This is a lovely, comfortable and friendly hotel in a great location. We can highly recommend!|First of all, though, a warning for anyone who cannot manage stairs. This hotel is of an age and doesn't have any lifts. Its stairs also wind slightly, so carrying luggage could be a problem for some, and the dining room is at the basement level, so you would need to negotiate at least some stairs every day!|The positives, however, are many.|The bed in our room was extremely comfortable, the room was very clean and, although not spacious, was perfectly acceptable with lots of hanging space and drawers for clothes. |The food was excellent, was beautifully presented and, we thought, offered plenty of choice. There was usually a choice of a meat dish, fish dish or vegetarian dish for the evening main meal. The starters were varied and there was also a great selection of delicious puddings or a cheese board for dessert. We were on a deal which included bed and breakfast and evening meal (no evening meal on a Wednesday as that is the chef's well deserved night off!) Hot breakfasts were very good and cooked fresh to order. No dried up scrambled egg here :) I now need to go on a diet!|The very best of this hotel, though, has to be awarded to the staff. I would be hard pressed to pick a favourite as they were all truly wonderful. So I will just name them here and take this opportunity to thank them for helping us have such a brilliant holiday:-|Daniel, the General Manager |Ben, the Head of all things Food and Drink Related|Lee, Harrison and Nid who all looked after us with patience and a smile (a special thank you has to go to Harrison for his recommendation of the strawberry ripple and gin cheesecake!)|Apologies to anybody whose name I missed - including the chef - we never saw him as he was always slaving away in the kitchen, but I have to thank him so much for feeding us so well!|Thank you all very much and we hope to come back as soon as we are able!

What a lovely hotel! Location, facilities and staff all first-class. It has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I travelled with a group and we were treated royally. Food is excellent, fresh and the menu (including dietary preferences) is varied. Bedroom and communal rooms clean and tidy.

Long going extinct remain the family -owned and run and staff hotels of yesteryear. GM Daniel interacts with guests, sits at the desk, and meets his guest with genuine concern and is caring and a wonderful contribution to the hospitality industry worldwide.. ||*High Points: the family-run feel; the beautifully and comfortably appointed room I had facing the main street and the sea; the beautiful traditional brass keys; the males in the breakfast room serving with politeness; windows open easily for fresh air; shower and bathroom are huge||*Low Points: n/a||*Unique Points: the served and plated breakfast in addition to some self-serve items, all included; an indoor pool; excellent location; caring Jill who found me a room even when Booking and TA said the hotel had no space; PG tips and ample milks in the room; a basket for shoes; lovely bed linens||I always wondered each morning what would happened if the males in the morning had an updated uniform of simple cream nice short sleeve button-down shirts and cream slacks & shoes to match the hotel decor starting from the outside; would this lighten up the mood from its mere comfort and island-like feel? The bowties and jackets are very dignified but much more posh than the more fun and happy breakfast room it could be. I understand it's a tradition and most guests are repeat traditional guests, but my opinion is that a lighter feel would update the overall breakfast room feel. ||Special Mention: Ben helped me in after 9 without a key as he was working anyway; Ben told me all about his favorite parts of the different islands and shared many special stories with me. He takes pride in his job and has the perfect attitude for the entrepreneur that he is.

This hotel is in a fabulous location, I shared a family room with my parents who both have mobility issues but nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Ben and Lee were both friendly during meal times and Lee gave us some great suggestions for visiting the other islands. The food choices were varied, well cooked and always piping hot. We had a very enjoyable stay at the Bell Rock.
