We had a fantastic day at Belknap Hot Springs. The hot springs pool was clean, relaxing, and the perfect temperature — not too hot, just right for a long soak. The entire property is beautifully maintained, with lush gardens, towering trees, and plenty of scenic spots to explore. We especially enjoyed strolling through the Secret Garden and along the river trail — it’s incredibly peaceful and picturesque. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. You can tell they take pride in the place and genuinely care about the guests' experience. It was a great escape from the hustle of daily life, and my wife and I both left feeling totally recharged. We’ll definitely be back, and next time we might stay overnight to enjoy more of what Belknap has to offer. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene and rejuvenating getaway in nature.

We stayed in room 11. It’s amazing view over looking the pool and river . The front desk girl at check in was extremely cold and didn’t not even look up at us to greet us. The second girl checked us in her name was Katie and she was extremely friendly , sweet , professional, made us feel welcome and make us want to come back! Katie keep smiling beautiful girl ! Belknap is lucky to have you! Martha was so sweet and she keeps the property looking so beautiful! Secret Garden is gorgeous. The pool was amazing felt so good met some really cool people . Sad the food truck was closed . We will definitely be back hope to get room 11 again!

I stayed with my partner in the lodge room #15 from Sunday to Tuesday. It was amazing. We were a bit worried because we saw so many bad reviews, but we ended up not experiencing any of those things. The staff we interacted with were lovely people and very helpful. The room was great and the hot springs were great too! We loved walking around and especially the (not really secret) secret garden😂 it was gorgeous. The only issue I had was that the living room in our room didn't have any lights. Only the window. But it's not the biggest deal. The room was overall lovely and clean. Anyway, I definitely recommend staying here. It's beautiful and the drive from Eugene/Springfield is so pretty too. We took a lot of polaroids while we were there. It was a bit of a pricey stay, but I think it's worth it and I'll be saving up for another stay at some point! Other information that could be useful: The kitchen does have dishes, silverware, and cooking stuff. There's also a toaster. I don't remember the room description saying anything other than "There's a kitchen" so we were unsure if we needed to bring our own dishes and such. The locker rooms have lockers for your stuff but you should bring your own lock because I'm not sure there are any. Bring your own soap for showering if you need more than a tiny bar of soap. The breakfast they serve is alright. Your standard hotel breakfast foods. But for other meals, bring your own food. They have a food truck thingy outside but it's all way overpriced.

The grounds of this establishment are beautiful and the care taken to ensure the wellness of the plants and landscaping shows through in every corner. The two hotspring pools are in great shape and my wife and I were fortunate enough to have it mostly to ourselves. In contrast to some of the negative prior reviews we found the staff to not only be pleasant, but extremely friendly and helpful. |Not only would I recommend the facility to others but my wife and I are scheduling our next trip here for the fall.

First off the grounds are absolutely lovely! The cabin we stayed at Camp Yale was clean and large. The only reason my rating went down is the kitchen. The Kitchen is an absolute disaster. First of all it needs serious renovating as the cabinets are falling apart. The "fully equipped kitchen" is anything but. Essential items were missing, pans were old teflon pans that were horrible scratched up with the base showing through. There were no dishrags or sponges provided for washing dishes - just an old dish brush. I was seriously upset that with $250 per night that better accommodations in the kitchen were not provided.

Fantastic place to visit with a lot of beauty. Ashlie at the front desk was super kind and accommodating and constantly went above and beyond to make our stay so amazing. She felt like good close family. The secret garden was awesome. I would love to see the fountain running in the middle and a good pressure washing all around that garden as it would look even more amazing but some people also like the mossy look for making it more secretive. It would help the flow of the water though. The hot pools were both wonderful too.

I’m writing this review as a PSA, a “know before you go” regarding the “walk in” campsites. They’re described on the website as “close to the gardens”. For the majority of the campsites that’s simply not true. I stayed in T17 and it’s still a pretty far walk from the gardens AND the bathroom/only water spigot on that side of the campground. On the day I checked in, my steps app said I’d walked 5.5 miles. All that walking was at the campground, and included 4-5 trips back and forth between my car/main part of campground and campsite, and a trip to get water and go to the bathroom. So you can do the math, but I estimate that from the bridge to T17 was about 1/2 mile, each way. The only bathroom and water spigot on that side of the campground is almost all the way back to the bridge, so I’d put that at about 1/3 mile from T17.||When I camped out there, there was only one other family. I could hear them, but couldn’t see them. The campsites are very dispersed and far away from each other. There are no lights out there and very little signage. Have your map with you at all times, or else you’ll really be in trouble. Making that walk by myself at night, a woman alone, was very scary. It’s the stuff Dateline Specials are made of. Also, carting your stuff up there is no piece of cake. You’re not carting your stuff over a straight, flat path. Especially depending on which route you take, its a rocky, windy path up and down hills, with lots of tree roots. ||Under certain circumstances the walk in sites may be perfect for some people (young healthy energetic folks, a group so you feel safe, etc) but I have two gripes: ||1. The website really should clarify how far away the farthest campsites are from… anything, including the lodge and only bathroom/water spigot on that side of the campground. Particularly with the lack of lighting and signage, in this day and age, it’s actually UNSAFE for their guests for them to not disclose that information. The information on the website is very generic for all the tent sites, making them appear somewhat similar. They’re not. There are a couple walk in sites really close to the bathroom. I MIGHT stay in one of those. But IMO the map online is deceiving. That is a LARGE area and most of the campsites are a LONG walk. I wouldn’t describe a lot of them as “walk in” sites, but rather “hike in” sites, especially with the rocky path that you need to haul your stuff over. ||2. The “walk in” sites are ridiculously overpriced. All tent sites - the drive in ones right in the main campground, and the walk in sites - are $40 per night, which would also lead one to believe they’re comparable, when they’re not. With the amount of work it is to haul all your stuff to the walk in site, the lack of amenities (water and bathroom REALLY far away), they should be $25 per night, at the most. Even if they put a couple of outhouses near the far campsites, it would be something. Run another waterline or two so there is closer access to water, THEN.. maybe.. they might be worth something close to $40 per night. But as it is, $40 per night is highway robbery. ||Speaking of the highway and crime… Another bonus… when you’re out there by yourself, with no lights, far away from anybody - you do get a lot of highway noise. It’s literally a true crime documentary waiting to happen. Close to the highway, could get in, do your deed, and get out - nobody would ever even see you. Yup pretty unpleasant to think about, but I feel morally compelled to warn people. Be careful staying in these sites - especially if you’re a woman alone!!!

