Google
Early morning walk lasted about 3 hours. Amazing views all around near the top. Fantastic hike I would definitely recommend.

Jin Sung R.

Google
We visited on the Friday after Thanksgiving, and it seemed to be an extremely popular place. There were three parking areas nearby, but none of them had available spaces due to the large number of visitors. The National Park Pass was accepted here as well. The trail starts off easy, but you need to use your hands when climbing the boulders. It may be a bit risky for young children because of their height, and elderly visitors should also use caution. Although it gets somewhat steep, it is manageable for most people. Coming down is actually a bit more difficult than going up.

David C.

Google
Stunning area overall, but truly magnificent at sunrise. Clearly marked trails and several options to choose from. There isn't a lot of shade on the trail, so bring hats and water!

Rtexal T.

Google
A short walk in a beautiful red rocks landscape (though probably not the best one in Sedona!). Hike up a little higher other than the base path and be blessed with sweeping views of the area.

Edres B.

Google
Just came back we really enjoyed it majestic view and it gives you a sense of calm and peace. Couldn’t make the hike because of knee injury but next time will do

Jason O.

Google
Breathtaking vistas, a calmness that is hard to describe. If you have any appreciation for geological features… This is a must see.

Adrienne H.

Google
It was beautiful! Peaceful and serene. I highly recommend buying your park ticket ahead of time. Also, get up early to go visit these places. Parking fills up quickly.

Alper Y.

Google
Great hike but park in north parking if you intent to climb. The climb was good. Surprisingly at the top I felt tingling effect in my feet and legs. After coming down my wife told me about vortex at bell rock. I don’t believe these but I felt something, kind of interesting.

Yelp
(Explored 05/22/25 TH @ 8:00am): Well hell... that rock looked like a bell! To beat the crowds and hot weather, I made my way to famed Bell Rock for the first time in over twenty years. Located within the Coconino National Forest, a butte just north of the Village of Oak Creek south of Sedona in Yavapai County with an elevation at its summit of 4,919 feet, it's just west of the Courthouse Butte, another famed local landmark. Both were very popular for their panoramic views, while Bell Rock was a well-known vortex site believed to be a source of powerful uplifting energy considered a "masculine" or upflow vortex associated with active dynamic empowering energy. Did I rock my bell and get a sense of energy with this morning hike!? EXPERIENCE Definitely a tourist destination for numerous reasons, I started off on the initial trailhead Bell Rock Pathway (approx. 3.6 miles - good for hikers and mountain bikers) https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=wlkOB7kt-Sa4adVwIGhcJg from the parking lot, but I eventually just wandered almost aimlessly onto other marked trails, non-marked trails, and possibly out-of-bounds areas to the point I thought I might've crossed state lines - LOL! I casually took in the sights and allowed myself just to be free, listened to my breathing, and cleared my mind as much as possible as I snapped a myriad of photos along the way. I scaled as much as I could of Bell Rock https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=Zvwo8w29_vNIDY3GUsjcnw and Courthouse Butte https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=kYR_mNWu_Du8HD7nQq9m6A for some awe-inspiring views. Here were some other trail options, dogs were allowed if on a leash, and some were accessible for wheelchair users: ~Bell Rock Loop Trail: A 1.0-1.5 mile loop trail offering views of Bell Rock and the surrounding areas. ~Big Park Loop Trails: A network of various trails. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=AXsmC0a3l2gd5thCovgh6Q ~Baby Bell, Llama, and Bail Trail: A trail that is part of the Big Park loop. ~Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock Loop: A loop trail that combines hiking up Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. PURCHASE Red Rock Daily Pass ($5.00): Because this was part of a national park, a pass was necessary. If you had an existing monthly or annual national parks pass, you could use that. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=rzZ6ktuqfQLr2iUf8GB5-g SERVICE There was none to speak of. However, the surroundings were absolutely clean, and the various trails were visibly marked - 'nuff said. PARKING (Varied; $5.00 this instance) I easily found a spot in a sizable lot at the Bell Rock Pathway trailhead. Otherwise, there was a convenient complimentary shuttle you caught from a nearby church (please tip the driver at least a buck or two) as well as minimal spots along the main drag of State Rte. 179 - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A wide-open space completely exposed to the elements with dry desert foliage everywhere, red rock masses, and breathtaking views as far as the eye can see depending on your vantage point. Be prepared and have proper footwear, sun protection, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Although I didn't see any animals, bugs, or insects, my ankles must've brushed up against something because I had an isolated rash, so be mindful of your surroundings. Obviously, there was plenty of natural light since you were outdoors. The only TV or music would've came from your cell phone. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=QrgdxTkHaCg8eGM2LR40Nw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt and boardshorts, but I was in more appropriate hiking boots instead of my favored flip-flops. OVERALL I had a contemplative and relaxing time exploring Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte, and their surroundings and would gladly do it again. The day wasn't crowded at all, I was able to move about at my own leisure and pace, and the weather was relatively nice albeit hot and got hotter as the morning went on. I somehow managed to spend nearly four hours at this site. I found complete value based on the service and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $5.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Yelp
This was a great hike! There was ample parking at the trailhead. It is about 1.5 miles on a relatively flat path to reach the rock. Then the fun begins! There are several ways to go up the rock, and some parts are quite challenging. My son made it to the end of the trail, but the views were spectacular from where I was as well. The climb requires some scrambling and some steep, but smooth areas where it's hard to gain purchase. My advice would be to enjoy the climb and go as far as you feel safe. The views are great the whole time!

