Staying in the Bella Coola/Hagensborg area for a week, our needs were fairly basic but perfectly met - kitchenette and fridge (so we didn’t have to eat out every meal), full bathroom, comfortable bed (neither a slab or a marshmallow!), TV.||First tip: when booking your stay, be sure to tell them what you want. Some rooms have smaller fridges and kitchen areas, some have microwaves (ours didn’t but there was a communal one for use if we wanted), so make your preferences known.||The highway location was what we wanted. We’re used to traffic noise at home but honestly can’t say we noticed anything excessive - in a week, we never had to wait to pull onto the road and saw maybe three vehicles together once!||The continental breakfast is basic but good value.|Fancy coffees and baking next door at The End of the Road Coffee are excellent.|Plenty of trail walks nearby, of varying degrees of difficulty.|Shop Easy store is a 10min walk away.||A word about the local boil water advisory. It’s been in place for decades as the water is not treated to official government-required levels, but all the locals drink it and the vast majority don’t want it treated even if it was affordable to do so! That said, we drank bottled water because that’s what our bodies are used to (but then we didn’t think twice about drinking restaurant water, to no ill effect).||Bottom line…we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Lodge to anyone just wanting a place to put their feet up or lay their head at the end of the day.
