Very friendly staff, expansive bar, and menu options like pizza, Stromboli, salads, pasta, and subs. They have a gluten free pizza you can customize with your choice of toppings. They also have gelato from local creamery, gelati celesti.

Although busy the staff was attentive and helpful serving our group of 7. Their Alfredo was superb. We like pepperoni & pineapple pizza. It did not disappoint!

We ordered the bruschetta create your own pasta and the lemon tiramisu. The bruschetta could’ve been a little bit more toasted but other than that everything was delicious and the service was great! I really enjoyed the rustic decor inside and found it very inviting. I will definitely go back!

##Update### the new bar and event room are both awesome. The Stromboli (add sausage and double pepperoni) is excellent as is the pasta with vodka sauce. Very good meatball sub! The Italian Sausage and peppers is excellent. They are opening up a bar and pizza oven soon...can't wait!

Another hidden gem! Had a business meeting here and everything was delicious! Pizza and wings is a classic comfort food for me and these guys didn't disappoint. The wings were very large and crispy, and the pizza was excellent. Great crust and they hooked me up with my extra garlic request very well. Service was also excellent. Can't wait to be back!

Great Bourbon bar, even better pizza. Amazing sauce and the prices aren't terrible. Best Old Fashioned I've had in awhile. My wife wasn't a fan of the BBQ chicken pizza because the chicken wasn't cooked enough. There should always be maillard effect on meats. Either way, we'll be going back when we need pizza. Oh yea, the crust is like focaccia bread - too good

We came to have dinner at this restaurant that is very warm, the good music that accompanies dinner. The atmosphere is very cozy. I was looking for a pasta with green sauce and I got the same thing, it's called Pesto pasta. They also added shrimps as I asked for them. This dish was delicious, fresh fresh from cooking. The spectacular taste, I was very satisfied with the food. The service is very good and pleasant. We also ordered some ice cream for dessert. The place had spaces available. It is open Sunday afternoon at 6-7pm and there were parking lots available.

Google
I love the food at bellas, every sauce is made from scratch and it's the definition of real Italian food. Their pizza is always cooked to perfection and they home make their dough. If you have not been here I highly advise making a stop and seeing not only their extensive bourbon selection but grabbing a bite to eat as well. Max and Lauren will take good care of you at the bar!!

Yelp
I tried this place one time and one time will be all . The italian food was the worst I've ever eaten . Not even close to good , who was cooking ? Maybe a child ? I ordered the chicken marsala , what I received was a piece of chicken with no color , it tasted like margarine , no taste of garlic , mushroom or any spices at all . The pasta had tomato sauce that looked and tasted like it was straight from a can and that's tomato sauce with no seasoning at all . I returned the entire meal , even the salad which had house dressing was awful with straight vinegar , descusting . So now they bring me another plate , this time I ordered the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo , and this was strike two . The Alfredo sauce had no garlic , heavy cream , and never thickened . I drove home an hour away and opened the box to find liquid. There was no parmigian cheese at all in the so called sauce , just margarine and not even real butter , also the bread had margarine instead of butter. This place is filled with short cuts to the point of abuse to the customer and the nerve of them charging $25 for such junk !! You've gotta be kidding me !! So now the world will hear the truth about Bella Sicilia Italian !! THE WORST ITALIAN EVER !!

Yelp
Best place for drinks, real Italian food, homemade tiramisu! Bring your friends and checkout the bourbon dinner in February! Service is great and the ambience is great!

Yelp
I just ordered takeout from this restaurant and like other reviews mention they screwed up my order as well. I had to wait another 20 minutes at the counter while they made the chicken fingers and french fries that they had forgotten to include. The restaurants attitude is sorry about your luck, see you next time. The food is pretty good!

Mary R.

Yelp
Not worth the money. Food was extremely salty. Paid 8$ for ext meatballs and got one in the whole order. Sal's special spaghetti.

Yelp
We have just relocated to Powhatan which is a food desert SO we try to find decent food not too far. Bella Sicilia has proven to be a go to for us. Wonderful pizza and great service. The sandwiches are good and the staff always friendly. They charge for water! Their prices are reasonable and we have done both take out and eat in. Nothing fancy but as close to Philly food as you can get here in VA. Def one of our go to places in this part of VA.

Drew E.

Yelp
The team worked hard to make sure our experience was welcome and inviting. Will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
Small family place. Food is really good and it is usually crowded on the weekend for dinner so get there early.