Yelp
Having hiked AZ- Phoenix to Grand Canyon-this was by far my number one! An incredible visit- the views were absolutely stunning. The hike was spaced out- an easy trail to the base of the mountain, stunning views of notable Red Rock formations- but the adventurous extra hike beyond, bouldering up the cliffside to the top of the mountain...oof Admittedly, the adventurous was terrifying- the bouldering was a side of the mountain scramble, and something hit me where my legs were shaking- but I made it to the top and it was worth it! Uplifting gorgeous views standing on the top of the 'vortex'- the most energizing, breathtaking "i did it" ambiance we experienced-

Yelp
Awesome hiking trail, located in Yavapai County, just south of Sedona. The butte rock formations are massive and majestic. There is a more difficult route to navigate that leads to the summit at about 5,000 miles above ground. I passed on that and took the marked trail. The reddish hues of the surrounding area during the morning hours creates a beautiful view. Close to route 179, find a parking spot and go for it.

Yelp
Sooo much fun. This was a really good trail for all experience levels and ages and the view was phenomenal. The signs are pretty easy to follow. Only negative was the parking filled up really quick. We ended up parking at the yavapai vista and walked about 10 minutes over.

Yelp
Beautiful formation and great place to visit. We visited this beauty during out trip to Phoenix for couple of hours drive. It was totally worth it. We made a stop at the Bell Rock Pathway trailhead parking lot and got a beautiful view of this formation. Lot of visitors on a Sunday morning in November. Great city and we thoroughly enjoyed the place and short visit. We got to spend more time on next visit.

Yelp
My friend and I explored the short one mile hike to Bell Rock while visiting Sedona. It was raining nearby, but thankfully it never hit us on the trail. There was a nice wide path, but watch out for the rocks. We learned to walk to the far right or left of the path when the rocks got thicker. We found a nice wooden bench close to the base of Bell Rock under a big tree and sat down to rest and take in the gorgeous scenery. For the parking lot, you must pay $5 at the machine and place the receipt on your dashboard. Tip, the ticket is valid in several Sedona parking lots where you can get onto trails. We used the same ticket at three different locations in one day. There's a restroom kind of like an outhouse with no sink. Be sure to bring hand sanitizer;) And enjoy exploring nature!

Yelp
Stunning views, relatively large parking lot and easy-to-moderate trails - which is probably why it was completely PACKED on our Saturday late afternoon visit in mid-June. OK, on a summer weekend, I guess the crowds make sense, so, shame on me. But hordes of instagrammers and clueless folk on trail and up on the rocks made for a somewhat chaotic scene that took away from the majesty of it all. If you're looking for serenity you won't find it here unless it's 6am on a weekday. Lesson learned.
google avatar

Catrina C.

