Love this place!! Had an amazing 5 days here and I’ll definitely be coming back. All the hostel staff are so welcoming and accommodating, and really do go the extra mile to ensure you’re having a great stay. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re a backpacker. Just make sure to book a room with AC, the property does get really hot during the day. Huge thank you to the whole team at Bella’s for the unforgettable stay!!

This place was incredible! The worst part of the whole trip was finding out that the owners dog is named “Peaches” and not “Queenie” which I personally think is a better name. Also, make sure you say hi to Leroy, the black cat on the premises. (Disclaimer: the cats names probably not Leroy either…. But it should be)

There were 11 of us that came to Belize together and checked in in early January, 2025, and we booked various rooms therefore we have varying experiences. I would say it’s on the expensive side, this hostel has great potential, but definitely happy I chose a room with A/C for my boyfriend and I as they get stale any time you’re in a hot place and that’s just a given because of the climate; uncontrollable. We got towels which was nice, our room had two plugs to charge our phones at night which is essential, I loved the door handles because there was no keys for me to loose, but adding hooks for towels would be a plus and the upstairs bathroom didn’t have soap for 3 days straight so I would just wash my hands downstairs. Caye Caulker was the best first 4 days in this country we could have asked for because of the island and hostel location mostly. We went for a snorkeling tour which was awesome with the hostel (thank you tony!!) and Sunday Funday was a day to remember with my friends and I. My favourite part about this hostel was its location and property, and the island itself is just a small, walking friendly neighbourhood with a variety of places to eat and drink. Wonderful memories made here thank you for having us!

The room for 4 people was very, very small. The shower wasn’t properly covered off so alot of water got into the bathroom floor. There was no sewerage drain, so everything was wet all the time. Heavy construction ongoing during early morning hours. No curtain on a big window, so very early day for the entire room. Inevitable to have loads of sand in the room, nothing provided to avoid this. Tony of the snorkeling tour was a very strange, self-centered person who cursed a lot. This gave a very strange atmosphere. Captain Cooke was nice, both on the snorkeling and the sunset tour. Staff at reception was friendly too. The pier and bar at the hostel’s backyard were nice and lively.

Probably one of the worst hostels we have ever stayed at. It wasn’t so much the staff it was much more the facilities that were terrible. Our room stank of rotten eggs, as if there was a gas leak just below the window. The mattresses are so old that you literally lie in a hole in the middle. Generally it is really dirty. And we don’t mean the sand - that’s super normal on an island - but hair all over the place and not sure when the surfaces of cupboards have ever been cleaned. Additionally, it’s definitely a party hostel. If this is something you’re looking for - great! But that also means the facilities are treated accordingly. Blocked toilettes, hair blocked drains, broken showers and generally just disgusting. Usually water is provided but on this night there was none left until noon the next day. This was without notice and shops were already closed - so quite frustrating. We wanted to stay three nights but cancelled immediately after the first night. The staff was very understanding of our decision which was good. If you’re looking for something cheap with a lot of backpacker party’s, go for it. If you’re looking to experience Belize it’s a complete disappointment.

Great social hostel with big chill area and well-equipped kitchen. Dorms are pretty basic but clean. Restaurants, bus station and stores in short walking distance. The staff was very friendly, helpful and fun to hang out with. They also organise tours and activities which were great. Would stay here again!

Great hostel - loved it! The partnership with the experiences was awesome. Check out the mosquito situation in Cabin 1. The flyscreens are a half done job, another window and the gap between wall and roof needs mesh. Got eaten alive on night 1. Resolved to put bug spray on the last two nights.

I had read a lot of very mixed things about Bella’s and wasn’t sure what to expect. It is a pretty basic hostel, nothing fancy but I stayed in the upstairs 7 bed dorm and found it to be really clean and comfortable, with good AC. The hostel itself is super social and it’s so easy to meet people as a solo traveller. It’s also great to be able to book tours like snorkelling directly through the hostel. Found the staff to be really nice and kitchen to be everything I needed. ||My one complaint would be that my top bunk was pretty awkward to get into but this was minor - I would highly recommend Bella’s!