Yelp
This restaurant has gone downhill severely in recent years. The last time we got food there was over a year ago. My wife got baked ziti with meat sauce, and the meat was corn beef. We couldn't believe it. They denied it when we brought it up with them but we both know corn beef when we taste it

Katie W.

Yelp
This place has really gone down hill..this is the second time we've order a pizza and had a topping missing. This time we ordered a margarita pizza LITERALLY 3 toppings, and the BASIL was left off! We called back and the owner said the chef must have forgot it and we could come back to add Basil...we obviously are not coming back for basil since we just got back home. She then proceeds to tell me she can offer 10% off our next order, but 10% would only make up for the gas we had to spend going back there. Super inconvenient, and unapologetic! Never ordering here again. They've really lost their special touch and some new local customers! Update pizza was cold, dry and gross! How do you mess up a margarita!???

Yelp
I came here today for a steak and cheese w onions, mushrooms lettuce salt and pepper. No where does it say green peppers I can't eat them totally upsets my stomach. I also asked for a milkshake for the fourth time they still do not have chocolate, and they still do not have vanilla hard to make. Two of the most famous shakes, and not have the ice cream to make him all I could say, is if they pay a little bit more attention to what the people wrote, it would be a lot better. I was having a diabetic moment and eating something to eat. I had already drank a glass of orange juice, but the sandwich I'm eating away, knowing that I'm going to have indigestion.

Yelp
Great food! Good prices. Friendly staff. This is my favorite place to go for Italian food!

Yelp
I was super disappointed that I didnt love this place considering the lack of restaurant options where I live in Goochland. I ordered a large cheese pizza and lasagna to go. At pickup the staff was super nice! The portion sizes were big! Now to the cons: WHERE IS THE GARLIC? BASIL? ONIONS? HERBS? FLAVOR????? For a family owned, claiming to be authentic Italian restaurant, I was expecting great grandma's recipes bursting with flavor. The sauce was SO bland. I am 99% sure that its straight tomato sauce from a can that you use as a base for making pasta/pizza sauce. But even if the base is from a can, it should have had garlic, onions, basil, pepper; anything would have helped. It was extremely acidic too. Have your Tums handy. Pizza was okay. It was too salty in my opinion and the crust was bland. As a crust lover, this is not a crust I would waste my carbs on. The lasagna had potential. The flavors in the meat were good but once again, that tomato sauce ruined it. I don't understand how anyone can taste that sauce and think its acceptable. The ricotta was really inconsistent, some spots had huge globs, while other spots had none. It came with a salad which was a nice big fresh salad. Their housemade Italian dressing is just vinegar and oil so dont expect your typical Italian. It also comes with "garlic bread". Okay so I dont know where they figured cutting 3 slits in a piece of bread and having a little butter in there was considered garlic bread....? I could barely taste any garlic. See the pic attached. It seriously makes no sense. As a bread lover, this was extremely disappointing and once again not worth wasting carbs on. I MIGHT try this place in the restaurant instead of take out again and see if it's any different but honestly I dont know that its worth the cals. I'd rather really enjoy what I'm eating.

Yelp
We have been here twice recently. The first time I had chicken with artichoke and the second time a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Both were excellent.

Yelp
Considering Goochland is in desperate need of restaurants so that the options are more then 4-5, you'd be crazy to open one and deliver poor results. It's a prime opportunity to pack the house every time the doors open. So call Bella's crazy. Aesthetically it's a -5. As soon as you walk in you're disappointed by the dingy, dated and dreary atmosphere. Everything is heavy, dark and dated. Tables are scratched and scarred. The bathroom door doesn't shut or lock properly, the soap is empty, garbage full and overall a mess. I was once advised by a restaurant owner that if you want to know the condition and cleanliness of a restaurant kitchen, visit their restrooms. If they have no regard for the most basic cleanliness and upkeep you have a good idea of what the kitchen is like that is out of customer's view. Needless to say I wouldn't want my food coming out of that kitchen in hindsight. The overall feel/vibe when arriving is confusion and chaos. No one seems to know what they're supposed to be doing. The wait staff are constantly changing and appear to have no training. I do feel for them. I've dealt with the owner/manager myself at my table. I wish I knew his name so I could give you a warning. Hot temper. Arrogant. He argued with me about what I said I ordered. He didn't take the order the server did. I simply said this isn't the pizza I ordered. Good move. He spent the rest of the evening at the counter and in the kitchen yelling. There's so few restaurants to choose from that we have tried to give this place a chance every few months only to find it impossibly worse. Don't get me wrong, the pizzas are decent and sometimes the subs but not consistently. It's the service, the attitudes, the atmosphere that finally nailed the door on this place shut for us. We'd never waste our time or money here. What a wasted opportunity they have. The last two times we were there they brought a couple of our meals out then several minutes later brought another and even forgot the final one. We waited too long for it thinking they were still slowwwllllyyyy bringing each one and it would arrive. We sat there with our skimpy portion of food slowly picking at parts of it until it was almost gone waiting for the server to return before having to go to the counter and ask where the last meal was. She never put it in. There's no redeeming value to ever return here. The paycheck comes too hard and our time is too valuable to waste on something so utterly disappointing. I'd rather use that time on the road driving to another town for a quality meal where we can focus our attention on one another and not the dismal food, service and surroundings. Sadly.