Yelp
Easy to find parking here and the trail is super simple to follow. You can make it as long as you'd like or as short. Beautiful view in any direction. I'd definitely recommend this hike to anyone as a must see in Sedona.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful and soul rejuvenating. I get now why they say there is special energy in places like this. There TRULY is. I felt so refreshed, energized and recentered after hiking this beautiful landscape. I think of it often. There are trail maps and portions for every ability level in age. There were children, grandparents, middle age, people of all ages and physical conditions. You can stay with the group or find spots where you're all alone with nothing but yourself, the wind, the scenery, and these huge rug formations that literally look like they are painted by the hand of God. We don't have anything like this in HTx I have to say. There is a fee for parking, but after a certain time of the day, I want to say it was free. Parking is on the honor system. Now the parking does remind me of Houston, because it's hard to come by. This is a must if you're in the area. #bucketlist

Yelp
Second time on Bell Rock in two years and this time I climbed up as much as I could to one of the spires. It was difficult at parts but so rewarding. Let's start with the parking. There are two parking areas, one north of the area and one south. We had no luck in either, so we went hunting for a spot in the nearby neighborhood. Let's just say there are very rare spots. If you park at either of the official lots, make sure you have the appropriate permits. We went around both the Bell Rock and the Courthouse. Constantly surrounded by amazing views! Then most of the group tried to climb Bell Rock as long as possible. So much fun. Yes, it's one of the more popular hikes but there's so much space to spread out that it doesn't "feel" as crowded as some others. It was a 5 star hike but that parking issue...

Yelp
Bell Rock is a beautiful well-known symbol of Sedona, and we enjoyed our time there! Having already done a difficult climb that morning, we stopped at Bell Rock early evening, parking was a breeze. We climbed up part way, there's lots of nice ledges at the beginning, I do look forward to climbing to the top. We opted to do the hike around Bell Rock, on the path used by lots of bikers, and enjoyed this immensely. Why? You really get to see the flora and fauna of the desert landscape on this hike. We were hoping for Javelina! The hike around took us between Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte and the huge stone field from fallen rocks from Courthouse was impressive and felt like another world. Bell Rock is supposedly a vortex with good female energy, but however you enjoy it, it's not to be missed.

Yelp
Bell Rock isn't hard to miss and is one of the first buttes you see when entering into Sedona from the Village of Oak Creek. It's called Bell Rock because this rock formation resembles a massive bell. It has an elevation of over 4,900 feet. Even though it is super popular with tourists, I like it because you can access it easier than some of the other hikes in Sedona. To the east of Bell Rock is another large butte - Courthouse Butte. There are parking lots with restrooms to the north and to the south of Bell Rock. Both fill up very quickly during the middle of the day. To the south, you can access Big Park Loop and Courthouse Butte Loop trails. To the north is Bell Rock Trail (you can also access it at the south lot). You have the options to hike around both Bell Rock and Courthouse Buttes or climb up Bell Rock from these trails. Bell Rock is layered and it is easy to hike up to the halfway point. You get great panoramic views of Sedona from the second layer of Bell Rock. When driving by Bell Rock on Highway 179, look closely and you will sometimes see hikers near the upper portion of the butte. Bell Rock is a popular spot for meditation and is known for its strong vortex energy. Most feel the strongest energy is located on Bell Rock's north slope.

Yelp
Bell Rock climb was an amazing experience and one that I will never forget! I only wish I could have captured it just as it looks in person. This rock formation cannot be missed when driving along the scenic route, because it looks so massive! I honestly didn't think I'd make it near the top on foot after hearing different reviews, but I was proud that I did. Especially with my son. We arrived here around 9am on a Monday, and luckily there was a spot waiting for us. The parking lot is very limited on spaces, so plan to get here early! Reason for my 4 stars. I was kind of worried about being able to conquer Bell Rock climb due to the warm weather, but I took my time, stayed hydrated and took breaks whenever I came across shady areas. I cannot suggest enough to bring plenty of water! Throughout the climb, me and my son kind of veered off the path and found some really cool hidden spots that we had to ourselves. So be sure to explore a little off the beaten path. It's not so far that you'd get lost either. There was a beautiful red rock wall that kept us cool, and it had great photo ops! There will be some scrambling that you'll have to do to climb up each level towards bell rock mountain, but if you're fit and workout, then it shouldn't be a problem. We even seen Senior Citizens climb levels, so based on your health you should be ok! I loved seeing all the rock formations throughout the trail and the best part was the views of Sedona! There's nothing like it once you've climbed high enough. I tried tapping into the vortex, but I don't think I gave myself enough time to experience it. My son said he felt an energy of some sorts though. Overall, I'm so happy and proud that we conquered Bell Rock climb! Every time we drove past it we were amazed that we actually accomplished such a thing. 4500 ft. Elevation was the highest for me!