The good: 1. The grounds are amazing! The flowers, the trails, the secret gardens, all incredible. 2. Camping cost includes soaking. 3. Location is lovely, right on the MacKenzie River and nice and quiet. The Mediocre: 3. The campground: we were in Van and did not require full RV hookups but had to pay for an RV spot. So… $45 a night and we did not use the water or electricity, no other options. What sucks: 4. The “natural” mineral springs were so heavily chlorinated , I had to shower and soap twice to get the chemical smell off my body. 5. The website says no children under 5, and there was a 1 1/2 year old in the pool. Bummer because we would love to bring our grandchild, but who knows if they enforce that rule or not? 6. The WiFi is ridiculous , password never works. So if you are traveling and work remotely you can not rely on their internet.

Yelp
I'm mainly writing this review as a PSA about the "walk in" campsites. The way it's described on the website - "walk-in, across from the lodge, close to the gardens" - is not accurate, IMO. They shouldn't be described as "walk-in" campsites, but rather "hike in" campsites, especially the ones that are furthest away from the lodge. I stayed on T17 and it is a LONG walk from the lodge AND the gardens AND the bathroom/the ONLY water spigot near the "walk in" campsites. Not only that, but there was only one other family out there when I was there. I could hear them, but couldn't see them, they were so far away. The campsites are VERY dispersed and it is VERY dark out there. On the day I checked in my steps app told me I'd walked 5.5 miles. I did no significant walking before checking in to my campsite. So that 5.5 miles was 4-5 trips from my car to my campsite - packing up my stuff took 2 trips, then I had to go to the bathroom and get water, which is almost all the way back to the bridge, and walking back to meet up with my other friends who were in the main part of the campground. I do a lot of walking in general so I'm used to knowing how far away something is. I'd estimate T17 is 1/2 mile from the bridge, and from the bathroom to T17 is about 1/3 mile. Try walking that in the pitch black, with nobody around, a woman alone - it's the stuff Dateline Specials are made of. Now I could see why the sites would appeal to people under certain circumstances. You do have a lot of privacy and there aren't a bunch of people around. But it should state clearly on the website that it is a LONG walk. When I think of a "walk in" campsite, I wasn't picturing 1/2 mile each way. And 1/3 of a mile to get to the bathroom. Also all the tent camping at Belknap is $40. $40 for the "walk in" sites is highway robbery. With how much work it is, and how far away the bathroom and water are, they should be $25, tops. Keep in mind too, you're not carting your stuff over a level, paved walkway. It's a gravely, winding walkway, with lots of rocks and tree roots. There isn't a ton of signage. If you don't have your map with you, Lord help you. I would probably return to Belknap, under certain circumstances. The grounds are beautiful. I wouldn't stay in the lodge. That is clearly outdated and not very well maintained. But if you have an RV, some of the RV sites are nice. And the drive up tent sites look nice as well. Just avoid the "walk in" campsite like the plague, unless you're 25, in amazing shape, don't watch any true crime TV and love paying way more for a campsite than you really should.

Yelp
Rented room 11 . People that rented the room above must have been an entire sports team and were stomping and making noise all night. Absolutely the hardest mattress causes your hips to hurt with no fitted sheet on the bed. Had room with a bathtub and by the looks of it, it hasn't seen maintenance in a very long time. The faucet was leaking heavily all night and the caulking looks like it's been molding since the 80s. During sunset, you couldn't even see out of the windows. You couldn't even close one of the windows all the way They haven't seen window cleaning in a very long time and the cobwebs inside the window gave the room a very dirty feeling. And the mini fridge does not cool well at all. The pool is very rundown and seems like the skimmer isn't working because it was filled with a lot of bugs. And there was a lot of trash around the pool from careless guests. The area and park itself is filled with natural beauty, but you can definitely tell the management/maintenance staff and groundKeeping staff are definitely not doing their jobs.

Yelp
Beautiful grounds, peaceful campsite. The lodge is a bit lackluster. Dated and empty feeling. Get a designer in there and make it fantastic. Would go back to camp but not to stay in the lodge.

Yelp
The pool is warm and such great views along with the therapy of the hot springs. I did not stay at the hotel but I came by twice while I visited my mom on the McKenzie. The girl that works at the front desk needs to smile more cause she is beautiful. Loved the float noodles but let tell the dam kids to share lol! This is a must visit if you have a chance. Definitely recommend cleaning and repairing the pool as parts of it are falling off!

Yelp
Called to ask for information about a stay while on trail as I needed a quick solution for a very tired hiker in our group. They didn't have any openings. Not a problem, but it was the way the woman on the call handled the conversation that makes me never want to stay there when they do have availability. Very terse, seemed put off by my call altogether and when I asked if we could camp anywhere else on the property and that I would pay, she abruptly to me a firm no, you cannot stay anywhere else on our property. I thought, OK, I'll just ask about other places close by thinking she would be happy to offer local advice. But no, she said she only knows an out lodging at the hot springs. On the flip side, I called the shuttle company that took us to the top of the trail and asked if she knew of anything nearby...not only did she have several recommendations, she called a campsite and asked the host to hold one for us. This is why I am rating the hot springs so low...they made no effort to extend themselves beyond the very bare minimum of what is expected. And trust me when I say, I would assume they would do the same for every other experience if I had stayed. No thanks, I'll pass and make sure to tell others about my experience as well to help them avoid the negative attitude and experience.