Yelp
I think people leaving poor reviews are being way too harsh. This is a small, family owned Italian restaurant in a very rural area. The food is consistently good at a reasonable price. Even with staffing shortages, they have managed to keep the quality up to my expectations. If you want something fancy, go into downtown Richmond and pay double the price.
google avatar

Brandon R.

Yelp
This food lacks flavor. The quality of ingredients is subpar and the pizza is almost always undercooked.

Yelp
You'd have to check behind me but I don't think I've ever left a two star review before soo... TLDR... Go elsewhere or make a pizza at home To recap, there were four of us that all got different entrees. The shrimp alfredo was shrimp drenched in butter served over pasta drenched in butter. The bread was a hoagie sliced in half drenched in butter. I ordered chicken marsala with white sauce and was given red sauce. After attempting to correct the meal we were told it was "served that way" okay... although our menu AND receipt said otherwise. I'm currently wasting carbs on it + the original red sauced spaghetti we were given despite the fact it tastes like NOTHING! The tiramisu was a one layered jumble of nothing and got one bite from me. Being so close to the Maidens boat ramp, this place has endless potential unfortunately for me, it was a fail all around. Pro (but not at all) tip: garlic, salt and pepper are your best friends.

Yelp
I wanted to like Bella Sicilia SO much more than I actually do, especially since there's limited options close to the western area of Goochland. I called in an order on Saturday night, a small cheese pizza and small Caesar salad (pictured). I judge an Italian place by their cheese pizza and Philly cheesesteaks normally....unfortunately their pizza left a lot to be desired. It just didn't taste any better than a frozen pizza...nothing stood out and somehow once you bit into it, it was like there wasn't enough cheese on each slice...which doesn't look like that would be the case from the picture. The sauce was bland. My total came to $17 something which, after looking at their website - I figured out why. The small Caesar was $6.95!!! That seemed crazy expensive to me for a salad that size that didn't have any protein on it. The salad was good, just don't know that it was $7.00 good for what was essentially a side salad. I may try their white pizza next time and see if that's an improvement. Unfortunately I think I'll save my cheese pizza cravings for when I'm closer to my go-to's in chesterfield and henrico.

Yelp
This place has the best pizza I have ever tasted in my life! The pizza maker never stops spinning those amazing pizzas! They are truly a group of dedicated people I have enjoyed knowing. If you ever go by don't miss the opportunity to enjoy what they have to eat, you won't be disappointed. Liz Elswick

Yelp
Great Pizza and service, but the ice cream is a must. Great family style restaurant with a touch of Italy

Yelp
It's some good pizza here. There's nothing too crazy about the service though. Apparently the owner did some bad stuff too.

Yelp
I don't usually like to post bad reviews but this place was gross. Tomato sauce was right out of the can and ravioli was frozen. It came out blobbed with half cooked cheese. Terrible taste. We asked for butter for the sandwich rolls which was a bad representation for Italian bread and got a small container of melted butter. Really? I know Goochland is not little Italy but can't believe this is called Italian food. Chef boy r dee is better than this. I do not recommended !

Jerry B.

Yelp
Great pizza. We stopped in here on a afternoon drive one Sunday and we're very pleasantly surprised at the quality. Very fresh ingredients and a great tasting pizza. Crust was just how I like it and we are now regular customers.
google avatar

Briana C.

Yelp
You would never think that you would fine good Italian food in the heart of Goochland, but Bella Sicilia is amazing. Everything tasted homemade, even down to the salad dressings. It's you're hunting for good comfort Italian food, this is it! We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Good tasting food. Staff is nice and friendly. Ordering online is easy for takeout. I have only eaten here once so far being new to the area. They have a good selection on their menu.

Anna B.