Yelp
There are two parking/trail entrances you can take to get to Bell Rock, the Bell Rock lot which is a little longer of a hike to get around, or the Courthouse lot which is about a half mile trail before you get to Bell Rock where you can pretty much freestyle your way as high up as you want to go. Our first day in town we got here around 7pm with an hour to spare before sunset in the summer time. It was still around 90° but the heat wasn't too bad. The surrounding rocks further in the distance make for great photos especially around the time of day when the sun if further west. During our visit there was also a full moon so we came back around 11pm and got some pretty good photos of the scenery thanks to the moon light above. If you're in the Red Rocks state park and don't want to do any of the 3 plus mile hike because they're too long or it's too hot, this is one of the better options. Even though Bell Rock is a short hike from the Courthouse lot there is a good amount of scrambling and climbing to get up the rocks so make sure you have some trail or hiking boots with good grip. As far as parking goes the lots are fairly small, and require a parking pass which you can purchase at the kiosk $5 for a day pass, or $15 for a week pass that's good at all the Red Rock state park lots

Yelp
While I didn't get to stay here long, the view alone is worth a visit. This was a location on tour, but it was literally a very short pitstop. Our tour guide let us get out of the van, stretch our legs, and check out this glorious view. There is plenty of parking, some port-a-potties (but if those aren't your thing, there is a gas station very close to this location, which had an actual bathroom), and lots of tourists. I will say that the location backdrop looked fake. I know it's not, but it was just so pretty, and it's striking the view behind you/in front of you, with these rusty looking peaks, a bright blue sky, and white clouds, just make for a beautiful backdrop. If you can hang out for a bit and take in the spectacular views, do it, I would have (if our pitstop had allowed it). It's clearly a heavenly view that makes you feel like one with the earth.

Yelp
Loved this hike. We had to do a few laps in the parking lot to find a spot but once we did we passed a man at the trail head selling shirts. I told him I was looking for the Bell Rock Vortex. He told me 'he who feels it knows it' and pointed to the top of the statuesque bell. We climbed up the back as high as we could and sat in silence appreciating the beautiful view and my son found a rock and dropped it and there was a very hollow sound. It was very odd. Around the area was dense but we were on a hollow spot and we imagined soaking in the vortex energy and had a blast climbing down and we were off to find the Subway Cave Vortex... and that... was magical.

Yelp
Great views.Make your distance for your own comfort. Recommend a cooling towel. I would have enjoyed hiking poles as well. Trails are maintained. Bathroom at trail head.Amazing fun!!
google avatar

Judy S.

Yelp
Great hike - fantastic view to effort ratio! There's two parking areas - so be sure to check the other lot if one of them is full. There is a parking fee. The hike itself is pretty flat and easy and incredibly rejuvenating. Great views, lots of dogs on the trail (leashed).
google avatar

Gordon V.

Yelp
Nice parking area with a few trail options. First I did the bell and this is very short and easy unless you want to go up to the top which in my opinion is not safe. There are great views right at the base of the bell but many people climbed up the slippery slope to get to a higher view point. I saw one person get on one of the stacks at the top of the bell. Highly do not recommend that. Live another day be safe.
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this trail and how beautiful each sign was guiding the way. 4 stars simply because as you near the mid section of bell rock there is some confusion on which way to go or if the climb continues. We ended up turning around because we couldn't find the path and it was also icy/had snow. The rock itself is beautiful and the path leading up to the halfway point was very well kept. The people on the trail were incredibly friendly.
google avatar

MaDonna W.

Yelp
This is another recommendation. Bell rock is amazing. It's next to the courthouse rock... you can kind of get both in in one day. If you start early, we went up to Bell rock at 8:30 in the morning it was gorgeous not that many people but it does get crowded. There is a vortex just right of the area for which you walk up to the bell rock and it's pretty strong.... This one is a little bit more advanced so be prepared. I broke a nail dammit!!!
google avatar

Cristina X.