Yelp
This review is for the Belknap Hot Springs not the hotel itself. Overall great experience. The grounds are well maintained, parking is free, and there is space for a nice picnic by the river. Wonderful few hours walking around the grounds. Take time to visit the secret garden, and enjoy the beautiful views. Belknap offers both hotel accommodations and tent camping. Although for tent campers prepare to wheel your camping gear to your tent site as the sites are set back in the woods. Pro Tip: This location is pet friendly.

Yelp
We came here for a holiday weekend and had a great time. We brought our camper and stayed in their annex property called Camp Yale, which was fine. Large spaces, clean grounds and bathroom/shower facility, a tire swing and some trails. During our visit, we stopped by Belknap a couple times to see the gardens (beautiful) and soak in the hot springs-fed pool (loved it - almost as hot as a hot tub yet the size of a swimming pool). The location is also in close proximity to the McKenzie River trail, which was beautiful to hike. We'd definitely come back here again.

Mark M.

Yelp
Beautiful setting right next to the McKenzie River with moderate white water sounds adding to the ambiance. As others have said, don't expect a luxury hotel, it's pretty rustic. It has been about a year since we went there, but the WiFi is non existent in campground area and very poor even in the lodge. I have no idea why they don't do a simple and inexpensive upgrade. Probably the worst internet I have experienced. I know you are supposed to just enjoy nature, but it would be nice to have the option.

Yelp
Where do I start?! No recycling bins! Spider webs, missing/broken screens, infestation of ants, spiders in the shower, dirty, moldy and utter disrepair at Cabin 8. Why have a rustic cabin surrounded by a chain link fence? The river view from the cabin porch is through a chain link fence. The lady at the registration was rude and unfriendly. We seemed to be a bother to her because we had questions. There was no WiFi in the lodge as the website indicated. Breakfast was not for folx in cabins, although we paid over $300.00 to stay here too! The pool was full of bugs. Not a single umbrella at the pool area. There's zero tree canopy shade at the pool. It's too bad because this place could be so magical. But for now, it a dumpster fire with preety dahlias.

Kyle M.

Yelp
The worst! Our family had the unfortunate experience of renting a cabin at Belknap Hotsprings. The people managing and working at this establishment are in a time capsule. Terrible treatment of their customers. At one point the owner yelled at one of us for filling our water bottle at a sink. Open hostility by the staff & generally very dirty facilities. Just don't go to Belknap Hot Springs. There are better options for hot springs elsewhere.

Kate O.

Yelp
The hot springs pools are really nice. Good temps and good amount of space. The resort is pretty shabby. Furniture and decor is dated and not well kept. Breakfast was pretty lame. No fresh fruit at all and no oatmeal or cereal and only sugary juices to drink other than coffee. Guests could only get one towel per day for spa. One woman at the front desk was super rude and crabby every time we interacted over the 2 days. Grounds are nice and the area is gorgeous but the resort has lots of rules and doesn't feel very welcoming. The internet on site is almost non existent and doesn't work in the lodge rooms at all. They need a stronger router and/or boosters for the lodge.

Yelp
I love soaking in the mineral-rich water of natural and developed hot springs, and luckily the Pacific Northwest is home to a large number of these wonderful sites. I've visited Belknap several times, and experienced a variety of their accommodation types, but I'll keep this review based solely on what a day-tripper would experience as they visit the resort. Nestled along the pristine McKenzie River in the heart of Oregon, Belknap Hot Springs couldn't be situated in a more beautiful setting. The first thing that struck me was a strong sense of tranquility at the site. The wind blowing in the trees, the water tumbling over rocks in the river below... honestly, just thinking about it gives me chills. Hold on to that feeling when you try to find a parking space. Honestly, it's been a challenge finding a place to park every time I've visited the resort. It was only recently I discovered there's a second parking area up above, as well as a second pool. The rustic resort is charming much in the way your great aunt Edna's beach house might be. It's seen better days. There are musty odors, shingles are falling, there's lots of moss and algae... but none of it is significant enough to keep me from visiting. The resort features multiple pools, one at the main lodge and one above next to the overflow parking. Both pools are generally crowded. With lots of families visiting the resort, you'll generally have to fight a kid or two to find the perfect spot. But the water is relaxing and well-worth any struggles you might encounter. Just bring ear plugs and lose yourself as the water eases your aching muscles. There is a lot to discover on the property from water gardens, trails, fascinating old bridges, to beautiful landscaping. Check out Belknap for yourself, just don't set your expectations too high.

Yelp
Belknap used to be a special place. This is not the place it once was that you remember. I've given them a lot of my money and time over the past few couple decades probably over 50 times. Arrived there at 3:30 PM for the day after a long drive, walked the secret garden and walked around the property, went to the car to change and came to check in to the pool at 4:58 PM The lady up front said sorry no walk ins after 5. We told her it was just about to turn 5 and I drove an hour and a half and she repeated no walk ins after 5. She was just rude. Her clock literally said 4:58 lol. There were 2 people in the pool. I don't normally ever care about this kinda stuff, but this is a really bad look on your business. You can do better. Instead of being nice, front desk lady black hair choose to ruin days instead. Absolute 0 compassion. Drove a hour and A half to be told you can't go in. This place used to be fun. 2/10 stars and the 2 is because of the beautiful McKenzie river. Take your hard earned money somewhere else. You're better off at Cougar. 3/18/25

Yelp
This place sucks. Used to be nice. Found out I cant even use my cookstove here. The pool is filthy. How can it be legal to not clean this pkace up? Someone told me they got some kind of infection frim the pool. I can believe it. Cleanliness is not their aim whatsoever.