Yelp
if i could rate it no stars i would, as a buisness owner you'd think they know where to draw the line, but the male owner is inappropriate towards his female staff, even after it has been brought to the wife's attention (who is also the owner), no response. (most of the female staff is made up of minors as well) do not go here.
google avatar

Yelp
Never had a good meal from here and go only when desperate. .Carry out pasta was flavorless. Little sauce. Croutons on salads were stale. I had eggplant parmesan. Picked up as soon as done and eggplant rounds were soggy. I live one minute away.

Yelp
My fiancée, my father & I decided to try this place for a weeknight dinner. We all for pasta dishes. All 3 were ok. I love a good Italian tomato sauce but this was nothing special. The guys both got a fettuccine sauce with shrimp/chicken. They liked theirs a little more than I did. I will return to try the pizza, that looked really good. I was disappointed that the big sign outside saying 'ice cream' is just Celesti Gelato that's overpriced. The restaurant was clean & the staff were nice. Overall the experience was just OK.
google avatar

Yelp
They almost gave me chips instead of fries, but other than that, no complaints. A lot of food for a very reasonable price and it was tasty! $6.18 with 10% off your 1st online order...not bad.

Yelp
I really love local food and wanted to go large on this one. It would be much easier to go 1/2 stars, but I have to hold true. Decor was very nice, but seemed decidedly DIY. We had an amazing waitress. I really wish I had her name. She was just as genuine and nice as you could hope. Didn't even try to pronounce some of the wines and just laughed about it. She was so nice, attentive, appropriate enthusiasm without trying to be cloying. The house salad was pathetic. My wife was blown away with the lack of effort. I think you could do MUCH better with your own salad bar. It was as if they didn't even try. The food tasted great. I had the meatball sub and really enjoyed it. My wife had the egg plant parmesan and raved about it. The food was SUPER hot. Almost as if it stayed too long in a convection oven / microwave. But it did taste very good. My older kids shared a pizza and for the first time ever, they finished the crust. I tried it as well and really enjoyed it. We had the canadian bacon pizza and it hit the spot. The house Pino Grigio was pretty good to me. But take careful note, I'm not a very good wine judge. The space was tight, so come early so that you get a seat. I think the place really has the potential to go higher, but there were some odd hit or misses.

Yelp
love love love this place amazing service, great food, so many ice cream choices. i love bella's

Yelp
I have no idea how this restaurant got several adverse Yelp reviews. My wife and I have driven past Bella Sicilia a number of times over the past 3 years, and each time we remark that it was a really cute place and that we should brave the 45 minute drive and try it out. We just returned home from a spectacular experience there. Our waitress, Jami, was at the top of her game and really contributed to a wonderful dining experience. I had Sal's Special with linguine - for an amazing $13.95. It was delicious and was enough for two people. My wife had angel hair pasta with pesto (at $12.50), and it, too, was excellent and was enough for two people. The dinner salads were fresh, nicely presented, and made a very nice dinner complement. To top it off, they had Peroni on draft for $3.50 a pull. I cannot recall having such a nice dinner for under $40! We will be back - with friends!

Stephanie B.

Yelp
I hate it when I get spaghetti and there is water on my plate under the pasta BC someone did not drain the pasta well enough. The pizza is not good. It's just tasteless and the texture of the crust is like cardboard. It tastes like alka seltzer. What is good is the chicken philly cheese and the fries. What makes that sandwich so good is everything! The bread is brand new...(that means really fresh), the meat is well seasoned and the cheese is sooo good.

Yelp
six-word summary - should be pizzeria and gelato ONLY food highlights - pizzas are the specialty - meat and marinara sauce is sweet, not savory - salads are really large and ratios are really outta whack (aka can I get a little lettuce with my feta) - mozz sticks are very yummy - most of the menu is frozen food - clams in goochland don't actually exist - ice cream from gelati celesti :) price highlights - generous portions for the price new customer tips - walk in and find a place to sit - new reno has made it cozier inside customer service observations - service level = okay

Yelp
Service was prompt, the Angel hair pasta with freshly made "pesto" sauce was wonderful. Pasta cooked just right and the portion size WAS generous as was the side salad. If you're coming through Goochland, Va. Stop here.

Pat S.

Yelp
Following a family burial service, it was time for lunch, and our group found Bella Sicilia at the Goochland courthouse area. There were 22 of us so I called to ask if they could accommodate us. When we arrived, they had set up two large tables ( maybe the first large party since COVID restrictions were lifted). The pizzas and salads were great. Service was fast and wait staff friendly. They were attentive and helpful, making it easier to split the bill. While I don't recommend arriving with 21 people unannounced, our experience was delightful.