Yelp
Quick and rewarding hike. Totaling 0.8miles from parking lot. The first 0.3 miles is very well marked. However you don't need to get all the way up to enjoy the amazing view of surrounding rocks and mountains. Highly recommend !! Need to get a pass (day or week) online for parking.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Another fun visit on the way to many other national parks ie Sedona. There was an overcast and the air was crisp after the rain and could smell the desert. Cool stop and would do it again when in the area.
google avatar

Rose S.

Yelp
This is a beautiful spot to hike to in Sedona. You get beautiful views of the surrounding area, and the hike going up isn't too bad, but it's got some steep areas. Parking is $5 for a day pass which can be used in certain spots in Sedona. Parking here can get crowded but lots of people come and go so if you wait a few minutes you can usually get a spot. January was the perfect time to come. It was a beautiful 60 degrees and sunny. We did see snow coming down from flagstaff, but the snow melted when we got to Sedona.
google avatar

George U.

Yelp
What a terrific area of Sedona with trails and so many beautiful sights to see. Off of hwy 179 and near courthouse rock the bell rock is another of God's wonders.
google avatar

Greeshma R.

Yelp
Bell rock is one of our favorite spots to stop when we are in Sedona. This picturesque mountain is worth the hike. Carry enough water and a good hiking shoe. The parking is limited, so better to get there early or wait for someone to leave. It gets pretty hot in summer, but spring and fall are perfect for this location. U can find many people hiking this place and totally recommended for a family hike. If u haven't visited, this place is worth it.

Linda R.

Yelp
Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte hike is perhaps one of the prettiest and easiest hikes in Sedona. Hubby and I started at the Bell Rock Trailhead with parking that requires a Red Rock pass. Bell Rock Trail turns off to the Rector Connector that takes you in the valley in between Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. This three mile loop is easy and offers stunning views of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte.
google avatar

Scarlett E.

Yelp
Such a fun trail. Super easy if you have kids, dogs, older couple like us lol. So many spots to get some great photos. Very nice overcast day. The hike was about a mile and a half and they have plenty parking depending on the season. A bike path as well. We took water and some snacks to eat by the creek bed. Great family hike!
google avatar

Katy Z.

Yelp
I stopped by Bell Rock as one of the first of many locations I wanted to see while visiting Sedona. The parking lot was packed when we arrived and we had to wait a good amount in order to find a spot. This location seemed to be a very popular as I saw multiple Brides/Grooms in their white gowns and tux here shooting their wedding photos here. There were trails that went up the Bell Rock, but due to all the people around, we opted to just do a small walk around. Of the areas we did walk, it was quite pretty. It was a nice location don't get me wrong, but a bit too packed for my liking.

Yelp
We hiked around at Bell Rock for about an hour or so and the temps were pretty warm! We'd been up early and already done a couple of other short hikes so in all honesty, I think the heat was beginning to get to me. I didn't feel my best at a certain point I wondered is this vortex stuff legit?? Because I'd like to think my energetic vibration is typically pretty darn high and I just did not feel well here. I'm sure it was the heat beginning to get to me as I love being in the sun but I don't love wearing a lot of clothes/layers so perhaps it was a bit too much sun exposure between the high Phoenix temps and the warm Sedona sun. Had this been our first little hike of the day in lower temps I think I may have done better. I had plenty of water but some strange headache came on. I'd thought I read that Bell Rock was a masculine energy vortex so that can explain it right there! Not too fond of men if I'm being honest ;) Anyways, this is a cool hike - like everything we came upon in Sedona it's short but requires climbing so do come prepared if you want to get a bit of a ways up. We paid to park in the parking lot, which I was very happy to make our way back to. I'd say do this hike in the early morning when temps aren't too warm as it's an entirely exposed trail.

Yelp
I have been out to Bell Rock a couple of times. If you want to be there when there are less people--go early. It is early May, we got up at 4:45 AM, I know, in someway a bummer (at least if you prefer staying up late and sleeping in). When we got there, there were hardly any people in the parking lot--yay team!!! I was wearing long pants, and a jacket--instead of shorts--because it was in the 60s when we got there. I was so excited about taking photos with the morning light that I started out without my partner (we usually stick together). The advantage was that I explored the areas that I wanted to explore. The possibile disadvantage was that I was by myself and if I had a problem then I was by myself. But no problems... I ended up following the Llama Trail. There were lots of Juniper trees and while I was on this path, I didn't see anyone else (early morning advantage). This is a perfect path for mountain biking. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Remember to bring water.