Yelp
After seeing so many negative reviews I felt compelled to leave one with my experience a week ago. This trip was a girls weekend getaway with my two best friends. We arrived on Friday night about 5pm. Check in was quick and the front desk explained everything about the stay, property, WiFi, breakfast, pool hours, tv, rules etc. here is the thing though... if you take the time to look at the website, you will know most of this coming in. I had never been here, yet knew what to expect coming in simply by doing a little research on my part ahead of time. The lobby area is very inviting. Lots of little sitting areas and I appreciated they have a little store with snacks and drinks. It is only open until 8:45ish so plan accordingly. Again, I knew coming in that we were not anywhere close to a huge store or even a place that would be open for business late, because I researched ahead of time, so we brought several things with us. The room we stayed in was a king with a separate queen in another room. This room, and I suspect all the rooms, are older both in decorations and facilities. Seriously no big deal because they were comfortable, clean and had everything we needed and we were there for the hot spring and the property. If you walk around downstairs and look at the photos you will see this place has been here for a long time. People coming in expecting five star accommodations are going to be disappointed and frankly, if it is not up to your standard bring your overpriced RV and hook up to the amenities and enjoy the pools or, just don't come. The lodge pool was the only one we used because it was convenient to go right back to the room. It is not huge but it is large enough, well lit, great temp and beautiful to soak in at night. It was a nice change to soak in a concrete pool vs natural floor hot spring. Way less mystery stuff in my suit. There were times it was busier than others but never felt so completely crowded you couldn't move around. The other pool was smaller and definitely seemed a little more crowded especially at night. Breakfast was great to have on site considering where you are in relation to options. It was not a knock you over wow meal but it was abundant. One hot item, either a microwaveable breakfast burrito or oatmeal, and three other items. You could choose from an egg, bagel or toast, yogurt, applesauce or a muffin. The coffee was great and honestly all we cared about in the morning. My only criticism is the set up in the breakfast room. They have the service area and the coffee, toaster and microwave in the same area so it causes a huge bottleneck of people trying to get their food, heat stuff up, toast things all in the same tiny space. It is exacerbated by this not being a self serve situation with the food. It would be easily solved by simply moving the toaster, microwave and coffee to another place in the breakfast room and maybe bringing in another microwave. It's ok though because we found a secret microwave for morning two and it was way better! There are also microwaves in the room so if you use some critical thinking, you can figure it out. Yes, they want to see your room key, yes they know how many in your room because breakfast is for lodge guests only. You can't blame them for having a way to verify you are a lodge guest people. I saw lots of complaints about the WiFi and the tv situation. Again....look at the website and come prepared. We had no issues with the WiFi and it actually worked in our room. My friend had a business meeting and was able to take it in a quiet area of the lobby with no issues. We actually loved that they have dvd selections for you to choose. Now that we know their selection, which isn't bad, we will plan ahead and bring some of our own next time too. Overall this stay was amazing and I would go back in a heartbeat. In fact we are already planning our next stay!

Laura K.

Yelp
Improvement is needed all over. The staff is not welcoming & even very rude to the customers they depend on. The facilities are extremely outdated & dirty. We will NEVER go there again.

Toni C.

Yelp
What a gem!! Don't come if you are expecting a pampered experience! This is an older hotel, but it is beautiful! The landscaping is fabulous and sitting by the river enjoying the water and the flowers is so relaxing! We played 18 holes at Tokatee and the pool soaking was very relaxing! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
The grounds are beautiful unfortunately the Lodge is filthy, outdated and in disrepair. Lack of ventilation throughout the Lodge was extremely unpleasant.

Joanne F.

Yelp
Although the grounds are well maintained and scenic, three things will keep me from going there again: 1. They don't tell you over the phone or on their website that the $10 per hour , ONE HOUR is ALL you're allowed for the whole day. 2. The public pool was full of rust. It was pretty disgusting, all the way to black stains. If i wanted that i could have just stayed home and took a bath bc our water filter system won't filter out all the rust from ancient pipelines. 3. The water was tepid warm, so where's the HOT springs?

John C.

Yelp
stayed for three days. place need a refresh and some better customer service or at least friendly ones. Upper pool restrooms unacceptable.

Krystie D.

Yelp
The springs themselves were excellen! We experienced a nasty front desk receptionist after greeting her very kindly as we came to check in. Literally caught us so off guard it ruined my whole day. There was need for it, we didn't walk in with a problem or a complaint, or even a request, just needed to check in and she was so very unkind. We came back through the lodge the following day and she was just as miserable to speak to. So sad ti see people travel to such a beautiful place and be greeted and treated the way she treated us, multiple times.

David A.

Yelp
Front desk manager, Kerri or Carrie is very rude to in-person and over the phone customers. She yells and speaks over customers. She uses a demeaning and condescending tone of voice. She needs some serious customer service training and needs to learn not to get on a pissy match with customers. Roof is looking old with lots of moss. This places needs up keeping and updates. Pools need some sanding or floor maintenance as well.

