We were lucky to find this little paradise in Cienfuegos.|We stayed at the second accommodation 'Hostal Auténtica Perla' and had dinner at 'Bella Perla Marina'.|The Food was delicious and plenty, we had always leftovers and it was so calm and peacefull there and on top of that we had always a great sunset at our meal.|Our 2 childs (3 and 5) loved it too because they used the different floors to watch over the city (the highest building in privat hand) and used the swinging bank.||Both places were full of antique and fitting decoration and furniture. I really love this old classic chic. Waldo und Amileidis are very helpfull, warm-hearted and they have a huge knowledge about yesterday, today and tomorrow. It is a pleasure to talk with them and forgetting the time.||Hostal Auténtica Perla was just wow, with his high ceiling over 6meters and stucco. We slept very well in this classy beds and it was a pleasant temperature. It was lovely to sit in the yard on a rockung chair next to a fountain an planing the next steps.|||We totally recommend these two villas if you stay in cienfuegos, it is great and it is a short walk to the town center.|Thank you very much for your hospitality.||Matthias and Family

We went to Cienfuegos with a friend to stay one night. The big duplex is amazing with such nice and furniture it’s like being in another century. Our hosts were really charming and have 3 small dogs. We spent only one night but we were really happy to stop by there place and enjoy the rooftop terrasse.

We had high expectations of this casa as it scores well in TripAdvisor and is also recommended by The Lonely Planet. I had already back in February 2022 booked the double room including breakfast for 40€/night. When we arrived at the casa we were given the suite. Conscious of the considerable difference in price, I did mention that we had booked the normal room. Waldo said however that we could stay in the suite for the night for the price of the normal room but asked us not to use the jacuzzi in return. We found that totally reasonable and we were happy with the big luxurious bed in which we slept reasonably well (the room is located on a very noisy street). Tired of driving 6 hours that day, we asked whether we could have dinner in the casa. Big mistake on our part was to not asking the price beforehand. We got only 1 plate of rice with some shrimps in sauce and vegetables + a mango juice. No starters, no desserts. The next day, we got the worst breakfast of our trip. Black coffee, no milk at all, and very hard old bread (3 mini pieces per person), mango juice and some cut mango pieces. When checking out, the room was suddenly 45€ instead of the 40€ preagreed by email (then after pointing it out back to 40€ again) and the dinner was 20€ per person!!! We paid 80€ for 1 night and 2 plates of rice! We felt astronomically ripped off!

One of the best views of the vast Cienfuegos bay is to be had from the rooftop terrace of the Perla Bella Marina, a fine place to sit and relax and let the surprisingly agreeable town go about its business below. Rooms are spacious but a little claustrophobic as they have no direct windows to the outside, a quirk that may be a little uncomfortable at first. There’s a warm welcome particularly from landlord Waldo, eager to explain his collection of German wall clocks (only one actually working and on time) and overwatched by a slightly unnerving lifesized statue of his mother. But things are not as bizarre as they may sound, the house is clean and tidy and there’s a good breakfast on one of the upstairs terraces. Easy walking distance to several appealing restaurants in town.

We stayed with Waldo at Bella Perla Marina and would happily do so again. The dinner and breakfast was superb - just as good as the restaurants in town. Our host was friendly and helpful with taxis and excursions. The book exchange was a nice touch! A great place to stay in Cienfuegos - we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

We spent a couple of days at Bella Perla Marina. We greatly enjoyed our stay. The place is nice, clean, well positioned, within walking distance of the city center. The hosts made us feel welcome, helping us with everything we needed. We really felt like home. The breakfast they offered was just right, tasty and filling. Thank you for your hospitality! Adriana

This looked great when we booked it, but still managed to exceed our expectations. Huge room (we had the 'suite'), lots of light and space. Great shared areas - both undercover and on the roof where there are both shaded and sunny spots and sunbeds. Breakfast and dinner were great value. We're vegetarian and had pasta with cheese/veg for dinner. We enjoyed it so much on the first evening that we stayed in for dinner on our 2nd evening too. Our hosts were lovely - very good English and they really took care of us - checking that we had everything we needed but without invading our privacy. Recommended !

The staff at Bella Perla Marina exemplified the Cuban kindness, hospitality and thoroughness. Waldo and his family were not only extremely accommodating, they also were very flexible and helpful. They were dedicated to making sure we got the most out of our stay in Cienfuegos, whether this meant recommending restaurants and activities (Finca del Mar restaurant and El Nicho national park, among others), or helping us get set up with nearby hostals and restaurants during our stay in Cienfuegos.