Yelp
If you're coming into Sedona from the South like I was, this is a perfect "first stop" before you enter the downtown area. There is a scenic view of Bell Rock (and Courthouse Butte) right off the side of the road where you can pull over with a pretty decent parking lot. I had heard the hike is actually moderately challenging up Bell Rock, so my family and I decided not to attempt this one given that there are so many great hiking options in Sedona and we wanted to save our energy for one 'big' hike (we ended up doing the Devil's Bridge hike, which was so worth it - check out my review on that if interested!) and we only had 2 days here to do things. For my family and I, this scenic pullover was more than worth it! We got great pictures of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte, and it was a fun way to start identifying some of the many rock formations in and around Sedona so that we could track them throughout the remainder of our trip whenever we were at another scenic vista!

Yelp
I was completely captivated by Sedona. Our last hike we were craving something easier so we went to check out some of the loop trails in this area. We ended up doing Bell Rock Pathway to Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte, Bell Rock Loop, Big Park to Bell Rock Pathway Loop, Bell Rock Pathway via Bell Rock Access Trail. Thanks AllTrails for letting me know all of that. We just saw the area had several loops and the outside loop was about ~4miles and went that way. Once we were hiking we decided to take some extra trails and ended up doing about 5-6miles. There are a few maps near trail crossings so you can change up your adventure (or make sure you're still heading where you wanted to be. The trails we explored were flat compared to a lot of the other hikes we had been doing in Sedona. The desert vegetation was wild. We didn't see many other people on a Saturday afternoon. We stopped and sat for awhile without anyone passing by. once we got to the Co- especially on the Courthouse Butte sides of the trail. Parking is $5 and if you just want to check out Bell Rock I'd imagine you'd need to just be able to walk about a mile. It's easy to get there if hiking isn't your thing and you just want a closer look at this vortex. At night when we got in the car we heard coyotes in the direction we were hiking in. I'd suggest leaving once it gets dark! The trails around Bell Rock definitely impacted me - if I return to Sedona I'm likely to return to this spot to check out some of the trails I didn't explore. It's magical here.

Yelp
Hiked on 5/7 & other trails during a Phoenix & Sedona trip & posted a vlog! Search "Nikko Gandia Travels Sedona" on YouTub3. DIY trail, you can go as high as you want. Superb views of the valley. Get the 7 day Red Rock Parking Pass at the machine if you're doing a multi-day Sedona trip, most trails require it.

Yelp
Awful parking as always anywhere in Sedona. People are so ignorant parking wherever they want, with no repercussions.
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
I have not climbed bell itself, but it is literally one of the first landmarks you see driving into Sedona. One of the vortex zones in Sedona. A beautiful formation to just admire or hike. Lots of areas to explore and plenty of parking!

Yelp
Bell Rock features one of the four VORTEXES in Sedona Arizona. What is a Vortex you ask? "A vortex or vortexes are areas of concentrated energy rising from the earth. Some believe that the vortexes are a portal for celestial and terrestrial spirits; you may feel a range of sensations from a slight tingling on exposed skin, to a vibration emanating from the ground when you encounter a vortex. Most often a vortex is felt by palpable sensation across the nape of the neck and the shoulder blades. Many people believe that Sedona has several vortexes or power spots, making Sedona a highly sought-after spiritual and metaphysical destination" - sedona.net Whatever you choose to believe, Sedona is undoubtedly good for the soul. The Bell Rock Loop Trail is approx. 1.8 miles round trip or you can hike directly to the top at 1.2 miles round trip. We only visited the first 200 feet or so of the trail, but hope to hike to the top on our next visit. We were very short on time considering Sedona was a side trip to our Vegas vacation. This means we also missed the opportunity to experience the vortex, but we did manage to visit the one at Airport Mesa. Can't say that I felt anything abnormal or unusual, but that's really not saying much because Sedona as a whole gives me the tinglies something awful! Love this place, and love Bell Rock! It is one of the easier formations to distinguish as it looks exactly as it's name implies. If you do happen to make it here and find yourself at the vortex feeling a spiritual power-up... be sure to message me after writing your review. Would love to read about it! 2022 / 16

Yelp
This was a great hike with family. We chose to walk the pathway as it was our first Sedona hike and did not want to climb anything too intense. It's best if the hike is completed before 9am because of intense heat during summer. This was a wonderful entry into Sedona hiking. Beautiful views all the way around.