Yelp
Well, it's taken me a couple of weeks to write this. I was there, at Belknap Sunday Sept. 6th and Monday the 7th. The night of the fires. I had been fishing in the area on the upper-upper-McKenzie River. So I stayed at Belknap Sat. and Sun to be close to the river. We had a spectacular days fishing. Scenery was some of prettiest I've fished and that's saying a lot. Under-estimating at 50-fish days. After fishing, back at Belknap it was BBQ time and hot springs time. The place is clean. Lawns mowed. Lots and lots of colorful flowers. A Gardner's dream. They have a cool bridge that crosses the river. When I fished, we floated under this bridge. The bridge takes you across the river to the actual spring(s). I believe there are some hikes/trails on that side and a tent area and some cabins too. The actual hot "pool" is at the main building. It's a pool, but you can really feel the spring water. Hot and steamy. They also have a smaller less crowded pool on the upper part of the property. You need to make a reservation for that pool. Keeps the crowds down. Both pools could have used some attention and elbow grease. Certainly not bad or gross. But as example, upper pool had a large amount of leaves in the pool (both days). Lower pool tile is clean, but not new. The staff were always inundated but handled it well. Lots of smiles and great customer service. The lower RV spots are RIGHT ON THE RIVER. Upper RV are nice too. Lots of room. I actually had the last spot. They put me on lower level, but around the center park/bbq Area. A little awkward at first but ended up being nice. Had all services available to me. Here is where the 4-star+ RV resort earned a 5-star. It was Monday, my last day fishing after a fun long week in Oregon. A wind storm was supposed to come in and blow us out. Winds held down until the very end of the day. Fishing was crazy good again. But the winds...they were different this time. I was up until 1 am or so with the wind. Wicked wind. It felt like my RV was getting punched and kicked. There were fires now in Oregon, not just California. Lots of smoke last two days. It was getting very bad. I almost left in the middle of the night. Lots of folks had left earlier from the smoke. But the winds were so bad I didn't want to risk a tree falling on me. Low-and-behold, 2:35 am came the knock on the RV to evacuate. The Belknap folks were rousting they campers to get moving. Fires in the canyon. I was a bit freaked. Pitch dark. Had my RV set to and hooked up to services. When I asked where to go they yelled "go left". Wise choice. I was clear and on the road within 25 min. It turns out the fire was from a downed power line at the bridge where my guide and I took out earlier that day. We were only a short distance up river. Very lucky to have gotten out alive. Thank you to Belknap for remembering to roust MY RV :) I will return. Once the fires die down. Very clean. Great spring water baths. RV on the river.

Yelp
We stayed in one of the full hook-up RV sites. Grounds and endless gorgeous garden areas are stunning; views of the river and surrounding mountains are simply breathtaking. Staff was helpful and friendly. Hot springs themselves were well maintained and wonderful. 5-star experience all-around.

Yelp
We read some bad reviews. Sorry rich folk- we loved it here! Maybe if you're accustomed to exclusively Marriott hotels.. Room, hotel & grounds were clean. Staff was super nice, friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. The pool is fed from the hot springs and we believe the water also runs underneath the hotel, the tile floors were warm! Day visitors must exit the pool by 6pm, so it felt more "private" afterwards. The lodge is not huge and had a nice bed & breakfast vibe to it, we encountered the same guests often. *Wifi only works in the lobby. *Drinking water is well water, be bought a gallon prior. *Continental breakfast included. They have convenience foods/frozen burritos, Ramen cups, snacks available for purchase when the front desk is open. But no restaurant and nothing close by. The RV sites looked beautiful as well. We absolutely recommend and would return.

Yelp
I was a little afraid about my stay because of bad reviews but I'm glad I went ahead with my visit. The property is beautiful and I came home well rested. Room: My lodge room was clean and comfortable. It was basic. If you are looking for fancy, this isn't it. I'm pretty mellow and found the room to be more than acceptable. I had a lovely view of the river. Hot Springs: The upper pool is where I spent my time. It was a bit busy but not unbearably crowded like the lower pool. The water was nice and I like how the pools are large enough to move around and soothe my joints. The water does have chlorine and I wouldn't recommend this place to people sensitive to chlorine. I found the water to be acceptable and soothing. Food: The breakfast is basic and nothing to write home about but it was fine. The store in the lobby has some snacks but definitely bring your own food. There are a few restaurants within 10 miles. I didn't try any.

Yelp
What a disappointment. I have been coming here for the last 5 years and it has been a rustic charming place. Not this time. It has been about a year since my last visit and this will be my last visit. I have recommended this place to friends and acquaintances. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Go somewhere else. This was my daughter and my first girl's trip. (She is 3). She was so excited to go and wanted to swim. I showed her pictures and she couldn't wait. (This has always been a kid friendly place when I have been there. There are other hot springs nearby for adult crowds if that's what you're looking for). We arrived at 9:30pm after a 3 and a half hour drive in the pouring rain. I didn't realize the lobby and pool closed at 9, but was thankful an envelope was on the door with my name and instructions to get in. My daughter wanted to see the pool, so we looked at it and she was disappointed she couldn't swim, but we would first thing in the morning. Getting into the room.... It was at last 85-90 degrees in the room when we arrived. The heater was off. I couldn't figure out why it was so hot, but there was a portable AC and big fan in the room, so I turned those on and hoped for a cool down. There was no book with TV instructions and hotel contact/breakfast etc. Breakfast is for 1 hour from 7:45-8:45 and pool opens at 9. We went to breakfast and have never experienced such a strict breakfast experience. They wanted to see the room key and we were not allowed to touch anything and had a count on items. This was not gourmet either, it was Quaker oatmeal, a packet of applesauce or yogurt and a bagel or bland biscuits and gravy. After breakfast we went upstairs to get suited up for the pool, only to find out we were not allowed to swim. The two women at the front desk were miserable, angry people who did not have one ounce of hospitality or humanity. (There have always been kids and infants in the swimming area, the pool is not too hot for toddlers) I also noticed multiple screens behind the desk one lady was intently watching. I told her we were here for our trip and asked if she could please swim. Hard no! I asked if I could swim while she was on the chair, another HARD NO! My daughter was distraught. We came all this way (7 hours round trip) Spent $300 for a room to relax and swim when we weren't allowed to enjoy any of it. We went to nearby Deer Creek Hot Springs, a natural, free hot springs. When we came back and walked through the door, the miserable front desk woman by the cameras questioned us wanting to know why we were wet and where we were swimming to ensure we had not broken the rules and swam in their precious pool. My daughter was super upset and begging and crying to swim in the pool. They didn't care. We rented a movie and the TV didn't work. A guy came to fix it and my daughter begged to swim. He said they don't let his kids swim either and since we could t swim there, told us about Cougar Hot Springs and suggested I take her to an uncontrolled hot pool with multiple nude adults. Gee thanks. How about just let us swim in the pool we are paying for?! Not to mention it was a Saturday and the pool was FULL of kids, and definitely younger than 3. So my daughter sees all these kids, even younger than her, swimming and is even more upset. We sweated in bed for two nights (the AC and fan didn't even make a difference that's how hot it was), couldn't enjoy the pools, interrogated about being wet and a item count for breakfast (felt like mealtime at the state hospital when I worked there). Top it off, the rooms are dirty with a dank moldy smell, very outdated. I feel robbed. Definitely not coming back and will not recommend. Seems like they switched owners. We made the best of our trip by visiting local scenic views. Clear Lake is great! The area is gorgeous.

