before the show!!

I had the privilege of seeing‘Immediate Family’ last night at the Booth Theatre (1st time at this venue). I must say that I was entirely enthused with the performance as well as the atmosphere. It was an intimate setting and the acoustics and view were outstanding. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Thanks for the hospitality, you all do an awesome job with your duties and I love it.