Yelp
What a site to see, even if you do not hike it. We were running out of day light before we could get to Bell but I wanted to see it anyways. Great views off the 179 freeway. There are many pull offs on the freeway to get pictures of the formation. Worth a drive by even if you cannot hike it.

Yelp
Bell Rock in Sedona is one of my favorite natural places to visit and hike. There is so much natural beauty here and views are amazing. Bell Rock has many interesting features and colors to enjoy including its bell shape and other numerous formations on its slopes. With a little imagination, one can see all sorts of interesting shapes on Bell Rock including face profiles, guardians, and various bird heads. The natural energy here is amazing and I really enjoy hiking around and about. There are many different bike and hiking trails of various lengths to select, mostly depending on how much or how little you want to hike/bike. On my late January visit, the weather was cold and windy but the air is so fresh and nature is all around. There is a reasonable fee for parking but it it well worth it. Bell Rock is biking friendly and there is a bike stand post with some tools at the entrance for any last minute adjustments or fixes. There are hiking trail markers all over the park, public restrooms in the parking lot, and site maps to get your bearing. There are no food or drink vending machines so bringing water and snacks is preferred.

Yelp
Probably Sedona's most famous attractions! One of the first trailheads coming into the area where it's known to have an energy vortex. This is my second time hiking Bell Rock and it didn't disappoint! This time I wanted to capture a sunrise. Mission accomplished! The vortex? Is it real? I believe it to be. While there I found a peace that I cannot get anywhere-even the beach which is my go to for Zen. The trailhead is easy. Getting up on the rock could be a challenge for some. To get to the actual vortex area there is a climb but fully attainable. Come to Bell Rock! Be open to the possibilities!

Yelp
Otherworldly beauty. That actually sums up many of the stops in Sedona. Take in the beautiful colors and sights of the area. The terracotta colored rocks make the sky seem bluer and the ground cover seem greener. Bell Rock is a popular spot for hiking. The summit is a little over 4,900 ft. Make sure to bring plenty of water. Parking lot was packed. Not only were all the spots taken, but the few spots that could be turned into a parking spot were. That was true for many of the turnoffs we pulled into, during our weekday visit.

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful scenery. There are bike &walking trails here. We did both but on foot. You can see a lot more on the bike trails vs walking trails. Sedona was one of our favorite stops on our road trip across America. We are TheRovingVets on youtube if you want to see longer videos & more pictures. Such a phenomenal place to see!

Yelp
Hearing so much about Sedona's outdoor stuffs to do, areas to relax by the water, we just had to check it out! * The drive to Sedona from Flagstaff was short and scenic. Seeing all the Ponderosa pine trees and red rocks alltogether is another level. We already planned a couple of places to visit with short hiking trails. Apparently, there's over 400 hiking trails in Sedona, and we didn't plan to do all that. We were not in the mood to hike but weren't in the mood not to either ! We decided to drive to Courthouse Vista, a popular trailhead hub with red rock views. From there we can already see the Courthouse Butte up close but we went climbing up Bell Rock to get a perfect view of the whole Sedona. It did not disappoint! We didn't have to hike all the way up, just turn around and it's right there! Breathtaking, peaceful and we were speechless! We stayed for a few hours and took it all in. * "Thankful for days when my body takes me to places like this. My heart is so grateful every time nature takes my breath away. I can't imagine life not seeing beautiful destinations." * For more outdoor adventures, follow @Bodintures

Yelp
If you're not looking to hike but want some great photos, make a left at the trail intersection towards the Courthouse Viewpoint. It's only 0.2 miles and you get great views of both Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. It's not completely flat, but a pretty easy stroll over some rocks. Everyone's doing the hike, so this short little gem of a trail is pretty much empty. No way around it but parking in this small lot sucks. You just kind of have to hover and stalk people who look like they're leaving.

Yelp
Beautiful hiking area among the red rocks. Pictures can't do it justice for how pretty this location is. We love visiting Sedona.