Yelp
So if you like rustic, dated and possible bugs in your room, then you'll be just fine here! I, however, do not like those things. I loved our room view, I loved walking the grounds and the pool felt great! But it started with the ant on the window sill, spider on the ceiling, lots of small flies congregated in a corner by the bed, something crawling across the floor at night. Room temp Doesn't get below 70 per the thermometer but ours was an almost uncomfortable 73, so I can't imagine on a hot day what temp it would get to. The bathroom floor was dirty in the corners, actually all corners were dirty. Thankfully we brought our own blankets because their blankets and bedding were old and stiff. The mattress SUCKED! Felt every spring and movement. WiFi available in the lobby but kind of almost makes it to your room. The young girl at the front desk, very sweet and helpful! The older lady, per the previous reviews, not so friendly but is fine. I asked her for 2 extra towels for the room and she asked how many people are in my room? Almost annoyed that we would need extra. I said 2 but we need some for our hair. So we followed her to where they are stored and they came out of a factory plastic bag. Yay! No one is at the front desk from basically 9pm to 9 am so if you need something between those hours, you're out of luck! Will I be back? No. But it is nice for a day trip! Definitely check out the secret garden and the path along the river by the campground

Yelp
The night clerk and kitchen staff were kind and effective. The day clerk reprimanded me for allowing my suitcase wheels to drop on the staircase. That was futile and hilarious. This is a self-service stay, not a resort. Perhaps they should provide bell service if they want visitors bags transported in a particular way. I basically ignored the BS with the rude woman who worked the morning I checked out. Our room was clean and we spent our time in the pool or in bed. The rest of the vacation was offsite and was pleasant. Had I relied on the resort as my sole entertainment form, I would have run into problems with the day clerk's personal style.

Yelp
I've stayed here before in one of the lodge rooms and it was beautiful. Hot springs are nice. Landscaping is majestic. Last fall I reserved a tent space for Father's Day Weekend this year. I was comfortable doing it based off the hot long summer we had last year and the year before. To my surprise this week, the forecast called for rain all weekend with a low of 45 degrees at night so I sent an email asking to cancel, stating I was not anticipating this kind of weather. Yes, I know Oregon.....but again, basing off the last two summers. I didn't receive a response, so I called the next day. They said their email was down and would cancel right then on the phone. The employee advised they'd have to charge me for one night due to short notice. I did say I wasn't expecting so much rain and she laughed. I received the cancelation by email before I even hung up the phone. I could understand if I had to pay the one night because they had a problem filling the empty space, but it was taken up right away so they are getting their money from another party. I tried reserving a space just for fun and they are fully booked so this charge doesn't seem fair. I could understand if there were administrative costs associated with canceling, but it seemed to be a click of a button because not only did I receive the email before we hung up, butt my card was charged right away. It's too bad they provide this kind of service.

Yelp
I expected this to be a very run down and poorly maintained facility; however, it turned out to be the best stay on my Portland/Seattle road trip from SF. This place has a beautiful garden and relaxing hot spring pool surrounded by nature. The cabin where I stayed is very spacious and has three huge king size beds. The kitchen has all the amenities you need to cook. Room is very clean. My only complaint about this place is the hvac system. It cannot be adjusted and the temperature is set at 63 degrees which is very cold for us. Also, there's no WiFi outside of the lobby area. No cell phone reception either. Front desk is only available from 9am to 9pm, so don't expect any service outside of these hours. People are in general very friendly and not rude like what other helpers were saying. Maybe the rude one got fired? Free breakfast is only for people staying at the lodge, which doesn't make too much sense to me. I did snatch a cup of coffee before learning that and the coffee was good. Overall, I had a great stay and will definitely come back for a longer stay.

Yelp
We had been planning our "girl's weekend" trip for over a year so we were looking forward to relaxing in the mineral pool and just resetting our minds. The grounds were beautiful they have done a lot of work on them since our last visit. The food truck addition was great too. Rooms are ok, but the soaking in the pool experience left a lot to be desired. The pool was over half kids. Jumping diving, wearing flippers and googles, splashing people even though the pool states it is not a swimming pool. So for a relaxing spot this may not be the place to do it. They need pool hours for children or a separate pool for kids and relaxing time for adults.

