Social atmosphere with a nice dock and communal dinners. No AC, but I stayed in a little loft (peak dorm) that felt semi-private and cozy in the 10-bed dorm. They offer the cheapest snorkeling tour on the island, which was great. Limited drinking water available. Rooms were fine but nothing special—definitely a bit overpriced.

Great stay in Caye Caulker, we loved the island and the highlight was the snorkelling tour we booked through the hostel. However the thing that really let this hostel down was the attitude of the staff. They were rude, lazy and took hours to complete basic requests (like turning on the air con in our room when our friend was feeling very unwell.) The kitchen was poorly equipped and the girl on reception looked at us like we were stupid when we asked why there were no mugs. This place had a lot of potential but the staff need to be so much more friendly and accommodating to justify its price.

The bed was comfortable, there was always staff around and the hostel was always clean. It can be loud on Sunday funday, so don’t schedule anything early Monday morning!!!!! One of my favorite hostels I’ve stayed at. I stayed in a private room which was a bit of a hike (3 flights of stairs) but comfy and quiet on most days

Was a wonderful stay. Beautiful place and such friendly people. Security man Kevin was an absolute legend! Made the whole place feel even more safe. Definitely hop down the peer to speak to Kev he’s what made the stay my favourite of the trip!

Bellas has a great location and Caye Caulker is an amazing place. Should go on a weekend as has more atmosphere. Throughout the week its quieter.|The staff at Bellas tainted our experience though. The two girls on reception were rude and lazy. When we asked a basic question such as ‘can we have some hand soap for our bathroom’ they often gave us a dumb look and brushed us off. |We had to ask multiple times every day to get our air con turned on in the evening as it didnt come on automatically and it still took 40 minutes for them to do it even when explained that someone was ill in our room and needed it on. They were so unapproachable and rolled their eyes at us when we asked them to do something simple when they were mid snack or sat on their phone. On our last night we met Simone and it was a shame we hadn’t met her before because she was so amazing and helpful.|They closed reception early so we couldn’t get the help we needed multiple times.|Kevin was a great help though :)|The bathroom smelled of egg which was also very unpleasant. |Wifi didnt extend to our room so we were without unless we sat at reception.|Kitchen was poorly stocked with one knife and one working hob for a whole hostel.|For an expensive hostel so much needs to be improved to justify the price.

Terrible stay overall. We booked a 6 bed dorm for 6 of us which should have been private but found that the door connecting us to another dorm was unlocked and kept being opened even when we were changing by the people in the other dorm so they could “share the AC” that we had paid extra for and they hadn’t. We asked 5 times for this door to be locked and it was never done. We came back twice to all the doors in our room being opened despite being locked by us. When we tried to lock the door ourselves as the hostel staff hadn’t done it we came back to the lock broken as the people beside us had forced it open. The room was not properly clean and there were stains on the sheets. We also had one window with no curtain that anybody could look into as we were on the ground floor with hammocks outside. When we arrived there was a group of men on the hammocks outside and when we forgot the code to the door they all told us what it was as everyone seemed to know the door code. The beds were creaky and very unstable and there was a bad smell in the room. Caye Caulker itself is absolutely beautiful but I would recommend staying somewhere else.

Love the location of this hostel. It was far enough from the road that you didn’t hear any noise but close enough you can get anywhere you need. On the corner there is a store that has most of everything you’d need. At Bella’s you have the option to cook your own meals which is nice to save on your budget. The rooms are very hot, although they have lots of fans it can still be quite hot at night. The hostel has lots of activities throughout the week to keep you busy or you can create your own fun outside of the hostel. Sunday funday is a riot and was so much fun! Terrible hangover but so much fun. Hostel staff and volunteers are nice, friendly and ready to help with whatever you need.

This was the most mixed trip - on one hand, caye caulker was so beautiful and lovely I would go back in a heartbeat. However, to Bella’s I would not even if I was paid. The staff were often absent from reception and when they were present, they were so incredibly rude and unhelpful I felt that they were actively trying to be be useless. When we informed them of problems (such as air con not working, towels we had paid to rent being dirty, wifi not working at all etc) they couldn’t have cared less (especially the 2 girls at reception who we were laughing at us behind our back and were constantly snacking rather than helping guests when they asked for it). To add to this, our room door didn’t lock and they never fixed it which is a safety issue with 4 girls and many random local men walking around (who never seemed to leave). The kitchen was infested with ants, had 2 mugs and 4 forks for the entire accommodation and the hobs rarely worked. On the final day for about 5 mins we met Simone who was lovely but too little too late. Would not recommend.