Yelp
After my experience the other night, I most definitely will not be returning any time soon. Me and my friend both ordered the baked spaghetti. I do not like meat sauce, so I ordered with tomato sauce and my friend ordered with meat sauce. Side salads arrived and they were a good portion and flavor. Then, they brought the two spaghettis - this is where the trouble begins. Immediately, the waitress said, as she set the food in front of us, "I noticed when I pulled yours out that it was meat sauce. They are both meat sauce." I hate conflict, but just said that I don't like meat sauce and had ordered tomato sauce. She said, "Good thing you're not allergic to meat sauce, because then there would be a problem." Over the next several minutes, the waitress forcefully questioned me on whether I liked my food. Her solution to the problem was to offer (multiple times) to bring me tomato sauce to dip my baked spaghetti in. Keep in mind that it was already slathered in an overwhelmingly salty meat sauce. These offers were bookended by comments that included "Everybody makes mistakes", "Nobody's perfect!", and general incredulity that I was not enjoying a dish that I had not ordered. Neither I nor my companion enjoyed our food or the service and left as soon as she left us alone.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY The best Italian food I have had! The portion size is huge! The chicken Parmesan was delicious! The waitstaff was outstanding! SOO yummy! Well with the drive!!!!

Yelp
The food was great but the service was just ok. Very slow service and at times it was like one person was working while the rest of the staff stay at the front "looking busy". G

Yelp
A great spot in Goochland for some good Italian food. I've ordered pizza a few times always so good. Catering our waitress was on spot and the prices are great.
google avatar

George G.

Yelp
Best steak and cheese in Goochland by far. Onion Rings can get soggy if you are taking out due to them using aluminum foil. Ask them not to place in the foil.
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
Sorry to say if an Italian restaurant serves frozen Calamari, it is an indication of what else is to come. It seems the sauce/gravy had no flavor and I can only suspect came from a can. That sauce was the base of the pizza which was bland and unexciting and as well as the pasta dish we ordered. The pasta was a bit over cooked. What a disappointment, I was hoping for a restaurant that had a passion for great food made from fresh ingredients.
google avatar

Yelp
This is basically a typical mom and pop type Italian joint , with a little nicer than average decor. I used to see places like this all the time when I worked up north. Down here, they are less common, and many of them are nowhere near as good. Up north (say western NY for example) this would be a run of the mill place, food-wise. But given it's location , it is pretty near miraculous. There are certainly better Italian places in Henrico County and Richmond, but not really that many at the same price point as Bella. They have a pretty decent NY Style pizza and also like their sicilian pie as well. Ive probably had 20 pizzas from here over the past few years and only one wasn't so great (underdone) it not my favorite pizza joint in the area, but living in Goochland it is the best , close option that I have found to make good pizza with consistency and doesn't close at 4PM like a pizza place across the street.

Yelp
Stopped here tonight for dinner very good meal and excellent service. A seasoned server makes all the difference. No disrespect to the younger servers but they need to train with a veteran to understand the menu and timing of meal. Plenty of food for the price and always tasty. We had Stromboli, shrimp scampi and chicken artichoke! Be back soon

Yelp
The salad was a basic variety with iceberg and while too cold, at least everything was fresh. The Garlic Knots appetizer was hot, fresh and flavorful. Crunchy on the outside and moist inside, they were drizzled with olive oil and fresh Parmesan, and were served with marinara. I recommend these. The Veal Piccata was okay. The veal was fork-tender and there was a good portion of meat and mushrooms. Unfortunately, for me, I felt the dish was too lemony. I also had three lemon seeds of which to dispose. I chose angel hair pasta for the side and found it complimented the main dish well. The pasta was was perfectly done. The sauce marinara was okay. This restaurant was pretty good in an area where there isn't much from which to choose. Oh... They have a good assortment of ice cream and Italian desserts. The staff were very friendly. :-)

Yelp
Candidly, I have not had anything here other than their pizza which is excellent. My wife is a true NYer, so she is picky about her "slice". Whether it is for a quick meal or to eat at Hidden Rock during our son's games - it is always a family must!

Camille S.

Yelp
I ordered baked ziti. Took a while to get food when it did show up it was ziti with some sauce thrown on top of it! Told the girl I ordered baked ziti she takes it back to the kitchen they throw some cheese on top no ricotta chesse! Just cheese thrown on top of the sauce. Not acceptable! Menu states meat sauce ricotta and mozzarella cheese. No comp no offer for dessert. No manager checking to see if everything ok. Very disappointed with the service.