Yelp
I want to start this off by saying the Belknap Hot Springs grounds is one of the most beautifully maintained and spectacular facilities I have ever been to. The grounds are vast and manicured JUST enough for comfort while giving a sense of the wild and extraordinary nature of the preserve. The Secret Garden, once found, is a feast for the senses. Everywhere I turned there was a picture to be taken, a scent to be inhaled, a texture to be touched! Our check in was smooth and the front desk manager very nice and thorough! We stayed in the Lodge, but there are camping and RV hookup options available as well, which looked like a good alternative. The campsites were lovely, and the hookups were clean, all placed along or in proximity to the gorgeous McKenzie River. Our room....well, we got the last room available when making the last minute reservation, so beggars can't be choosers... Lodge Room 2. It was quite clean! The bed needs replacing badly (very soft and wobbly on its frame) but the sheets were crisp and felt nice. The pillows were good. The bathroom had a spa tub, which was in need of replacing, (as well, it seemed unfinished in its installation) and was slippery upon entry and I did in fact slip and scuff my knee so be careful! But who needs that when there is a soaking pool outside? Would have been better served with a stand up shower and a higher nozzle. There is no cable and limited WiFi as stated on their website so no disappointment there (although we WERE able to connect to the WiFI in our room which is close to the lobby, so ended up streaming some Ted Lasso!)... There are TV's with a hookup to a DVD player and they offer MANY movies to rent for $2.00. Unfortunately for us, we did rent a movie, but the hookup wasn't working and it was after lobby hours so nothing to be done. They did reimburse that fee the next day. And finally, the only light sources were an overhead in the corner and two canned lights over the fireplace which were both on the same light switch and they put out about 1000 watts of light, so a bedside table with a lamp would have been nice (or maybe just 25 watt bulbs). But really, I didn't go for the room. Clean was enough. So far as the spring and pool, I would have loved my own tub, but the pool was clean and warm and the water clearly from the spring just across the river (which is well marked DO NOT TOUCH as it is 180 degrees coming out of the ground!), and I had plenty of space to stretch out and float. I floated and played in the pool 3 times in my short stay and each time was wonderful. There were other people but they stayed to themselves and it was never overcrowded. I didn't go to the upper pool, which in hindsight I really wish I had, but I will go back someday to do that. It was lovely and felt more private. I was happy enough with the food truck on premises. The operators were lovely, the food good. I wish there had been more food options available onsite, but we knew this would be the case so brought some snacks and foodstuffs. The fridge and microwave in the room were clean and very usable. The Lodge did serve a large and varied continental breakfast, which included many different types of bagels, muffins, yogurt, fruit, juices, and with some hot options (I had biscuit and gravy, but they offered egg and sausage burrito's). The coffee was good! But you only get an hour, so be sure to be up by 7:45 because it ends at 8:45. AND, the food available a few miles away was great, went to Obsidian at McKenzie Bridge the next day and it was a great experience. So Overall, I say, Heck yes. Amazing place and loved the springs. Don't go for luxury, go for the environment.

Yelp
Nasty. Kerri said she saw these photos I posted already and said there was nothing wrong with them. Asked twice for clean sheets since there were brown stains on them, which Kerri claims is a lie. Called me the b word over the phone and hung up in a huff

Yelp
The only thing that is good about this place is the hotsprings. Both pools are refreshing. The lower pool is kept up pretty well. The upper pool is just trashed, loose rocks around the pool. For the amount you pay up keep should be possible. A lot of the fountains are broke so the water is just stale. The front counter workers are just plain rude and don't want you to be there.

Yelp
The main "hot spring" is basically a heated pool that was crammed to capacity (not sure if there is a limit) in late March. In the water I stepped on what felt like a hypodermic needle, but it was actually a piece of broken tile. They're gonna close the pool for one week to fix such things, but for now there are random pieces that will cut your feet. The front desk team was very nice. Cost for the hot spring during the off season was $8 for one hour or $15 for the whole day, but not sure how they would check the hourlies. The biggest disappointment is the lack of food. There's a tiny store that stocks frozen burritos and bad for you snacks. It looks like there's an outside snack bar that's open in the summer. There are no lockers in the locker room so everyone brings there bags, clothes, etc. out to the pool. There's four or five nozzles in an open shower, but no soap so bring your own. Per lots of Yelp reviews cleanliness doesn't seem to be a priority so I definitely recommend wearing sandals in the locker room. Parking is tough, but there are two overflow lots not too far away. It is what it is. I prefer a rustic hot spring with even less amenities or a higher-end one like Bonneville Hot Springs.

Yelp
Let me start by saying my husband and I have been to Belknap many times. I wrote a review that was VERY critical of the from desk staff. My review is Under user name Heidi Smith. As you will see actual name is Ellie Voorhies. Go to the Terrible reviews Its the first one and it has the wrong date it was 2021. The reason I am posting this is because we HAVE BEEN BANED FROM STAYING AT THE PROPERTY!!! SO I was Wondering how many other people that gave a negative review have been banned ! Instead of addressing me when I wrote the review 1 year and half ago. They never reached out to me. I made reservations for this week and found out . I am going to duo some Research and fined out if this is even legal. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT HERE IS MY Email SIDMONSTER71@GMAIL.COM OR POST ON THIS SIGHT. THANK YOU, Ellie VOORHIES I

Yelp
Do Not Stay Here. Front Desk Lady is the rudest person I have ever dealt with. I tried being extra nice, figured she may have been having a bad day but nope. This place needs a good management over haul. She makes up her own rules and is just RUDE. Read other reviews about her, I am not the only one out there. Is she Racist? Yeah probably but she does not deserve to work as anykind of service person. The maintenance people are good just the front desk lady is horrible. If only the water was all mineral hot springs but they are just clorinated hot swimming pools which makes it that less special. Save your money and go spend it else where.

Yelp
See the pictures for where to experience living in an amazing * hole for just $175 Dirt, dust, spider web all around you. Be careful, staff there would bark at you easily. Stay safe on the icy bridge because nobody will tell you this until you fall. Last but not least, allergy might be your surprising souvenir for you wonderful trip! #Stay safe #Hotel: Too big to fall

Yelp
Wow, so incredibly rude on the phone just now in trying to make a reservation for a Monday night. I am told that I'm unable to stay with having a Four Wheel Camper pop up camper on the back of my truck, as I either have to "plug in" for an RV site or physically have a tent on the ground. I explained multiple times that I was looking for a drive up tent site but that my camper is fully self contained and the lady on the phone told me either one of those options is mandatory. I even joked about whether or not I should bring a dummy tent to put out on the ground next to my truck and she responded rudely about how that was unacceptable and that I cannot sleep in my vehicle. You've got to be kidding me, Belknap? I'm looking to be a polite, responsible patron of your establishment and I'm greeted with rudeness? If anyone at Belknap actually cares to call and discuss this with me, please feel free to reach out. Otherwise, good riddance...

Yelp
I've never been so poorly treated by a person in the hospitality industry. Keri hung up on me after talking down to me, talking over me telling me I misread their website when I in fact did not and that it was not her problem. The website claims them provide internet in the lobby, this was important to me and my partner for our work, quote from belknap website:"Our WIFI Service is limited to lobby area only.". Wifi was not available anywhere. Keri is the woman in charge of hospitality, a person rude, frantic, and demeaning in her speech. The room was clean, good job to the cleaning staff they hire. The breakfast was an absolute joke, I was interrogated by the staff for me key to get a bagel and most generic packaged oatmeal/sugar muffin/applesauce/cranberry juice. The charge for this room was $188 for one night. No explanation, no apologies, Keri ignored my email completely, I had to call her and track her down through the company, for her to talk down to me and hang up the phone. I was polite and wanted at the least an explanation or conversation, as a business owner, when I do not provide what I promise, I do not charge the same, this is what feels humane and common sensical to me. Not the case with Keri. She is a business woman with no regard for the experience of their guests. A true shame they "own" such an incredible piece of the earth's natural wonder. All the best to you Keri in your cutthroat profiteering from oregon's beautiful land.

Yelp
Follow up--we did return and stayed in Room 3 over the 4th of July weekend. Loved every minute of it and slept like a rock listening to the river. An unexpected and exceptionally-timed visit to our room by a errant bat required the prompt and expert services of hotel on-call staff. They responded within minutes and gently returned our visitor outdoors. Their good humor, kindness (to us and the bat), and competent response inspired my confidence that my R&R was in good hands. Genuine adventure and interaction with nature. We reserved Room 3 again for next year!

Yelp
Lovely setting, but the front desk staff person I interacted with was unbelievably rude. It's actually laughable. Maybe she needs a hug?? A person such as this should not be working in customer service....she needs to go.

Yelp
This poor little Hot Springs Lodge has so much potential in the right hands. It is under funded with capital of dollars, it lacks someone with a keen eye to the details. It has two key elements that are underutilized, and under supported, that being the secret garden, and the Hot Springs itself. Very poor Wi-Fi to non-existent and air-conditioning in the third floor rooms consist of a fan and an open window. As you can see by the photos, carpets need cleaning, cobwebs need to be knocked down, windows need cleaning, and in the breakfast area, someone has a liking to grizzly Bears, and has adorned the area with many photos of them, though there are no longer grizzly bears in the lower 48 states. Simple organization of the retail spaces is severely lacking. So much odd signage most of it with a negative connotation saying NO one way or another. Kari Anderson you can do better for our industry. Roll up your sleeves team, and take pride in showing up. The ownership which apparently is two brothers in the logging business nearby, may need someone to assist with a long term plan. It is a gem in rough, rough condition.

Yelp
Just a one-nighter on a weeknight, but I enjoyed it very much. My room overlooked the hot pool and the roaring river. I soaked in the pool for a while and then had wine and cheese in my room (which I brought) for dinner. Then I went out for a very pleasant walk around the grounds along the river and took in the historical photographs displayed downstairs. The room was clean and I slept well. Coffee was available early. Breakfast was continental style, mostly carbs, but fairly generous. I was a little disappointed when the kitchen staff lady told me they didn't have the hot breakfast options listed on the whiteboard. I guess the lack of food options was what compelled me to cut one of the stars. They have a nice commercial kitchen. Don't know why they don't prepare food. The closest restaurant is 9 miles away. Since I had been driving all day, I didn't want to get back in the car. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Had no problems like other people mentioned.

Yelp
Love love love this place. Hot springs felt great. RV spots were clean and spaced out perfectly. Thanks to the manager and staff for being just so awesome and making my family never want to leave here. Only one complaint...to many disrespectful foreigners. The Russian community needs to understand that they don't own the Resort when they come in with a caravan of people/RVs. They are loud, rude and they need to follow the resorts rules and policies ‍

Yelp
Made a reservation at Belknap for the end of my backpacking trip and was really looking forward to it. My backpacking trip was a bit derailed due to tent pole issues and rain. Went to the front desk to ask for some help since my tent wouldn't be functioning for my camping reservation. The lady working at the front desk never said hello, I waited until she seemed available and she rudely asked what I needed. I explained my situation and she curtly explained that car camping is not allowed and said I have no other option but to pay the cancellation fee. I asked if there was any other option and she said no. I then asked if I could still use the hot springs, since I was really looking forward to them especially facing troubles as a solo female traveler, and she said I would have to pay an extra $10 to stay one hour since I "am not camping". It was a very strange experience and maybe she was just having an off day, or maybe she treats all clientele who are not white this way. I have no way of knowing but I do not recommend Belknap. This experience almost ruined my trip but I had a sweet friend recommend Terwilliger Hot Springs and this is the cleansing nature hot springs experience I was craving. If you want crowds, rude service, and extra fees knock yourself out. But if you just want to soak in some natural hot springs, definitely drive a little further.
